He hasn’t forgotten her, and she sure hasn’t forgiven him.
Jessica Macks is a she-wolf on the run from a band of murderous rogues. When she finds a job at a shifter bar, it seems like a safe haven from her hunted life on the road. But the minute she walks through the swinging doors of the Blue Moon Saloon and comes face-to-face with the man she once loved, she’s tempted to march right back out. No way, no how is she risking her heart to that infuriating alpha bear again.
Simon Voss thought he lost everything in an ambush months before: his home, his family, his past. His new job at the Blue Moon Saloon is a desperately needed fresh start on life. Then along comes Jessica, the irresistible she-wolf his clan forced him to reject years before. When Simon is obliged to hire Jessica and work side by side with the one woman to ever make his bear go wild, he’s half in heaven, half in hell. He hasn’t forgotten her, and she sure as hell hasn’t forgiven him. Is this just another path to heartbreak or his last chance to claim his destined mate?
* A paranormal romance with adult content. The perfect read for fans of strong heroines, alpha heroes, werewolves and shapeshifters, red-hot cowboys, romantic westerns, paranormal suspense, action-adventure romance, and fantasy romance! *
USA Today and Amazon best-selling author Anna Lowe loves putting the "hero" back into heroine and letting location ignite a passionate romance. She likes a heroine who is independent, intelligent, and imperfect — a woman who's doing just fine on her own. But give the heroine a good man (not to mention a chance to overcome her own inhibitions) and she'll never turn down the chance for adventure, nor shy away from danger.
On any given weekend, you might find her hiking in the mountains or hunched over her laptop, working on her latest story. Either way, the day will end with a chunk of dark chocolate and a good read.
Damnation by Anna Lowe Genres: Adult, Paranormal, Romance, Suspense 3.75 Stars
I have read the bonus edition and I had no idea how different it was from this one. The fight scene towards the end of the story is in the bonus edition. It is missing in this edition. It is all set up to happen then skips it entirely jumping to the next chapter. Even though it is well written and the flow is smooth and fast paced, I had to deduct big time for that. That fight scene is referred to in the next chapter and it was a big part that REALLY needed to be included in this edition.
What happens when old hurts still linger and old threats come calling?
Damnation is book one in the Blue Moon Saloon series by Anna Lowe. What a wonderful new series that brings us strong heroines, alpha heroes, shifters of all kinds, hot cowboys, action, and much more.
The Blue Moon Saloon series takes place in the same world as The Twin Moon Ranch series. What is important to note is that both series can be read separately even though they are in the same world coexisting side-by-side. The author does a fabulous job bring her world to life and working in the characters from the other series, but what's impressive is that she made them feel brand new or if you are a fan, ones you have come to love.
I devoured this book in one sitting. I had a great time with this second chance romance. I will never be board or get enough of Ms. Lowe's characters and world. She is an outstanding writing that can bring her characters to life, pulling the reader in deeply, making you feel for them.
Jessica and Simon have a past that caused them both to be hurt in more ways then one. These two had a few things to work out and also an old enemy that doesn't want to see them together come around. These two go through so many emotions; before they finally clear the air and work everything out. When they finally hook-up again, well the sexy times are sensual, steamy, and romantic. As for our enemy it was rather quick, but you know they will be back.
Their is a prequel, Perfection, for Simon and Jessica. It's their beginning, before everything went wrong. No, I have not read it. Should you read it before you read Damnation? Well some reviewers say yes, I on the other hand can't say until I read it, but I felt the story stood on it's own.
Damnation was a sweet second chance romance that will take you on a whirlwind of emotions, action, suspense, and love that never faded. I highly recommend this new series as well as her Twin Moon Ranch. I can't wait for the next installment in this series.
*Disclaimer:I received a complimentary ARC copy provided by Anna Lowe with the sole purpose of an honest review. All thoughts, comments and ratings are my own.
