Big Bad Bunnies #1

Chasing His Bunny

Rate this book
The bunnies are coming...

Bethany Bunson, her brothers, and her sister have been prisoners for seven long years. They've been experimented on, tested, and changed - all of them can turn into monsters. So when a band of shifter soldiers show up and save them, it's kind of a mixed blessing, especially when the leader of the shifters claims he's her mate. Yeah... she's a 23 year old virgin whose never had a real boyfriend. The whole "one guy forever" thing is just something that she's not ready for, no matter how good he smells. However, Mr. Not-Gonna-Take-No-For-An-Answer doesn't seem like he's going to give up that easily.

When the government hired Steele Raymond and his soldiers to recover stolen research from a compound, they had not been expecting to find prisoners there, and he definitely hadn't been expecting Bethany. The alpha of a motley pack of mixed shifters had given up on ever finding a mate. The kind of independent, strong women he was attracted to always found him too bossy, too alpha, too protective, and preferred to not deal with him at all. Lucky for him, Bethany is exactly the kind of female he's always wanted, and isn't just someone he's dating and hoping to bond with, she's his fated mate. Most shifters give up on ever finding their fated mates, but it's his lucky day... even though she's clearly going to require some convincing. But he's got the biological urge of the mate bond and some serious tenacity on his side. Bethany's going to be his - and he's going to protect her and her family from the evil bastards who have been keeping them prisoner and experimenting on them.

Chasing His Bunny is a full-length novel, approximately 43k words long, with a HEA, and has an alpha male and a seriously sassy female who spend some time heating up the sheets in vivid detail.

It was funny and quirky.
I would have enjoyed it a lot more if it didn't have so many typo & editing errors.
The author had the heroine referring to the hero as Mr. This-And-That throughout the story.

Here is an example: "Mr. Over-Protective-and-Bossy (-and-Still-Naked)

Most of these were witty and funny, but a number of them were to long and it was overused.

All and all it was a fun read & I will be exploring more of this author's work. This one is a stand alone with an HEA. So each book in this series is a different couple. It definitely has promise.

Btw, my copy was either instafreebie or bookfunnel and that could actually be part of the problem with the typos & editing problems. They have a tendency to give out unedited copies.

So, I read the Stag story before book 1 and 2. So, I decided to go back and see what I was missing because it seemed a bit.

Oh boy....does Steele have his work cut out for him! Bethany is quite the little...err big bunny. She's sooo cute and a strong female. Considering what her and her brothers and little sister have been through she's pretty damn awesome. No real opportunities to meet and spend time with men while in captivity well she's ready to kinda let loose a little. Now, I have to say she DID have an opportunity to be bred but she said hell NO. Who wants to get it on in those conditions?! Only one wee wittle problem. An alpha wolf who didnt want a mate but when he got a whiff of Bethany all bets were off! Steele is as Alpha as they come. He's grumpy and broody and likes it that way. Hell no will his mate continue to deny him! He'll win her over his way! Ha..wonder how THAT works for him?!

Loved the book and will read #2.

Holy Smokes Batman! It’s Hybrid Shifters!

Before starting this series, I read Night of the Wild Stags so I sort of knew what to expect. Still…it didn't prepare me for the Bunson siblings, especially Bethany and Bailey.

Bethany and her way of naming people was hilarious! I loved all the things she called Steele although he did have a good one for her, little bunny foo-foo. I love Steele as much as Bethany. He was patient with her and wanted to her to feel safe and loved. His comfort and care for Bethany's little sister, Bailey, was sweet as well.

I like the twist on fated mates that Ms. Angel used in her shifter universe. It’s different and gives the characters more choice and control which I really enjoyed.

Loved the Monty Python references sprinkled throughout the book especially what Bethany called Bailey after she shifted for the first time.

While this book and series does have its fair share of drama and suspense, it's light-hearted and comedic at the core. It's about the relationships more than fighting the evil doctor and his employer.

I have to admit that I am a very eclectic reader and can enjoy just about everything (even westerns - if written by the right author) and this is my first Golden Angel book.

Bethany and the rest of the Bunsons are having their first taste of freedom and are relishing it. "Steele" definitely had to work hard to get his bunny to fall in line(she really doesn't but we'll let him think she has ). Bethany being strong willed and having to look after herself and her siblings, doesn't rely on anyone but herself and her family.

