So disappointed. I don't even know what to think right now. Freaking caterpillars! Really?
It's been days since I've finished this one and I still can't wrap my head around it. This was probably the most anticipated book of the year for me and it was an abysmal failure for me. I've never seen a series start off so strong, only to tank so dramatically. What the hell happened?
Aside from the ridiculous epilogue, which took a "meh" book and made it downright horrible, there were several problems. First of all, The characters completely lost themselves somewhere along the way. This began to happen in the second book, but by this one you couldn't even recognize them.
Elizabeth had completely lost her marbles. Gone was the strong-minded survivor that captivated us in 'Bang'. She's transitioned into a weak, emotional wreck. To top it off, her best scenes featured her dialogue with her own hallucinations! I may have hated her before, but now I just pity her.
Similarly, Declan has morphed into an altogether different character. While he started out as the protector, he has become the abuser. This was especially apparent in 'Echo', when he degrades and sodomizes Elizabeth, but continues in 'Hush' to a lesser degree. Suddenly, he's this intimidating, scary guy. It just didn't work for me. I wanted the old Declan back.
In his death, Pike seems to have turned a new leaf as well. Now, he's the number one defender of Declan? WTF! He did try to kill him after all! Given, his character was a product of Elizabeth's special brand of crazy on this book, but no.
After weaving such a complex and twisted story in the first two books, it felt like the author was just ready to be done with the story and wanted to tie up any loose ends in a hurry. Overly simplistic and completely unbelievable events transpired, as if only serving to tie everything up with a bow. It was like she just grew sick of the story and just wanted to wash her hands of it. Nothing made this more obvious than that horrible epilogue.
Overall, this book was a complete and utter disappointment for me. If I wanted to revisit 'Alice In Wonderland' I would have done so. While the first two books were great, the series crashed and burned with this one. I'm sorry to see it end this way, but it is what it is.

I don't know what to say or what to feel. I'm just kind of heart broken but mostly sad... I wish everything turns out better for them but life is unfair and thanks to E.K.Blair, she reminded me this fact with that ending... When I read last chapter of the book first I thought thank fucking God, finally something is good thing will happen, there is still goodness in this world like two broken people can heal each others wounds when they're together but nope life is just bitch! That epilogue, that ending just gave me a hard slap to my face. It hurts. I finished the book almost 24 hours ago but it still so much fucking hurts. My heart hurts. My brain hurts. Every fucking cells in my body just hurts... But still I will never be sorry to read this series... Never...
Ps. I guess for a while I just need to read some fairytales, hearts & flowers type of shit... I don't even care if some dragon fly away with unicorn... That will make me happy.

H.O.R.R.I.B.L.E
There are dark books which are amazing and then there is THIS.
Disgusting.
Its dark to a very disgusting level. The author went a little ham with making the book extra dark, like a little extreme in some departments.
This book was just sex, stupidity and idk what.
AND THAT MOTHER FUCKING ENDING.
THIS BOOK WAS TRIPPING ON SOME LSD, especially that epilogue. Horrible.
I would not recommend this book to anyone. The first two books were decent, the author writes well... but its better to pass it all because its just not worth it, especially with this last book and that ENDING..

**2 disappointing stars**
“You’re not my martyrdom. You’re my profligacy.”
This last book in the The Black Lotus serie blew my mind. And not in the good way.
No really come on; this was full of contradictions:
Elizabeth, being the vicious manipulating, conniving queen of high society looses her mind, and starts talking to ghost Pike making her just a sorry-excuse of a human being. She suddenly is not able to think for herself and seemed to have no back bone!
Declan, being the fierce protector who killed Bennet the so-called-abuser, became the abuser. In Echo he humiliates, degrades and sodomizes Elizabeth and in Hush he is a bit less of a abuser, but still handles her roughly, dominates her to the level that she is scared of him.
Are you scared?” he asks, kicking my thighs open.
“Yes.”
“Good,” he says chillingly. “I want your eyes on me. I want you watching me as I fuck all that fear away.”
And than ghost Pike, the one who beat Elizabeth into the hospital to the point she miscarries and the one who shot Declan now is Declan's advocate? Yes! Of course!
And the epilogue?? OMG, if I wanted to give this final episode a 3* rating, the epilogue made it a 2*.
And to make it more unbelievable, this HEA the only innocent one in this story, Bennet, is no-where to be seen....
The first episode, Bang had me on the edge of my seat, but the next two? Just no! I had really high expectations going into this serie and was really utterly disappointed.
O, and "I am so jealous of your dead husband, whom I killed, so you have to give away the 1,2 billion" Of course! 🙄

I felt like EK lost some of her dark edginess compared to the first two novels. Is there anguish, oh yeah in buckets, but the tone of the story is different. Slower paced, grief filled, living in the past. I think the hardest thing for me to accept was Elizabeth's obsession with Pike. In the last book she was fearful of him, used their time as a means of cleansing. But the more demanding he got, the more Elizabeth distance herself. So I'm at a loss as to why she clung as hard as she did to his ghost. The ending epilogue I won't go into any details...but ahhh no. If you want further reasons PM me.

