ALIEN EDUCATION is the fifteenth book in the Kitty Katt series by Gini Koch. That being said, I think it’s important to read the series in order. Not only is there a ton of world politics in this book, I simply think readers would have a better time if they started the book from the beginning. As always Koch delivers an interesting story. However, I did feel like the beginning of this one stalled slightly. It takes a couple of chapters to set the book up but once that’s completed, I do think the book finds it’s stride.
Kitty is always a treat to read. Not only if she bursting with personality, but she always provides readers with a fresh look into the world. I love the fact that although her character has progressed over the series that she still remains the same heroine we’ve loved from the beginning of the series.
The same thing goes for Jeff who obviously plays an important role in the series. Yet through the eyes of Kitty he’s still the down-to-earth, kind person she fell in love with. Despite the developments in their relationship, I still think there’s so much room to grow. That being said, I feel like Koch can write plenty more books set in this series.
If you’re looking for a Sci Fi read that’s full of personality, then you absolutely need to meet Kitty and the gang.

Another wonderful adventure with Kitty and crew! I think my favorite part of this story is Christopher on the ice! Speedy and ice don’t always mix! Awe, but I still love my Christopher. It is always fun to see Kitty in action. She has a way of thinking that at times has me scratching my head. Along with her ability to decipher musically clues makes her pretty much unstoppable.
In Alien Education Kitty has to deal with the PTA!! Yes, she is thrown into battle with the president of the PTA. There is a bake sale involved, a food fight and one very well aimed roll. We have an enemy that tries to bury the hatch and a new enemy show it’s hands. We also get to see how Jamie and baby Charlie are developing. These kids are going to run the universe very very soon!! And we get some Jeff & Kitty time!! Only thing better would be more Christopher!
I can’t wait to see what comes next for Kitty and crew!!

Fifteenth in the Katherine "Kitty" Katt romantic science fiction — and humorous — series and revolving around Kitty Katt-Martini, our new First Lady.
My Take
It’s always an adventure in this textual comic with all the overblown abilities and the craziness of superheroes and enemies with the musically inspired Kitty, and Alien Education doesn’t disappoint, especially with that first person protagonist point-of-view from Kitty’s perspective. She is the cra-cra girl in this series, so it makes perfect sense, lol.
I do enjoy trying to figure out what the clues are from the music Algar plays for Kitty when she’s in action mode. And things do get pretty exciting with all the replicas of our side running around. Ya just don’t know who to believe in this. And it’s not just the -Bots wreaking havoc, it’s Prince Wasim’s arrival and how to protect and welcome him, the surprise attack of the Back-to-School bake sale and Charmaine’s attitude, the attacks at the schools, the “planned” party, and the flying-pucks fight at the game — dance to the beat!
The annoying part of this was how much time Koch spent on rehashing past events and fitting people in, in their various Operations, aka, stories, i.e., the first half of the book! And there are so many characters! Kitty picks ‘em up and does not let go. And not just friends, but also fake people and enemies.
Oh, oh, oh…Kitty may be crazy, but wait’ll you hear the Tinkerer’s proposal! ROFLMAO.
The Story
As if learning as much as possible about every alien race in the galaxy, fending off the advances of both business and personal from a variety of Hollywood types, dealing with the assimilation of various alien races, and navigating the Embassy Daycare kids' first day of "real" school wasn't bad enough, President and First Lady Jeff and Kitty Katt-Martini must now deal with new robotic attacks that endanger every alien child on Earth, the resurgence of a bigger, nastier Club 51, and a variety of murders, all while facing the most truly terrifying organization they've ever encountered — the school's Parent-Teacher Association.

