God says, “Follow me.” But we can think of a million excuses. We’re not smart enough, big enough, trained enough, capable enough—the list goes on and on. But God sees us through the filter of grace and calls us “enough” in Christ. The God of the Bible—who empowered Abraham, Moses, Esther, and others—is still calling and equipping us today. Walk with Heather C. King as she relates humorous and practical stories from the lives of Bible heroes, as well as her own life, to see that following is about obedience, relationship, and just saying “Yes!” to God.
Heather King is a busy-and-blessed wife and mom to four and the author of Anywhere Faith and Ask Me Anything, Lord. You can also find her writing about applying God's Word to everyday life with all its mess, noise, and busyness at http://heathercking.org
Having faith can calm us, give us peace and help us to look to the future with hope. In Anywhere Faith, author Heather C. King gives beautiful messages about faith. The author includes Scripture, too. While reading this book, I could feel my faith growing with each page. This book has an important message that everyone should read. Faith can be found in any situation. There are so many wonderful quotes in this book and I will refer to them as a daily devotional. This book gives me peace and comfort. I plan to give this book as a gift, too. Anywhere Faith is great for a Bible Study group as well. I did receive a copy of this book from the author and this is my honest opinion.
The author is fearless in her writing (she tells it like it is), Practical (everything she tells you is something that you really need to be doing in your faith as a Christian), helpful (she tells you things that maybe if you are a Christian for a while you may have forgotten she has brought to light again or, if you are a new Christian, things you need to know), memorable (what she says will stick with you, especially when she has you write Scripture out or prayers out - in counseling, or pastoring that is something they have you do to help you remember things), quintessential (what she is telling us here is what we all really need to know, like how not matter where you are GOD is there - and GOD may ask you to do something hard ie like Abraham to kill Isaac but HE will be there with you and will see your through it., and at times it will just to see your fai.)th and where it is at), and optimistic (although Abraham was asked to kill Isaac his promised son given him in his elder years, he went to do and as he was about to stab his son GOD stops him and HE just wanted to see his faith and let him know how much HE loved him and how HE will Bless him and his son). This can be a little slow in places but loveable in most others. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
The title of this book scared me a little, but excited me too. What if I could be SURE of what God is telling me to do with my life? If it were something I was afraid of, or something I hated, would I really do it? I hoped so but feared finding out for sure.
While reading this book, I was amazed at how much I learned and a little surprised at how my questions even changed. I CAN know for sure what God wants me to do. And not just with my life but with each question, mountain or molehill, and with all my decisions and activities. I learned how much God loves me and wants me to know His will. I learned how my excuses were keeping me from recognizing what He wanted me to learn.
And from the stories of men and women in the Bible like Abraham, Gideon, Martha, Jonah, Zechariah, Esther, Saul, and Moses, I found a mirror of my own inadequacies and mistakes. And after facing each of these, the author reassured me that, "God doesn't use us in spite of our failings; He uses us because we give those failures to Him."
I wish I could get this book into the hands of every Christian! There is so much to learn from it's pages!
Anywhere Faith is a spiritual growth book for women by author Heather C King.
The author grabbed my attention from the very beginning of the book. I was excited, by her tone of writing, to take the journey with her.
Like Abraham, do we want to have that anywhere faith? But, we feel more like Moses, inadequate. The journey in this book will help the reader see God makes us able. I especially appreciated the scripture verses included at the end of each chapter, so the reader can write them out and remember them.
The author lovingly brings out the thought we can’t do anything to earn God’s favor. We are to do just what he asks us to do. We only need to be available, whether he tells us to stay or go.
I recommend this book to new and seasoned Believers.

I read this book with a Facebook group (Our Daily Bread) and it was a fantastic journey. We read 2 chapters a week and then returned to the group to answer questions. Each chapter was a biblical narrative of one of our heros/sheros like Mary & Martha or Abraham. Then the author would parallel her experiences with our 1st century families I absolutely loved the nuggets shared and the comparisons. King is so on point when discussing our fears and how to overcome them by changing our focus and also our insecurities and falling for the comparison trap. This book is for anyone and if you are like me trying to figure out why you should read it ..well its well written, the truth shared is just that and its quite an eye opener to how you respond to your faith, this book was definitely a check up on my faith.
Anywhere Faith greatly inspired me. I learned a lot about myself and how to search myself concerning my faith. Am I truly listening to hear Gods voice or am I so wrapped up in pleasing others that I am truly missing out on God's direction. Am I letting my fears take over and stopping me from truly following the Lord and His Will for my Life. Heather teaches us through stories of people from the Bible and their battles with their faith and how they reacted to God's direction. Truly a great book to read if you are seeking to understand Faith and How Important it truly is in finding the true direction for God's will in your life.
This was absolutely stunning to read. I truly enjoyed every inch and detail of this book. It was biblically sound and still personal. I loved the Heather's personal accounts as well as the accounts of various people from the Bible. This wasn't heavy in theology or doctrine. It's the perfect read for an imperfect person. This dives deep into the excuses we use and how we can slightly waver in our faith.
I loved the questions and prayers throughout this book and even the points of application. This is a great book and the author herself is a stunning lady. Definitely recommend this book!