I DONT THINK I CAN WAIT ANOTHER 12 MONTHS FOR BOOK 3!!!! EK BLAIR IS BRILLANT!!!!
4th May.....Wow! No words at the moment. If EK Blair was after shock value she certainly delivered it in spades. My beloved Declan and Elizabeth. I was cheering for them, praying that it would work out. Surely Elizabeth deserved a little reparation, peace and freedom from a painful, tormented childhood?! What a convoluted mess. I feel really sad, confused and disappointed. Oh well.

What...the... HELL!?
What happened to the awesome-ness that started in "Bang"?! The obvious abuse Declan was doing put me on edge; however, I knew Elizabeth and Declan's relationship was very unhealthy and flawed, so I could push through it. However, Elizabeth just seemed to always fucking cry! Every other page, she cried. Yes, I get that she’s been through some fucked up shit, but she was perfectly strong and capable in the first book.
The only time I got really interested was when she found her father’s new name after scrambling it. She found out how to find him and finally had a reunion. That was the only best part, sad to say.
And that ending!! Holy shit I have never felt so flabbergasted at a book. Declan proposes to Elizabeth and…an old enemy of her father’s kills them!? Oh no no no no! If that wasn’t a cop out, I don’t know what one is.
Ms. Blair, hell no! You held me by the nipples for nearly 2 whole years and this is how you wrap things up? You made Elizabeth go through every bad thing possible. Soooo, what, was this all you had left? “Hmm what can I do now? She’s been raped and mentally, emotionally and physically abused as a child, humiliated beyond all reason, kidnapped and raped again and tormented, beaten and raped/sodomized AGAIN by the man she loves… Oh! I’ll just kill her and make her into a caterpillar!”

FIVE STARS.
E.K. Blair is a literary mastermind, and the epic conclusion to the Black Lotus series solidifies her place at the top. Haunting, mysterious, and flat-out incredible, Hush truly delivers, and every reader should expect to feel the same thrilling emotion we all experienced during Bang and Echo. Only better, because all of your questions are finally answered.
As sad as I am to leave these characters behind, I know that EK will continue to write novels that think outside the box. I can't wait.

E.K. Blair uses her artistic license with this book, that is for sure. There is nothing straight forward about it. If you’re the type of reader that likes to read “outside the box” and doesn’t need a traditional ending, you may very well enjoy this book and series, you may even think it’s bloody brilliant. But if you’re the type of reader that wants a safe book with a straight forward ending, this probably isn’t the series for you.
I can see why many romance readers dislike this book. Honestly, if E.K. Blair took out most of the sex and had just labeled it a psychological thriller, it probably would have a higher rating. So if you are a romance reader and expect certain things in your books, this won’t be the series for you.
I’m the type of reader that likes twists and turns, vague endings, and sad endings. This series made me think and put my analytical hat on. I thought the ending was extremely interesting, and in a way, comforting. After all Elizabeth had been through, it brought me comfort.

The ending of Echo really left us hanging and wondering who in the heck got off that plane. Well, we don't have to wait any longer. E.K.B. fills us in right from the start.
And I guess that was a good thing, both Elizabeth and Declan need some healing time...both physically and emotionally. However, they both handle things the way they have in the past...at least initially. Unfortunately, I'm not sure I really felt their connection.
I was happy to see how they both grew...it was really necessary. But Jaysus....what in the hell is wrong with Elizabeth?! Some serious therapy would have helped.
One thing I was happy about was that E.K.B. really catches us up on what's happened so there's really no need to reread the last book. Another was thank goodness this book was not as gross as the others...in fact, it was really mild.
There were a few things that bothered me. At times, it almost seemed as if there was a different "voice" to the book...some of the lines were out there and even a little cheesy. I don't think I've ever used my kindle dictionary so much! And I just don't think I liked what happened to pretty much everybody.
Can't end this review without mentioning that epilogue....this about sums it up:
The ending of Echo really left us hanging and wondering who in the heck got off that plane. Well, we don't have to wait any longer. E.K.B. fills us in right from the start.
And I guess that was a good thing, both Elizabeth and Declan need some healing time...both physically and emotionally. However, they both handle things the way they have in the past...at least initially. Unfortunately, I'm not sure I really felt their connection.
I was happy to see how they both grew...it was really necessary. But Jaysus....what in the hell is wrong with Elizabeth?! Some serious therapy would have helped.
One thing I was happy about was that E.K.B. really catches us up on what's happened so there's really no need to reread the last book. Another was thank goodness this book was not as gross as the others...in fact, it was really mild.
There were a few things that bothered me. At times, it almost seemed as if there was a different "voice" to the book...some of the lines were out there and even a little cheesy. I don't think I've ever used my kindle dictionary so much! And I just don't think I liked what happened to pretty much everybody.