I found this a fun read with lots of old pop culture references (remember the Bunsons have been captive for 7 years). Some hot sex, some shifter battle action, some funny banter and thoughts, and a very wide range of shifters, that are very comfortable running around in their birthday suits, made for a I-could-not-put-it-down (read the book - you'll understand) story.

This was a fun "Big Bad Bunnies" shifter story. It is erotica but has a really good story going of being experiments and having a different shifting ability. They don't understand shifter rules and ways and being claimed as a mate immediately, Bethany rebels. Still, she is very attracted to this man so maybe it'll be just a bit of play. In the end, what will he think when he discovers her secret?

Well, a different version of shifters, with killer bunnies, fated mates and a mad scientist who engages some empathy from his victims. There were so many plot devices, most of them silly/funny but somehow the story kept me reading. It's not my favourite by this author, and not sure I'll buy any more in the series but it was fun.

First read by this author and first in series.

After being held captive for 7 years with her siblings and experimented on the Bunson family are finally set freebut a group of shifters.
With her her brothers going off to train, to assist their rescuers, Bethany stays back with their youngest sibling whilst she recovers from recent experiments. Hoping at a chance of a normal life, as normal as a mutant bunny shifter, can have it quickly becomes clear that the leader of the rescuers has his eyes set on his mate and protecting her.

Short and sweet. This is a pretty great shifter book, the plot was original and I liked the fact that the focus was on ‘prey’ shifters... whondoesnt love the though of giant rabbits!!!
My only grumble was the extreeme overuse of ‘mr tall-dark and sexy’ ‘mr sneaky and sexy’ ‘mr hunky and cooks’ when Bethany was having her personal monologues. They drove me a bit potty.

I'm a sucker for shifter books, especially if they are odd animal shifters. This one called to me and I was able to grab it free a few months ago. Today was the day I decided to give it a try. I got about 40% in and gave up. I liked the siblings, were glad that they were rescued but the book lost me when Bethany went to Steele's house for a date. Steele realized they were mates during the rescue and gave her a bit of space. It's a few days later and now they have a date. I'm ok so far, but when all of a sudden Bethany started shouting out "Do Me", I just can't. I think the reason why this didn't work for me was that Bethany is 18 years old and has been held captive for the last 7 years. What in the hell does a person in that circumstances know??? This one just wasn't for me.

I could not wrap my head around how this shifter romance would work. I mean, how could a killer bunny and wolf shifter even work? Yet, it did. There was humor, suspense, and steamy times. I'm impressed. There was a lot of details in a novella. I would have loved it even more had it been fleshed out and made even longer.

Surprisingly Fluffy Read

I saw this book was on sale for free and decided to give it a shot. Chasing His Bunny was pretty cute overall. I liked all the main characters and I will keep checking to see if the rest of the series gets added to Kindle unlimited.

Wow - that was the fluffiest fun in combination with a big bad bunny 🐰 that could be dreamed of.
Perfect entertaining, thrilling and captivating and oh so good!

Let's hop to the next bunny, even if it totally messes up the planned Want-To-Read order, the fun must go on, I don't mind.

This was an interesting take on the traditional shifter romance. I liked that Steele created a community accepting of all types of shifter...badger, bear, lion, camel, squirrel...etc.

I felt for Bethany and her siblings. They've through some very hard times, but are slowly learning to live with their strange transformations.

Chasing His Bunny by Golden Angel is a wolf-shifter fated mate romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Jim Pelletier. This is the first book in the Big Bad Bunnies series.

This is the first book of Golden's that I have read and it won't be my last. I really enjoyed the relationship that bloomed between Bethany and Steele.

I can't wait to dive into the next book Chasing His Squirrel so I can get Brady and Jesse's story.

Jim did a good job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of his work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like paranormal romances.