The H is grieving, the loss of his family, pack and mate, killed by from rogues years before. Then one day, his mate suddenly appears and he can't act from survivor's guilt. She can't talk to him either, she's doesn't understand their distance and has lost her confidence. It was just OK, they were so damaged and weak characters. The rogues turn up again, that's the catalyst that helps them reconnect. Just OK, weak characters.
H is a coward. What kinda man doesn't fight for his woman ? Especially a "fated mate"?
I tried ,I tried soo hard to like this book, the description spooned good and intense and but the prequel was just ok,felt like it barely got started good before it was over... I know prequels CAN be short but no rule says they have to be.... I didn't mind skipping all the drama of he had hurt her and the destruction of their ppl's but damn! Damn! If Simon wasn't a colossal D bag and a coward,in my book... I just gotta get this off my chest soo I can move on... I need a very things in all my H's if I'm going to like them or love them or even finish the book w/them,they need treat my h ( even she's a ditz) w/a modicum of respect,No cheating! For me the moment they meet neither can have sex w/another ( too much ? Yeah, well it's my escape and my H doesn't keep acting like a Manwhore one he's met his woman) ,He loves her, respects her, only craves/desires her and He sure as Hell FIGHTS for her,ok he might get in own way a little bit at times, but he'll fight Hell or high water to be w/his woman and won't let anyone get in their way, even she won't stand in the way... But Simon ?!?!? Did Simon and vet fight for Jess ?'?!? Aaaaaaaa that's a huge No!!! According to the backstory he thought ( if you can call it that) he thought his one and ONLY " fated mate" would be better off w/her archaic pack in stead of her one true love and only fated mate... WTF?!,!? He never ever tried!!! Not really,he couldn't sway them w/ words soo decided to make her hate him, because his deluded mind thought it best?!!!? WTF ?!?! I don't care if he was to be a be King of F'ing England,he should fought for his lov and tried to find away to be w/her, he never tried to run off w/ her or be honest w/her or anything... Then, then years later thinking his mate is been killed, when she's front and center does he fall to his knees and kiss the ground where she stands and beg forgiveness, tell her he loves her and begs to never leave him ?!?!? Aaaaaaaaa No the big D ,lets her hate him and tells himself he's not good enough and he needs to let her move on... Move on from her " ONE AND ONLY FATED MATE"??? Right .... Sure he's right he DOESN'T deserve her, but He SHOULD still try and fight for her,she deserves it even if he DOESN'T !!!! What a wimp!!! Who can you like or respect a male like that ?? Not calling him a hero, coz he ain't ... Wanted to like this but Jess soooo deserve better! Wanted to give fewer stars but wants to be nice as well, my rating 1.5 - 2 stars ... Simon killed the story for me,foe me he doesn't deserve a mate ,no when he gives up soo easily ;(
Wow! Ok so I read the prequel, and I was thinking so many happy thoughts. But no. This book starts out with broken hearts. But I loved seeing our friends from our desert pack!! So Jess and her sister have been on the run since their family was slaughtered horribly in front of them. And somehow they found a way to live in the desert with some -hopefully- new shifter friends. So when they are offered a job at a bar and a place to say, they can't say no. Until Jess walks in the bar and sees Simon. Her mate who betrayed her and broke her heart. And boy is there some animosity and some sexual frustration and some serious paranoia going on. But there's secrets and chaos still floating around.
First I loved Jess and her sister. They are just trying to make something of themselves. Starting from scratch and just looking to be safe. I loved her sisters completely positive attitude and Jess's work hard can do attitude. Even with all the bad, they are finding any way to make it good.
Now Simon and his brother own the bar that Jess works at. He's completely lost when Jess walks in. He still loves her with every breath but he broke her, for good reason, but he still did. But she doesn't know that, and he won't freaking tell her why, so he's all moody and grumpy. Lol I absolutely LOVED that Jess put him in his place every time he looked cross at her. Even when it broke her heart more. But when things finally become serious and the danger is real and at the front door, Simon finally opens his mouth! YAY!!!!!!!!!
