Cinderella killed my father.

She thinks she can do anything because she’s the Evil Queen. And my stepmother. The only thing she truly loves is her Demon Mirror. But the more she gazes into that thing, the crazier she becomes.

But I am no longer a child. I won’t allow the Evil Queen to poison my heart and my home. Although my skin is white as snow, my soul is far from pure. I will make Cinderella suffer for her sins.

Sure as my name is Snow White.

I loved the first book in this dark series. And expected a lot from this second book and I'd say I'm not disappointed.

Snow White is Cinderella's step daughter and Cinderella has made Snow White's life miserable. Since Cinderella has killed Snow White's father, she wants to avenge his death and in the process becomes evil herself. We get to see a different side of Cinderella towards the end.

A lovely, dark read like no other fairytale retelling. Delightful and compelling. Once again, I can't wait to get my hands on the next in the series.

AHH! Do you see a girl who is wallowing in the puddle of disappointment? Yeah, that's basically me. After reading the first book in the series and drowned in the sea of darkness and merrily waiting to jump into the next book, I was so heartbroken by how much this book disappointed me. Why would the first book in a series could be such an eye catcher if the next book was not good enough?

As the title says, here we see Snow White's antics and how she was tortured by her stepmother Cinderella. The irony of the situation!

"I don’t need her or anyone else. I know who I am now.

I am the Snow Queen."

I would say it was TWISTED in every possible way. Should I give an example? Here comes: Both Cinderella and Snow White wants Hunter. Lol! What a situation!

Sneaky Snow White contains some aspects from Frozen and the Sleeping Beauty.

Next book is about Rapunzel. Would I read it? Probably yes.

Would I recommend this to anyone? Maybe

Do you need to read SINFUL CINDERELLA ? HELL YEAH!

I got this for free from the author when she did a mini-giveaway/promotion a few days after the release date, you can look at the status here if you want.:)

I didn't promise a favorable review in exchange, my opinions are my own.
----

Cinderella killed my father.

I don’t know how she did it. But he’s gone. Not even a body to bury.

When I ask her, she simply laughs and says he got what he deserved. She thinks she can do anything because she is queen.

And my stepmother.

I can’t bring back my father. But I can avenge his death. Although my skin is white as snow, my soul is far from pure. I will make Cinderella suffer for her sins.

Sure as my name is Snow White.
---

That night, I cried myself to sleep. The next morning, I kicked every candle as I went down my staircase, watching them roll and crack into waxy chunks. Old Cinders had gone too far this time. I wouldn’t kill her – that would be too kind. And it’s so much more satisfying to punish the living.

I continue to love how Miss Valle takes our princesses that we know so well and turn them on their heads slightly and skew the circumstances.

Snow White starts out kind, but somewhat bratty at times then she slowly starts to change as she listens to the Mirror, even as she denies it and others see what is happening.

What is the secret behind the Mirror? Something I didn't expect but fits perfectly as certain things in the story come to light.

Good intentions take a turn at one point, can't say much more without spoiling anything but the ending has me very intrigued where Miss Valle will take things next.

Would highly recommend but make sure you read Sinful Cinderella first
:).

Happy reading!

I couldn't wait to read the next dark fairytale, and this one was no disappointment. Snow White wasn't as rotten as Cinderella, but her story was a tragic one and I liked that there was a romantic story along with her revenge one. Just like with the first book, it was quick paced and easy to read. Can't wait for the next one!!

Wow third time reading, third time loving it! I swear every time I read this I honestly cry. All of Anita Valle's books are amazing and I especially love this series.

I love all the characters in this book. Snow White is an amazing main character and even though I didn't agree with some of the choices she made I still loved her as a character, she was a really smart main character and didn't listen to what people thought of her or what they wanted from her.

Even though this is such a short book I feel like a lot of stuff happened and a lot of character development happened. I loved how there was never a point where I was bored in this book. I also liked how it did leave off on a cliff hanger but not the type of that I hate and left loads of questions unanswered, I felt like it kind of wrapped up but also didn't at the same time.

Overall I still love this book and I will never stop rereading this series. If you haven't already read this series YOU NEED TO READ IT I'm begging you, It is amazing and definitely worth a read.

I really liked the first book..... What happened?

My Rant may have spoilers

Snow i really disliked but felt sorry for as no one ever loved her, apart from Supposedly hunter but he was as fickle as a pair of well used second hand shoes.... What he did was about as heroic as a pillowcase, leave snow locked in a palace with an evil mirror while he took her stepmother who has been has been brutal to snow, whisking said evil queen her off to a cabin in the woods cares for her and falls in love, because she sews a button for him... Neither of the women are winning any awards for being a Stepford wife but still....