Fun idea but not consistent

So the idea behind this story is really good. But the author can't seem to keep the details straight. She chose to give all the siblings names that started with the letter B and that sounded similar. She's trying too hard to make it quirky. At one point she referred to the younger sister as both Bethany and Bailey within the same paragraph. I re-read it several times to make sure I wasn't the one misunderstanding it (I wasn't). The she proceeded to mix up the brothers ages and personality traits within a couple of paragraphs of each other. At one point saying Brice was the youngest and then saying Brock was youngest just after that. I also didn't even try to keep up with their physical descriptions because they all look so much alike and were described in one big jumble. I very much doubt the author even bothered to keep that consistent. At the beginning of the book the youngest was described as being 13 years old. Then, by the end of the chapter, that 13 year old is checking out an adult man and making him blush (which I assume represents mutual interest). It's revealed just after that that the siblings have been in captivity for 7 years and that the youngest was 13 when they were first captured. So which is it? Is she 13 or is she 20? I'm only a little bit in and I really don't think I can finish this mess. I'm giving 2 stars because what I know of the plot is interesting. But with that many details so badly off before I'm even 25% into the book, I really think it deserves 1 star. Golden Angel, your editor(s), if you had any, did a poor job and you really need to have this gone over again by someone new. If you didn't have an editor for it please get one. This story has real potential.

Brady, Brock, Brice, Bethany and Bailey had all been kidnapped seven years ago. Kept in a laboratory and experimented on. Boys separated from the girls except for a guarded one hour visit per day. At first the boys had agreed to the experiments if they left the girls alone. That worked well for awhile until the day came when there was nothing more that could be accomplished with the boys. That's when Bethany volunteered if they left Bailey, the baby of the family, alone. Yeah, the rescue squad was a day late and a dollar short on that account. One day, only one day before, the doctors had tranqed Bethany and injected Bailey. Now she was going to change into some type of shifter animal like the rest of them. She just didn't know what kind yet. Before they could even leave the facilities after being rescued, the Alpha of the group looked at Bethany and growled 'MINE', causing an inquisition from the brothers.
Golden Angel has a unique ability of giving her characters such quirky, relatable personalities it's easy to fall in love them. This is a completely different shifter story than I've ever read with made the entire scenerio brand new. The story flows with these sexy, quirky shifters while the plot is an under current throughout. I just loved the interaction between Bethany and Steele. I can't imagine anyone who enjoys a good PNR not wanting to reading this book and following the series.

Can werewolf- Steele and bunny hybrid- Bethany come together?

I read Night of the Stags first, then backtracked to this book because it was in the same world. I enjoyed reading about Bethany and Steele who both had appearances in the aforementioned book.
The Bunson's are a family of five siblings, three boys and two girls, who were kidnapped and experimented on for the last seven years. The youngest was only thirteen when they were taken.
Bethany is the older sister. They were rescued by Steele(werewolf alpha) and his group. When Steele first came upon her in the back of the rescue vehicle, his wolf said, "Mine!" While Bethany rejected him outright.
This is about Bethany accepting the animal that was placed inside her as well as catching the doctor responsible for it. Bethany is a very strong alpha type female, while Steele is strong but also protective. They make a great couple.
I am glad that I went back to read this book. If you are looking for shifter stories that are a little on the quirky and funny side as well as some adventure, then this series is for you.

The Bunson family were just any normal shifting family until Dr. Montgomery decided to kidnap the children and experiment on them. They had been tested on for 7yrs. Bethany is the oldest girl. She and her brothers, Brady, Brock, and Brice did everything she could to protect Bailey, the youngest. But they were all experimented on. But then the “cavalry” came to save them, things picked up. Then Bethany saw Steele and all that could be thought of is MATE, MINE. But Bethany didn’t believe in that. Steele, on the other hand DID.

These two are so much fun together. None of the Bunson clan showed the pack what they were. They kept it secret. But the pack already knew about the possible shifting. It was a matter of seeing WHAT they are now. Steele just wanted to protect Bethany and make her his mate. When these two finally got together a big surprise was had. I first read about them when I did the Reverse Harem book, “Night of the Wild Stags.”

Funny - seriously funny - take on a dark shifter theme and c’mon. BUNNIES! (Of a kind you’ve never met before)

Very funny, different type of world...well, okay, there are similarities with some other shifter series, but the humor is unique and the voices are funny and the story is enjoyable, even with its dark subject matter under the surface. Well, not under the surface. I think if you like Zoe Chant’s Tropical series that takes place on an island, there’s a shared theme going on (with at least the first few books).

Follow the Bunson family of three men and two women as they figure out the shifter world they were dragged into and possibly find their true mates. Or not. I have NO idea how this series is going to go.

Take a chance on this series - if you don’t like it, take it up with me in the comments!

*I read this book (and the other one) through Kindle Unlimited, which is why it’s not a Verified Purchase. But I might just change that. Yup.

