Etyma Afroasiatica Nova: Roots with Initial Labials (*b-,*p-,*f-,*m-)

Rate this book
This volume presents a piece of the proto-lexicon of Semito-Hamitic or Afro-Asiatic, the language macrofamily with the oldest records in world history. The reconstruction of the underlying parental language is, however, a little cultivated and endangered field known to very few researchers, whose number hardly exceeds one dozen all over the world (half of them is retired) in spite of relatively better established positions of inner Semitological, Egyptological, Berberological, Cushitological, Omotic, and Chadic comparative research. There have been a few attempts in the 1990s by the Russian linguists at reconstructing the root inventory of proto-Semito-Hamitic (proto-Afro-Asiatic), which the present project continues. The volumes of this project contain proto-roots not yet published therein.