Katherine "Kitty" Katt-Martini, a.k.a., Megalomaniac Girl, is a human with enhanced abilities who is married to the “Alien of Aliens”, Jeff Martini, who fell into being President of the United States. He’s the world’s strongest empath. The Alpha Four have declared him King Regent of Earth. Jamie-Kat is their very talented daughter. Charlie is their ten-month-old who has a scary ability for telekinesis. Oh, and Kitty also has Dr. Doolittle powers.
Kitty’s best male friend, Charles “Chuckie” Reynolds, is the director of the CIA. Angela Katt, a.k.a., Nana Angela, is the head of the Presidential Terrorism Control Unit (PTCU) and Kitty’s mother. Kevin Lewis is Angela's right-hand man. Devon Jones is a PTCU agent. Evander Horn is now secretary of Homeland Security. Tom Curran took Horn’s place as director of the FBI.
Amy Gaultier-White is married to Christopher White, one of the best imageers among the A-Cs and the one with all the Patented Glares. Elizabeth “Lizzie” Jackson Vrabel, a.k.a., Quick Girl, was adopted by Siler and is Kitty’s ward. Nadine Alexis, Colette’s sister, is the nanny.
The White House
Rajnish Singh, a troubadour, is Jeff’s Chief of Staff. Antoinette Reilly is the chief usher. Chef is in charge of the kitchens. P-Chef is the official executive pastry chef. Dr. Tito Hernandez is the in-house doctor. Melanie and Emily are part of the White House medical staff. Benjamin Siler Vrabel, a.k.a., Mister Dash and Monsieur Meurtrier, used to work with the uncles, Peter “the Dingo” and Victor “Surly Vic” Kasperoff.
Kitty’s Staff
Vance Beaumont is her chief of staff; he’s married to the head lobbyist for Big Tobacco, Guy Gadoire. Colette Alexis, a troubadour, is her press secretary (and part of the stealth A-C CIA). Abner Schnekedy is her chief decorator and floral designer; he’s married to Lillian Culver, the top lobbyist for the defense industry. Nancy Maurer is her White House social secretary; the former VP nominee Cameron Maurer, who was partially androidized, is her son ( Alien Nation , 14). Chance and Cassidy Maurer are Nancy’s grandchildren. Akiko is a fashion designer on exclusive retainer for Kitty and the A-Cs. Francine Alexis is Kitty’s body double (and part of the stealth A-C CIA).
Protective details
Len Parker and Kyle Constantine are Kitty’s personal driver and bodyguard. Evalyne Green is the head of Kitty’s Secret Service detail; Phoebe Manning is Evalyne’s second-in-command. Manfred, a troubadour, is the head of Kitty’s A-C detail, which also includes Daniel and Marcus (both empaths) and Joshua and Lucas who are imageers. Joseph is the head of Jeff’s Secret Service detail with Rob as part of Jeff’s detail. Keith heads up the security team for the kids. Walter Ward is the unofficial head of security at the White House; Malcolm Buchanan with his Dr. Strange powers is the official head.
Elaine Armstrong, widow of the late president, is secretary of state. Nathalie Gagnon-Brewer, widow of Rep. Edmund Brewer, is secretary of transportation. Uncle Mort Katt is chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Senator Donald McMillan is another trusted friend. Caroline Chase is a sorority sister of Kitty’s and McMillan’s aide. Fritz Hochberg is vice-president. Howie is the secretary of education.
Alpha-Centaurions (A-Cs) on Earth
Alfred and Lucinda Martini are Jeff’s parents. Richard White is Christopher’s father, the former Pontifex, and Kitty’s partner in the field; Terry had been Christopher’s mother. Paul Gower is Naomi and Abigail’s brother and the Supreme Pontifex of the Earth A-Cs. Abigail Gower is Paul’s sister. Francis Carruthers is Jeff’s brother-in-law working for Ansom Somerall at Gaultier; Constance is Jeff’s sister. Jonathan is another of Jeff’s brothers-in-law. TCC, a.k.a., The Clarence Clone, has taken Clarence Valentino’s place with the family. Louise is one of Clarence’s daughters; she’ll be a teacher’s aide at Sidwell.
Centaurion Division encompasses…
…various departments for the A-Cs including Airborne Command, Alpha Team, Field, and the A-C CIA. Dulce Science Center is the main base for all of Centaurion Division worldwide where William Ward, a very powerful imageer and Walter’s older brother, is in charge of Dulce Security and security for all A-Cs throughout the world.

Tim Crawford is head of Airborne. Navy pilots Lieutenant Joe Billings and Captain Randy Muir have been partially androidized. Jerry Tucker, Matt Hughes, and Chip Walker are also on the team.

