Zwei Kurzgeschichten sind in diesem Band vereint worden. In beiden geht es darum, dass aus Freundschaft zwischen zwei Männern mehr wird.
Cops and Lovers
His Roommate’s Secret
***This book was provided to me in exchange for an honest review***
Story #1 - Cops and Lovers: This was a fun short. I did enjoy it but it felt like it was just a snippet of a bigger book. Or more of a sequel/conclusion of, say, a previous short, showing where they are now. That is, the author clearly states in a note before the story, that this was a really, really short read on her blog before she expanded it and released it in this new little anthology and though it was good, again, it does feel, to me anyway, still too much like a snippet. Like, I feel there really, really should have been another short released before this showing how they met when one of them joined S.W.A.T and met the other already there and then how they got romantically involved. Of course the author could still do something like that in a 'prequel' or whatnot, and again, I'm not saying it's bad, it's actually an enjoyable read it's just, I personally wish there was that small short story before this introducing their first encounter. * 3 /5
Story #2 - His Roommate's Secret: Now this was such a fun, cute read! It is a short so things are briefly explained about the roommates and obviously proceed quickly but it's all the info you need to enjoy this as a short romance. Great for a small sip of coffee or tea in a lazy afternoon. My favorite of the two. I really don't have much else to say other than I hope there is another story about them! lol Really enjoyable! *4.5 /5
2.5 stars I enjoyed the first story, I wanted more of Sawyer and Finn, I think been an established couple worked for this short story. Would read this story again.
Second story about the room mates, I didn't enjoy as much. It didn't work for me maybe because again a short read the relationship felt rushed.
4.5 Stars. This a small collection of 2 books. I really loved Cops and Lovers. Sawyer and Finn were two super sexy SWAT teammates/lovers. Finn is the more sensitive of the two. A scary incident put him in a place that he felt he could no longer be partners with Sawyer. Sawyer had a hard time accepting this but he finally sees what is most important to him. I really loved this short story. It was so well written and kept my attention.
I was not over excited about His Roommate's Secret. It was an ok book , but not totally great for me. I was really frustrated with Rex because he is pictured as this big burly baby. I felt his character was too sensitive. I am glad that Brady got his HEA and also Rex. I am glad that Rex manned up and fought for Brady. All in all this were two good short stories

These are dramatic and steamy stories. Sawyer is stubborn and oblivious. Finn is strong and determined. When Finn is faced with the reality of the dangers of the profession they share, he knows they can't continue working and sleeping with each other. The problem is getting Sawyer to face the truth, unfortunately he has to be harsh to do it. Sawyer feels abandoned, until he finally gets it. Brady and Rex have been roommates for two years, and Brady has been in love with Rex for mot of that time. One day Rex suddenly comes out to Brady and kisses him, then he runs away. Brady is mad and confused, even more so when Rex keeps avoiding him. Insecurity and trust are hard for Rex to overcome.

These two stories are so well written that you feel part of the story. With Finn and Sawyer you can feel Sawyer questioning why things need to change. The uncertainty of coming out. When Sawyer sees the light of what life would be like if he lost Finn. This story touches your heart. Brady and Rex are amazing friends who hide their true feelings until it becomes to much. I really enjoyed the unfolding of their journey. This is a book well worth reading in the new year.

Thank you for the ARC read. Cops and Lovers: Being part of SWAT was like breathing for Sawyer and Finn. Sawyer and Finn had chosen to take their friendship to a new level, one has to choose between life of his career or his love. loved how Finn make Sawyer why he feels the way he does. His Roommate's secret: Rex and Brady telling was a short sweet story. How misunderstandings and assumption can lead to confusions for all parties involved. Happy about the ending of these story's.
Two different stories about miscommunications and doubts. The first is a story of two SWAT partners who have to choose between their relationship and staying on the team.
Second story is about two roommates who've known each other for two years and the straight one announces he's also gay. And wants more.
I really enjoyed the first quick read, feeling the emotions between Finn and Sawyer, especially the moment when Sawyer realizes that Finn is right. So good.
This is a great set of two well written short stories. The characters are relatable, and the plots believable. I especially loved Finn and Sawyer's story, and what it took to make Sawyer understand Finn's feelings after almost losing him. Sometimes it takes being forced to make a choice to find out what really matters.. Great stories with plenty of heat!

