Moments are fickle. Sometimes all you get is a split second to make a decision. Other times you have what seems like an eternity and what you think is the right choice could be the biggest mistake you ever make.
Rae Kamden and Hudson Tamell have lived in a perfect bubble since the day their relationship was almost destroyed. They’ve laughed, smiled, loved, and moved on from all that has weighed them down in the past. Or so they thought.
After almost a year of bliss, things have suddenly shifted for the worse. Lies are being told, questions are gone unanswered, and nothing is as it should be. Can they mend their relationship and move forward together? Or will they give up on what they thought was their forever?
This is a novella. Approx 40,000 words. It is highly recommended that you read Here's to Tomorrow first. Recommended for 18+ audience for explicit language and sexual situations.
TEAGAN HUNTER writes steamy romantic comedies with lots of sarcasm and a side of heart. She loves pizza, hockey, and romance novels, though not in that order. When not writing, you can find her watching entirely too many hours of Supernatural, One Tree Hill, or New Girl. She’s mildly obsessed with Halloween and prefers cooler weather. She married her high school sweetheart, and they currently live in the PNW.
Here's To Forever is the continuation to Hudson and Rae's story, and obviously cannot be read as a standalone. You have to read Here's To Tomorrow before and if you don't any spoilers at all, you should also read Here's To Yesterday before this one too.
In this novella, Hudson and Rae's blissful relationship is tested. Rae finds out Hudson has been lying to her for a year and when she learns why it becomes even more of a problem.
Even the most perfect couples have fights, have their disagreements, make mistakes. I enjoyed seeing how much these two were willing to go for one another, and watching them work through their issues together, even when apart. They fought for their HEA and it was everything.

This was so overdramatized. And that’s super disappointing because I know Teagan can do better. But I know this was her first series and she’s work out a lot of these growing pains. This was just anticlimactic in general.
Tldr: better emotional depth but I full on don't like the hero after this book and thus the romance didn't really work. The reunion felt rushed and unrealistic I went to this one straight after the first book in the series because it felt weird to read two other couple's stories knowing Hudson and Rae's wasn't finished yet. First, holy hell I missed so much I'm almost scared to go back and read the second book. Second, though the author did a better job of writing emotional depth in this novella (go figure she manages it better in the shorter than the full length books), I am firmly anti Hudson now so I didn't find this a terribly enjoyable read. He's been lying to his live in girlfriend, preparing to propose to her, for over a year. He spends the whole book saying he did it for her and try to see it from his side. But it wasn't his place to do the thing in the first place, her decision on how to deal with her family was hers and hers alone your job was to support her decision no matter how you felt about it and maybe you should've spent a little less time telling every character to see it from your side and try to see it from hers. Now it could be that my anger stems from this being a sensitive topic for me, I'm estranged from my entire family and if someone I loved broke my trust to speak to them behind my back AND lie about it I don't think I'd ever be able to forgive them. Or maybe it's that he did something behind her back he knew would upset her, and lied about it for almost their entire relationship. When she caught on he manipulated her body by using sex to distract her, then her emotions by proposing when she directly asked him what was going on Also It's so fucking patronizing for him to pull the "oh I did it for you" shit. Nah you did it to ease your guilt about your past, you even admitted it though unknowingly. Even if he did want to help her, in a relationship you don't get to just decide you know best when your partner makes a decision about her own family that you disagree with. For whatever reason you may pick from the above rant, their reunion felt really inauthentic. Not just because I didn't like him anymore, his reaction to the beach scene of the first book majorly pissed me off but I also recognized that it was the most realistic reaction his character could've had. He apologized for lying but not the underlying action, or even really his actions to cover up the lies. I didn't buy that he was truly sorry and would avoid lying in the future (he's already had two strikes in that department) I also didn't really buy her reaction to the whole thing. Sure the initial anger/depression and even the missing him but it felt like their road back together was rushed, a patch slapped on the crack rather than repairing the foundation. I will be reading the second book so we'll see how that goes.