…led by James Reader, a former top international male model, one of Kitty’s two best guy friends, and Paul Gower’s husband. Captain Lorraine, a Dazzler, is married to Joe Billings. Captain Claudia Muir, another Dazzler, is married to Randy.
Stealth A-C CIA
Serene Dwyer, Richard White’s very-much-younger sister, is Head of Imageering and their spy network (with troubadour talents and is an explosives genius). She’s married to Brian Dwyer. Raj is her second-in-command. Camilla is a deep cover agent and a natural-born liar; she’s married to Rhee.
The A-C Embassy
Doreen Coleman-Wiseman is the Head Diplomat; Irving is her husband. Denise Lewis runs the Embassy School and Daycare Center. Raymond and Rachel are Denise and Kevin's equally gorgeous kids. Pierre is the incredibly efficient concierge majordomo. Mahin Sherazi, an A-C hybrid, is a cultural attachée along with Abigail. Nurse Magdalena Carter has taken over medical now that Tito is at the White House; she’s also Richard’s main squeeze. Melissa is now running security.
Hacker International is…
…a small group of the world’s best hackers, including Chernobog the Ultimate and the world’s best hacker, who is Russell Kozlow’s mother.
The critters include…
…both alien and regular earth animals. Peregrines are Alpha Four birds raised to protect the royal family. Bruno and Lola are the head birds; Edgar is one of the younger ones and attached to Lizzie. Poofs were brought here by Algar with Harlie as Head Poof and belongs to Jeff, although Murphy is Jeff’s real Poof; Poofikins is Kitty’s.

Sidwell
…is “the finest preparatory school in the country”. Miranda Paster is the principal; Hiroki Yamaguchi is the assistant principal. Miss Lisa is one of the teachers. That bitch, Charmaine Cordell is President of the Sidwell Friends School Parent Teacher Association. Trust me, you’ll want to kill her too! Bob is her venture capitalist husband.
Students will include Jamie Katt, Patrick Dwyer, Ross Billings, Sean Muir, and Ezra Weisman for early-starters kindergarten; Jonathan Price II is in first grade; Miriam Price is second grade; Rachel Lewis is third grade; Cassidy Maurer is fourth grade; Kimberly “Kimmie” Price and Raymond Lewis are fifth grade; Chance Maurer is sixth; Elizabeth Vrabel and Anthony Valentino are ninth; Claire Valentino is tenth; and, Sidney Valentino is eleventh. Zachary Kramer’s kids (and Marcia’s stepkids) include Clinton, a senior; Mason; and, Maverick. Seth and Shelby Cordell are that nasty Charmaine’s kids.

