Maxine lives in the small outport of Newman's Cove in Newfoundland, with her husband William and their Yorkie Moon.

This is the story of young Laura Secord who loved her cow, Peg. One day Peg was missing and Laura set out in search of it. Eventually she found Peg, but the cow had died. Then Laura discovered a small calf and tried to lead it home. Unfortunately, she was lost, then her father withe the help of a group of Mohican men found her.