I love this author and her writing style! I absolutely adore her other wolf pack series so seeing her switch it up with a mix of wolf and bear shifters, well it's pretty darn great. And we'll have a little human mix thrown in for book two :) the whole story is well put together, I couldn't put it down. And I so cheered for Simon and Jess to work things out. But it's not over- it's just the beginning and I'm thrilled to see what we'll have in the future!!! Gimme more!!! 5 WOLF AND BEAR PAWS!!!
ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS !!! Title: Damnation Series: Blue Moon Saloon Author: Anna Lowe Designation: Book One of Series, Standalone Paranormal Romance, No Cliffhanger, HEA Reading Platform: Kindle & Audiobook Editions My Rating: FIVE DIVINELY ENTERTAINING STARS***** I adore paranormal romance, and no one does it better than Anna Lowe! I've been a fan of Lowe's work for several years and enjoy everything she writes, but Damnation and the Blue Moon Saloon Series have become my new favorites! But I'm not the only one who loves it. Damnation was voted Best Shifter Book for 2016 by Reality Bites Magazine. Wow! And yes, it's that good! I became officially hooked two years ago after reading Desert Moon, the first release in Lowe's The Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch Series and have followed her work since. I've been a lover of the written word for over 60 years and during that time, I've read an incalculable number of books, written by a diverse collection of talented authors. So when I say Anna Lowe is one of my favorites, that's quite a recommendation. It's a little hard to explain but I'll try. Lowe is what I like to call a triple threat. lol... I know, it sounds a little ominous but it's really not. You see, some authors are stronger in certain aspects of the process than others. They may have a great idea for a book or series but have difficulties developing the story and translating their thoughts to written words, while some may be good with words and story development but lack creativity and ideas. Lowe can create it, develop it, and write it, but Lowe's talent doesn't stop there. She's not only a truly gifted storyteller and skilled wordsmith, she's also one of the most reliable authors in the romance genre today, consistently penning unique and highly imaginative storylines, set in vividly depicted worlds, populated with fascinating characters who will surely capture your imagination as well as your heart. Lowe's books are all well crafted and well edited with beautiful covers. And Damnation is no exception! In addition to having my nose stuck in a book for a few hours every day, I frequently listen to audiobooks and Damnation was available so, naturally, I snagged the Audible version as well. There's nothing like listening to the characters of a story come to life through the voice of a talented narrator and I truly enjoy the artist Lowe uses for her books. Kelsey Osborne does a fabulous job and has quickly become one of my favorites. Osborne's reading and commentary skills are exceptional, enhanced by her pleasing pitch, soothing dulcet tone, delightful and sometimes amusing voice inflections, rhythmic effortless cadence, and always correct pronunciations. But as usual I digress, especially when I talk about my favorite authors, so let's discuss a few details about the story itself.
Damnation is an emotionally gripping, fast-paced, well-crafted second chance paranormal romance filled to the brim with pulse-pounding danger, agonizing drama, malevolent enemies, heart-wrenching angst, fiery passion, steamy sex, dreamy romance and laugh-out-loud humor. The narrative is beautifully written in the third person with his and her perspectives. The dialogue is smart, snappy, well executed and flows effortlessly. But hands down, my favorite component of every Lowe story is her cast of relatable characters. I found them to be intriguing, engaging, well developed, and at times, hilarious. I was immediately smitten with the two protagonists, beautiful, plucky she-wolf Jessica 'Jess' Macks and handsome, burly bear-shifter Simon Voss. These two could not have been more different but complemented each other perfectly, and together were an absolute riot. My emotions ran the full gambit while reading this story. I sniffed, snorted, giggled, sobbed and raged through the entire book. And there were quite a few times, I wanted to give Simon and Jess a swift kick in the butt but by the end, I was happy, satisfied and well entertained. Did I like this book? No, I LOVED it! Would I recommend it? You bet and I am but for adult readers only since it does contain some steamy, dreamy love scenes, however, I highly recommend the muffins for all ages! They're so yummy! Will I read this author again? Absolutely! I've already purchased Temptation, the second book of the series, and can hardly wait to dive in! And finally, was I entertained? Completely! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!