The Aligned Worlds of the Milky Way Galaxy include:
…Earth and the Solaris System, with Kitty as its ambassador. Some of the aliens we've already met include the Reptilians, Feliniads, Canus Majorians, and the Free Women from Beta Twelve with Renata as their queen. She sent her daughters, Rahmi (she’s married to Tito now) and Rhee, to earth ages ago. The Galactic Freehold encompasses those whom the Yggethnian Jewel of the Sky and the Faradawn Treeship were able to rescue.
The Intergalactic School is…
…designed for both alien and human students and is near Dulce in New Mexico. Three hookers from Alien Nation — Meriel, Rhonda, and Jane — are responsible for the propaganda job at the school. Two street bums — Mickey and Garfield — (from the same story) are the heads of maintenance and janitorial. Troidl is a Themnir and is in charge here.
The Ancients have…
…been at war with the Z’porrah for years. Rudolph "John" Wruck, an Ancient and is the only survivor from LaRue DeMorte Gaultier's traitorous attack on her own crew.
A-Cs think the Operations Team (Kitty calls 'em Elves) do the work behind the scenes, but it’s actually Algar, a being from the Black Hole Universe who is on the run.
Enemies
Prime among them have been the Masterminds, starting with Ronald Yates, Jeff and Christopher’s grandfather AND Siler’s father. Cliff Goodman was the latest Mastermind. Stephanie Valentino is one of the A-Cs — Jeff and Christopher’s niece, but she’s gone to the bad. She’s allied up with the Tinkerer, a.k.a., Trevor, who had helped her great-grandfather become the First Mastermind. Clarence Valentino had been her traitorous father. More of Jeff’s family gone to the bad include Elizabeth Guerra’s and Lauren Fontana’s older kids: Patricia, Bonnie, and Darius Guerra and Lloyd and Laura Fontana. And their husbands, Oscar Guerra and Nero Fontana, work for YatesCorp.
"Created people” include Fem-Bots, androids, and cyborgs — Kitty-Bots, Christopher-Bots, Amy-Bots, Lizzie-Bots, and many more.
Doctor Trevor Rattoppare and his “granddaughter” are offering the transition from human to eek!! Senator Zachary Kramer and his wife Marcia are on evil’s side. Simon “Homophobe” Hopkins is an Alcohol lobbyist. Myron Van Dyke is boring.
Dealers of Death include…
…Ansom Somerall,chairman of the board for Gaultier Enterprises; Janelle Gardiner had been part of a triumvirate ( Camp Alien , 13) but ended up needing rescuing. Talia Lee, the chief lobbyist for the firearms people, has been heavily involved.. YatesCorp and Titan Security (Amos Tobin is in charge there) are more evil corporations.
Hate groups include…
…Club 51 with Harvey Gutermouth its leader. Mr. Not My Queen is one of the True Believers of the Club. The Church of Hate and Intolerance is led by Farley Pecker.
The Cover and Title
The cover is a battle scene from the hockey game with a grays and blues background as the besuited Jeff swings his stick and a Kitty in ripped jeans and a black-white-red V-neck T keeps an eye out to see which tentacled puck she’s gonna hit. The title is at the top in a two-tone pink and sky blue while the author’s name is in white at the bottom left. An info blurb, in white, is just under the title.
The title covers Alien Education two ways: Kitty has to learn all those protocols for each alien planet becoming part of the earth alliance and the Embassy kids are going off to “real” school. Eeek!

The title is at the top in a two-tone pink and sky blue while the author’s name is in white at the bottom left. An info blurb, in white, is just under the title.
The title covers Alien Education two ways: Kitty has to learn all those protocols for each alien planet becoming part of the earth alliance and the Embassy kids are going off to “real” school. Eeek!

one hundred plus pages in the author was still recapping. Every character had to have their title explained, where Kitty had met them and where in the grand scheme of things they fit - so as there is a cast of thousands in these books this takes FOREVER. Honestly, just give us a character index and get on with the story already.
I always love visiting this world and Kitty is a pretty cool heroine. Smarter than everyone thinks, with great instincts.
The author has backed away from commenting on sarcasm/the sarcasm knob some what - so that is appreciated. But Lizzie's continual use of "Totes" just makes me want to slap her.
This felt like a filler book - we made incremental progress on the massive array of villains. But the ones featured in this book were more ineffectual/comic effect characters so didn't really care or feel any suspense/tension when their amazingly bizarre left field plot to take down Kitty et al was put into action. Zamboni?

It's hard to believe that we're 15 books into this series now but I'm very happy to say that its still just as much fun to read as it was in the very beginning. Gini Koch has created such a unique world populated with a giant cast of regular characters and an ever growing variety of alien species always ready to either cause trouble or save the day. Picking up one of these books is like going to visit old friends and it always amazes me how easily I'm able to slip back into this world and remember exactly who all the main players are.
As usual the story is full of action pretty much from the first page and there is plenty of Gini's trademark humour to make you giggle alone the way. Kitty and Jeff are trying to help the various alien refugees settle into their new home on earth while trying to figure out who is behind the latest robot doubles that keep crawling out of the woodwork. As if running a country and trying to help smooth Earth's entry into the Galactic Council wasn't enough they're also facing every parent's biggest nightmare when Jamie and some of the other embassy kids have their first day at school - the parent-teacher association. Truly if you thought the superbeings from the early books were bad just wait until you come across the head of the PTA!
We're back to the good old days where Kitty is right there in the middle of all the action, from food fights at the school bake sale to dance-fighting on ice at a fundraising hockey match Kitty is fighting to protect her family and friends from their enemies. It's no wonder Hollywood are so excited about the idea of turning her life story into movie "Code Name: First Lady", along the lines of mission impossible it has box office hit written all over it! Of course Kitty has never been one to crave the limelight and she'd much rather be left in peace to get on with her life but the public have never been so keen to see more of the First Lady and the President.
I don't want to say too much more but if you're a fan of this series then you're in for a real treat with Alien Education. It's everything you could want and then some and I'm so happy that the series is still going strong. I can't get hold of the next five books fast enough!

