For the first time together in one collection, get the sexy and hilariously funny Sweet Addiction series by New York Times bestselling author, J. Daniels.
Satisfy all your cravings…
SWEET ADDICTION : Wedding hookups never amount to anything. Those who partake in this wicked little activity know the rules. Get in. Get laid. Get out. There's no expectation of a relationship. It is what it is. Dylan Sparks knows the rules. She’s familiar with the protocol. And she engages in the best sex of her life with a complete stranger at her ex-boyfriend’s wedding. Reese Carroll doesn’t care about the rules. He wants more than just one night with Dylan. And Dylan finds him too addicting to pass up. Sweet Addiction is the story of one woman’s struggle to keep things casual, and one man’s desire to never let her go.
SWEET POSSESSION : A sassy, in-your-face baker. A panty-stealing, dirty-talking accountant. And a bathroom quickie that changed their lives forever. Wedding hookups never amount to anything. Unless that hookup knocks you on your ass. For Dylan Sparks and Reese Carroll, the big day can’t arrive soon enough. Dylan, stressed to the max from overbearing mothers and last minute preparations, struggles to keep her sanity. As for Reese, he’s fighting to not only keep his bride-to-be safe from creepy investors, but also to make it to the actual wedding day without losing his mind in the process. Throw in a crazy group of friends, and a bachelor/bachelorette party weekend getaway, and you have a recipe for the sweetest wedding of the year. Reese Carroll and Dylan Sparks cordially invite you to read Sweet Possession.
SWEET OBSESSION : Everyone knows Brooke Wicks loves to have a good time. She’s not interested in getting serious, settling down, or limiting herself to one man. So when she meets the sexy, irresistible Mason King, she sees another opportunity to let loose and go wild. But the gorgeous Aussie isn’t interested in just a quick fling with Brooke, and if she wants to get into his bed, she’s going to have to do it on his terms. Loving fast and hard has always been Mason’s philosophy. He doesn’t want a meaningless connection, he wants it all, and he wants it with Brooke. When she makes her one desire known—to hit it and quit it—Mason wages a plan to ensure Brooke keeps coming back for more. Or so he hopes. Getting her attention was the easy part. Keeping it might be damn near impossible. Sweet Obsession is where the Sweet Addiction series meets the Alabama Summer series.
**Warning: This book is recommended for readers over the age of 18 due to strong language and explicit sexual content.
J. Daniels is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Alabama Summer, Dirty Deeds and Sweet Addiction series, as well as her MM romance: The Tragedy of Felix and Jake.
Best known for her sexy, small-town romances, her debut novel, Sweet Addiction, was first published in 2014 and went on to become an international bestseller. Since then, she has published more than fifteen novels, including the Dirty Deeds series with Forever Romance.
Daniels grew up in Baltimore and currently lives in Maryland with her husband and three kids. A former full-time Radiologic Technologist, she began writing romance after college and quickly discovered a passion for it. You'll still catch her in scrubs every now and then, but most of her time is spent writing these days—a career she is eternally grateful for.
Always an avid reader, Daniels enjoys books of all kinds, but favors Romance (of course) and Fantasy. She loves hiking, traveling, going to the mountains for the weekend, and spending time with her family.
Amazon wanted me to read Sweet Addiction. I mean really, really wanted me to read it. And I was all, “But I’ve got all these books in my TBR, plus all these other books that I have to read for review,” Then Amazon, was like – “poor you – read this book – it’s got a pretty cover. And it has cupcakes, you like cupcakes.” Of course I was, “Not liking cupcakes is Un-American. Oh and pretty sugared lips – okay.” Then Amazon said, “You know…..You can’t have one without the other, so you while you are there, you should probably go ahead and get Sweet Possession.”
So I one-clicked and then clicked again. The rest is as they say, is history. Because these books gobsmacked me. They are funny, sweet and sexy. God, are they sexy. That they enchanted me might be an understatement. I fell hard for Dylan Sparks and Reese Carroll. Very hard.
So you have a hot wedding hook-up and all the hilarity that ensues. The circumstances around the wedding itself made this completely poetic. From the moment they laid eyes on each other, the reader is in as deep as these characters — Which I just loved. Dylan is feisty as all get out and though I loved her spirit, she probably got lucky not to be cuffed more often (and not in the really good way you are thinking about right now). But her heart is usually in the right place, though she expends a lot of energy trying to protect it from Reese.
