Take a wild, hilarious romp through The Enchanted Forest with Snow White and her special brand of crazy misfit friends!
Snow White has successfully hidden from her stepmother for ten long years. Until now. Max, the Huntsman, has shown up in her classroom with a warning. Her stepmother is after her, and he wants Snow to come home and claim her throne.
After telling Max to shove it, Snow returns home only for her friends to talk her into attending the once in a decade Fairytale Conference. She reluctantly agrees, but Snow is dead set on one thing — staying far away from the Huntsman who haunts her dreams. When she shows up to the conference with her two best friends in tow, things start going awry right away. Mere minutes after arriving, they find themselves thrust back into the world they’ve tried so hard to avoid. Now, along with the help of her friends, Snow is struggling to stay one step ahead of the queen who wants to destroy her — and the Huntsman who wants to possess her at all costs.
The hunt for Snow is on. But who will find her first?

I demand for more books of this series to come out as quickly as possible! You hear me, God?! Help the writer deliver more soon, I'm dying here!!!
And with this prologue in mind, try to get in my shoes, because I'm really over the moon with this book, and I think I developed a new kind of syndrome for Babin's writing, despite reading a book of hers for the first time - let's call it "Babinism" for now, ok? So, yeah, try to be patient with this fangirl here, since yours truly is still trying to keep her blabbering in control after days of having finished readind the book.
We all know about Snow White. And her evil stepmother, sorceress extraordinaire, bitch to the high heavens, et cetera, et cetera. And the Huntsman - be honest, real women like the guy more than they do good ol' Prince Charming, right? (and that was way before we saw Hemsworth and Dornan impersonating him and giving us massive tingles in our princess parts)
Now, imagine our dear pale-skinned princess escaping to our world, and taking her life in her own hands, by learning hand-to-hand combat, and how to shoot. Take it a step further and think of her as obsessed with all her firearms and weaponry - trigger-happy, too. Got it so far? Good. What you'll do next, is picture the Huntsman, a sexy as heck man who takes rough Alpha male to a whole new level, have him between the dilemma of whether he should screw her senseless or kill her because of the evil queen's enchantment; add all the famous fairytale characters with a healthily heavy dose of inner sadism and badassery; mix them all up. Shake and blend the batter like your life's depending on it. And voilà!
You get a tale of awesome adventure, action, mystery and magic! A wonderful story full of powerful characters with depth, capable of character growth. A romance that burns at the first touch, and manages to make your panties melt through mere words and glances - or through fighting and murder threats, because whoever wants normal, anyway?
Ms. Babin goes straight to all my pet peeves - fairytale princesses, sex behind closed doors, small book that leaves me at a cliffhanger - and crushes them all beneath her talented thumb. Then spits on them for good measure, all the while smirking at me - I mean, yeah, that's how I felt as I was reading - like she's mocking me and telling me "Yeah, no, that's not how it's gonna be, it's not gonna be your stereotypical book. So go wear your big girl panties, sit tight, and don't think even for a second you're leaving that chair until you've finished ALL of it. You're gonna love it, that's an order! You can worship my writing prowess later. And you're very welcome, by the way."
(I've got issues, ok? Don't judge me! Lots of people feel like they're communicating with the writer of something they're reading - possibly, probably, maybe...)
Well, you did it, you amazing woman! You made me worship you with every page I turned. You made me weep when it was over. You turned me into a mere puddle at the sight of a single gun shooting in the story - or that wonderful line of skinning while watching, OMG, I think that was when I completely lost my shit!
In case I haven't said so already, I want more! More of this amazing story. More of Babin's spectacular writing. More of Belle, and Robin, and Cyndi and the rest. More of the D in the dysfunctional. MORE MORE MORE!!!
P.S.: Dear Robin, there's still something I want to tell you. One, can I slap your butt? I'm having weird fantasies about it for some reason... And two...
Just sayin'...