It was ok. I appreciated the study questions after each chapter and could see this being a decent short-study book since the chapters are short and easily digestible. However, I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone looking for anything deeper. Even though it’s not a long book at all, I never felt motivated to keep reading for any length of time. Her personal examples were weak and uninspiring—just couldn’t relate to her. Glad others liked it, but I’ll pass.
I loved this book. There were so many truth nuggets in the text that led me to spiritual insights I had not solidified in my heart. My Bible has several notes written it in as a result. I hope to share this book with others in a small group Bible study in 2021.
Wonderful insights and perspectives on God’s word. It was meaningful and applicable on so many levels of my life. Enjoyed sharing this book as part of a Bible study the author hosted through FB.
Overcoming fear and anxiety is truly easier said than done.
Heather brings some amazing points to the table, things for us to examine in our lives, taking us to the root of issues and NOT putting a spiritual bandaid on it.
This book was filled with so many nuggets of encouragement, scriptures, soul seeking questions that lead you to confront your anxieties and fears. Will they totally disappear nope, mine haven’t. Heather is not trying to cure you. She is giving you tools to fight with. So, when fear and anxiety present themselves, don’t go down without a fight. Knowledge in God’s word makes the fight a true victory!!!
This book had me hook, line and sinker right from page 1. I felt I could connect with the author Heather C. King in many ways. Her personal stories along with stories of heroes and heroines of the bible, made me connect with the bigger message that she was trying to get across. It's about your relationship with God, Do you trust Him? Do you rely on Him? Will you follow Him?
I was so pleasantly surprised to find questions at the end of the chapter. I was ready to answer them, to dive deeper into God's word and I was ready to find out what the path was that God set forth for me. This wasn't just a book to read, this was a book to help you discover so many things about yourself and how you can have an authentic relationship with God. I honestly could have done the whole book in one night, but forced myself to go slow, reflect and ponder on the questions. I would highly recommend this book! I so graciously thank NetGalley for the opportunity to review this amazing book.
This was an excellent book to read at the end of one year and the beginning of the new year. The book was suggested by an online Christian Book Club. I was struggling with the many parts of faith in God. This book took the parts like: trusting God to lead, stepping out of comfort zones, allowing yourself to be placed in a situation where a group of people will benefit and gave the reader Bible references and every day advice on each situation. This was not the type of book I could just read and then remember. I needed to take notes every time I sat down to read this book. If you are seeking a guide into the Bible, this book can open up the Bible for you. Want a book to ponder upon? This book has many ideas to wrap your mind around. The book would be a good book to discuss with someone. This book could open a teenager's eyes or help along an adult. Check it out!
This book is an amazing faith building and inspiring journey. The author does an amazing job writing this, full of encouragement and insight on how to let go of any fear and hesitation to follow God's calling in your life. Full of scripture references to build and direct your own personal bible study. Each chapter ends with questions to make you think and open discussions, prayer starter and practical application of what you've learned. I will definitely be keeping this book in my read again pile so I continue to benefit and grow in my faith and be more sensitive to God's calling and brave enough to obey.
I received a copy of this book as part of an online launch team, and I can honestly say this book has really changed my life. I have personally been going through some things that I believe are leading me to a change in my career, among other things. This book did such a great job of using the author's personal stories as well as individuals in the Bible to show me what I needed to see at this time. This book is great for an individual or for a small group study, especially as there are questions at the end of each chapter that you could answer and discuss.
Anywhere Faith is a book about how to trust God in every situation and circumstance of your life. It lets you look into the lives of Biblical heroes and heroines such as Abraham, Gideon, Martha, Mary, Jonah, Zechariah, Esther, Saul, Moses, and etc, these are men and women just like me they have make mistakes just as I have letting me know that God uses us in spite of our failings; "God uses us because we give those failures to Him." We just need to trust Him. Good read I highly recommend this book.
I loved this book! I was challenged in my faith and grew as I read it! Heather writes from her heart. She shares stories of different Bible characters and how they exhibited an Anywhere Faith. She then challenges us to do the same. She is open in sharing stories from her own life on how she has been working on developing her Anywhere Faith. If you desire to have a better walk with God, I highly recommend this book!
I learned so much from this book, each chapter ends with questions for reflection and discussion. This is the book about how to trust God in every situation and circumstance. Sometimes God appears silent, but we must wait for him to answer our prayer. Don't ever give up on Him because He never give up on you. When you feel like giving up, trust Him. After you read this book you'll find your faith become stronger. I highly recommend his book.
Anywhere Faith is a journey from practical day to day tasks with a dive into scripture. King begins each chapter with a personal story then quickly links it to scripture to let us know we are not alone in what we face. She writes that God is with us in everything we do and though it is tough to give up control of a situation, God already knows the outcome. Trust in Him.
Do you struggle in your faith? This is a book about how to have faith, trust God lean on him. Scripture based book. Examples are given about real life experiences and how to use these experiences to trust in faith. You can have faith anywhere any time just trust God.
Anywhere Faith is a book that inspires and challenges the read. The conversational style, Scripture references and questions at the end of the chapter all help to engage the reader. I would definitely recommend this book.
Another amazing book. I have been so lucky to get to read these books before they were released to the public. I hope you will get this book and see how God can work in your life. Love it!