Two unlikely lovers thrown together by chance, divided by obligation, haunted by loss, reunited by fate.... but will destiny grant them the second chance they each so desperately desire? We'll see! No spoilers from me but I will say this... A beautiful, strong but heartbroken she-wolf and her sister on the run for their lives after losing their entire family in an attack by rogue wolves, now urgently seeking a place to belong and call home-check! A handsome, determined bear shifter and his brother, both tortured by past failures and mistakes, desperately seeking a second chance-check! Heinous enemies with evil machinations-check! Danger, drama, heartache, loss, and angst-check! Fiery passion, steamy sex, sweet romance, a sprinkling of humor, and a heartwarming second chance at love- you bet! That and a whole lot more, including a very important lesson.... Bad guys don't always wear black, especially when he's a purist vigilante named Whyte!
This was a nice, quick read. I had one problem and that was the whole fated mates thing. Usually in stories about shifters, there is lore about the importance and recognition of fated mates and it seemed as if this wasn't the case in this book. The elders of the respective clans decided that it was in the best interest of the clans to unite but I wonder why neither Simon nor Jess mentioned that they recognised each other as destined mates. That would lead me to believe that there isn't much emphasis placed on these kinds of pairings, so from that perspective, it was sad that they couldn't have just told the truth. Maybe everything would've have turned out different, who knows? But then again, Simon said (lol) that if one mate dies, the other loses the will to live and dies too. So, again I wonder why they couldn't have just told their clans the truth.
Simon and Jess are reunited at the Blue Moon Saloon and it's anything but happy. Bear shifters Soren and Simon and wolf shifters Jess and Janna have been taken in by the Twin Moon Pack of wolves and alpha, Ty Hawthorne, after their packs are decimated by rogues. Simon and Jess lust after each other for about two weeks until finally they realize they cannot continue to ignore their mate bond. There is little action, near to no shifting and no real urgency. The sparks that started in Perfection don't carry over to Damnation. Too bad because it seemed promising. Pretty tame, uneventful tale. On my Were Scale of Hotness, 2.5 stars.
This had some potential but got bogged down too much in the past. The characters were likable and the plot was interesting. Most of the book was focused on the personal past between them. Not a lot of air time was given to the murders of their families and there wasn't much room left for the present day plot given that this was a short. Also some cringey language in the sex scenes which I mostly skimmed.
DNF. Started out decent, but the angst I signed up for quickly lost steam and I quickly lost my interest. The writing quality was a lot better than I thought it would be, so I'll leave this unrated as a peace offering. Unfulfilled angst is one of the worst crimes an author can commit.
Life hasn’t been exactly kind to Jessica or her sister, Janna, recently. Both wolf shifters are on the run from a rogue group of fanatics calling for shifter racial purity – and wiping out those packs, clans, people who do not, in their mad opinion, adhere to purity. The sisters’ entire wolf pack has been killed and burned out by these madmen. By sheer luck they survived, only to look over their shoulders constantly on the run looking for a safe haven to settle and rebuild their lives.
Jessica was reeling from more than the death of her parents and pack – Simon, the bear shifter she’d loved, trusted and knew was her destined mate had betrayed her in the worst possible way by rejecting what she knew in her heart they shared. Why she had no idea. But the pain of his abandoning her and the deaths of everyone she knew from her former life has forged a tough surface on the once trusting young woman.
When she and Janna finally find sanctuary in the form of waitress jobs at the Blue Moon Saloon in a small town, Jessica finally had a moment to believe in a future – until she saw Simon across the room and her world tilted and turned red with anger.
Simon loved Jess with every fiber of his being,, even to this day. When they had foolishly believed they could convince their pack and clan to allow a merger between them in the form of a destined mating, the lovers had overlooked one vital detail. The Elders of each had their own ideas about this merger – and the second son was not good enough for Jessica’s father. Oh, he agreed to the mating, but to Soren, Simon’s brother and the eldest. No one told Jess though, and as he did his best to stop her love in the face of what was to come for them she still believed he’d betrayed her. Then their worlds exploded as each other’s pack and clan were destroyed by the purists who would kill before they would see two different shifter races mate.