This is a really unique revamp of the Snow White Fairy Tale. I would like to mention though that there is a second book about the characters which I didn’t know until I was half way through the book which miffed me just a bit. Nevertheless this is a fantastic read and in the end I loved it. But I do not like a cliffhanger. 4 dysfunctional stars. Another plus point is that “How I Met Your Mother” is mentioned.
Snow White ran away from the Enchanted Forest due to the Evil Queen/Stepmom Naomi. Snow now lives in Mystic Falls with her two best friends Cyndi (yes we’re talking about Cinderella) and Belle. The Belle. As the displaced Princess for her Kingdom she receives an invite.
„Your Royal presence is requested at the hundredth annual League of Underground Fairytale Characters and Formal Ball. Conference dress is business casual. Ball dress is obvious. Remember, Princess Snow, no weapons of any kind will be allowed into the ballroom. Please leave the bows, knives, guns and lasers at home. And, dear, please refrain from punching anyone. We haven’t forgotten about your coming of age ball.”
Snow is a kick ass heroine and I really liked her. She is strong, vibrant and not the least bit of annoying. Snow is a practical girl give her, her jeans and chucks and she is happy. Not to forget her guns.
“oh Snow! How exciting! We get to attend a ball!” I sat there cleaning Sig Sauer P226. I loved this gun so much that I almost wanted to make out with it.
Just to complicate matters the Evil Queen has enlisted the help well more like he is forced to of the Huntsman or first name basis is Max. Max is under a compulsion spell to kill Snow. But they also have the hots for one another.
“We are two of the most dysfunctional peple that I know.I don’t want to shoot you; you don’t want to shoot me. You’re angry at the world, and I’m under a magical enchantment to kill you. Could dating get any more complicated than this?”In answer, I pulled the gun from my shoulder holster and shot him in the kneecap. As I hauled ass around him, I felt a tug of remorse. Max is well Max and I love him. He is strong and he has his reasons for staying under the compulsion of the Evil Queen. Very sad. The chemistry and the banter between the two is great. I really want them to have their HEA: There is a huge power play and it is all evenly balanced. Max wants to prove himself but he just needs to get back what he lost.
I beg of you not to look at me like a monster, but as a man who fights every day to be free. A man that wishes to be with you against all odds. And a man who once again hopes to hold his daughter in his arms, free of the wicked ties that bind me.
We also get to see Red Riding Hood, Robin Hood, Rumpel and Peter Pan as well as Grumpy. I hope that they get books as well. But now all I have to do is wait for the second book. Only Ms. Babin knows how long though.
This was given to me by Netgalley in exchange for a honest review.
I am enjoying reading books that are new versions of stories from our past; from our childhood. This is a another new twist on Snow White, including the Huntsman. I thoroughly LOVED this book.
The story is set in modern times. Snow has been chased from her kingdom by the evil stepmother, Naomi. Naomi’s ultimate goal is to stay queen. The kingdom is in another realms, and the book always talks about Snow’s life “on Earth.” Snow’s roommates are Belle (yes that Belle), and Cyndi (“Cinderella”). Snow works as a private investigator, and due to her past, has trained with guns and hand to hand combat. Snow is bad ass.
Snow was pursued by the Huntsman, Max, ten years before. Max is under the spell of Naomi; though he is drawn to Snow, he also cannot stop the compulsion to try to kill her because of Naomi.
I enjoyed most everything about this book. I loved the modern day setting. I loved the other worldly realm of Snow’s kingdom that she decides she must now reclaim. It will not be easy for her, as many of those she left behind feel resentful. After all, she left and they have been ruled by her wicked stepmother. Grumpy isn’t happy with her. Maleficent also appears and aids in Snow’s journey, as well as Robin Hood. And Rumpelstiltskin? He is not what you expect at all. I hope that we get to read his story in a later book.