This is a top 5 Forever stars! Here's to Forever is a Novella about the continuation of Rae and Hudson's story. You absolutely need to read Here's to Yesterday first. Nothing can always be perfect, even for the best ones. I've loved Teagan's writing right from the start and this one does not disapoint. I absolutely loved this Novella.
I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, pain, and heartbreak.
Before reading this story please read the below books first Here's to Tomorrow (Here's To, #1)
This is more of Rae and Hudson’s story. Hudson and Rae are better than ever, but Hudson is keeping secrets. Hudson has been doing something for the entire time they have been together. When Rae finds out this might just be the end of them. Can he continue to keep the secret, or will she find out and he will be alone again? After finding out all about the lies will she ever be able t trust anything he said to her? Or is this the end of them?
I love the chemistry between these two. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
They've laid the foundation. Can they survive the test? Here's to Forever is a continuation of Hudson and Rae's story. It is not a stand alone. Here's to Tomorrow has to be read first. Just when life seems to be going great, there's a bump in the road. Will love conquer all? It's nice to catch up with two of my favorite characters. Hunter continues to enamor.
I think Rae blow everything out of proportions and this long novella was uncalled for. Honestly, I thought it was going to be a short sweet extra to their love story.. No, Rae through a major fit about Hudson talking to her dad after he kept parts of her past from her...honestly ridiculous.
Now I'm on to Gaige's book and I really hope its worth the read...
If you haven't read Here's To Tomorrow (#1 in the Here's To series) yet, but really want to in the near future, do not read any further. This novella (#1.5 in the Here's To series) is the companion novella to book #1. This review may cotain spoilers so please read Here's To Tomorrow first!
**********
If you've read my last review of Here's To Tomorrow by Teagan Hunter, you know that I was excited to pick up the rest of this series. This novella is, like the first book in the series, about Rae and Hudson. I was great to catch up with them, because I fell in love with them in Here's To Tomorrow.
Rae and Hudson are still a couple but there is trouble in paradise. I really liked the POV change in this novella. That way you could see both Hudson' and Rae's way of seeing and doing things and especially the why. We could also catch up with all the other characters in this series.
I don't know if it's important to you or not but you should know that this novella was written and published after Teagan published Here's To Yesterday (#2 in the Here's To series). I'm not sure if I made a mistake in reading this novella before book #2. You see, the novella reveals/spoils a few things that are explained in detail in book #2. So of course I was a little perplexed by some of the happenings and outcomes in this novella (and that's what you get as a good reader when wanting to experience a series in order! HA! :D). But on the other hand, I only knew the outcome for certain characters, not how the characters got there (as Teagan nicely explained to me when I complained to her about spoiling myself :D). And she is absolutely right. There was way more to the story than the snippets I read in this novella and I couldn't wait to start with Here's To Yesterday. I finished book #2 last night and I can tell you guys: that ride was a bumpy one (review to come soon!). What I wanted to say: if you decide to read the novella before book #2, that's fine. If you decide to read the novella after book #2, that's fine, too. I think there is no right or wrong here, although I initially thought I had taken the wrong way. ;) Both books are worth to be read - and the order doesn't really matter (but of course you have to read book #1 first, duh!)
If you've read Here's To Tomorrow and loved it, this novella is a MUST!! :)
You must read Here's to tomorrow first. This is a little follow up to what happened after that one ended and where they are at now. There is a bit more detail in Here's to Yesterday to a few of the scenes at the end. I really enjoyed this and loved getting more of Hudson and Rae. I love the connection they have. I love their sarcasm and banter. Even when things may seem like they are on a downward spiral both of those things shine through.
Finally the HEA I was looking for AND resolution of Rae's issues with Dad.
This entire novella is about a huge break in their relationship due to a trust issue. This was great and I haven't really seen this type of thing in a romance before so it was definitely original.
Rae is stubborn to her detriment and Hudson is so in love with her that I really felt for him. Great wrap up to their story.
Fans of Hudson & Rae will adore this novella. What happens to them after they've found their HEA? Do things stay the same or is there trouble in paradise? Buy this novella to find out. You won't regret it. Besides you'll get to spend a couple more hours with Hudson, so that's a major bonus in my book.