So here she was again. Alive, angry and still not knowing everything except his betrayal. It would be best if the sisters simply moved along, but stubborn pride was something Jessica excelled at. It was going to be a long, rough road to gain her forgiveness… and maybe her love once again.
Until the crazed rogues track them down – and life will never be normal again if the purists have their way.
Simon and Jessica’s story is riveting, heartbreaking, sizzling sexy and an excellent world building to this new series. Their world lives easily right along side of the Twin Moon Ranch series. And though the story lines do not cross often, we do see characters from the Twin Moon Ranch show up. Do you have to have read the other series to enjoy this one – no, not really. But honestly the Twin Moon Ranch series is so good I don’t know why you wouldn’t want to at least try a story or two. *grin*
If you love Shifter Romance then Damnation should be on your reading radar. It’s a good, solid story with lively characters and is a great beginning to the Blue Moon Saloon series.
Jessica and her sister are trying to find somewhere safe they can settle down, they come across a small town that looks perfect, it's a mixture of humans and shifters, the shifters are under Ty's control his the Alpha and his fair but I have a feeling his fierce too!
Jessica is a wolf shifter and she is hurting, the man she loved deserted her and then her clan was killed by the blue bloods who have it in their heads that shifters have to stick with shifters of their own kind.
Simon and Soren are bear shifters, big and burly they are running the local saloon, but need some help, the place needs a woman's touch.
When Tina, Ty's sister introduces the sisters to the brothers Jessica is shocked to see the man that deserted her running the bar.
What entails is a mixture of ignoring each other, pining, the odd touch, keeping it professional, I wondered if either would ever give in and talk things through, luckily Soren makes them eventually.
I found the characthers enjoyable to read about, the author lets us get to know them before they get down to the nitty-gritty!
The story line was interesting, I definitely don't like the blue bloods. There's some fighting and other dangers mixed into the story to keep it exciting.
It is my first book from this author and I have a feeling it's a spinoff series from checking out titles of other books.
I will definitely be reading more from this author as I enjoyed this story.
Title: Damnation Reckless Desire Series: Blue Moon Saloon Destination: Book 1, 159 Pages, Author: Anna Lowe Reviewer: Ingrid Stephanie Jordan Genre: #PNR #WolfShifter #BearShifter My Score: 5 Stars ☆☆☆☆☆
■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□ Woo-hoo Anna Lowe has written another phenomenal Must Read. Book One is a spin-off from Twin Moon Ranch with the approval of there Alpha Ty Hawthorne to some Bear Shifters to open a bar in town called Blue Moon Saloon. Ms. Lowe embraced the characters of Twin Moon Ranch to help to introduce the characters of Blue Moon Saloon. Jessica Macks aka, Jess and her sister Janna have been running from town to town looking for somewhere to go and fill safe. Ty let them be part of the Twin Moon Ranch Pack. Even Tina was helping the girls get a job. But they were terrified the Rogue Pack would come look for them. Jess keeps hearing the chanting those murdering Blue Blood Rogues kept chanting Purity..... Purity..… To make matters worse when they walked into the bar the girl recognized the men running the place. Jess heart rate tripled she can't take it, her heart is breaking again. Simon and Soren Voss are Bear Shifters who came home one day to see their whole pack killed, and burnt to the ground. It took awhile to hunt those rogues down and kill everyone of them. They did both were done they dug them self under and wanted to die. But the Fates had surprises for them. I was gifted this ARC for an honest and truthful review.
I encourage you to read the prequel Perfection and then check out Damnation. This is the first book in a new series about a wolf shifter named Jessica and a bear shifter named Simon who find out they are mates. If you love the Twin Moon Ranch series, you definitely want to check out this new series which includes some of your favorite charters like Tina and Ty.