S.E. Babin has created wonderful characters, wonderful locations, and an adventure that makes you want more. I was sad at the end of this book for it to end because I wanted MORE. Fairy tale, romance, action adventure – this book has it all. The writing draws you in and you do not want it to let go.

This is an interesting twist on the classic fairy tale, with Snow a cryptozoologist by day, PI by night. She (and her two BFFs Belle and Cyndi) are living amongst us mortals after being on the run from her stepmother, who as we all know, wants her dead. Unfortunately she has to attend the Magical Convention, which will bring her face-to-face with not only her stepmother Naomi, but also Max the Huntsman, who she has the hots for. And he has the hots for her, but it's a catch-22 for him because he is magically tied to Naomi and under a spell that has him tasked with eradicating Snow permanently. I imagine that would be the end of any post-coital bliss....
I also enjoyed seeing how other fairy tale characters were displayed in this story, and although this book does end in a cliffhanger (which I'm not real fond of), the overall story was engaging enough that I do plan on reading the next book in the series.
Ten years after the Huntsman allowed Snow's escape from the Enchanted Wood, she receives an invitation to a convention for fairy tale and mythological characters. Knowing her stepmother, Queen Naomi, wants her dead, and that the Huntsman may not be able to resist the compulsion to kill her, Snow is reluctant to go. Her friends Cyndi (yes Cinderella) and Belle convince her to attend. Snow rapidly learns that unless she acts, the Enchanted Wood will remain forever under the power of Queen Naomi.
The Hunt for Snow is the first novel of The Fairytale League, a romantic urban fantasy. Babin's novel provides a delightful tribute to favorite fairytale characters including: Robin Hood, Rumpelstiltskin, Maleficent, Little Red Riding Hood, and many more. While not always in line with tradition, the reinterpretations fit well into the plot.
At the heart of the story is the romance between the Huntsman, Max, and Snow. Although Max is desperately attracted to Snow, Queen Naomi controls his actions through magic. Snow is also attracted to Max, but knows that if he can't fight the magic, one of them will end up dead. Max's inner conflict is easily seen through changes in behavior and dialogue. It was easy to believe the differences occurring when Naomi's power came into play.
The Hunt for Snow ends in a cliffhanger, but can still be considered a complete novel.
I truly enjoyed this light romantic urban fantasy. I would recommend this novel to anyone who enjoys books inspired by fairytales, such as fans of the graphic novel series, Fable, and people who enjoy romantic fantasy.
I received this novel from the publisher and Netgalley.com in exchange for an honest review.
I received a copy of this novel through Bliss Book Promotions in exchange for my honest opinion, and I absolutely loved this novel! It tells the story of Snow who was chased from her world ten years ago by Naomi, her stepmother, and Max, the huntsman. Now she lives with her best friends, Belle and Cyndi and things are okay, that is until she receives an invitation to the convention. Overall, I thought this novel was great. I love fairytales, so I definitely appreciated the guest appearances by Belle, Cyndi, Robin Hood, and so forth. I can't wait to read the next novel in the series!
I have so many issues with the backstory. In fact, I kept going back to make SURE this was the first book in the series because I kept thinking that there must be another book where she explained everything. Why are Belle and Cinderella without their princes? How is the evil queen controlling people? Why haven't her people rebelled? How does the Enchanted Land interact with this one? Why, in god's name, is there a conference for being a fairy tale character when the land is apparently just another dimensio?. It's not like we have conferences to be residents of Earth. ("Earth...why's there only one moon?" or "Geography for the bewildered." or "Paper money-how it works")
So, if you completely ignore the lack of worldbuilding and, mostly, a lack of character building-(letting the fairy tale stand in for the fully fleshed out characters these were supposed to be) this is a light romp of a tale. I just couldn't take the lack of any depth whatsoever.
