Dr. Hans Finzel knows from personal experience the key success factors in every new leader's journey. He shows readers:
The two most important words in a leader's vocabulary, The skills a leader needs to communicate effectively, Why today's effective leaders lead with vulnerability, The contrast between servant leadership and slave leadership, How to lead with both passion and humility, The difference between making a mark and leaving a legacy.
In this eminently practical book, new leaders in business, education, ministry, and the church will discover how to lead well and love what they do.
Although some may consider this a typical book on leadership, Finzel does add the perspective of biblical leadership in today’s world. Notice the chapter titles:
“L” Is for Listen and Learn
“E” Is for Emotional Intelligence
“A” Is for Accessibility
“D” Is for Determination
“E” Is for Effective Communication
“R” Is for Resilience
“S” Is for Servant Attitude
“H” Is for Hands-Off Delegation
“I” Is for Integrity
“P” Is for the Power of Humility
I received this book FREE from the author, publisher, distributor, or other source. My only obligation is to provide a fair and honest review.
In the book Top Ten Ways to Be A Great Leader, author and leader Dr. Hans Finzel writes about becoming a great leader. Using the each letter from the word LEADERSHIP, Dr. Finzel gives us great insight on ways to be a better leader. I especially like the Listening and Learning chapter. The listening part challenged me. I would highly recommend this book to anyone, especially young leaders. I received a copy of this e-book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
The book uses the word Leadership to dive into key elements that a leader must have. This book uses biblical models and examples to provide the reader to what a reader must be as a leader. Finzel provides personal examples to lure the reader into trusting his thoughts and finishes with applications and a plan of action. Overall a great read. The book does seem an abbreviated version of its source, but does provide tons of references for the reader to look up.
This took forever to read because I got lazy. I highly recommend this to anybody who is a leader or desires to be a leader or thinks one day they may find themselves in a leadership position! Super practical advice and lots of real world examples and stories to learn from!

This is a very good and robust reading for both beginner level leaders and experienced leaders. Leadership is explained and exemplified in a modern and professional manner by a man that leads people and organizations. I recommend this book with all my heart to all the leaders that want to be better.
Today I finished reading Hans Finzel’s “Top Ten Ways to be a Great Leader”. There are always new things to learn about being a good leader; always great principles to re-learn or be reminded of. This is a good book to do both.
An easy to read reminder of ways that a leader should be. A good reminder to care about your employees, be available, delegate, humility,etc... It is good to read about book like this every year if you manage employees.
Such a needed word on leadership. Every chapter is needed and helpful for what it takes to lead. Read this book and learn how to be a leader to other leaders that will raise up even more leaders.
Good book on leadership. There are definitely some great principles in there for pastors and leaders in the church. You may not agree with everything he said or every use of Scripture, but overall, it was a great and helpful read.
Loved this book, such good insight, examples and practical help in becoming a great leader. All leaders at all levels would benefit from reading this book.
Its a great book on Leadership with simple use of words one could easily remember. The basic principles as spelt our in Leadership can easily be remembered in our day to day lives..
Lots of applicable things in here. Anyone who picks up this book will be able to take away something to improve their leadership skills, regardless of age or experience.
An excellent book on leadership traits and how to's in the way of leading others. Great tips and an awesome venue for teaching those in non-leadership roles, but even the lowly can be leaders of men/women! A welcomed book on the subject matter.
The measuring bar for me to call something a great book is that it genuinely teaches me something. To call a book a must read the book has to actually impact me enough that it changes the way I do something in my life. This book is a must read for a leader in any capacity or anyone that hopes to be a leader. There is too much to write about to condense into one book review but I will tell you that the pieces of this book that talked about emotional intelligence really made me reevaluate some things about myself as a leader, and about how I allow the emotional issues that surround some of my staff and volunteers impact the way we work. As a church leader, emotions are sometimes a more apparent part of what goes on day in and day out and the author really gave me some insight in this area. The rest of the book is fantastic as well. The material in this book on servant leadership is also a step above most of the material I have read before as well. I said it once and I will say it again. This book is a must read for leaders.
