Rubaisha is a fantasy teen story, of unexpressed love. When light read, it brings out love in a different form. The interesting fact is, the story revolves around love and passion, but, it is not a love story. It is a story of passion, ambition and survival. The target audience is the light fiction readers, who would aim to complete a book in one afternoon. The story unfolds in two time period. A story is based on present time and the other is based on ancient Egypt. The story begins with two friends Angela and Andrew planning to go on vacation to Egypt. Angela's father is a historian who is trying to prove that women in ancient Egypt (long before the time of Cleopatra) rose to the highest power. He wanted to discover the historic remains of 'Queen Rubaisha' who was ever present in folklores, but not a shred of historic proof was found. Rubaisha seemed to be erased deliberately from history. When Angela and Andrew reached Egypt, they were welcomed with a murder. As they tried to inquire the truth behind the murder, unexplained things started happening. Rubaisha's passion kept her alive even after her death. Time and destiny of these three individuals get interlinked. As the story unfolds, we see murder, curses and tales of untold love. The story travels to past, where we witness life in ancient Egypt. We see the political power play. We see cover up and double crossing as power shifts from one person to another.
Naseha was born in a town encapsulated by two rivers, inhabited by people who celebrate on the face of natural calamities. It is a one-millennium old city, Cuttack which breathes of tales if only one can listen. Silent starry nights, noisy cracking dawn, lazy afternoon loaded with champak odor, giggling evening and early retreat of the day, all planted seeds of stories in her. After Master's Degree, she moved to the hustling metropolis of Gurgaon where she crunched numbers and provides realistic strategies to corporates for a living. Once out of office, she quickly became the dreamer that she is and starts writing while watching the foggy, slumber like morning of the metropolis that she fell in love the moment she stepped in Gurgaon. After 14 years, life gave her an opportunity to move to a new city. She parted with Gurgaon as friends and has moved to the city of Pearls, Hyderabad to make the city her own and her, a part of the city.

I have read this story and it is simply awesome, because the author has an unique style that is simple to understand, gripping to read through and delightful to end. The versatility of the novel lies in the fact that it can be enjoyed by any age group. The characters are introduced and taken through the story with convincing capability of the author and each one of the characters have strong contributions to the story that makes it all the more interesting.
Would recommend this novel for all who are avid readers and more to the ones who are not, and planning to start reading. It would be a genuine, simple and memorable start.Naseha Sameen

Thanks Goodreads.com and naseha Sameen for giving me the opportunity to read this wonderful book
This novella is like an iceberg. There is a lot underneath the waters, which shows the depth of the characters.
The characters are not typical black or white as we find in fantasy fiction. The characters are so real, this complexity was nicely balanced with the easy and free flow narrative. I enjoyed reading Rubaisha. Rubaisha is such kind of book that be easily transformed in TV series or movie. I would love to see it on screen, size does not matter. It has all the elements of a nice TV series or a movie.
Quite interesting. But as I got a flip book from the autoress herself it is impossible for me to rate it like this.
There will be updating of this review when I complete the series. But the small chapter I have read it was really good. Thanks to the authoress for giving me a chance to read her book.
