I really am a big fan of this book cover. It's way too beautiful (disregard the fact that in the book, the skirt should just be two to three inches above the knee). However, the story was not to my liking even though I'm a sucker for fantasy books.
1. I could not keep up with the characters because they were not introduced deeply even though they are involved all throughout the book. Additionally, they have two names which include the Japanese ones. 2. The pace of the story is too quick. 3. I appreciate the research done by the author (during Riye's parts) but it was a little bit confusing. 4. It's hard to empathize with the main character.
I found a lot of mistakes in this book that I wanted to note but chose not to because it would take so much effort.
MY COMFORT BOOK. this is the book that introduced me to fantasy genre and solidified my love for reading back when i was in g7 skdjfjfkfj i was literally SO obsessed w it. I don't rlly read wattpad anymore but thus book,,, i love it even now
It is a 3.25-star read for me. This is probably one of the books that I can consider as decent. As much as I wanted to enjoy this book until the end, the excitement that I felt when I read the first few chapters faded as I went through the book. The description isn't vivid enough to portray what is really happening. It lacks intensity and clarity. Also, some characters remained flat until the end which contributed to the dullness of the story. But the author did a good job for finishing the story.
I honestly didn't enjoy this book but I also didn't hate it.
Re-read the book and I really missed them so much. I finished Tantei High and Seventh Sense when I was in High School and it made me reminisce about all the feelings I had back then when reading it. Tantei High will always have a space in my heart. Above all, I really missed Demi so much. The story is great but for me, the storytelling has a lot of lapses that I think the author and editor could have changed somehow. The story is fast-paced and I think some of the parts in the book need an elaborate way of storytelling, especially the action part. Above all, it is a great fantasy story.
I was still in junior high school the first time I've read Tantei High, and it's one of the first sci-fi fantasy that I enjoyed. It presets the entirety of the Erityian Tribes, although rereading it as an adult is a bit different now. Since I've been following the entirety of the series, objectively it's hard to ignore how it was a little bláse than the rest of the Erityian Series.
The four stars is because I knew I really enjoyed reading this as a teen.
This is my comfort book. I read this during my adolescent stage. For me, this book is worth some since I enjoyed reading sci-fi. Aside from that, I also followed and read all of the erityian tribes books (except for some novellas that I hadn't finished). Overall, the story is good and I even bought the published books of Tantei High and Seventh sense.
This is my first time reading a non vampire / werewolf book and OMG IT WAS SO GOOOD. Also, I have always read romance novels / stories but this was the first book that never focused on a love story hehe. 5/5, MUST READ!
The plot was great and has a potential but there were so many things that are poorly executed. Like the things that should be thrilling but didn’t give enough thrill. And the things that are supposed to be sad and heartwarming. And some are also fast paced.
I love this story so much. It not only introduced me to the Science Fiction genre but it got me interested into murders, mysteries, and basically anything crime-related stuff.
Since mahilig ako sa fantasy stories, isa ito sa mga binasa ko nang isang upuan lang. Okay lang naman, na-enjoy ko ang pagbabasa kahit predictable at naging boring na ang story.
The writing . . . could be better. The concept was there and I like it, however, the writing was hard to get through because it was so fast paced that there was no time to process the scenes or whatev.
The writing got a bit better by the end, but like, the whole things feels like a draft copy. There were several typos as well.
I don’t get the importance of Darwin because he feels so random? He was a classmate who appeared in the first chapter then didn’t appear again until he was a Shinigami. His importance was set on the beginning but it was not enough, because he was forgettable.
Akemi the 1st and Hideo plot is so predictable.

i have read this story COUNTLESS times before and read it again this time to refresh my memory before reading seventh sense 🥹 TO MY SURPRISE, i was shocked by how badly it was written 😭 idk if its because they had to shorten it down so some parts were not making sense 🥲 i mean the idea is there, but it was so messy and i find myself dozing off a lot of times 🙂↔️ i just hope it gets better in the next one