Short and sweet. I found this one to be a little more twisted of a retelling than the first one, and a little less clever because of that because so many things were changed. BUT I still really liked it and thought that the twists were well done. A few things actually took me by surprise. One thing I've really liked about this series is how all the fairy tales are intertwined. I think Anita Valle is a really smart author and these novellas are really good, I'd love to see what she could do with a full length novel.

3.5ish stars because this was so much better
This book is such an improvement from its ancestor. It felt rushed tk be honest, but I really enjoyed it. I just hoped that this was a normal length book. It would feel better. I hope Rotten Rapunzel is even better, because this series has so much potential.

This author has a way of making lovely characters so evil that they're unlovable. At least in this one, some of Snow White's evilness, but I still feel like there was no reason for most of it. She was extremely selfish, and just got worse as the story went on. I like the twist of having these fairy tale characters be dark and twisted, but it's way too much, and I can't bring myself to really enjoy it.

This is soo not good. I really didn't like this book. At least I didn't hate it.

Valle continues with her same twisted and dark retelling, now with the Snow White and the evil Queen. Cinderella is the Evil Queen. Snow White, as her name suggests, is white in her complexion but not in her heart. This is soo twisted from the first book as both Cinderella and Snow White wants Hunter! Yes, you've heard me.

And guess what?? Snow White is the Snow Queen! Duh.

I am blaming this all on that wretched old hag Janani.

A great continuation taking place after Sinful Cinderella. I really enjoyed Sinful Cinderella because it was a unique approach to the classic fairytale characters we know and love. Sneaky Snow White continues this approach with another beloved fairytale heroine. These fairytale princesses who are typically known for their kindness and innocence succumb to evil in these books. It is such an interesting approach that I'm surprised no one else has done it yet. I applaud the author for being brave enough to flip it around so that the fairytale heroines we love so much can be sinister instead of pure. It is a bit unsettling to read at times but super interesting! This book also shows that evil characters can still redeem themselves in the end, despite being easily influenced into bad choices by others. I was never bored and fully engaged the entire time. I recommend this book to anyone who likes an interesting and unique take on fairytales.

Ok I liked this book and the twist that it gave with the old snow white fairy tale, Cinderella is actually Snow whites step mother and of course just like the story she hates her and is controlled by the magic mirror. Snowy as she is called in this book is in love with Hunter and hates her step mother. Instead of trying to get away she declares that she will kill Cinderella and the unborn child she is carrying with her, or at least she is going to get Hunter to do it. Being madly in love with Snowy Hunter agrees although he does not really want to do it.
Snowy sends him to do her biding but instead of killing her Hunter starts to fall for Cinderella. It seems that Cinderella only needs someone to show her some love. She begins to act humane again. Of course this irritates Snow white and she becomes enraged with jealousy she believes that Cinderella has taken everything from her, now she is trying to take Hunter away too. Once Cinderella is dead the dwarves in the forest find her thinking that she has not only killed Cinderella but also Killed Hunter who happens to be their brother. She knows that she can not fight them so Snow white takes the newly born child and flees. The new child is called Rapunzel.

I really enjoyed the book it was a bit too dark for me though. Great cliffhangers!

2.5 ⭐

In the first book we see a dark side of Cinderella - hellbent on having revenge and punishing her stepmother and sisters, nasty little cinders schemes her way to becoming Queen with the use of magic and with the help of Godnutter. When she marries the King she is introduced to his daughter Snow. In this book then you've got Cinderella as the Evil Queen and Snow White as a bratty little bitch.... She is actually worse than Cinderella was. All these characters are horrid. I enjoy how a character develops into another character who is usually from an entirely different fairy tale, but the writing is very basic and the characters are hard to empathise with at all, so it's just a very average book. Love the idea but could be executed better

These aren't just "what if the Disney princesses were really mean" - the bones of the fairy tales are there, but recontextualized in interesting ways.

This one isn't as flashy as the first, but it's more emotionally satisfying - Snowy's motivations are much more concrete than Cindy's, and her age matches her behavior without a hitch.

While I liked the first book better in this series so far, this was still a clever twist on Snow White. Fast paced and short it kept my attention. At times...well maybe a lot...the wording is very YA but I just couldn’t stop reading.