Okay let's start with something possitive okay?
I love this series since the first book came out, I've waited like a year to get the third book in my hands, I went to the freaking extense of buying a personalized silver lotus necklace, 'cause ..let's face it: the first book does make honor to the real meaning of that flower....but all of this , all of IT I'm saying it to show how fucking much I LOVED this book!!!!
Now I won't butcher this book 'cause it doesn't deserve it!
It was a GOOD BOOK! not a great book, not what I expected!, but wasn't bad either....until we got to the very end, of course
A few pages less, seriously just a few pages less and everything would have gone great! Leave us ,the readers, to wonder what the hell would have happened...but not like this, pleaaaaaaaaaaseeeee!

OMG!!! Expect even MORE surprises and twists from E.K. Blair!!! Never in a million years did I see these developments coming. A tense thriller but with the deep, unbreakable love between Declan and Elizabeth at the center of the story.

Hush is the last installment in the very dark story of characters that I will not soon forget. If you have waited until all the books are out in this series, well, wait no more! I highly recommend this highly imaginative and incredibly twisted series. All of the hype surrounding these books is very well-deserved, in my opinion. Nina/Elizabeth, Declan, Bennett, Pike…I grew to care deeply about each and every one. I will never forget this conclusion to this series. While I am saddended that this is the end of the series, I cannot wait to see what E.K. Blair dreams up next.

I am being vague because there is an incredibly risky and very surprising conclusion to this series and it must be experienced first-hand while reading, without knowing any spoilers. Don’t skip to the end!! It has been days since I finished this book and these characters are still filling my head and my heart. Don’t miss HUSH and don’t miss the BLACK LOTUS Series. You won’t soon forget these stories.

This book... this series... where do I even begin when it comes to putting pen to paper and writing a review about a story that has consumed so many of us? That has taken ahold of our emotions, our feelings and our every last nerve and held them hostage for the last couple of years? How do I even communicate my thoughts on a series that has left us gasping, in shock and on the edge of our seats with what has almost felt like a slap in the face time and time again? The Black Lotus series... this journey really has been one hell of an amazing, explosive, crazy ass ride and part of me can't believe that it's actually over. I've read the final instalment, turned the last page and devoured every single word and now I feel a little empty... a little hollow and I can absolutely understand why tears were shed by this wonderful author when she said her final farewells to the characters that have taken over her life (and ours for that matter) for so long.
In "Hush," EK Blair really did give us the perfect conclusion to Elizabeth's story. It was the right ending and for that, I can't thank this author enough. There was so much I loved about this book and in particular the last few chapters, so much that made it feel almost realistic and believable and I think that (in part) is what had me reading this book in one go!!!
For me, the tone of "Hush" felt a little different to "Bang" and "Echo." Both of these two books were high energy and fast paced, with our hearts pounding with ever of turn of every page, the "not knowing which way the story would go" almost killing us with nervous anticipation. Don't get me wrong, I didn't get away with it completely scot free. Oh please... this is EK Blair we are talking about!!! There were still those thrills, spills the curveballs that left me gobsmacked. And don't forget the revelations that left me my jaw dropping and those heart stopping moments that had my palms sweaty and had shivers running down my spine. But overall, this final journey to a ?HEA felt almost quieter as characters tried to come to terms with all they had been through, all they had endured and all they had done. No one was guilt free. No one character had less blood on their hands but what transpired in "Hush" really did feel like a natural progression to the story that was being told.
"Hush" was a book that saw so many changes in the characters. I saw them evolve and morph, showing me sides to their personalities I never could have imagined existed. I saw vulnerability in those who had always been a force to be reckoned with and fear and weakness in those who had always appeared courageous, strong and confident. On top of that, I found my feelings towards certain characters change too. At the start of this series, we had all taken sides... Bennett, Declan or Pike!!!! I had made my choice and I was sticking to it. However, this book really did make me soften towards those that I hadn't particularly liked or cared for initially and I actually found myself suddenly drawn to certain individuals and flying their flag. (Who'd have thought, right?)
We're serpents who feed off one another for sole survivorship.
We're everything love is meant to be.
In this final instalment, loyalties continued to be questioned and tested and of course the lies and deception were never far away but this time, motives had changed and it was no longer just about revenge. There was so much more at stake and so much more to lose. The question was, would any of the characters we'd grown to know and love come out on top. Would anyone actually be a winner????
The "Black Lotus" series is one that I won't forget in a long time. In fact I can imagine readers will still talk about it (with the same passion they do today), in years to come. The writing, the words, the characters, the risks this author took when giving us Elizabeth's story. Honestly, I take my hat off to EK Blair because she really did go where other authors would definitely hesitate. Was it a risk worth taking? Absolutely because she had the readers eating out of the palm of her hand. We just couldn't get enough. She toyed with our hearts and minds, made us question right and wrong and still had us coming back for more!!! And why wouldn't we? My mind has officially been blown by "Bang, Echo and Hush" and now I'm off for some therapy... lol.