Both Jessica and Simon thought they had lost everything when a rogue pack killed their families. Jessica and her sister have been on the run for months when they meet Tina and she offers them a place to work and live. Simon and his brother thought everyone had died in the wolf and bear communities and are shocked to see them. Things did not end well for them before the attack and it is hard for them to work together. They will have to be honest and open if they want to heal the wounds.
I like the new characters as well as the fact that we get to see characters we know and love from the other series. Jessica is a strong, smart woman who has faced a great tragedy but not given up. Simon loves her and thought he was doing the right thing but it caused her tremendous pain. He is a very loving man and very devoted to those he loves. I was eager for these two to resolve their differences and find their way back together. I look forward to her sister's story and his brother's story as well.
" A Super Exciting New Series! " This storyline is amazing as all of Anna Lowe's books are!. The characters are fantastic. If you fell in love with Anna Lowe's series " The Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch" then you can not help but love this one to!. Jessica aka Jess and her sister Janna have been on the run from a psck of rogue werewolves that killed their pack. Their flee led them to the Twin Moon pack. Tina the Alpha's sister has vowed to help them. So she lines them up with a place to live above the Blue Moon Saloon. Then she gets them jobs at the Saloon. There is only one problem the Saloon is run by a pair of brother Bear shifters Simon and Siren. Them being grumpy bear shifters wasn't the problem no its that Simon is her fated mate who rejected her years before!. Jess does not know if she can handle working for Simon only for Janna she has no choose. Simon can not believe Jess is still alive!. He knows she is his fated mate only years before his clan had forced him to reject her. Then a pack of rogues had whipped out his clan. All that is left are him and his brother. Can Simon and Jess work things out?. Will the rogues find Jess and Janna again?. You will love this sweet, exciting, suspenseful, funny, and steamy hot 5-star plus Romance!!.
After the bear shifter brothers Simon and Soren Voss find their whole clan burned to the ground, they go on a killing spree of the Blue Blood rogues responsible. After all is said and done they wind up at Twin Moons where they are offered the chance of running the Blue Moon Saloon.
Simon is still tormented by the thought that his brother and him were gone from the clan that fateful day they lost them all. He also lives with the added pain of having lost his true mate Jessica without ever telling her how much he truly loved her. Instead her last thought was that he didn't want her.
Jessica and her sister have been on the run from the Blue Bloods since the night they wiped out her family and pack. All that running takes them to Twin Moons where Tina finds them wandering around town and immediately offers them a placed to stay and work, at Two Moons Saloon. It's been 3 years since that fateful day for the sisters, but worse has been her broken heart, but it starts beating erratically when she walks into the saloon.
So much suspense and longing. I was so glad to see some of the guys from Twin Moons, Ty, Tina and Kevin and I hope to see more of them and the rest of the guys in coming books in this great new series.
Blue Moon Saloon series takes place around the Twin Moon Ranch series. It includes some of those characters and relationships. For that reason, I highly recommend that you first read the Twin Moon series before you start this book. It will allow you to understand the individuals and roles in the community. Plus understand why Tina was so willing to help 2 bears and 2 she-wolfs. You will definitely not be disappointed in reading both series.
This book will have you feeling the loss, betrayal, love and hope that the bears and wolves feel since the destruction of both of their packs. Can't wait to see what is next and how the rouges will try to hurt the community.
A great start to another fabulous series by Anna Lowe!! I love that it's a spin-off of the Twin Moon Ranch series, so not only do we get introduced to new characters like Jess, Janna and the Voss brothers. After so much pain and loss Jess and Janna have finally caught a break with the help of Twin Moon Ranch. But Jess is surprised to discover that her new boss is her ex lover and mate that she thought tossed her aside. But oh boy was she wrong. And now the rogues that destroyed their lives are back and mean as ever.
(I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review)
Jess and Simon are fated mates but shes a wolf and he's a bear so it was frowned upon. They thought they figured it all out when Simon pulled a 180. Soon after, both packs were destroyed by a shifter purist group and the couple meet up again with another pack. The two don't talk, assume a lot and dance around their feelings.
