To me, grace is such an important issue in the Christian life. Without grace we are nothing. Without grace we are lost. Gary Chapman and Chris Fabry have written an excellent book on grace. As they put it: GRACE = God's Riches At Christ's Expense. I love the way they take you through the Bible, showing you instances of grace and showing us how it applies to us, today. There is also a study in the back of the book, which one can do on their own or as a group study. The book is easy to read, great for a new believer, a non believer, basically everyone. It has an attractive cover, the pages are beautifully printed, so it would make a lovely gift. (Maybe even a Christmas gift). This will certainly be a book that remains in my library and loaned out over and over again. I received this book free from the MP News Room . I was not required to write a positive review and the opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255 : “Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising.”
Quick and easy to read, this book is wonderful. The book is divided into nine chapters, each chapter focusing on a certain person; Abram, Abraham, Rahab, Tamar, David, Bathsheba, Solomon, Joseph, and Jesus. Each chapter starts of telling the story of whoever that chapter is focusing on. It then delves deeper into the story, showing you God's wonderful ways. Gary and Chris take you through the bible and they paint you a beautiful picture of how God picks up the broken and unworthy only to shower them with grace. The narrative flows wonderfully, and with 165 pages (including the study guide), this book can easily be finished in a few sittings. An enjoyable read for new believers and long time believers. I definitely wasn't disappointed in this book! Without grace we are lost, and as the authors put it; Grace=God's Riches At Christ's Expense.
"I received a copy of this book from the publisher for the purpose of this review."
This was a really good book. It brought out many things about God's grace & love for us. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
Grace is for everyone. In the book Extortionary Grace and the Bible, we learn that grace is not only for the good, but it is also for the ones who are not so good. We read about Characters the start of good but somewhere along the line, have made bad choices and have tripped and fallen. God’s grace effects the characters in the Bible and God can affect us if we allow Jesus to live in us. Learn how we can become agents of grace for God.
Grace is God's love in action. How true that is. Gary Chapman, author of the 5 Love Languages book, has captured the essence of what grace truly is. I loved the book, and it works well for a daily devotional read.