While I absolutely loved Sinful Cinderella, I did not love Sneaky Snow White. The big difference for me was that despite Cinderella being selfish and bad, she still had reasons for me to empathize with her. She had some redeeming qualities that made sense, so I actually cared what happened to her when evil started to get its clutches on her.

Snow White…had no redeeming qualities. She was never the sweet girl who was supposed to rule the kingdom. She never had a great relationship with her father, she didn’t get the chance to know her mother, but that didn’t give her a redeeming quality anyways. She was selfish and naive, fully believing that the only way she could keep Hunter loving her was by using a Love Apple, enchanted to keep their love going forever. If she had faith in their love and nurtured it instead of taking from it, she would have seen that she didn’t need the apple, but never did she think that way. She only ever cared about her own happiness, whether it made Hunter happy or not.

So I didn’t care what happened to her one bit as opposed to what happened to Cinderella. I honestly think I pushed through this one because of the scenes with Cinderella. That, and I know with how strong Sinful Cinderella was, there’s got to be a great chance that the future installment Rotten Rapunzel can be just as great and I don’t want to be behind.

A dark and heart aching twist on Snow White. She was never completely innocent when we met her in book one, but it was interesting to see what happens when Snow goes full dark side. I'm not entirely surprised how twisted she turned with Cinderella as her stepmother. The plot moves along fairly smoothly, and I love the magic system that Valle has built. Looking forward to what book 3 has to bring!

"Although my skin is white as snow, my soul is far from pure"

It's been a while since I've read and finished any books, and this book was what I needed!
I love fairy tale retellings and I see Anita Valle Kills it!. I love it! I enjoyed the first book, (read it a year ago before my due projects, ironically I'm doing the same for the second xD )

Anyways, I really needed something to get me reading and feel alive. *Ahem* Let me just talk about the book for now.

The story follows after Cinderella became the queen and the step-mother of snow white. She have been glued to this mirror she seeks comfort in, after the 'disappearance' of her husband king Edgar and Snow white's father. Snow had actually felt that her step-mom had a thing to do with her father after all Cindy told her,

"Do you know where he is?" I asked.
"Gone," she said, the word a sigh.
"Gone where?" I asked.
Cinderella stroked my hair and spoke in her sweetest voice.
"Most likely - to Hell."

That was a first lol. I was really seeing our Cinder in another light..a light snd she's also pregnant, yeah! xD.. we are introduced to Hunter later on, who is none other than her lover, a kind, strong and the sensitive Hunter. I actually love this part,
"Haven't you ever gutted a deer? I know you have, this is no different. You are a hunter, Hunter. Hunt her!"

was funny to read. -- Since I don't have time to write a full review I'll just state my overall thoughts.

I give this book a solid 5 stars! I loved every page of it Aside from that, It was enjoying and the pacing was good!

This book can be read without reading the first one is what I felt, I love the plot-twisting Anita does it keeps me reading nonstop! However, It'll be more enjoying to read the whole series! I don't know why I only just read the second book lol.

I want to rant over some parts that made angry and frustrated! ( SPOILERS AHEAD )

After Hunter took Cinderella to his cottage, so that she and Snow went kill each other.. Hunter became distant from snow - I won't blame him, she was crazy that moments - but what really ticked me off was how Cinderella fell for him..??? Like, first of all FOCUS on your babies and leave your stepchild's lover! even if he was nice, kind and took care of you! she was beeing really selfish and it annoyed because she also knew that snow and Hunter were in love with each other.

She ate the magic apple (that was given to Snow by her godmother) and turns out it was a freaking poisoned that made her into Sleeping beauty - if she hadn't been selfish and falling for others men but nooo . Some will say love makes people selfish and crazy thing, but this is unacceptable and so unreasonable, and disgusting

Surprise, Surprise. Turns out not only she loved Hunter, but our sensitive boy fell for her after she had sewn his button.. yes girls, guys have changed! No more cooking, more sewing ;)
This part made me really sad for Snow although she was a bad person the couple chapters, but she was really genuine on loveing Hunter, and seeing him taken away by her step-mom was not pleasent sight anyone wants to see...

Augh, this part got me tearing and I really didn't like it.. (SKIPS FORWARD) when they went to smash the mirror as its snow's last request before letting Hunter go and give Cinderella -her step-mom- a true loves kiss. they went there. the mirror became more crazy and tried to take snow with her. Hunter was there.. He helped her smashing the demon mirror and,

When he shot the Mirror, she hurled her fragments at him. Stabbed him all over his body. Hunter's gentle brown eyes stare at the ceiling, blank as stone.
I stare at him. I can't breathe.
My Hunter... my Hunter....
He's gone.

