They'll do anything to hide what they want, even though it's each other they want most. Determined to keep their friends-with-benefits status under-wraps, Luke and Delaney spend their junior year of college sneaking around. Once the truth is revealed, their relationship takes off, but not without the challenges from Delaney's carefree attitude or Luke's overbearing parents. Luke’s determined to standby the girl he loves and trust she’s doing the right thing, despite his hectic baseball schedule that keeps him on the road. When Delaney's past threatens to destroy them, will forgiveness be enough for them to realize they were each other's lucky catch? ***Standalone but it is recommended you read the entire series***
Luke and Delaney are back in the University Park series, and I couldn't get more excited for this two love birds. Sure, I was a big fan of the first three books and I was even caught by the Raven's trap, but somehow, in this new book, Luke definitely caught my attention. I never thought I'd like him at all because he was a little uptight and a rebel. I wasn't really into Delaney too, because I didn't like her always sleeping around and never seemed to stay in a relationship.
Through the course of the book, the reader gets a very interesting surprise twist. No wonder I had always hated Luke's parents. There was a reason for their controlling and over protective attitude. A reason that shocked and rocked their world.
CM Doporto's writing improved through the years. I witnessed how she improved into a better writer that she is today. She knows how to make her readers squirm with delight, sigh with moaning frustrations and smile with tears in their eyes.
My Lucky Catch is a standalone novel, but like what Doporto says, it is highly recommended you read the entire series, to get the best of both Delaney's and Luke's world.
I have followed the University Park Series starting With Lexy and Raven, which I absolutely fell into the Raven's trap. Now its Time for Lexy's twin to find his love.
Luke is not looking for a relationship but one night with Delaney and he can't seem to get her out of his mind, but what is it about her?
Delaney has a horrible past. She won't give anyone her heart. She is happy with partying. But one night with Luke and she can't stop thinking about him. Why does she keep seeing him?
They met at a frat party for a night of fun. Delaney playing her games never told Luke her name. It was better that way but what happens when she ends up being his sisters roomie? Their "Friends with Benefits" turns into feelings that neither one thought would happen. Luke wants more from her but she fights him when she clearly feels the same way. What is she afraid of?
When her past is brought out in the open, it stirs up unwanted memories. It affects everyone. Will her past be the thing to tear them apart or will their love be strong enough to conquer all? Will Delaney and Luke be able to make a better future together or apart?
This book had me on the edge of my seat. I was laughing, happy. sad and at times crying for these two characters. It pulls at your heart strings and you feel for them. I had a hard time putting it down. The story gives a new meaning to heartache and pain along with true love. I recommend for the mature audience. A definite must read......You won't be disappointed.
First off....CM Doporto is an amazing writer!!! Thank you for letting me be a beta reader for your story, I enjoyed it more than I can express in words... Thank You! ..... I fell into the Raven's trap in the University Park Series head first and I have never looked back. This is the wonderful story of Delaney & Luke which is full of laughter, love and some deep sadness. My Lucky Catch is written to draw you into the story and forget about the world around you, bringing you into Luke and Delaney's Love and Pain as their journey unfolds. CM has definitely brought her characters to life in her writing and has yet again produced a very wonderful work of art. It is written from both Delaney and Luke's point of view so you can gather the whole story from both sides, making the book that more enticing and harder to put down. My Lucky Catch is indeed a book that will make you laugh, love, and cry.
This book was provided by the author for an honest and unbiased review.
My Lucky Catch Wow I needed to wipe my eyes and wrap my head around everything before I was able to write this. I was a wreck reading this. I became so attached to Lovable Luke and Delany with her wild personality. Luke and Delany stole my heart with every page. This book is in conjunction with The University Park Series yet gives you a whole new perspective on our two main characters and the unexpected heartbreak that throws this whole book for a loop. I was a mess reading the last few chapters. I wasn't sure if I wanted to hug or slap them both! Definitely one that will go on my favorites list for sure!
This is Luke and Delaney's story. This story shows how their relationship starts when it's still a secret. There are some very heartbreaking revelations and one very shocking moment. I was so glad to learn more on why Delaney was so secretive about her past and what it was all about. It also explains a lot about why is the way she is. I really enjoyed this story and you will also.