A new author to me, and a story that I am in love with! A new author to me, but I will be reading the rest of the books in this series for sure! I loved so many things about this book that I can't even begin to break it down. The story is interesting, the plot is tight, and the characters are funny and strong, and the dialogue is funny. It was exciting because of the whole, taking down a mad man thing. It was relateable because the siblings looked out for each other; It was surprising because you didn't really know until like three quarters through, what was different about the siblings and when you find out, well, I was shocked and amused. The fact that Bethany wanted to have a man feast while Steele wanted to keep her to himself was funny. I can't wait to read the next story in this line!

This is a new author for me I picked up through Instafreebie.
Don’t want to give too much away. Though extremely similar in theme to another book I have read, it had enough diversity and humour to keep me reading and interested right till the end. Though this plotline is done to death by many authors, the characters and humour kept me reading on. Glad I did.
Some private company is kidnapping children to use them in genetic testing, using their own nulled shifter genes to create hybrids.
The fact the testing is to help save the lives of shifters that are going extinct was different enough to keep my interest even though this fact did not come out till near the end.
I enjoyed all the characters we meet and the names Bethany had for Steele were very funny.
I have to say I will be looking to read the rest of this series about this family.

Let's add a twist to the shifter world! This is what Golden Angel does in her first book of Big Bad Bunnies. Steele and Bethany are such an interesting pairing that you can't put the book down!

Bethany was a human along with her siblings who have shifter genes in their DNA. They were kidnapped as children and were tested on like lab rats. Steele is an alpha wolf of his own pack who has helped to rescue Bethany and her siblings. Steele recognizes Bethany as his fated mate but Bethany is not about to be controlled after just finding her freedom

I really like the twist of a mutated animal that the Bunson siblings have. I like Bethany's sassiness and the exasperation that Steele goes through trying to understand her. You can definitely see that he cares for her even when he get frustrated!

Bethany thinks she's a monster. She and her siblings are experiments in a laboratory after they were kidnapped from their home. After years of being locked up and used, they're rescued.

Steele and his team of shifters have taken down this laboratory, what they weren't expects was the Bunson siblings. He definitely wasn't expecting to find his mate!!!!

Bethany wasn't expecting Mr. Thinks-He-Can-Tell-Me-What-To-Do-And-Not-In-The-Sexy-Way, Mr. Tall-Dark-and-Looming, Mr. Not-Just-A-Sex-God-But-Also-A-Cook. Steele was never expecting a demanding, brave, resistant woman to be his fated mate.

This book is phenomenal! Bethany keeps Steele on his toes and he shows her that she doesn't have to bottle up her instincts. I went into this book open-minded since I've never really been a shifter kind of reader...well hot damn, I'm reading every last one of Golden Angel's!!!!!

this story was pretty awesome. it was the perfect mix of bad ass humor and steamy romance. Bethany is a tough, no nonsense woman who just wants to protect her baby sister even though her whole family had been in captivity for the last 7 years. instead of letting that crush her spirit it made her stronger and more determined. when she gets out she just wants to be a normal woman and date and such, but Steele steps in and claims her as his mate so that's a no go. he's dominant, bossy and all hard edges but he just wants to protect his new mate and her family. he's decided they've been through enough... but then he has to accept the fact that Bethany is quite capable of standing by his side... I definitely recommend this one.... and I'll probably check out the next one too.

This is the 1st book of 5. I read Night of the Wild Stags first which is book 2.5. I loved that book so I had to start from the beginning.

I wasn't into, or didn't think I was into, shifter series books. This book has confirmed I was wrong. At least I will be reading all of the books that Golden Angel writes in the shifter series.

This book is about Steele finding the Bunson family after they were experimented on for 7 years. Steele blurts out that Bethany is his mate as soon as he sees her. It is a fun and loving story. The author knows how to bring laughter into dark topics.

Golden Angel is rapidly becoming one of my favorite authors. She writes stuff that I really enjoy reading. This book was great. It has a nice mix of sexy times, romance, action, and humor. I mean, just the fact that it's in the Big Bad Bunnies world is pretty much perfect. I mean, just totally funny. I love that. Of course, how the bunnies happen isn't all that funny, in fact, it's downright evil and tragic.

I love how Bethany keeps changing what she calls Steele. Mr. Tall-Dark-And-Bossy, or Mr. whatever. I got a little smile every time I read a new one of those. LOL. Great story. On to the next.