THIS. was not okay!! my heart shattered into pieces and I don't know what to do...
one thing I know is, I'll read the third and last book sooner.

I notice in the first book and the second every character is like two characters from the fairytales.
Cinderella was both - The Evil queen & Aurora.
Snow white - The Snow queen & mother gothel(in book 3)

[Spoilers]
For the most part, this book was even more enjoyable than the previous one in the series. Of course, with the twist at the end of that one that Cinderella becomes the Evil Queen of Snow White, it was clear that the next book in the series would be a continuation on the theme of evil women raising evil daughters, so I purposefully avoided learning the title of the third book to keep some of the suspense. Nonetheless, by the end of the book I was able to figure out that the next installment would be Rapunzel from the tower clues.
I enjoyed the fact that Snow White's motivations were completely separate from those of Cinderella. I was a little worried when I realized that the evil stepmother motif was going to be repeated that this was going to be similar to the Disney Snow White where she is treated as a servant, not a princess, but I'm glad Cinderella's mistreatment of Snow White never resulted in her being exactly like the previous character. Additionally, by making Hunter Snow White's primary motivations, I was unable to see the twist coming that Snow White would not be the one put under by a sleeping curse. (Although, as soon as the godmother showed up and offered Snow a love apple I knew it had to be a poison apple, why else would she remind her to bite it first when that has never been mentioned before?)
The Dwarfs being instead burly hunters and thieves was an interesting change in pace, though I wish we saw more of them than just Cooper's brief interactions with Snow White. All we really end up knowing about them is that they value family enough to try to kill Snow White when harm comes to Hunter. That twist was a surprise, as well, which leaves me wondering if we'll ever get a resolution to Cinderella's sleeping curse.
Though it was clear that Snow White was never truly motivated to become Queen because her father never took the time to prepare her for those duties, always expecting a son eventually, I do find it a little odd that she so soundly rejected becoming Queen. Obviously, she was forced to flee the Dwarfs at the end so the political upheaval was more accidental than purposeful, but this leaves me wondering about the fate of the kingdom. Will Rapunzel's unnamed sister be raised as a princess and ascend the throne at a young age? Is there a next-in-line contingency plan? And if so, where was that plan when Snow White became de facto queen and seemingly nothing changed in the kingdom outside of the palace decor? When Cinderella was the primary character, I understood not delving too far into the political structure of the kingdom and how the prince could afford to just randomly choose a commoner as his second wife, because Cinderella was only focused on the idea of the title and power. Snow White, though, should at least be a little more aware of how the kingdom functions even if she doesn't care about her people or the wellbeing of the kingdom. This is a minor thing, though, that only took me out of the story when I thought about it, not during the actual reading.
I think the only event in the story that really left me saying "why" and took me out of the world for a moment was when Godnutter gives Snow White breastmilk so she can feed Rapunzel. If the reasoning was that she had to figure out a way to feed the child, I would have easily been satisfied with the same kind of disbelief that is required to determine how Snow White is going to find her own food while isolated in a tower. She's going to have to eat, I'm sure she can find milk while she's also finding food. The tiniest thing, but also the absolute strangest part of this entire fairy tale.

In this continuation of Dark Fairy Tale Queens, Snow White is making plans to run away with her boyfriend, Hunter, to escape her stepmother, the wicked queen Cinderella. But she won’t be satisfied with just making good her escape; first she wants revenge on Cinderella for killing her father (never mind that he was a monster, it’s the principle of the thing), and she wants a love apple to share with Hunter, a spell that will keep their love strong and fresh for the rest of their lives, no matter what.

She’s going to need it, because unlike everyone else in the Dark Fairy Tale Queens universe, Hunter is decent, right through to the core. As much fun as this series’ heroines’ twisted minds can be, Hunter is a breath of fresh air, not to mention an ever-tightening reel of tension, as his childhood sweetheart love for Snow grapples with his dawning understanding of just how venomous she is.

When Snow makes Hunter promise to kill the pregnant Cinderella for her, she finally drives just enough of a wedge between them to set in motion a phenomenally awkward love triangle between stepmother, stepdaughter, and the sweetest man in the kingdom.