And Reese? I wanted more of him. I wanted his POV. Though I think we get a really good glimpse into his mind – I am kind of greedy and wanted more of his words and thoughts. Because seriously — not even joking that his mouth should be bronzed. I am not sure what I like most about Reese – is it that he went from zero to alpha in the blink of an eye? Or that you knew from the outset that he was going to use whatever means necessary to win Dylan? He was magic. I honestly believe that Reese could easily stand shoulder to shoulder with any of the big boys on your book boyfriend list.
I am trying really hard not to give anything away here. I’ve told you that I loved the books and the characters. Did I mention that I read both books within 24 hours? How about that these books had so many amazing moments that I might have almost cried a couple of times? And I don’t often cry at books.
I’ve been talking about this series, but I really want to say this — The last 93 pages of Sweet Possession were the biggest, prettiest red bow on the gift of these two books. I really do love a wedding story and J. Daniels wrote a glorious one for Dylan and Reese. Really, I am not going to give anything away – I swear. But so good. So, so, so damn good.
J. Daniels, I believe you have found your way to my phone book list. You are in good company.
So here’s the thing – I knew before I even read the first word, that I was going to love Sweet Obsession. This book is the meet up of characters from J. Daniels’ two series – Alabama Summer and Sweet Addiction so how could I not?
Sweet Obsession exceeded every single one of my expectations – I fell utterly and completely in love with Brooke and Mason, both as individuals and as a couple. J. Daniels created magic with these two – their chemistry never once felt forced and they were equal parts swoony and sexy. This book is alt-POV and being in their hearts as they fall is the cherry on top.
So if I am being, completely honest – when she was first introduced in Sweet Addiction, I didn’t so much like Brooke. I don’t see it as a bad thing, because I don’t think that I was meant to like her really. At first blush, she was mouthy and this side of obnoxious. But here in Sweet Obsession, J. Daniels has done an amazing job of showing us Brooke as she is coming into her own. Hidden behind her bravado is a woman that is simply trying to find her way in the world. Being in her head and getting her thoughts is a trip, in and of itself – Brooke is more than anyone gives her credit for – even herself. Walking in her shoes as she silences her own worst critic (herself), is perhaps my favorite part of this story.
Mason is perfect. Australian with many hidden talents, who has moved to the US to open his own yoga studio and maybe, just maybe find someone to share his life. I was ready to sign up for the job, but I’m already married and well, he’s a fictional character – so there’s that. But you cannot help but fall in love with this guy. It’s more than the accent or the Hemsworthian body. No, Mason is a good man, whose heart beats for Brooke in ways that neither is truly prepared for. The many wonderful things (big and small) he did along the way to make her his, was purely a master class in romance.
I hated for this story to end. I love these characters so much – these books are not only about the romance between the couples, but also the great and abiding love amongst this group of friends. How these they take care of each other in ways that make you laugh and cry. It is part of the reason why I have gone back to read the books in both series quite a few times and will do the same with Sweet Obsession.
Go. Go get this book and savor it like the wonderful confection that it is. Yes, it is a standalone, but do yourself a big favor and get the other books in both series – you will fall in love with not only each of the stories, but their author.
Love this box set!!! All these fantastic books in 1!!!
This is absolutely one of my all time favorite series! From Dylan and Reese's sexy and beautiful love story to Brooke and Mason's hot and steamy one, you will not want to put it down till you are done!!
SWEET ADDICTION: Jesus, Reese is just so damn hot, "that's so hot, love. Suck it hard." Dylan I loved her and her spunk, "s***. Sorry, I have a bakery to run. Later, handsome." I pull away from him and turn to see him shaking his head. "Oh, by the way, I'd like my panties back." Reese he's not only sexy but that boy is alpha, "why the hell are you covered in bruises?" He moves back in front of me and eases in between my legs again, commanding my attention." And he's the jealous sort as well, "and who the eff is Sam? Did he bring another guy with him?" He slams his hand down on the worktop next to my thigh and I jump." They're both effing dead." I can't wait for the second book. SWEET POSSESSION: To me this was better than the first I loved how these two would dirty text each other, "you are such a tease. Do you have any idea how hard my d*** is for you right now? I could probably eff you through a wall." These two are still horny dogs when it comes to each other, "you know, it's literally impossible to not want to eff you every time I see you naked. Or clothed for that matter." He cocks an eyebrow at me, and I run my tongue along my bottom lip. "You have me perpetually wound-up here." Reese he's still our protective boy, "and I told you before, if he makes you uncomfortable in any way, I'll break his effing neck. That just doesn't include him coming into your shop. If he so much as looks at you in a way you don't like..." I would love to see a little novella or something where Reese is the main character speaking I think it'd be awesome. SWEET OBSESSION: Brooke isn't one for her subtlety, “talk? Yeah, okay. Were you not just jerking off thinking about me?” You really can't help but love Brooke and her antics, “I’m twenty-five. Legal. Very much a fan of dark spaces and heads between my legs. Yours, specifically. I’m sure it looks lovely down there.” There are times Mason just needs a moment to collect himself, “***t.” He spins around just before we reach the fence and the herd of people. He winks at me as he discreetly adjusts himself. “Thanks, gorgeous. That could’ve been embarrassing, yeah?” I really loved this book, and Mason's sexy accent
The Sweet Addiction books were my first reads of J. Daniels and I really enjoyed all of them. Sweet Possession happened to be my favorite of them all. J does a great job balancing the humor, sweetness, and seriousness in all the storylines. They are all well written books with great characters that you can connect to and empathize with. The guys in particular are some of the most swoon worthy guys that I have read, so thanks for all of that wonderfulness J 😊 I'm hoping this doesn't have to be the end of the Sweet gang, I don't think I've had my fix yet 🍰
Oh my gosh!!!!!if you are here , a major fan of romance and have not yet read this book, are you CRAZY!!!!!!from the wedding hookup.to joey to.The last scene of Brooke and mason, everything was perfect! PERFECTION!