ALIEN EDUCATION is the fifteenth book in the Kitty Katt series by Gini Koch. That being said, I think it’s important to read the series in order. Not only is there a ton of world politics in this book, I simply think readers would have a better time if they started the book from the beginning. As always Koch delivers an interesting story. However, I did feel like the beginning of this one stalled slightly. It takes a couple of chapters to set the book up but once that’s completed, I do think the book finds its stride.Kitty is always a treat to read. Not only if she bursting with personality, but she always provides readers with a fresh look into the world. I love the fact that although her character has progressed over the series that she still remains the same heroine we’ve loved from the beginning of the series.
The same thing goes for Jeff who obviously plays an important role in the series. Yet through the eyes of Kitty he’s still the down-to-earth, kind person she fell in love with. Despite the developments in their relationship, I still think there’s so much room to grow. That being said, I feel like Koch can write plenty more books set in this series.
If you’re looking for a Sci Fi read that’s full of personality, then you absolutely need to meet Kitty and the gang.

Kitty, how I love you. This latest adventure with Kitty Katt keeps me rolling in laughter and snarky fun. I nearly missed this book coming out. Ms. Koch write so quickly and in hi-def humour. For those who have never picked up a book in this series, start from the beginning. This is not a standalone even if Ms. Koch recaps certain past experiences very well. It is best to read this series from beginning to end in order.
I loved this latest book. I have yet to read a slice into the life of Kitty that I doesn't keep me laughing and enjoying myself. What I love most about Ms. Koch is how she takes the realities of life and takes them to an incredulous level. What happens to Kitty is not too different than what most parents face. She worries about her kids. She has to work with the Parent Teacher Association. What is different is how out of control it can become when she is the wife of the President and other aliens think of her as their saviour. How does a woman find work life balance? This is a universal theme for the working woman who also wants to be a mother. This makes Kitty quite relate-able. When she is trying her best at a job which is beyond stressful with life and death situations, there are Queen Bee mean girls trying to take her down.
Not sure how Ms. Koch does it, but she perfectly blends being a mom protecting her kids with being a superhero, protecting the weak. Aliens all over are coming to Earth, hoping for the last stance against the evil oppressors. Whilst this is going on, an out of control parent with control issues decides to set Kitty up for failure. The way Kitty handles the PTA bake sale is impressive. Especially as we all know, Kitty does not really have a domestic bone in her body. I loved how she handles everything with a can do attitude and a healthy dose of snark.
This book is yet another page turning and action packed. It never stops. I would say this is the same old stuff just a different day, but somehow, Ms. Koch makes it feel different, each time the villains show up. Each twist makes it a variation of a riveting action/suspense theme. Of all the authors who are receiving movie or tv series deals, I really wish Ms. Koch would receive one. This series is perfect for a TV series or Movie. The characters are rich, the plots are well thought out and the world building is out of this world. I highly recommend this book to everyone. Buy it now!

Forget all those hypotheses about extraterrestrial visitations, read Alien Education! AE runs the gamut of bizarre things that could traverse space and travel to Earth! Koch rocks, with her ability to weave a fresh new spin in each new installment of the Kitty series. The integrity of the characters and the story continue to grow and evolve. I fall in love with Kitty and Jeff with each new story. Kitty plays an array of mad tunes while she meets new challenges and obstacles. Leave it to Gini to walk us down memory lane with her eclectic music selections throughout. This time around Kitty is fighting to keep her growing family safe and away from "Kittybot" and friends, and hybrid kids just to name a few! Kitty has her hands full! Oh, and did I forget to mention zombies?!?! Things like appearing on a dreaded morning show to a typical school bake sale have the potential to create all kinds of drama. Alien Education has it all, kick ass action, laughs, and sexy. I can't wait for more! We need to learn the identity of the Shadow!!!

