Wanita May grew up in the fruit belt of Ontario - St.Catharines. Crazy-happy childhood, she always has had a vivid imagination and loads of energy.
The youngest of six -- four older brothers, and a sister -- taught her at a young age to be competitive in all aspects of life.
At sixteen, she began competing in athletics (track and field) and before she turned seventeen, she was representing Canada in high jump. She continued to compete, breaking Canada's JR High Jump record (1.92m - 6' 3 1/2" for those metric-ly challenged). She attented University of Toronto, and Kansas State University - winning CIAU's and becoming All-American 6x - NCAA Indoors Runner Up + more.
But you're not interested in her athletic career - unless of course you're curious to know she stands 1.70m (5'7") and has jumped 20cm over her head on more than one occassion. She's represented Canada at the World Championships, World Jrs., won Francophone Games, and loved every minute of every competition. From the grueling workouts, the crazy weights she lifted on her back, the days she thought her lungs were going to spit out of her mouth for lack of oxygen, the travelling around the world and the opportunity to read - her favourite past time.
Life continued with her husband (a distance runner from Liverpool, UK, who she met at KSU) and then their first, then second and finally third child. Their house became full of more imagination and stories.
Wanita and her husband run an online business, dealing in antiques and collectables - particularly jewelry and porcelain (one of the business' website: www.wadeincanada.com ).
After her father passed away in 2009, from a six-year battle with cancer (which she still believes he won the fight against), she began to write again. A passion she'd loved for years, but realized life was too short to keep putting it off.
Her first book, Rae of Hope - from the Chronicles of Kerrigan - will be available October 2011 by kNight Romance Publishing.
She is currently represented by Dawn Dowdle of Blue Ridge Literary Agency. Wanita is a writer of Young Adult, Fantasy Fiction and where ever else her little muses take her.
This book infuriates me. I love the fact that Rae kissed Gabriel, but I am so angry that he wasn't chosen. I am a die hard Gabriel fan and I hate Rae's and Devon's romance. They should not be together Rae and Gabriel should. I know that this seems to be unlikely, but I still have high hopes and I will not give up on Raebriel. Besides that, I love this book. I especially love the ending when Rae finds her dads letter and is uncovering something. I also love that Rae and Devon are broken up and that Angel is back in the picture. Also bring back Kragian. Kragian and Gabriel are my favorite, so naturally I was super excited when Kraigan showed up in Beth's house. But I hated how he abruptly left. Bring back Kraigan and get rid of Devon. I love this book and all the others and will be buying the next book right this second. If you have not read this book yet, ignore this whole review because it is full of spoilers. And if you find this review to be offensive at all, deal with it. I just literally finished the book and I am angry, and I need to vent. This is at no shade or offense to W.J. May, I love her books and do not want to shame or bad mouth them at all.

Spoiler** Even tho she finally ends up kissing Gabriel ... this was my least favorite book. Also feel like this should be $.99 cause I finished it in 2 1/2 hours not $4. Really bummed these books are getting to short yet going up in price. I will continue to purchase to support the author because I like the series but being totally honest, I do feel jipped. *i feel this way because I love the series so much. I want more of it that I’m being greedy and it’s showing by my exaggeration of cost. Lol
Oh boy, Things went crazy, not that it's unusual in Rae's world . But it was so intense I had to walk away from the book, put my kindle down and go ask hubby if he needed help. But the whole time I was away I was thinking about Rae and what was happening and going to happen. Now I have to find out what comes next....
Sometimes you forget these are only teenagers, young adults. Especially with what they're going through. Rae is constantly having to defend herself whether verbally or physically. When her mum steps in this time justice is served. But Rae still has so much on her shoulders and people are putting more there every day.
There is a few sad parts in this book, but there is a surprise that totally will blow you away as you keep reading to learn more about Rae, her friends, and her family. Make sure to grab the series and follow along as Rae learns the truth about herself.....
Heart wrenching and enthralling! This book did not disappoint. The twists and turns just keep coming. Suspenseful, thrilling, and full of new questions and character challenges.
Rae got confused just as any teenager and kiss Gabriel, Devon realized and breaks with her, after that she get a little mom love and is great to see that Beth still have the love and advice for her daughter even in a few words. The end is crazy...
I finally made my way back to this book that I started this summer. Rough year, that I just need a break from books.
The ending of this book just broke my heart a little. Rae and Devin’s future is up in the air. I just need them to be at happier ever after already. I have hope it will work out.
Great story, awesome writer ... Rae goes through alot in this book. If you have gotten this far into the series I don't need to encourage you to keep reading... this amazing series does that itself🥰🥰
Rae finds herself going through a series of emotions. Fighting old enemies, her psychotic half brother showing up, GABRIEL, and Victor from the Privy Council. It's one thing after another...enough to break anyone down. This one was heart wrenching for me. I'm not giving away anything, but I can't stand Gabriel! And Rae keeps going back and forth about being unsure of herself...it's very frustrating. You just want to smack some sense into her. It's still very much a 5 star book. My frustrations give the author all the credit. I feel what the characters do. It's a testament to her writing. Very well done!
One of the most emotionally resonant books in the series, Rae begins to question everything she’s fought for. The burden of her family name and the corrupt structures around her weigh heavily. Themes of identity and legacy are explored more deeply here, making it a thoughtful and mature entry. Action is balanced well with inner conflict, though pacing remains inconsistent.
Love Rae Kerrigan and can't get enough of her adventures with her friends and her first love. There are plenty of complications that keep the plot and characters on their toes.
Great but I can say a little short this time. The storyline is getting interesting in regards to the relationship of the group. What is going to happen next.
I LOVE these books, I just hate that I have to wait for each one to come out to read them. I love all the characters and I am enjoying watching Rae grow.
The books are enjoyable but very short. They could be more in depth but it's just typical teen stuff. Apparently teens can't keep their attention on a big book? Which is ridiculous! I loved reading when I was young and still do. I like the characters and the story line but again. too short.