My favorite was sweet possession, that book got me smiling all day(although sweet addiction and sweet obsession was not that bad😚😚)
I loved this series! I've reviewed each of them separately on the book's separate pages. So for my full review for each story go to the book you're looking for.
DNF. Lost interest after the first book. Not interested in the next story or the one after featuring such an immature character that we met in the first. No thanks.
Love Reese and Dylan's story and the link from the 'Bama boys world with Mason in the third book. The peripheral characters, storyline and jokes also elevate the story from mere raunch. Looking forward to more of her work.
This is my first book by this author and the writing is excellent. I was able to get the whole Sweet addiction trilogy on Amazon for $4.99.
Sweet Addiction – The book is written from Dylan’s pov, she owns her own bakery and attends the wedding of her ex since she baked the wedding cake. She meets Reese when she falls and lands in his lap. Being so attracted to each other they hook up in the men’s room at the wedding although that doesn’t end well when he abruptly leaves her there. She later finds out he is married and goes to confront him at his office about it. He tells her he isn’t, Juls misunderstood when she told her that. She isn’t really the casual hook up kind of girl however from what she is hearing Reese doesn’t do relationships and hasn’t had a girlfriend since college, he is 31 and she is 26. She is so attracted to him and the endearing ways he sends her gifts and notes to her shop she wants to give it a try. She suggests and they agree to be monogamously casual, she doesn’t want to blow any chance to see him again. You can tell he will take her anyway he can get her. This book is so cute and the secondary characters, especially Joey make it hilarious. The writing is great and its pretty fast paced. It takes place within a few weeks until it skips ahead to Juls wedding where they meet up again after splitting up over a misunderstanding. He never knew why she leaves him and she won’t talk to him about it. Reese is an awesome book boyfriend and this is a book I would read more than once! 5 Stars!
Sweet Possession - This book isn’t quite as good as the first book. Not a lot going on and it takes place in a week’s time. It is set about 6 months after the first book and it’s the week leading up to the wedding. They are making wedding decisions and Bryce from book one causes problems but nothing traumatic. Dylan hires Brooke at the bakery as extra help and Juls is pregnant. The epilogue leaves you with the birth of their daughter that loose to be within about a year of their wedding. Doubtful I would read this one again if I reread the first one. 3.5 Stars
Sweet Obsession – This is Brooke’s story. Brooke was not a character I really liked in the first 2 books. She is a total Sl#t in this book, portraying the man whore. Mason is a Yoga instructor, which didn’t do anything for me at all. I just could not get into this book and DNF. Not into the role reversals of the characters. Not to take anything away from the author, she is a great writer, this book was just not for me.
I absolutely loved all 3 books, though the first two were my favorites. Sweet Addiction and Sweet Possession are about Dylan and Reese. They meet at a wedding and it's only supposed to be a one time thing..I think you can see where this is going. This series was fabulous. Dylan and Reese are one of the most adorable couples and I think I swooned every time Reese called Dylan love. 5 stars.
I never thought I could love anyone more then Reese and my Bama boys. But OMG mason is amazing. He was so unreal I found myself being Jealous of her. Lol I hope this isn't the end and we get more of the sweet addiction series. Btw can forget about Joey he needs his own book. Please Well thank you can't wait to read my next bama book.
Love the box set!!! You get to read it all at once ;)
Love love this whole series! From Dylan and Reese's love story to the hot and steamy one between Brooke and Mason ! You will not want to put this one down until your done!