I’ve loved all books by S. E. Babin but this one might just be my new favorite. As a young girl I loved fairy tale books as all girls did but as an adult you come to realize that fairy tales are just that, fairy tales. Life is not always rainbows and unicorns or perfect princesses and princes. Who needs that when you can have snarky kick ass princesses who can wield a gun or a knife with the best of them. Snow White is just that and when the evil queen comes to kill her and her friends Cinderella and Belle she finds herself fighting for her life and finding out that maybe it’s time for her stop hiding out in Earth and make her way back to the Enchanted Forest.
This book does end on with a cliffhanger but book two is already out and even if it wasn’t its well worth the read! I loved every minute of it.
Well, what could be a better way to start a new year - with a book! And this retelling reimagining of the tale of Snow White was perfect.
For lack of a better word this story was “Cool” or “Hip” or whatever. The characters many of whom we all know from our childhood are there in the telling - but they also blend seamlessly with the modern world.
It’s an action tale - a tale of good and evil a tale of love and loss. The only killer for me was the “cliffy” ending.
Now that is a Snow White retelling! Snow fights back after being chased out of her home. I like it! It's not a place that has many happily ever afters but strives for happy endings. But Snow tries and tries to fight her own battles with her best friends Cindy and Belle at her side. Snow is awesome! Great teen read. I really enjoyed this one!
Everything this author writes is always good and I am in love with this remake of a well known fairy tale! Snow is a fantastic character along with her friends, Belle and Cinderella. I loved every word!
I received an eARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
The Hunt For Snow by S.E. Babin is a reimagining of the classic fairytale Snow White. Snow escaped from the Enchanted Forest ten years ago and has made a life for herself in Mystic Falls on Earth. She's a professor in cryptozoology and a private investigator on the side, living with her two friends Belle and Cyndi. Everything is fine or at least she thinks it is until she gets an invitation to attend a conference from the Enchanted Forest. Suddenly she finds herself back where she was ten years ago, trying to survive the wrath of her step mother the evil queen Naomi and her Huntsman Max. Can Snow beat the queen and take back her kingdom?
Alright I'm going to be brutally honest for a few minutes. There were parts of this book I really disliked and parts that I loved. I hate that!! It makes it so hard to write the review. So let's take a minute to break down what I liked and disliked...
What I Liked
I really enjoyed the concept and plot behind the story. Snow escaped Max (because he let her) ten years prior and has lived a quiet life on Earth ever since. While there she's trained herself in battle, studied the mythical beings of earth, and basically prepared herself for if she ever had to face the huntsman again. The conference that brings her back to her old life is interesting in concept and brought a few plot twists as Snow comes face to face with the people she left at the hands of her stepmother.
The book is an interesting play on urban fantasy as it brings the fairytale characters to our world and in our setting, trying to understand technology and TV. In fact, I love the author's use of pop culture references, such as one instance with the slap bet from HIMYM and a Doctor Who reference.
Max....enough said ;)
What I Disliked
Unfortunately for me, there were more things I disliked than liked in this book. First the characters. Snow could have been a really strong heroine, however some of her characteristics with that of her friends Cyndi and Belle gave me the impression of a love-scorned teen instead of a woman who is a college professor. I found not just Snow, but all of the characters a little immature. Maybe it's just me, but if I had an evil stepmother trying to kill me and a kingdom to save having the hots for some guy would not be on my mind.
Then there was Naomi, the evil queen/stepmother. Basically she didn't seem that evil to me. She wasn't scary in the slightest. In fact I felt like she was the mean girl in high school who no matter how much she wanted to be the popular one she couldn't so she made Snow's life hell. I mean yeah she was trying to kill Snow, but really she was just a jealous woman acting like a teenager.
The pop culture references...while I enjoyed these I also found them off-putting. Here are these characters who haven't lived on earth for very long making references that in reality they wouldn't know. Also using our religion to curse...would the character even know what they were saying and wouldn't it make more sense to use what is used in the Enchanted Forest? I don't know I just found it distracting.
