The werecat flexed his claws, as he waited in the shadows. Griddlebone wished he could rescue them all, but his orders were clear. He could only take one ...
Debbie grew up in the UK in the East London suburb of Barking. She has lived in Israel, New York and North Carolina and somehow ended up in St. Louis, where she works as a writer, editor and a freelance puzzle constructor of word puzzles and logic problems. She lives with her husband, two very opinionated felines. She believes that with enough tea and dark chocolate you can achieve anything!
This is the fifth book I have read/listened to by this author and I look forward to listening to every book in the P.A.W.S. world. I am enjoying these side stories to the main P.A.W.S. Book, even if I don’t recall these characters in the first book. Guess I need to re-listen after listening to all the Tales from P.A.W.S. so I can place these characters. ——-
This is the first book I have listened to by this narrator ( Christopher Goodrich ) and I would listen to another. He did a good job with both the male and female character voices. He reads more than really performs the book due to his enunciation, but it is still a pleasant listen. He does add emotion. ——-
There are no explicit sex scenes, excessive violence, or swearing. ——-

Such an interesting short story told from the perceptive of a werecat. I have read / listened to many books from Debbie. All the P.A.W.S. books are just awesome, I was glad to get these books.
Griddlebone was to pick a teenager who could handle himself. He witnesses some horrible sights from his hiding place, thing that will shock you. Griddlebone has already made his choice on who he wanted to change, but you can get the book to find out how that goes.
Narrator did a good job on voices as well as reading it clearly.

If you have been following Debbie Manber Kupfer's The P.A.W.S. Saga this is a must read or listen to because it fills in some blanks. Thought this is a short side story about Griddlebone the werecat, it is important to the whole saga. It tells of how the werecats got their beginning with the Nazi wanting to build a better fighting soldier. Many of the children destined for the concentration camps were singled out by Griddlebone to save as many as possible. This is only 30 minutes on audio book but done well. Christopher Goodrich the narrator was true to the story and kept the flow of the story going as in his previous reads of P.A.W.S. stories.
Another short story from Debbie Manber Kupfer. In this story, set during WWII, the Nazis have created a shapeshifter - a werecat - to use as a weapon. The problem with creating weapons that are sentient is that they can think for themselves.
This was a very interesting take on the experiments the Nazis performed during WWII. It's a somewhat dark topic for a children's short story, but not overly so. The narrator, Christopher Goodrich, did a fair enough job for a children's story, but he was clearly reading more than performing. Still, it wasn't bad, and it is a story that I will listen to again.
I received this book from the author on StoryOrigin for an honest review.
Griddlebone is from the collection of stories called "Tales from P.A.W.S" - it is a short story of how one shapeshifter was "created" as a weapon by Nazis, but who turned on them instead.
This short story isn't too bad. It was decent and interesting. The narrator was pretty bland, but there really isn't too much to work with in this book. If you enjoy the P.A.W.S. stories, then this would be a book to read to gather more information about other members of P.A.W.S.
Nice little short that gives you a little insight into some of the characters you heard about in the main P.A.W.S. books. This starts with Griddlebone in 1940’s Vienna when the Germans started rounding up the Jewish people and taking them to the concentration camps. Griddlebone is allowed to save one person, and steals her out from under the nose of the Germans. The narrator did a good job
I received a free copy of this audio book from Story Origin for an honest review.
I enjoyed this short tale that give us Griddlebone’s back story... the origins of the werecats, and how he meet Esther.
I really enjoy these short tales by Debbie Manber Kupfer. They are an added bonus, giving more background to the lesser characters in the world of P.A.W.S.
Christopher Goodrich did a fine job with the narration.

I feel that I wasn't prepared enough for this book not realising that it would have been more useful to have read the previous books first. So I found the book a little confusing. That said I also didn't think much of the narrator and felt his voice was too monotone, no emotion in it and no different voice between the characters.
This is a sweet little story about shapeshifter cats who try to save some of the Jewish children destined for the camps during Hitler's Nazi reign. It was not what I expected and I have to say that I was a little sorry when it ended. It was a whole new take on WWII. I'd love to see the author write some more Griddlebone adventures.
Interesting short story, quick read. This shapeshifter story is set in Nazi Germany. Through Nazi genetic testing, the werecat was borne, namely Griddlebone … and used against them. Griddlebone turns against the Nazi's and is sent on a rescue mission. Will this he succeed? Find out in Griddlebone.
Eh,I wasn't impressed with the story or the narrator.Christopher Goodrich sounded like he was reading to children and this story seemed too violent for that age group.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.'
SURPRISING JUSTICE. Well, that was quite the action packed short story. First l thought oh no, l can't listen to this subject. Too upsetting. but lo and behold it was satisfying and just. Narrated perfectly.
Purrfect for that short commute at only 26 minutes, this story is sure to get you attached to the P.A.W.S. series or books. Intriguing and delightful in subject matter and characters, I wished it had been MUCH longer.
This book is a mixture of history (Nazi Germany) and Shifters. What a wonderful turnaround through the Nazi's own Genetic Experiments!! good story line.
A great short story to the P.A.W.S. series. It has a well developed storyline with interesting characters. I love how you can change into cats. I love cats. It is a great turn on the Nazi's experiments. I feel the story is way too short. I would have loved more. Enjoy!!!⁰
This is my first read in this P.A.W.S. series, so not sure how it all goes together. But this short story is intense. Griddlebone is a werecat genetically engineered by the nazis to be a spy. He turns on them and comes to the rescue of the Jews. Brave. Daring. Commendable. The narrator of this audio version did an ok job. There were a couple of characters voices I wasn't too fond of. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book from Story Origin.
Griddlebone (Tales from P.A.W.S. #3), my eleventh read from author Debbie Manber Kupfer. A well-written enjoyable 19-page/26-minute read. I look forward to the next books in this entertaining series. "I received a free Audibdle review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." 's narration adds to the enjoyment of the read. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