This is a novella, continuing Hudson and Rae's story. It's a bumpy one, but definitely worth the read. All of Hunter's characters are so lifelike and shoved into real life situations that are tough to maneuver through. You bond with this couple. You want to yell at them and then you want to bear hug them. Another great read by this author. I cannot wait for more.
I gonna go with a 2 star on this one. I didn’t like it. This book turned me off Rae so bad. I loved her in the first one. Strong, independent and a little broken. She and Hudson were fantastic together. I understand being angry about not being told the truth about her dreams. We are now over a year after that fact and she still hasn’t spoken to her father. The way she reacted to Hudson spending time with him and “lying” about it was ridiculous. I understand being pissed at him but this was WAY overboard. She claims she doesn’t know if she can trust him again after he kept this from her for a year. Never once did she try to see it from his view, a man who truly loves her, would do anything for her and did even this because he knew deep down how much she needed and missed her father. She came across as self-absorbed, selfish, immature and petty. I hated that because I loved them so much. She made Joey think that she was the one to drive her away. It was just wrong in my viewpoint. I didn’t mind a bonus novella and I’m glad they got their HEA at the end but I Hate the way Teagan went about it.

Here’s to Forever is such a cute novella. I usually don’t like novella’s, but I couldn’t pass up a chance to read more about Hudson and Rae. I was surprised by this short story. While it was a quick read, it was not a light one. I was elated to see that the author was actually able to make this short story seem more like a full-length novel, conflict and all. Now let me just say that this novella also made my heart ache for more than one reason. This one really hit me in the soft spot and had me tearing up. That in itself is an accomplishment, but add in that this is a novella? That is Olympic gold right there. I rarely cry at books, especially not novellas. This was a first for me. Overall, I enjoyed this story and was happy to see from some of the characters. I was especially happy to see that while most stories end with happily ever after with all rainbows and sunshine, this author showed the realistic side of relationships. Ratings: Plot: 5/5 Characters: 5/5 Heat: 5/5 Writing Style: 5/5 Overall: 5/5
Hudson and Rae have managed to overcome past secrets, doubts and guilty consciences to have their love grow into something Hudson never thought he could have. Not only is Rae is soul mate, but she’s become the best mother and friend to his daughter. The only thing left to do is for Hudson to make it official & legally tie his family together forever. But there’s one problem - he has been hiding a secret from Rae, and when she finds out, he’s terrified she will leave him.
Rae has come a long way coming to terms what happened to her in the past. She loves her little family but she feels Hudson is hiding something from her. When she finds out his secret, she is devastated, betrayed & loses all trust in Hudson. But Hudson is not willing to give her up. He will do everything in his power to get his girl back. A great addition to the series that brings back all of their family & friends.
I'm torn about how to reviee this, because the writing is good -- as always with Teagan's books -- but I'm so mad about Rae's actions that I didn't enjoy the book.
I absolutely loved Hudson and Rae in the first book. I jumped right on this book expecting to love the continuation of their story...but I kind of regret it now that I read it.
Rae's behavior completely irritated me in this book. She reacts childishly to the situation and shuts out everyone, especially being hardest on Hudson, who is just trying to look out for her. I'm so mad about how she treats him.
Joey is a gem and I love seeeing her grow up. Plus, ultimately Hudson and Rae get their HEA. But I kind of wish I had just left off with their story after book one because the impression I had of Rae from book one is tainted now.
Like I said, the writing is good but I didn't like how Rae handled everything.
So if you read the first book then this one is just an extention.
Rae and Hudson are both happy and living together now. But there's just one problem, Hudson wants more. He wants the ring the wedding and everything else. But he's scared that this is not what Rae wants after everything they have been through he is freaked out that she will say No.
This one was another good read for me. I was just a bit annoyed with Rae. She was stubborn and headstrong had tantrums for absolutely nothing and even though we like that kind of thing, in this situation it didn't help their relationship. But all in all a sweet conclusion to their story. I can't wait to read more on the rest of the characters
A wonderful follow up novella for Rae and Hudson. Even though I had faith in their happily ever after, I wasn't surprised that there might be a few bumps along the way.