I really liked this book!! It was fun to see them during the college days and getting their take on everything that had happened to Lexi and getting more of Delaney's history was really nice but all that drama at the end I'm glad it all worked out and that Luke's mom stop thinking she was the best ever
So... I'll begin by saying that I liked Lexi and Raven more as characters. That doesn't mean I didn't like Laney or Luca. I did, a lot, loved them actually. I just didn't like that their relationship was based on only intimacy, wich changed for me at about 70% and that's where I began feeling the story trully addictive.
I could not connect with Delaney at all. She was a horrible person and knowing her past didn’t make me accept her personality at all. I was surprised by how devoted Luke was. Lexi and ravens story make him seem like a jerk at times and he wasn’t that way at all. I also think the ending and interactions with Olivia was an unrealistic way for things to play out. I was expecting more out of this story than what was given. :(
Really enjoyed the story and it is such a quick read! Disappointed about the couple of spelling mistakes in the book but other than that Luke and Delaney’s story was the one I’ve been waiting to read and it was so adorable and heart wrenching at the same time! Hope this series continues:)
This story is sweet and very revealing of the characters we meet in the previous stories of Lexi and Raven. Luke’s strength and perseverance is displayed in a beautiful and realistic manner while Delaney’s mannerisms and behavior come full circle in understanding.
Raven fans rejoice! We now have a new obsession. If you're familiar with CM Doporto's writing style, you know to expect sweet moments that will clutch at your heart, damaged characters who deep down only want to be loved and obsession worthy heroes. Fans will recognize Luke as Lexi's drool-worthy twin brother from the earlier University Park series books. If you've been following the series, you've already met both Luke and Laney and have probably become obsessed with how they hooked up in the first place. So let's take a little trip to a time before Lexi moved on campus and met Raven. To before Lexi and Laney ever met and follow along as Laney and Luke meet for the very first time. Although I will always be a Raven fan, Luke has always held a special place in my heart. I mean he grew up in that same spirit crushing home that Lexi grew up in. That must have taken a toll on the fun loving, laid back guy we all got a glimpse of prior to now. And I always felt that there had to be something behind Laney's bed-hopping behavior. Now we know how deeply damaged emotionally she is and Luke is the perfect person to help her heal.
Even knowing how their relationship will turn out, I could not stop myself from smiling at their interactions and insistence that it was a one time deal. From the first meeting, when they both agreed to a one night stand, it was obvious that theirs would be a special kind of relationship. You want to just pat them on the head and tell them “Good luck with that whole one night thing.” However, with their every meeting and every interaction it becomes obvious that these two characters need each other. The harder they fight it, the more they need the support of the other. So it should come as no surprise that I was rooting for Luke the entire time.
I've decided that Doporto's books need to be packaged with a box of Kleenex. Just when I think I've got the characters figured out and I know how things will be turning out, she lets us have it. Tossing in a curve ball that has us catching our breaths and reaching for those tissues. Although I will forever be caught in the Raven Trap, I must admit that in this instance, after reading My Lucky Catch, I am firmly and cheerfully TeamLuke.
Although, this is the sixth book in the University park series, please don't let that deter you. It can be read as a standalone. I would however recommend reading the previous books in the series just because the characters are ones that will stay with you for such a long time you will WANT to read their story. Now we just need Colin's story.
Such a great easy read which kept me entertained from beginning to end.
It all started as an amazing one night stand at the end of the semester. Luke was the first baseman for Park Hill University who just had a great night with a mystery girl. After sex, she was getting ready to leave and refused to tell him her name. All he knew was, she had him listed in her "To Do List" which meant exactly that!
Delaney had major issues, her parents were killed when she was very young and she has blamed herself for years.
She really Had no cares in the world. She went to college, had fun, drank and had sex with anyone she wanted to.
At the start of fall semester, she shared a dorm room with Lexi. Lexi and Delaney were total opposites. They did have one thing in common..... LUKE!! Lexi hasn't slept with Luke but, she was his twin sister. Delaney's idea of not giving Luke her name or number goes out the window when there is a knock on the door and once the door opens, they spot each other!!
Things are about to get a little crazy. Delaney and Luke can't seem to keep their hands off each other but they also don't want Lexi to know about them so they have to meet up in secret. Lexi is a good girl who doesn't drink or go to parties so it's easy to avoid being seen there. However, one of Luke's roommate's happens to be Lexi's boyfriend.
