Rafe Garrett is NYC’s most talked-about billionaire—a ruthless negotiator, too handsome for his own good, and a man of … particular tastes.
Investigative reporter Ainsley Dumont has landed the assignment of a lifetime: prove that Rafe is behind the crooked development deal that’s threatening to ruin the careers of some of the country’s top political figures—including the President himself.
But as Ainsley gets closer to Rafe, sparks fly, and she has to balance her assignment—and her ethics—with the urge to forget who she is and be what Rafe wants. And what Rafe wants is so far outside her experience, she’s afraid she might lose herself … but it just might be worth it.
This is the 2nd installment in the series and is another very quick read. I wish I could rate it higher but the heroine is laughable, especially her so called 'code of ethics'. I'm honestly having a hard time getting past how weak, easy, and spineless the author has written the heroine. Even the H is surprised that she's caved so quickly to him!
Well, if the author is trying to write a weak, laughable heroine with ZERO of anything that sets her apart from the next woman, then she's doing a really good job.
This is the second installment in this series and it is another terrific, quick read (I read during my lunch hour). I was disappointed when I got to the end because I am eager to find out how this story is going to play out. There is plenty of heat and steamy scenes between Rafe and Ainsley. The characters are developing on par for this type of series. I like how Ainsley's character is written. She is smart and independent and I like that she is questioning her decisions to submit to Rafe when he demands. I am interested to see how the author deals with the secrets both characters are keeping. Rafe is still a mystery to me and I can't quite figure out what I think will be his story. While he thinks he knows Ainsely's secret it will be interesting to see what happens when he discovers the full extent of what she is hiding. The story is well written and keeps the reader turning pages both with the relationship between the characters and hoping for a glimpse into what will happen when the secrets are revealed. I am looking forward to the future installments in this series.
I was provided an ARC of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review. This did not influence my opinion and the thoughts expressed are my own.
The is the second episode in the The Billionaire's Contract by Tessa Blake. I personally have enjoyed the 1st and 2nd episodes in this series.
In this episode we pick up right where the 1st episode left off. Ainsley decides to go meet Rafe at his office as he ordered her to. She tells herself she doing it because she choose too, but in all honesty it because she enjoys giving up control to Rafe. Through this episode we have another scorching hot scene. Now Ainsley is torn between choosing her career assignment and what she wants emotionally and sexually. I look forward to reading the 3rd episode to see what will happen and what Ainsley will choose.
Whew! Tessa Blake's stories keep getting hotter! Ainsley is torn between being the independent woman and being submissive to the very dominant Rafe! Ainsley wants to do her job, which is to determine if Rafe is a good guy or the bad guy the rumors say he is. But, it's hard to deny him. Meanwhile, Rafe knows Ainsley secret but he still can't stay away! Can these two overcome the obstacles laid in front of them? All I know is I can't wait for book 3 to find out! I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.
This book was all about balance. The give and take between Ainsley and a Rafe at times put a smile on my face and other times they make me blush. One thing I am sure of is that I definitely need to keep reading more of this series.