Hudson has been keeping a secret from Rae and to her trust is everything. Suddenly their rock solid relationship is on shaky ground and the future Hudson had been planning is uncertain.
One thing I enjoy about Teagan Hunter's writing is the relationships she builds amongst her characters. She does a great job of creating amazing and supportive friendships that make you wish you were part of the group. Rae and Maura and Hudson and Gaige's friendships were one of my favorite parts of Here's to Forever.
I do recommend reading Here's to Tomorrow first and maybe even Here's to Yesterday to understand some of the events mentioned and where this story falls in the timeline.
Here’s to Forever by Teagan Hunter “A catch up, 4 stars”
If your reading Here’s to Forever then you’ve read the first book at least in the series and possibly the second. Here’s to Forever is basically a catch up on what’s been going on. You get a little bit of Tucker and Maura but its really about Hudson and Rae. See Hudson kind of stuck his foot in his mouth, will he be able to get it out or will it ruin his relationship with Rae. It was a sweet little novella but not completely necessary if novellas aren’t your thing. I can’t really tell you anymore in fear of spilling the beans about what’s in these pages. But what I will tell you is prepare for some drama. Plot-4/5 Characters-4/5 Heat-4/5 Writing style-5/5 Overall-4/5

Read this after Here’s to Tomorrow because even when I don’t like a book I’m a sucker for just finding out what happens next and can’t let a story go unfinished… This book just felt like the story of one long argument and it made me dislike Rae so much… I just couldn’t get onboard with how petty she was being, and especially to Joey who is just the innocent little girl who had come to see her as a mother, then gets abandoned for over a week because Rae is annoyed with her Dad. Like the earlier book in this series I just wish I hadn’t read it - I loved the Texting and Slice series and this just feels like it’s a completely different standard of writing to those… going to leave the series here and not read the others
This was an enjoyable continuation of Hudson and Rae’s story (Here's to Tomorrow). Even when their relationship was tested, and things were not going well the love between these two never faded and throughout the challenges the book still had the same feel to it as their full length book.
Favorite quote:
“I want to spend the rest of time with her because she’s the most real thing I’ve ever had in my life.”
And we are back with more of the unforgettable Rae and Hudson as they find love is complicated, not all the easy but man is it so worth it. Teagan shakes these two up a bit and gives us a stunner that I couldn't put down cover to cover.
I'm so glad this story continued and we got glimpses after the happy ending. It made them more real...more everything.
The love story of Hudson and Rae that started in Here’s To Tomorrow continues. As in most relationships there are obstacles that a couple must face that will either bring them closer or tear them apart and the same is true for Hudson and Rae.
Hudson has been keeping a secret from Rae for a year believing it is in her best interest but when she finds out their relationship is tested but Hudson is the man for the job. Full of drama and heat this novella will have you cheering for their happy every after. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
This book continues on from book one following the lives of Rae and Hudson.
Man this book had my heart in a tight grip nearly all the way through. I needed Hudson and Rae to be ok and i sighed a huge sigh of relief at the end. This book spoke volumes to me because it showed what real love and what a real relationship is like. You really see the connection both of them have, you see them fight for their love and it has you connecting with them on an even deeper level then in the first book.
This series is fast becoming a top read for me. BRING ON THE NEXT BOOK!
Everything seems to be going perfect for Rae and Hudson. She feels something deep in her gut that something is wrong. Hudson finally comes clean on what he’s hiding.
Can the trust he broke be rebuilt or is the damage too much?
I was so glad to get more of Rae, joey and Hudson. Once again I couldn’t put the book down once i started.
People should take more time to explore and manage their own feelings and understand the affects of those feelings and how it bleeds over into other relationship developement. This story is one where only one half of the couple proceeds in "the best interest" and it burns him in the ass. Can they get back to where they were? Read these books, and learn more about this tight group of friends.