April 28, 2016Antes que nada quiero disculparme con la gente a quien le recomendé la serie. No sabía, después de leer el primero, que la historia se iba a degenerar en ésto. Mea Culpa. Si hay alguien por acá que la haya empezado a leer por culpa de mi recomendación, siéntanse libres de mandarme a la mierda, no me voy a ofender.
En fin...
Confieso que no lo leí entero, me salteé varios capítulos. Así y todo, lo poco que sufrí fue suficiente para descartar la historia entera.
El primer libro fue ridículo pero entretenido. Los protagonistas, una hipérbole de las novelas de venganza a lo Avenida Brasil o a lo Revenge. Entretenido, sí, pero, al fin y al cabo, un disparate sin pies ni goyete. A continuación, spoilers del primer libro:
¿Suena ridículamente entretenido, no?
El segundo libro fue ofensivo a más no poder y, OK, yo me considero una persona bastante tolerante con ciertos temas (me gusta Crepúsculo!! Me gustan muchos poemas de Bukowski!!! Me gustan algunas canciones de Tan Biónica!! Me paso de tolerante a veces), pero, a pesar de eso, hay vueltas de tuerca que no me van; hay giros que no siempre sientan bien a los personajes. La caracterización es importante, la gente no cambia de un segundo a otro! Entiendo que es ficción, pero al menos escribí personajes creíbles!! (Ya llevo muchos !!!!) Lamentablemente, los protagonistas se volvieron un chiste, la trama un desfile de violencia explícita sin sentido. Ninguna escena de violación aportó nada a la historia principal- aunque no sé si alguna vez, en cualquier libro, una violación explícita es esencial a la trama... a menos que sea un libro erótico basado en éso, el cual no estoy segura que sea el punto de esta serie.
Ahora, el tercer libro es lisa y llanamente, una locura. Nada tiene sentido. Nada es creíble, nada. El final es tan estúpido que me dio vergüenza ajena estar leyéndolo. Es todo, todo DEMASIADO ridículo!! Las escenas de sexo (porque, obviamente, siendo la clase de lectora que soy, no puedo NO LEER las escenas de sexo... you know, for science) fueron un cliché tras otro; la prosa, un desastre, del estilo Pepper Winters, donde quien escribe quiere pasar por poético pero sólo

E.K. Blair has done it again. She has given us a beautiful conclusion to this series of revenge, deceit, betrayal, and love. Hush kept my heart racing, my palms sweating, my heart melting, and my jaw dropping.
Just when I thought I had the story or characters figured out, Blair threw another curve ball that would throw me for a loop. With two stellar books before it in the series, Hush had a lot to live up to, and I'm thrilled to say it didn't disappoint. The complexity of the plot and diversity of the characters is awe inspiring and E.K. Blair should be immensely proud of herself for not only delivering another solid product, but for giving us a kick ass conclusion to a kiss ass story.
I give this book 5 black-souled stars.