Max and Snow....I didn't understand this relationship. Max was under a compulsion by the Queen to kill Snow. Somehow he breaks the compulsion to allow Snow to escape the first time. But there is no indication that they knew each other. Yet somehow he breaks this really powerful spell to save a girl because of a pretty face. Then there's their first night together and basically every encounter they have that is very lust-filled. I just didn't buy it.
My Conclusion
Overall the book was just okay for me. In fact if I'm staying honest with you, I had a hard time reading it. The characters' immaturity, the lack of actual romance, and the various pop culture references were distracting and a little on the annoying side. Also for an urban fantasy, there was an amazing lack of fantasy until a good half way through the book. Now in saying all of this, the author did a good job of laying the foundation for the series as a whole. I expect that there will be more fantasy and more from all the characters as the series progresses. If you enjoy contemporary, new adult fiction with an urban fantasy flare, then I believe you will enjoy the book. Just keep in mind that it is a very loose interpretation of the classic Snow White story.
I had a few issues with this book. The first and most importantly being Snow herself. I didn’t like her. She’s abrasive and tetchy and not particularly likable. It’s perfectly understandable that she has a few issues thanks to being chased out of her own kingdom, but she’s violent and angry and annoying, and pretty inconsistent. One minute she doesn’t want anything to do with the Enchanted Forest, the next she’s hurt that no one from there wants much to do with her either. I completely didn’t buy the idea that she’s a college professor, and found it really hard to work out how old she’s supposed to be. She acts so immature all the time. Then there’s her whole relationship with the Huntsman, Max.
I find it pretty worrying when all three women in this book – Snow, Belle and Cyndi – apparently like it so much when the men they fancy threaten to kill/harm them. I know fairytales are twisted, but a promise to stab someone with a knife or otherwise bury something else inside her is not sexy. Or not to me, anyway. At least they all realise that Snow and Max’s relationship is dysfunctional, but I can’t say I found any of it particularly romantic. They know nothing about each other – except that Max is under a compulsion to kill her, which he can some-what overcome because of how attracted he is to her. Although apparently being close to Snow makes the compulsion worse… yeah, I couldn’t figure it out either.
The plot itself is all right, if you like your fairytales with a heavy Disney-fied gloss. The characters are definitely more animation studios than Grimm. I still don’t quite understand what the whole point of the convention was, since the only people Snow and co meet are from their own realm, and Naomi is able to undermine everything so thoroughly. And just why/how was Belle born with a technomancy gift when she comes from a realm with so little electricity? Sure, it makes her useful on Earth, but she wasn’t born there.
Mostly Snow and her friends run around aimlessly, missing some obvious things, raising their own stupidity stakes and occasionally making the right decisions while Maleficent provides the magic, Robin Hood flirts, the Huntsman grapples with Snow and makes creepy (sorry, I mean romantic) threats and Naomi wanderers around doing “evil” things and laughing maniacally. She does that a lot. So does Maleficent. It’s important to laugh maniacally if you’ve a bad-ass reputation to protect, especially when your actions threaten to undermine it. Oh, and Rumpelstiltskin has had a makeover. Now that I didn’t see coming, and I’m still not sure how I feel about it, to be honest.
It’s not a terrible book, but it didn’t work for me. I like my characters to have more depth, both good and bad, my fairytale conventions to have an actual point and my romance to be somewhat romantic. It’s an easy enough read, though, and there’s plenty of plot to carry on into more books. I just won’t be reading them.
(I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.)
I really enjoyed this book! I love this author, and I'm a huge fan of her Abby series so was kind of expecting this to be more of the same, but with different characters. However, it is much different and I enjoyed even more for those differences! I love reading modern takes on Fairytales and especially when they mix all the characters together. If you like the show Once Upon a Time, I think you will love this series!
Lets get what I don't like out of the way because there wasn't much. I don't like the cover, I just think that it is a little I don't know.. kitschy. I personally think that it could have been done in a different way but the cover did not take away from the rating or the book it was more of a side note after I finished the book.