I definitely preferred the first story of the two. In the first one, the characters had a little bit of depth and I knew what their feelings were and where they were coming from. In the second story, it did not feel the same way, I was not very happy with how either of the characters acted. It was definitely only two stars for me, but since the first one featured S.W.A.T. (even though we did not really see any action), it bumped up rating of story #2 for me.
These stories were really good. I enjoyed reading them. The characters had a great chemistry between them and the storyline was written very well. The characters started off as friends and turned it into being lovers.

Friends and Lovers gives two unique love stories of Friends becoming lovers and being in love. The first story is about Finn and Sawyer both SWAT members and knowing that one will have to walk away from a job that the both have shared. The second story is about college students who realize what they mean to one another beyond the friendship.
Finn is very emotionally smart and I liked how he was able to extract that discussion from Sawyer even though he gambled that he might lose him in the process.
His Roommate's Secret: Brady and Rex
Rex's personality was so sweet. Brady's was not as developed it seems even though it was his POV we read.
I really enjoyed these short reads. While I am very familiar with Sloan’s work, having hooked me with Swept Away years ago, this is a great way for someone new to the author to get a feel for it. Of course since both of these are friends to lovers, you know I’m going to love them.
Two wonderful gay stories as friends become lovers. See how this changes and whether it will be for life. Will there be ups and downs? Will they stay forever? See how they get on

I love Sloan Parker's full-length novels so I thought it would be great to give these two shorts a try. These were two very short reads with a heavy emphasis on hot male on male action. 'Cops and Lovers' featured Sawyer and Finn as two older, mature long time lovers, friends and co-workers who had to make a tough decision for their relationship to go on. 'His Roommate's Secret' features two younger men Brady and Rex who were college roommates just learning that they actually cared about each other.
This was a very quick lunch time read that was enjoyable even for the shortness of the stories. I prefer a bit more length and detail in my stories but if you're just looking for a short, sexy romance with a lot of hot male sex then these are the stories for you.
However, I think they were far too short to be worth paying $2.99. I know that the prices of the books are not established by the author, that they have no control over it, and that it is the publisher who sets the price, but any book that short (47 pages on my ereader) I do not think should ever be more than $0.99. So if it ever goes on sale for that price I would recommend giving it a try. I'm just not sure any story that short is worth $2.99, no matter how good they are.
There are times when you have a long or exasperating day and want to just relax and read a nice, long book. And, there are others to where you would really rather just be able to get right to the climax of the story as quickly as possible. Today was one of those days for the latter. This pairing of short stories by Sloan Parker hit the spot. The MC's in both were complicated and well thought out. The pure passion portrayed in these men was exhilarating. Thrilling. And, I couldn't help to picture them as I read, feel what they were feeling. I melted with the heat of their relationships. Their longing for one another. It was fast paced and intense. There's some angst, but these lovers all fight their way through it to be with the men they love. I love a good short story as much as I love the long ones. I will say that if there had been more to these, longer versions, I wouldn't have gotten any sleep tonight because I probably would have been up most of it reading. This author is now on my favorites list. If she writes short stories this good, I can hardly wait to delve into her longer ones.
True Sloan fashion...loving, sexy, erotic, sweet, touching, endearing. All the wonderful experiences she always gives us with her stories. These two stories are short but no different. In fact, I usually have a hard time enjoying short stories/novellas because they rarely have enough grit for me to sink my teeth in and connect and enjoy. NOT here. Short, sweet and sexy. Lovable MC's and touching short glimpses into their falling or staying in love. A definite joy to read.
They were sweet little stories but too short. I liked the second story better than the first. Both had one MC who was annoying. I prefer Sloan's novels.
