Kate has been reading almost longer than she's been walking. It's her first love, as she's sure it might just be yours too. She's a full-time writer and entrepreneur at heart. With more ideas than one person should be allowed, she is blessed to have a muse that doesn't seem to take a vacation and more energy that one might consider healthy.
Her focus is on paranormal and fantasy romance with the occasional urban fantasy thrown in for fun. She's spent most of her life wondering about the 'unseen' far more than what we're able to touch, see and feel. There just has to be more than we can access. She's sure of it.

I would like to thank the author, Kate Thomas, for providing me with an electronic copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review.
Held back by demons, Elsie watched helplessly as her brother Caleb was attacked by a large wolf. Given immortality, but doomed to search the world for her brother and preserve humanity by fighting demons, Elsie has spent the last two hundred years in search of the one who loves her most. In the form of a pendant, Elsie has the power of the angels and is known far and wide for her lack of mercy when using it. Will hidden dangers and an imminent threat prove to be Elsie's undoing, or will an unexpected ally save the day?
Resounding Desolation is fast paced and contains the possibilities for a very promising series. Elsie's hardened heart softens a little bit, allowing the reader to see a different side of the Huntress. Considering the circumstances and the times in which she lived, I was a bit surprised that Elsie, being a woman, did not face more of a struggle with local townspeople. Her strength and stoicism seemed realistic, especially in light of the fact that she had been searching for her brother for centuries. Moving forward in the series, I am curious to see how the author makes the transition to the story of the vampires and whether Elsie has a prominent place within its pages. Despite her faults, Elsie is admirable for her steadfast loyalty to her brother and her cause. Resounding Desolation is for readers who are fans of the paranormal genre, especially with regards to vampires and werewolves.
This is the second book in the series I have read, though I was a little confused to begin with that is in no way the author's fault but my brain trying to rewind from what I have known to happen in Resounding Truth.
As I read I found I got so caught up in the characters, some I loved and some I wanted to smack in the face with a fish, you'll realise who I'm talking about when you read it :p
Though I tend to shy away from fiction with a historical element, blame that on my history degree, Resounding Desolation was a surprisingly enjoyable read, I found that I was reluctant to put down when real life interfered.
I cant wait to see what happens to all the characters in the next instalment, as the secondary characters are equally as intriguing as the main.
Kate Thomas is such a well written author, writing in various genres, I would willingly read writing on the wall if she wrote the words.
I have and will continue to recommend this series to friends and family.
Kate Thomas never fails me. She is brilliant in her creations. I couldn't put it down. I found myself reading instead of getting things I needed done around the house. Elsie is a incredibly resilient women and her character is very complex. Her driving force is to rid the earth of all evil creatures at all cost. She uses her gifts and immortality to complete the task set before her and the Circle. For her the concept of loving a man is a fleeting dream. Never to become a reality. I can't wait to see how she handles discovering evil is not so black and white. What will she do with the blurred gray lines between good and evil.
I really enjoyed Elsie's part of the bigger picture. She is a great character that started listening to herself more than the things that were trying to control and influence her. Hopefully she can redeem and forgive herself for what she has done now, and in the past. I am looking forward to reading Lilith's story and to learn more about her and her plans for the future. Should be exciting!
Elsie has been give immortality but it comes with a price. On her quest across England in search of something that was stolen from her she realizes that love isn't a bad thing after all.
I received a copy of the book for my honest review. I absolutely love this series. It's awesome