This is a fun read as all of the books in the series. It did feel like there was more talking and explaining than necessary at times, but this being book 15, a recap of who's who and what's what can't be avoided.
That aside I fell right back in the world and crazy schemes that surround Kitty. I loved reading about beloved characters and to see new characters enter the stage as well.
As always there are several conspiracies and plots going on, and I had to keep paying attention to keep up with the developments.
All in all this is a fun addition to a great series. I'm looking forward to reading the next book.

So many things are happening at the same time for Kitty and her team. After the landing of various alien types from all parts of the galaxy, they are now trying to form a kind of normal life for those aliens - which includes education for their offsprings, so the Intergalactic School is built for them. At the same time a new form of robot emerges while Kitty is live on television. And of course the Club 51 is acting up and on top of it, it's time for the kids to start at Sidwell which brings Kitty face to face with a new hater of sorts.. or as Kitty chooses to say: Routine!
This is book number fifteen and I still love this series. This book is focused on the eduction of the kids as they start the new school year. Jamie is an early starter and I loved that this book has so much time with the little ones. We get a lot of Jamie, Charlie and Lizzie and they are simply adorable! I love that Gini is expanding the story with each book and there is always development even though at the same time it's the same business as usual for Kitty and Co. but I never feel like the story has worn itself out like other series do after more than ten books.
My favorite development in this book was Chuckie . It's hinted that Malcolm might have something going on with Adriana and I'm still on the lookout for that to be confirmed. We really need new couples and having said this, it would be great if we get to see Jerry and Abigail together. I was waiting for so long and after they were outed in the last book, I hoped we get to see them here together but were disappointed.
I'd really love to meet Gini in person and do a recap on her series and how she get all these hilarious ideas. I laughed so hard when Kitty fought an army of bots to the music of Lou Bega's 'Mambo No. 5' and was kind of dance-fighting to get results and then her entourage did the same. I was really howling when Gini described how Richard White did so well with the Mambo-fighting.. Gosh, I love this author! I was slow-reading this book as I have only one more left before the next one comes out in February 2019 which is AGES away..

Gini Koch definitely deserves the title of "Big Queenie" of the Sci Fi & Fantasy genre she is able to create books that mix over-the-top humor, crazy characters, romance and plenty of action that produces books that are addictive and hard to put down.
All of Gini Koch's books should come with a warning label "Do not start to read just before bed unless you don't need to sleep"
This one was HILARIOUS and made me want to watch a hocky game, hopefully YouTube will have something since I don't know how I would explain my laughing at the action (I don't think most people react that when watching hockey). I have a pretty high bar for comedy in a book since I think it take a lot of talent to perfectly mix action, comedy and romance but this book exceeded it by leaps and bounds. Going back into the Kitty Katt-Martini world is like going back home after a long stretch away.
I love going back into this world and seeing all these characters that feel like part of my family already.
In Alien Education Kitty and the gang have to deal with not only the different types of bots, droids and borgs that keep popping up, but also with with the kids' first day of school... I bet you don't know which of those is the most complicated ;)
Alien Education is a fast-paced thrill from start to finish and a joy to read. Fifteen books in and I cannot imagine not having this world and people to connect with.
Yes, Alien Education will be better enjoyed if you have read the rest of the series. A lot has gone on and I bet you won't want to miss every single adventure Gini Koch has concocted. As usual it took me a little bit to get into things and remember what had happened, but Gini does the recap so expertly that is practically unnoticeable and even enjoyable at times.