This book is set in the modern era so while there are bows and arrows, there are also glocks and sub machine guns. This is important because I believe this is one of the best attributes of the story. The author seamlessly integrated both the enchanted forest and medieval weaponry with current luxuries.
Okay to the story line. So Snow White, yes that Snow White escaped (i.e. ran away) from the Huntsman, her evil step mother Naomi, and the Enchanted Forest to live her life in our world. For ten years Snow worked as a Private Investigator and lived with her friend Cindi and Belle. Yup you guessed it, that Cindi and Belle.
Well every ten years the Enchanted Forest comes to our side of the veil to take part in a week of classes, drinking, dancing, and general enjoyment at the decennial Fairy Tale Convention. Although Snow does not want to go, she is personally invited and feels that it may be time to reconnect with those she left behind. Okay honestly Cindi and Belle pretty much drag her to it. While there she sees the one man who not only is trying to kill her but also makes butterflies jump for joy in her stomach.
While at the first night's dinner Naomi dropped the bombshell that Snow was within 72 hours of forgoing her inheritance and her rightful place in the Enchanted Forest. With only 72 hours Snow and her friends must transverse getting back to the Enchanted Forest and enter the castle before the Huntsman and Naomi kill her.
This is a solid book that takes the fairytale creatures that everyone knows and loves and makes them real characters, with emotions, snarky attitudes, and personalities. The writing was strong and really engaging. I really enjoyed the plot and character development. I really enjoy the magic abilities that the girls had and how it transferred from the Enchanted Forest to the world. I really enjoyed this book and will be looking for the next in the series.
The Hunt For Snow is the first book in the Fairytale League series by S.E. Babin. Snow’s past is shrouded in mystery. Mild cryptozoologist by day, private investigator by night, Snow is dead set on one thing, staying far away from the Huntsman who haunts her dreams. When she shows up to a conference for those from the Enchanted Forest with her two best friends in tow, things start going awry right away. Mere minutes after arriving, they find themselves thrust back into the world they’ve tried so hard to avoid. Now, along with the help of her friends, Snow is struggling to stay one step ahead of the queen who wants to destroy her, and the Huntsman who wants to possess her at all costs.
The Hunt For Snow started of quickly, almost making me thing that I had missed something even though this is the first book in the series. However, the world and character building quickly fixed that feeling. Snow is a tough character, she tries not to care, and because of her past relies a bit to much on weapons and fighting. However, she is quick thinking and really does care about her friends and anyone that depends on her. The relationship between Snow and the Huntsman is extremely complicated and full of anticipation and hard choices. The Huntsman has a hard road, and is stranger than most would expect, even given his reputation. I liked the twist on most of the characters. Cinderella and Belle kept me happy through the majority of the book, and I was interested in seeing how all of the changes and stories would intertwine. The twists and turns, complications, and character developments kept up from very early in the book to the final pages, leaving readers hanging, but engaged through the entire read. While Snow is not my favorite main character, the story and extended cast have me interested to see the series through.
The Hunt For Snow is a read that keeps readers turning pages and interested. The story is solid and fast paced. I would recommend grabbing the second book to have handy, so that you are not left completely hanging when this book ends, although who is to say that it wont end with a cliff hanger as well.
Words cannot express the comedy, suspense, and fantasy from this book. You have Snow White, the seven dwarfs, Cinderella, Malevolent, Red Riding Hood, Robin Hood, and many others. The author did an excellent job with the descriptions and details of the characters and scenes. This book is an adult fairy tale and will keep you interested right from the start. Beware of the cliffhanger at the end! I'm ready for the next book in this series.

This was a wonderful book on a twist of some childhood classic stories that we have read. Snow, Belle, Cyndi, Robin, Max and of course the evil step mother Naomi.
