Recent college graduate, Jacob Levy, is bringing his cousin home from college when they both witness a sudden flash of light in the sky. After dropping his cousin off, Jacob finds himself in a terrifying situation as he stumbles upon the source of the bright white light.
That source? Bena-drez, an alien known as a Traveler who had been scouting Earth from above its atmosphere. After a mechanical failure, Bena-drez found himself stranded on the planet he was sent to study. The light-purple skinned Adonis was now stuck and could find no one to turn to for help.
Their ensuing connection is immediate and powerful. Ben awakens a new side of Jacob, a side he never dreamed he had. Can Jacob come to terms with the new but startlingly powerful feelings? Can Bena-drez find some help, and possibly something more, with Jacob or is their meeting just destined for a galactic catastrophe?
This M/M Sci-Fi Romance is a complete story with no cliff-hanger and contains scenes that are bound to make you see stars. Recommended for 18+
This was really short, shallow and cliched, pretty silly and could have used an editor. But it was steamy and kind of fun so I think I'm up for reading the next books in the series. They are longer and are MPregs (which are books I'm always curious about). I hope the next ones are fleshed out a bit more.
I have received this story from the author in exchange of a review.
It is a short story, too short in fact for a full boded review. I can't say that I liked it much, mostly due to the fact that some of the things happening in the story were not logical (and, no, I am not talking about a purple alien). The narrative was raw, there was no character development, or plot development for that matter.
It's a cute, steamy bit of science fiction. I'm giving it a rating of three stars simply because of how fast everything moved within the story. There is not worldbuilding, it one of those lust-at-first-sight kind of stories and quickly moves to sex and then sappy devotional monologue with no build-up. If you want a quick read with some hot sex and schmoopy love-declarations, this is the one for you. One of the MC's being an alien hardly even matters in this story as not much is done with the alien storyline other than some biological quarks, so it's hardly worthy of the science fiction genre. It was enjoyable, but skippable.
Although it feels unfinished. Guess have to wait and see if we glean anything else on this pair when Jacob's neighbor meets his own traveler in the next book.
Oh, and considering this is the first time Jacob has ever felt attracted to another male, the sexual pace seemed just right, with the first encounter he's experiencing top sensations. No that doesn't mean the next is an automatic switch.. a little more slowly than that with learning a new taste on his knees.
It was steamy and sort of cute with a good premise but weakened by some believability issues. I was bothered by how many holes that there were in the story--I don't want to list examples and spoil anything for other readers (especially if you don't pick up on the same holes). The ending is a HFN and really kind of leaves you hanging with LOTS of questions. There were occasional editing/proofing issues including a few slips into first person, but nothing too bad. I would still try other things by this author. Rating 2.5
Has lots of potential as a series. EDIT, EDIT, EDIT. I'm a reader, not a writer, but even I know something's wrong when he, his and they become me, mine and we. There's also an entire paragraph that's repeated but slightly different. I'm surprised the ARC readers didn't point this out. I don't usually draw attention to this kind of stuff but I have high hopes for this series, I really want it to succeed.
I believe this was the first book for the author so this was okay. Not great, but worth the hour or so it took me to read it. I've read a two other books by Max that have been really strong so I know there is potential.
As for this book, I like the story concept itself, but there were a lot of holes of things unexplained or illogical. Yes, I know it's an alien story, but that wasn't the parts that didn't seem to click.
I really enjoyed the story of Jacob & Ben the alien. It was a fun, feel good read. Jacob struggles with his feelings & reactions to Ben, never having been with a man (or alien) before. I liked the chemistry between the two men. I look forward to reading more from this series.
For a beginning author this was a good story and a fast read. The characters (Ben & Jacob) attraction was well displayed but I would have liked a little more history on both. This was a good start to a new series with some hot m/m scenes. I look forward to reading the next installment with hopes of seeing more history on Ben & Jacob with crazy friends revisited.
I really liked this story. I love alien stories and for sure, this is one of my favourite. This book was very hot. The dialogue was well-paced, the story moved along quickly and I read in one sitting. I would totally recommend this book. There was plenty of humour and the MCs were very likable.
This was a cute alien story....nothing heavy just life and sweet....unless wish we got more from Ben but im off to book 2 so maybe we'll have more backstory in the aliens....
There were aspects of this book that showed real promise, and I did enjoy some elements of the story, but overall it was so amateurish, messy, and corny, that it was difficult to finish. The writing is incredibly simple, the pacing of the story was off, and strained all credibility, and perhaps worst of all, it's too many "tropes" thrown into one short story. "Straight-guy-turns-gay," because he is his "fated-mate" an also an alien.
1.5/5. Bumped up a bit despite my serious frustrations with the book, as the sex was steamy and the overall read was fun, if sometimes feeling forced. I hope he gets some writing classes/lessons, and a very aggressive editor, and improves.