Final rate: 2.5 / 5 stars
It started out really light. I thought it's a break after all the mind-fucking twist, brutality and cringe worthy suspense. Letting these broken characters healed from the emotional and physical pain.
Then there's that ending..
I'm speechless for minutes and it took me a while to think about my rating. The story ended up really weird, insane, unanswered and cruel. I mean it could have been a GOOD TWIST, it's just that....I have a different picture of how it's going to end (I cannot control that though). I'm a bit disappointed on how everything turned out.
I mean.. WHAT THE HECK IS THAT ENDING?!
HOW CAN THIS.. WHAT??? QUE QUE QUE?
I feel betrayed at some point and it hurts.
I've waited for this finale. Fudging crazy evil fairy tales.
It started out really light. I thought it's a break after all the mind-fucking twist, brutality and cringe worthy suspense. Letting these broken characters healed from the emotional and physical pain.
Then there's that ending..

This book has left me in a complete state of utter disbelief and a serious case of WTFness!
I don't even know what to say right now to be honest. This picked up right after "Echo" so we got to see who was the mysterious person getting off the plane. I liked that the author didn't waste any time with that part and the story flowed well. First 40% of the book? Good. I was liking it and the mystery only added to it. Sadly this went downhill from there. And I mean DOWNHILL.
Everything became OTT and Nina pissed me off to no end. I know she's not the same person as she was in "Bang" but her weakness irked me. I wanted her to be stronger and take charge. As I continued reading, I quickly learned that her weakness was the least of my problems with this story. I'm so fucking mad right now I can't even tell you. I'm really dissapointed in this one which sucks because I expected way more.
Now as for that god aweful epilogue?!
I know for a fact I wasn't drinking at all while reading this sh*t. That was by far the craziest ending I've ever read and I'll leave it at that.

I'm sitting here trying to digest what I just read. There are so many tears coming from my eyes that I'm not sure I'm even spelling words correctly. I thought Bang and Echo ripped open my heart, well Hush destroyed it. I understand now what E.K. went through writing this book. As a reader and fan of hers for over 2 years, Hush was the hardest to read. Knowing it's the last book and seeing Elizabeth finally happy with Declan and glimpse of Pike made it extra hard. I loved this book so much and my heart is conflicted. I can't say much or I will ruin it for you and everyone needs to read Hush! It's so beautiful, raw, emotional and heartbreaking at the same time that you can tell E.K. Blair poured her heart and soul into Hush. There are not enough words to express my love that I have for the whole series but Hush is the one that made me fall deeper in love.

Ok so this series had me from the fist words and all the way up to "Marry Me" & "Yes"...after that....after I read the most fucking ridiculous ending in the history of books...I actually blanked out for a moment after it was over and threw my phone across my room!!! WTF does not even come close to explaining my confusion. I don't understand. I'm mad as fucking hell. I want to literally punch this author in the head. How???? Why???? Please for the love of the literature Gods, someone explain to me how this amazing story not only went off the rails but was struck head on blindingly by the crazy train? I get Elizabeth's little "breakdown" & I get her gravitational pull towards her quirky little childhood imaginary bug friend but how can this ending be legitimate? I'm now being redundant & I'm sorry but I just don't see how this talented of a person lost their damn mind in the end & wrote a crap ending that had NOTHING to do with anything. If they were rushed to end it then I'm sure the fans would have much rather the project be shelved until an ending WORTHY of such a great story could be penned.
Does the author not get that these last few pages completely & totally 100% wiped out this entire series??? I'm ok with not always getting the HEA of my hearts desire but this? Readers were robbed. I want my money back & the series wiped from my mind because the author destroyed it by their own hand. So much going on from the jump it was almost too much & a bit overwhelming...to the point at times it was getting unbelievable, but it was so intriguing to see where these two were going to end up. Now I just want to get my own illusion & pretend none of this ever happened.

If you haven't read 'Echo' & 'Bang' yet, stop here. Read them first, then come on back.
Like everyone else, I was waiting to gorge myself on 'Hush' & get some freaking answers. Who was dead? Who would live? How would life be in the midst of this on going chaotic circus? I could say SOOO MUCH but it wouldn't be enough, we do pick up right where we left off on that mother of a cliff-hanger that ended 'Bang'. We start getting some answers right away, along with even more questions!
I think diving right in is the way to go. You want to go down this rabbit hole all on your own. As I read, I got swept up once again in Ms. Blair's mind twisting roller coaster of a story and i really wanted to like this as much as the first two but i hated the ending! I realize there were a million loose ends to tie up but i felt the ending wasn't realistic. I had a love/hate relationship with many of the characters. I had high hopes for the ending. I think if the ending stayed true to the rest of the story, i would have liked it more, but thats just me!