The story takes you through modern time where Snow has a new life on earth after being run out of Enchanted Forest.by her step mother. We meet some great characters that we can related to the classic story and some that are made much hotter.
Will Snow fight back for her kingdom and who can see trust of her people to help? How is Max and Snow going to fight their desire for love and hate at the same time
The elements of the characters and their traits are well suited in the story like and there are some wonderful surprise that you will enjoy.

What a fantastic twist to the continuing saga of the legendary Snow White! There is mystery, drama, fight scenes, romance, magical events all coated with humor. Much like an apple wrapped in caramel candy. All of the elements of a great story with excellent weaving of characters, dialogue, descriptions and emotional energy. Talented writer, definitely. You won't be disappointed. I guarantee it!
This story reminds me of the recent Disney movie, "Maleficent" starring Angelina Jolie. "The Hunt for Snow" would be just as awesome as a movie. Disney needs to take a look!!
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review and I am soooo happy to have read it. Five Stars!
I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review
The Hunt for Snow is a fun, action-packed fairy tale retelling, featuring some of my favorite characters. The one thing that really ate at me though is the cliffhanger ending. I really connected with the characters and was disappointed to be left hanging.
Snow was a bit more abrasive than I'd like, and she was quite the badass. After being driven out of her kingdom by her stepmother, she settled in our world with her best friends, Belle and Cyndi. Yes, that Belle and that Cinderella. Personally I liked Belle and Cyndi more than Snow who carries quite the chip on her shoulder about her banishment. Snow became a P.I. with an obsession with weapons which she uses with extreme skill.
Max, the huntsman, was tied magically to Snow's stepmother because she possessed something of great value to him. Though he is supposed to kill Snow, he cares for her, making his job very difficult. I liked Max, he's quite the sexy character. The scenes between Max and Snow were filled with sexual tension. I really enjoyed this part of the story.
My favorite part of this novel, by far, was the vast parade of favorite fairy tale characters that appeared throughout the story. I enjoyed the unique personalities and how they added to the story. The overall plot was fine but not exceptional-- the main draw is the characters themselves and their interactions with each other.
Overall I enjoyed The Hunt for Snow-- other than the cliffhanger ending. I'm looking forward to the next book to see how the story progresses.
In this first Fairytale League book Snow is the actual Snow White who fled to Earth after her evil step-mother, Naomi, sent the Huntsman to kill her. She has been gone for ten years. She now has her own business and lives with Belle and Cindi. When Snow is invited to the Fairytale Conference, she doesn’t want to go. She has been in hiding from Naomi. Belle and Cindi talk her into going. Snow wants the chance to see the Huntsman, Max. He makes her heart race and she knows he is under the compulsion Naomi put upon him. Once Snow gets to the conference, the truth comes out. Naomi has planned to win Snow’s kingdom through an old village law. Snow is now in a race to reclaim her kingdom and defeat Naomi in the process. She also wants to free Max from the power Naomi has over him. She is now on a mission. I had no idea what this book might be like, but it sounded interesting. I was pleasantly surprised. I loved Snow from the beginning. She is a strong woman that ended up making the right decision even though it is a tough one. She is now doing what she can to fight Naomi. It has been battle after battle. Snow and Naomi continue to fight. This book sets the stage and initiates what Snow is forced to do. The ending kept me interested to want to read the next book in the series. I like the fairytale characters and I can’t wait to see how Snow and her friends fight Naomi in the next installment. It was a fun read. I give it a 4 out of 5.
Set in the modern world, The Hunt for Snow is a twist on the fairy tale we all know and love. After the Huntsman was sent by her stepmother, Naomi, to kill her, Snow flees to Earth to escape. With nothing but the silk dress on her body (and a bag of jewelry from her father), Snow creates a new life for herself.
