Love is sparked from a distance yet struggles to stay ignited. Tess and JD cross paths at a conference by chance. One steamy night turned into an extended vacation, the chemistry that was created during their time spent together couldn’t be ignored. JD knows that she is the one, never feeling so sure about anything in life prior to meeting Tess. But she doesn’t believe him, her past hinders her from experiencing real love.
While working in New York as the Vice-President of a technology start-up, she’s highly successful and skilled in her field, whereas JD calls all the shots as CEO of Can-It Corporations in Iowa. In Chance, No Choice, the couple repeatedly tries to establish a solid foundation for a lasting relationship but being miles apart, having different goals in life and inconsistent communication, it isn’t the easiest thing to do.

First time reading this author....By Chance, No Choice was a pretty good read....didn't really like the ending....wasn't a cliffhanger but left some unanswered question ....can't wait to read the next book in the Stetson Series because I would like to know more about JD and Tess.....Ms. Turner says at the end of the book that she will update us on JD and Tess but it's not the same as knowing there's a HEA for them....ijs

I had to check to see if this was the same author of the 10-80 series, this was so poorly written. It had potential but the writing style was so different from other books I've read from this same author. It was distracting and irritating. I'm curious but I don't think I'll be able to continue with this series. We'll see...

Yeah hate this.

The cover of this book is awful. The woman's face just looks weird, its such a bad pose, couldn't we have had her in a business suit since that is what she wears?

The writing was bad as well. The sex scenes were just meh.

Not sure why this has such a good rating it isn't for me.

Pleasant read

This book is the first in the series and ends on a cliffhanger. This is JD and Tess' story. I found it to be a pleasant, hilarious read.

By Chance, No Choice was a awesome romance novel. I loved every minute of it, especially JD's alpha male character with his country swag. Tess & JD were the perfect couple. I truly believe that they were made for each other.

Tess & JD meet at a conference in Arizona. They took the chance of spending time & being intimate with each other. These two eventually fell in love with one another. However, JD resided in Iowa & Tess lived in New York. They both are successful business people. How can they make this long distance relationship work?

JD is all in to make it work & 100% claim Tess as his lady. He would go above & beyond for her. Tess loves JD but she is so afraid to commit because of the relationship she had with her father. Her father never had time for her & always missed important things in her life. He always put work before her & her mother. Her mother left him & eventually, Tess disowned him, never seeing or speaking to him again. She felt, why not give him confirmation of what he already practice. Tess & JD’s love for each other overcomes all their obstacles & they eventually get engaged.

As I previously stated, I loved JD. He was the take charge & demanding kind of guy. He said what he said & meant what he said. He always went after what he wanted & he most definitely wanted & went after Tess. The word ‘No’ was foreign to him. Tess was a very successful business woman. Smart, sassy & independent. She simply didn't have a choice but to fall in love with JD & he with her. Their love was evident. I was excited & thought his proposal to her was the sweetest. I'm anxious to know where their relationship will go from this point on. I'm also anxious to know what's going to happen between Knox & Nina. Those two are a mess & I hope they become one.

I'm certainly looking forward to reading Book 2 of the Stetson Series, as well as other works by Xyla. By the way, great job Xyla! This story was amazing. #VIPBookReviews

No much of a story; Tess has abandonment and fear of commitment issues while JD knows what and who he wants. He wants Tess. It is a sweet short romance without much substance. The book could use proofreading and editing.

Didn't stand a chance

This book was another good one by Ms. Turner. Tess was a career focused sassy woman. JD was supposed to be a cowboy but I didn't really see it besides the few mentions of his Stetson hat and the fact that he lived on a ranch. The constant mention of his southern accent was ridiculous. I've known several people from Iowa and they do not have southern accents. All that aside I did like JD's alpha tendencies. He was going to get what he wanted and that was Tess. This book was filled with great dialogue, hot sex, and attitude. Definitely recommend reading and am looking forward to Knox and Nina's story.

Straight up 5 Stars

Loved it. From beginning to the end this book held my attention. Tess and JD were so funny, sexy, crazy and loving. JD's relationship with his family was awesome. They fell before they realize. It happened so fast. Their family and friends were all supportive. Loved. This .Book! I recommend this book to old and new fans of Xyla Turner.

Very interesting

The author did a good job of showing how past relationships can affect future ones. Loved that JD always took matters into his own hands - definitely a straight shooter. Respect.

The heroine took some getting used to she was difficult, but overall this was such a great read. The hero(JD) is my kind of man, he had amazing reserves of patience and it took all he had to deal with the heroine but it made for an interesting read.

Wow

This tugged at my heart strings. I laughed out loud, gasped at the alpha dialogue. Real issues with trust. I liked the back and forth about long distance romance. Amazing start to a new series. Waiting on book 2! Always enjoyed Ms. Turner's books.

Oh this is good! I can't believe so many people disliked this book! I rather enjoyed it, but to each her own. JT and Tess meet at a work conference and the attraction between them is instant. JT pursues her pretty relentlessly, but Tess gives in and they share some passion at the conference which she wants to leave right there since she lives in NYC and he lives in Iowa. She didn't see a future and she spends a lot of the book trying to run from this man, but JT is not having it! He wants to stake his claim on Tess pretty much from the get go and won't stop until she realizes he's not going anywhere. We learn why Tess has a hard time committing, due to her relationship with her dad and feelings of abandonment. She fears once she's invested in JT, he will leave her like her dad did. JT manages to break down Tess's walls (literally and figuratively lol) and they fall madly in love. It's cute story and I enjoyed all their passionate scenes in and out of the bedroom. Looking forward to reading more about the Timms family.

I really liked Tess and JD. JD is what dreams are made of! The writing sucks you in. I did not want to put this book down. This book is just as good as your favorite tv show. There were a few things that were skirted over, like incidents that happened during the visit to Iowa, that I thought would have made for an interesting scene fleshed out. Tess handled it well, though it would have been nice to get to the bottom of the weirdness that happened with a few people. It was still a good scene. I was slightly irritated by the typing errors though. As amazing as all of Xyla Turner's books are, the editing detracts from the masterpieces that they could be. I can't wait to read about his brother and her bestie next!!

Very cute, mama, very cute...

This was such a cute story of love, determination, and going after exactly what you want.
Jagger "JD" was so alpha, so male, so virile and so confident. He knew what he wanted and he went after it.
Tess, man annoying much. She was getting on my last nerve. There she has a man, fall head over heels for her, will move everything for and she was still stuck on what her dad did to her; man get a life or else it will run you by. She finally woke up and then it became cute...
Honestly, cowboys, alpha, beautiful male specimen is starting to look like a dream guy...

Such a fun read

I loved the story of Tess and JD. They were both strong characters who fought as passionately as they loved. The misunderstandings were cleared up immediately and once Tess got on board after realizing that JD was not going anywhere she never wavered. They were an amazing pair and I am so happy I got to meet them through Xyla Turner. She has a way of writing strong characters that I love and JD and Tess were a strong couple whose chemistry was off the charts. I hope to see more from Xyla in the future. She is amazing.

Refreshingly honest

I rated this five star story a three due to do many typos. I've read that some authors do this to discourage plagiarism, I found it to be totally distracting. Jagger and Tessa are both heavy hitters in their career fields, he's alpha and she, is not having it....at first. Matter runs his own business and Tessa is a GO for a tech company. They meet at a convention and the fire roads out of control. I really liked the symmetry and cohesiveness of the story and I look forward to a typo-less reading of the next book in the series.