Review: “Alien Education”
Gini Koch’s most recent installment of her Alien series, Alien Education, is the fifteenth book. At this point, some authors beginning losing their touch, begin to go stale or lose touch with what brought fans to their series in the first place. Not Gini Koch. Her writing gets better and better with each book. Alien Education follows on the heels of Alien In Chief which without spoiling anything for readers has major changes and a major plot element resolved. Some authors might flounder at that point, grabble to find a new plot to develop but Gini jumps right back into her world without missing a beat, backtracking to plot hooks from early in the series and manages to do so in a natural way that makes sense for Kitty and crew.
Alien Education begins with Kitty dealing with the alien visitors from Alien In Chief and settling into life as the First Lady or Flotus. And one of the jobs of the Flotus is doing television shows, even morning shows. Kitty might not deal well with mornings but she’s willing to do her part to educate the American people about their new friends from the stars. But things don’t go as planned, which as we all know is normal for Kitty. Soon, Kitty is dealing with Kittybots, androids, and a new type of robotic lifeform, cyborgs. On top of trying to figure out who’s creating the cyborgs, Kitty must also deal with getting her children enrolled in a new school and encountering the mother of all bullies, the head of the PTA for the school.
One of the elements that Gini does well is having her characters work for information and discover what’s going on just like you would in real life. She keeps the the situations and the characters authentic and true to life. One example of this in Alien Education is that Kitty doesn’t just walk on stage knowing what’s going on. During the course of figuring out the next plot, she realizes that she and her friends have missed information and failed to figure out that there is another mastermind pulling the strings behind the scenes. While they figure out that there is someone else out there, they still have to figure out who it might be and who else is involved.
This leads to the next point. Gini Koch doesn’t always tie everything up in a nice neat bow. I happen to like this style. I like that while she resolves the major plot points, including the education angle, the mystery of the identity of the new mastermind is left for the reader to try and figure out and leaves material for the next few books.
So I do love Gini and I love the Alien series but there were some small factors that didn’t work as well for me, especially with this book. First, I always look forward to the sound track that is incorporated into Kitty’s life, especially the songs she listens to for hints to the problem at hand. The soundtrack was once again a winner but only after you get past the first couple chapters. At the beginning of the novel, Kitty is making a lot of quotes about songs. First, I didn’t get all the quotes and second, there were too many. I felt that they could have been pared down and I would have been fine.
The other issue for me as a reader was while the story does begin with action, like all the Alien books, this one felt slower. I’m not sure if that was because there were many new elements that had to be woven into the story or because we had such a big resolution in the last book but it took me a bit longer to jump into the novel than normal. The prologue was catchy and had a great opening line that immediately drew me into the story but the beginning with the morning show wasn’t as exciting for me. Analytically, I can figure out that Gini is setting the readers up for what comes next, introducing new characters and managing to give us a synopsis of the previous books. Most authors would flounder a lot more with the level of detail she packs into those first few chapters.
So even though it is slower, there are reasons and if you can enjoy the humorous depiction of perky morning show hosts and use the recap to remember all the details of previous books, you’ll enjoy the book. Plus, once you’re past the beginning, you’re right back into the action and the story, in love with both old and new characters. The story is exactly what I want from a Gini Koch Alien book, tons of action, tons of characters and tons of mystery with fantastic worldbuilding.

While not everyone is redeemable, while there will always be those that hate what is different, Kitty is all about embracing the different, the weird, the smart, the good in the people and aliens she meets and this is what makes the books so good, what makes Alien Education work for me.
Alien Education is all about Kitty at her best, finding the bad guys, figuring out what the bad guys are up to so she can save the day and along the way, she makes new friends, saves the innocent, and kicks ass. She is one of the best female characters out there, making mistakes but learning from them and loving her husband, her children, her family, and her friends, making the most of her talents and taking down the big bads. If you like kick ass heroines, and action packed stories, I recommend Alien Education. If you haven’t read the series, I do suggest starting with Touched by an Alien. The plot for each book is interlocked and connected so while you can enjoy the latest, you’ll bet much more out of Alien Education if you’ve read the preceding books. That said, go read the rest and catch up with those of us in the know. These are some of the best heroes out there and is one of the funniest, pop-culture, action packed series available.

Kitty does deal with a new scary big bad here, PTA. Dang those women, well woman ;), are scary!
One thing that I am very happy that have changed is that there were less music talk. 500+ pages of constant music references can be tiresome so this book was a total improvement.
Right, to the book then! Book 15, omg I know! When did that happen? Did I not just start reading these?! Now she has 2 kids and her husband is president. And she has a lot more animals ;)
There is always something bad coming. It's like you take down one tentacle and then 2 more come out. Arms that sends out robots, aliens, you never know who to trust. And then there are those stupid Humans first idiots too. They hate all aliens and want them gone.
And then there was the PTA at the new school Jamie is going too. That will give her some trouble too, but then when is Kitty not in trouble? Luckily she is kick-ass and has great friends.
Action, aliens and I need another A! I can't think of a good ending. Dang. Lol.