This book has such a twist at the end, you definitely don't want to miss out on this book. So much happens. It made me happy and parts made me cry but sooooo worth it!!
I'm a big fan of the University Park series, so hooked on Lexi and Raven's story and when I heard CM Doporto was writing this book in Luke and Delaney's story I was VERY intrigued, I couldn't wait to see how this one turned out.
Luke is Lexi's twin brother he's not looking for a relationship he just wants to have fun and revel against his strict parents but after one night with Delaney everything changes for him.
Delany has a wall built up around her heart after all the heartbreak and pain the past brought for her but when she meets Luke the wall begins to crumble.
As Luke and Delaney spend more time together they start becoming more the just friends...with benefits. They become an actual couple but what happens when pasts truths are brought up and threaten to destroy their relationship? Will they both survive the heartbreak or will it tear them apart forever? Well you gotta read to find that out.
Once again CM Doporto has flawed me with her incredible writing that just seems to get better and better. I will forever be caught in the Raven's trap but this book was amazing for me. It's been great read Delaney's and Luke's story. I got emotional at some points that a few years were shed. This book definitely pulls at your heart strings and keeps you on the end of your seat NEEDING to know more. You definitely won't be disappointed with this one.
I absolutely love My Lucky Catch. I Love Luke and Delaney story. Like that Luke meet Delaney way before lexi meet Delaney. I Love that Luke and Delaney have this instant connection when they first meet. I love that Luke is smart funny outgoing caring great friend and he never gives up on what he wants. I Love that Delaney is smart caring funny outgoing and she is a strong person. I like that Luke and Delaney knew that they had feelings for eachother and love eachother but they were to stubborn to admit to eachother. I Love how Luke was with Delaney he was always there for her never gave up on Delaney even though she try to push him away. I love that Delaney was a strong person and she didn't care what other people thought about her. Once I stared reading My Lucky Catch it was hooked I couldn't put it down. I definitely recommend that everyone should read My Lucky Catch once you do you won't be disappointed. CM Doporto did an amazing job on Writing My Lucky Catch i can't wait to read more from her.
Once again CM Doporto delivers a book that will have its readers falling in love with each page turn !! I absolutely could not wait to get my hands on Luke and Delaney's story! There was this mysterious side to both of them That compelled me to love them despite their almost "raunchy" attitudes and behaviors. I kept saying to myself that there had to be more there ... Deep down they had to really love one another… Deep down they just didn't know how to express themselves or how they were truly feeling! Each of us at some point in our lives have felt this exact way ... Almost lost! I think that is why I loved their story is much as I did because for me… It was so relatable . If you haven't already...Please give this fabulous author a try ! I promise you will not regret it! This book is filled with everything you could hope for in s romance: laughter, anger, sorrow, heart-wrenching moments, juicy and naughty love scenes...and at the end GOLD!!!! Let CM Doporto be your next author of choice...or your Lucky Catch. I promise you won't regret it!
Luke I loved Luke's character, he is smart, athletic a great Baseball player and has the passion and drive to be a fantastic fitness coach and PT.
Delaney Delaney is amazing, she has attitude and not afraid to speak her mind or party but behind all this she has built walls so thick to protect herself from heartbreak because of deep seated hurt from Her past.
I loved this book, it made me laugh and cry following Luke and Delaney's journey and discovering Delaney's past. Luke broke down her walls and she was able to love again. Discovering who was responsible for her parents deaths by accident over dinner broke my heart for her, she had been living with not knowing who was responsible for robbing her of her family. I must say that I wanted to join Luke and throat punch Olivia as well, she is such a controlling parent that you can understand why she is that way further into the book. Thank you so much for a fantastic read, I wish I could give more than 5 stars!
This is the 6th book in the University Park series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. For reader enjoyment and understanding, I recommend reading the series in order.
Luke & Delaney have a good thing going on. The no stress hookups sound like a great idea, in theory. Then why do both of them crave so much more?
Delaney wants to be more with Luke, but her past keeps coming back to haunt her. Can she find the strength to be what he needs - to grab the future she wants too? These are 2 people who should end up together.