I really like how the author turned an old fairy tale into a new one. Snow is now a PI at night, living with her best friends Belle (yes, that Belle) and Cyndi (aka Cinderella). She is not a wall flower or wishy washy character, but a kick ass heroine who knows how to defend herself. I love that about her! She receives a personal invitation to the Magical Convention and her roommates make her go. Once there, she finds out that she has 72 hours to return to the Castle that was once her home or lose her inheritance. Of course, she has to avoid the Queen (Naomi) and the Huntsman who want to kill her.
What I loved about this story – Snow’s attitude, the appearances by other fairy tale characters, the action and suspense in the story, and the writing. What I did not like was the ending cliffhanger!!!
This is an amazing and fun story that is well worth the time to read!

OVERALL IMPRESSION OF THE BOOK If you like fairy tale story with a twist then this is the story for you. Even with the cliffhanger ending. I'm looking forward to the next book to see how the story progresses. ARC was provided for an honest review.
Once I pick up this story I was unable to put down until I finish the entire story, it draws you in This was a wonderful book on a twist of some childhood classic stories that we have read. How is Max and Snow going to fight their desire for love and hate at the same time The elements of the characters and their traits are well suited in the story like and there are some wonderful surprise that you will enjoy.
Wow. This was a GREAT book. S.E. Babin throws drama, action, humor/sarcasm and comes up with this wonderful book blending fairy tales thrown into an updated modern day-type scenario. This really is meant for adults.
The fairy tale Snow White that we all know is very innocent, demure, and a hard-worker. This up-dated Snow White is DRIVEN and will do whatever it takes to achieve her agenda. And her agenda right now is to take back the kingdom from Queen Naomi. I like her best friends, Cyndi (Cinderella) and Belle. Robin Hood, Maleficent, Red (Red Riding Hood), and the Huntsman are also great characters as well.
The primary problem I have is the language: It really needs some cleaning up. If Babin wants us to think of these characters as being potentially "real", then why utter curses about Jesus, Christ, etc? Babin has proven to be capable of being quite creative in these writings. Surely there are alternative ways to express frustration, annoyance, and other emotions without dragging the name of God into this.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher for review. This in no way influenced my opinion or rating of 2.5 Stars.
I was drawn in by the book description, and I was let down. The beginning had a TON of quotes I highlighted (and giggled over), and the banter between Snow, Cyndi, and Belle worked. Almost perfect.
Then the conference happened. And the story went downhill. I'm still not sure why a conference was used for a plot device, or why the characters did some of things they did (I'm trying to avoid spoilers). But the end (even though it was a cliffhanger) shocked me by pulling itself back together and working. Without knowing for sure, I almost feel the author had the start & finish figured out, and wrote the middle in a rush.
I will be looking at reading book 2, mainly to see how they pull off the win. I would not recommend this book to anyone.
When the portal to earth was opened, Snow came through with only a dress and a small bag of jewelry. She.quickly became a PI and a noted cryptozoolist. As time goes on, she has to attend the various balls and conference s. Although her wicked stepmother,Naomi, skirmishes for her blood, Snow knows that her time in hiding will close someday. As she gets ready for the ball, the batsman Max, tells Snow that not only is Naomi is still after her. Max is still under a compulsion to kill her. Since it's a must attend ball, Snow knows that she better be really ready if she wants to live.
I received this from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I actually really enjoyed this story. The author does a pretty awesome job of creating a fairy tale world. However, this isn't your favorite Disney tales. This is a great adult version of some of my favorite fairy tales. I cannot wait until the next installment. The only thing I did not like was that for all of Snow's strength she kind of was not very smart at times. She gave to trouble way to easily. I think the author was trying to toughen up Snow but she kind of came across as a wimp at time.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review from Netgalley. I thought come on another fairytale this is no ordinary tale. I love that it is a modern day story with all the usual suspects but they are modern day. I love that Snow is not a lost little girl she is a ass kicking woman who will fight this time and not let the Queen get the upper hand. Can she trust the Huntsman this time or will it end badly. Great story loved it