It's hard to write a review for this without any spoilers, but I'll do my best! Kitty and the gang are back and the adventures just don't stop. New & old enemies return, and love connections are made for those who really needed it. There are food fights, fem bots & more. Just when you think you know what's going on, something happens that makes you question everything.
As always, be prepared for lots of action, kittyisms, twists & turns when you read Alien Education.

4.5 stars - fantastic addition to the series. New villains to unmask, new friends, new tricky situations for Kitty to negotiate. Love that the kids get a little more "screen time" in this book - love the additions there as well.

Honestly... it was too much to buy that they'd let themselves get bullied by a moronic head of the PTA in such an obvious way. It's firstly just not who they are. Secondly, it makes them look weak and ridiculous - how can they handle galactic war and not this uppity sniffing bitch who is so inept that they have her on camera starting a food fight? With their PR machine, they could have destroyed this woman - and the school right along with her, if the school was part of the problem - by laying out how they'd been treated from the outset with the surprise bake sale, and showing the video of her team starting the fight. That along with the security risk of advertising to the world, for weeks, that the First Lady was there... it was just stupid. Way, way beyond any ability to suspend disbelief. And it was so wrapped through the book that it dragged everything down.
Also, man, I'm so tired of Reader. The way he lectures and blames Kitty for ridiculous things that she is in no way responsible for... Kitty needs to stop putting up with it, and start throwing some of Reader's fuck-ups into his face the way he tries to do to Kitty for everything that goes wrong in her general vicinity. Like This could easily all have become an assassination attempt (and it was frankly shocking that it wasn't), and that would ALL have been on Reader... Mr. I-am-in-charge-and-you-people-need-to-stop-doing-my-job. Maybe Kitty wouldn't do Reader's job so much if Reader actually gave even the smallest hint that he was capable of doing it himself. But no, he's too busy pissing in his territory to actually do shit.

The characters keep proliferating! Though Gini Koch does an excellent job of giving readers their background, I lose track now and then, especially those characters who've changed from bad to good--or vice versa, but I love this explanation when Kitty says: "Babe, look. I've forgiven literally everyone I interacted with from the Washington Wife class who's still alive. You were the last holdout. ..." The action, as usual, is non-stop, and there are some great scenes and dialog, starting with Kitty's interview (Kristie and Adam) and moving on to the hockey game commentators (Johnny and Mitch). Lots of snarky repartee too. There are the usual musical references--and their clues. I enjoyed meeting some of the new characters, but I miss some of the old characters, especially the Uncles. And I confess I'm still confused about who and what are the clones, the robots, etc.

Took me forever to read! But I finally finished it so go team 🙌 it was good but more 3,5 than a 4 I think. The new villain The Shadow was finally introduced.. also got to meet the Tinker that was cool, love Siler 💗
But most of the book describes only two days! Then a little break and a crazy hockey game!! But loved the music 🎶 especially the Latin party music at the hockey fight/dance and lets mambo to Mambo No.5!!!

This book felt like it was a little slower than the others and didn't have as many action scenes as its predecessors. I still loved seeing Kitty figure out the bad guys and win the day, I guess it just felt to easy at times and like the Gang wasn't in it as much. Still a wonderful romp and a great addition to the series, looking forward to the next one!

Another fun and exciting tale with Kitty and her gang. But...holy cow is there an overload of characters and they add a multitude every book. While most new addictions to each successive book adds depth to the ongoing adventure, there are now more than 100 close friends of the MC that are always having their back stories told. More than a little annoying and hard to keep track of.

Not sure why I am sticking with this series. It is just so silly and it is almost impossible to keep up with all the characters and plotlines. Gini Koch juggles all that brilliantly but I am pretty sure this is my last one.

Another solid entry in the series, with all of the plot elements we've come to expect. Nothing new, but why would I want more than the brilliance of This series. My only issue is that the cast of characters is getting so enormous that I wish the author would include an index of some sort.