I was having a hard time putting this book down! I won this book from a party with the author, and I am so glad I did. I read and enjoyed how the story brought back some of my favorites from the series. There are surprises for the reader and a really good story all the way to the end.
So I have read every book in this series and I watched from the outside how explosive this couple can be, but I freaked out when I heard they were getting their very own book. Of course I grabbed it up.
This book is great, it has a great storyline, as always CM tells us both point of views, so we know what everyone is thinking. We get visited by some favorite friends and family members. These two really had to work for it once they decided to quit messing around and to have a real relationship. They had everything that could be thrown in their way there, blocking happiness.
CM does a great job taking you on that journey, showing you how strong it can be, and if you really want it, get it.
I love the whole University Series. From falling for the Raven trap and sweet Lexi, i was so excited to find out what would happen with Luke and Delaney. Luke is Lexi's twin brother they have one very messed up strict mother that trays to control there life's and what they do. Delaney lost her parent when she was 8 years old to a drunk driver she later found out was the mother of they've of her life Luke. She was taken in by Martin and Victoria friends of her parents. Luke and Delaneys love story started during Ravens and Lexi's story. There meant to be together after the rough life they have been put through. I loved it hope there's another story
Spicy, Surprising, Saucy, Shocking. There was so much to love in this book and the different surprises towards the end: Wow, just Wow. I loved the playful yet rocky relationship between Luke and Delaney. Tasteful yet still fun sexual tension leaves it a comfortable read for a mature teen audience. It was also fun to see how their story grew around Lexi's from the original series which are a must read! There is so much depth to the characters and so much heartbreak. The plot twists leave you with your jaw down to the ground. Trust me, you want to find out for yourself.
I think there were some opportunities that Ms Doporto missed in this book. For some reason the scene from the first book in this series where Delaney was snapping a rubber band against her wrist stuck out in my mind. I kept waiting for that to be explained in the series but was sure that it would be addressed in this last book about Luke and Delaney. But it wasn't. I thought this might be an interesting little side note to this character would have been interesting to dig into. But nothing.
Glad to see this story but again, lost opportunity.
I thought that this book will be some kind of continuation of the relationship of Luke and Delaney. I was surprised when My Lucky Catch's time frame was wayyyy in the beginning, when Lexi was still with Collin. I have read the previous books in the University Park series about 2 years ago and I cannot clearly remember anymore the events that happened. But I didn't forget loving Lexi, Raven, Luke, and Delaney. This book gave me a reminder of how great their relationships were but at the same time, it felt like seeing/reading about them for the first time again.
After reading Luke and Delaney's story I can't decide who's book I liked better Raven or Lexis. I love the way the book plays out. Fun, drama, real life situations and emotions , family troubles and just every day troubles. Luke's love for Delaney and his faith in her is over whelming and so heart felt. I can feel the story as I read it and cry the tears when Delaney's hurt and crying. Must be
I've been waiting for the next book in the university park series to come out and I was so excited to find out it was Luke and Delaney's story. I loved how Luke actually found Delaney way before lexi ever met her and became roommates. it was great to see how their relationship grew as a couple. another great book by cm Doporto!
This book was perfect! I always wondered what was going on between Luke and Delaney. Seeing now what went down. While reading Raven and Lexi's story, all the parts now fit into place.
Truth moment: I did read this in one setting! I loved it so much and the plot! Wow! CM keep writing so we can keep reading! Love them! ❤️❤️
This is such an amazing book. I highly recommend it. If you have read The University Parks series from the beginning than you know things that were going on with Luke and Delaney. This book tells their story and how it began. I love them just as much as I do Raven and Lexi. You may cry, you may laugh, and at some point you may get angry with Delaney.
This is definitely a 3.5 review... I really thought it was go into be a different book, but in all honesty it felt rush and lacking details that I wanted to know.. There were parts of the book that I already knew because of previous books.. I expected more of this book, but I guess it just wasn't for me
I have read all the Lexi and Raven stories so couldn't wait for this one. CM Doporto didn't disappoint I loved this story. I don't want to say to much as I'll giveaway spoilers but this is a must read. I would highly recommend to others.
I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Ms. Doporto keeps getting better. Laney and Luke's story wasn't quite as heartbreaking as Lexi and Raven, but pretty darn close. Good story and good to get caught up with Lexi and Raven a little.
