The Proposition by Naomi Knight is book one of Men of the Pacific. The book is not as steamy as the cover would make you think. You are introduced to the Tanaka family and you will love them . This book is John's story and it will keep you interest. It has some mystery, romance and deals with issues that are problems such as alcohol abuse, and staying with a relationship that is not good for you. In the end you get that happy ending but it is not smooth going. It also has a politic sub story. The characters are developed. The pace of the story is steady. I look forward to reading the two other brothers' stories.

Jemma Hale runs her own business and is the mother to her younger brother, Mano, as their own mother is incapable of taking care of them.

John Tanaka, former All-pro wide receiver has a successful business stateside and has not spent much time in the last years with his family in Hawaii. He was jilted by his girlfriend many years ago and just received a letter from her asking to see him, so he returns home. John has a very close and caring family.

Jemma and John meet at a school board meeting and the sparks begin to fly.