Meanwhile, Cinderella’s magic mirror has shifted its seductive attentions to the new fairest woman in the land, calling Snow’s worst nature even closer to the surface, and Cinderella’s fairy godmother ties the series closer together with a reappearance as a peddler of magic apples.

Possible downsides: Because Sneaky Snow White deviates more from the structure of its source fairytale, the pacing is a bit unconventional and treads water in a few places. Snow White also rather uncomfortably describes one member of the Dwarves (a rape gang that had previously chased her through the forest) as “a bad apple, but loveable.” Then again, she’s comparing him to herself while planning to cut open her stepmother and steal her unborn baby, so her judgement on what makes a person lovable can be assumed to be as fractured as the fairy tale she inhabits. Actually, the more I think about it, the more I realize this may be a deliberate comment on how only male characters usually get to fill the “loveable asshole” archetype, often while being assholes far beyond the point where they should qualify as loveable. Complaint retracted.

Snow White, the Snow Queen!?!
In this tale we continue with our Dark Fairy Tale. Snow White has grown up. She lost her father and is now being "raised" by the Evil Queen who finds creative ways to try and kill her. She does not succeed, Snow falls in love with Hunter. She decides she needs Hunter to kill her stepmother, steal the babies she is pregnant with and they can run away together and live with the children. He reluctantly agrees. Of course, nothing goes according to plan. Hunter sneaks into the castle but instead of killing Snow he takes her away from the castle and the mirror that has been controlling her. This is where the story gets interesting. Away from the mirror, Cinderella begins to remember who she is and falls in love with Hunter. He with her. Snow still wants Hunter and thanks to our fairy godnutter things go wrong again. Godnutter gives Snow an love apple to tell her to bite first. Cinderella wrestles the apple away from her and takes a bight to discover it was poisoned. Before Hunter can kiss her to break the spell/curse, Snow asks him to destroy the mirror aka Snows Mother, who's essecne is in the mirror. As he does it the mirror kills him. Now once again on the run from Hunters brothers the dwarves, Snow discovers her ice powers. Snow takes one baby while godnutter takes the other. Though this story ends with Snow, and the baby Rapunzel. I am still keeping out hope that Cinderella with get her happy ending. We do find out that the King, Snows father and Cinderella's husband is alive so maybe he still has a part to play. Looking forward to the next installment of this book series.

This was simply awful. I might be the only bad review….but the writing was just okay.
Snow White was an awful character that just made me cringe.

The king married a child - Cinderella, only 8 years older than his own child (and yes, I know this happens, and yes...I get that in this "time" it would have been more acceptable - but it still is unnerving for me). And after 7 years of marriage she is pregnant. Then Snow White sees her dad taking an unnamed lady to a high tower that is always locked (where apparently he's taken a lot of unnamed, beautiful women over the years) but he and she never return. Ummm.....(Vomit).

Hunter was ick….and the love triangle-ish situation (hunter, Snow and Cinder) made me want to vomit. The dialogue was terrible. Every interaction with Snow and Hunter was like reading a childish journal from a 14 year old love sick child instead of an 18 year old girl. It was over the top.
Oh and then we have Snow planning a murder that she wants someone else (a lovesick Dwarf) to carry out - sounds like this is ripped from the headlines of other angsty teen murderers.
The entire experience if reading this very short book can best be described as cringy.

The book left me feeling unsettled in a “what the heck did I just read and why??” Sort of feeling. Just hoping this does not throw me into a reading slump and I can find good writing and a good story to purge this from my mind!!!

This was a bad compilation of several fairy tales trying to be dark but only becoming a twisted mess of ickiness. I can't - I just can't!! This makes the fourth trash book I've forced myself to finish this week!!

Following in the footsteps of Sinful Cinderella, this is a dark retelling of Snow White in which almost no one is above reproach.

This follows from the first book. Snow White is angry and hurt, and happy to blame Cinderella for all that has gone wrong.

Snow is arguably less overtly sympathetic than Cinderella, who was portrayed as a girl who could have been good, but was corrupted by the cruelty and abuse that she endured.

This story felt a little less complete than the first story, which was entirely self-contained; this one felt very much like a stepping stone between the first and third installments in this series.

One thing I have to say, is I love the way everybody ends up with a nickname that ends in y. In the first book, stepsisters Melodie and Lunilla were referred to by Cinderella as Moody and Loony; and in this one, Snow White is called Snowy, and she in turn refers to Cinderella as Old Cindy.

It's decently entertaining, and funny, in a dark sort of way. This is a light-hearted dark fairy tale, is the best way I can describe it.