For the most part this was a nice little read, I didn't love it but it had some entertaining and some sweet moments.
Loved this! Second chance romance with shifters, I'm all on board for that! Jessica and her sister, Janna, are starting new at the Blue Moon Saloon after their whole pack was wiped out by Rogue shifters. They are wolf shifters, and Jessica is very thankful to have found a place at the Blue Moon, but when she finds out her new boss is a past lover, she isn't too happy, but there isn't anywhere else for her and her sister to go, so Jessica is going to have to just deal with it. Jessica was deeply hurt by Simon when he broke things off with her without much explanation, and finds it difficult to be in his presence; especially since her wolf wants her mate, and Jessica is still affected by being near Simon. Simon is a bear shifter, and he can't believe it when Jessica walks into the Saloon; his bear growls mate and wants to make her his, but Simon hurt Jessica when he broke it off, so his bear is just going to have to wait. I love that there is POV's from both Jessica and Simon! Jessica is a strong and intelligent woman, and I really felt for her, when she lost her pack and when Simon turned her away. The romance is so sweet and wonderful, and Simon was adorable! I love that he rubs up on stuff! I know that sounds a bit weird, but it's a shifter story, so I think it fits. I love that he is a bit of a gruff bear, but his soft side comes out with Jessica. I also like that we get some action scenes, and I really enjoyed the writing! I also loved all the side characters, and I am super excited to read each of their books! This is a great shifter read, and I'm definitely looking forward to more from Anna Lowe!!
DAMNATION is the first book in the Blue Moon series. While each is meant to stand alone, I believe it will be better to read them all and in the order of release. This is a spin-off of the Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch series. I have not read any of those books and had no trouble with following the characters (but I’m mighty curious now!).
Grabbed me by the heart and held on straight until the end. I loved every minute of listening to this story of destiny and love that was meant to be claimed and celebrated.
While in some stories it is annoying to hear inner dialogue, in this one it made the wolf and bear additional characters and they are terrific! They are so simple, single-minded, and in love with each other. Now if they could just get their humans to quit being so proud.
This is the first book I have read from Anna Lowe. I want more!
Narration: The narrator has the perfect voice for this story. She is Jessica Macks… and she is perfectly divine as the voice of her wolf (‘Mine, My mate, Mine!’). I think I’ll go listen to her again right now. Talk to you again soon!
Note: while I was given this book as a gifted audiobook copy, my opinions are my own and are given freely.
Title: DAMNATION Series: Blue Moon Saloon #1 Narrator: Kelsey Osborne Length: 4 hours, 25 minutes Category /Genre: Paranormal Romance Recommended for: 18+ due to sexual content Listenability: OK or NSFW Received from: Anna Lowe (as an Audible gifted copy)
Damnation (Blue Moon Saloon, #1) by Anna Lowe - LOL Funny and suspenseful moments, tragedy and heartache. Fate & Destiny if you don't believe this in it - this might be the book for you.
Simon and Jessie think the have out fixed their family to find out it blew up in their face. OMG the hurdles and events and tragedy so emotional and suspenseful. Even f you normally wouldn't be a fantasy "shifter" book reader this might be a good book to try out because it has a lot of meat and potatoes to it. You'll gobble this one up and definitely want to know more about the supporting character's. I liked the humor the chasing your dreams trying to find your soul mate the ...I got to say it....suspense on your seat begging everything will turn out fine. Anna Lowe knocked this one out of the ball park.

Ms Lowe delivers exceptional and truely imaginative stories again and again. Impressive characters that stay with you long after reading the last page. Humorous, entertaining and sometimes wise inner voices of the animals.
Jessica and her sister, both she-wolves, are on the run from the rogue shifters who killed everyone in their pack. They end up in Arizona and both get a job at the Blue Moon Saloon. Imagine her shock and dismay when she finds her former lover (and mate), who had rejected her, is now her boss.
Simon, a bear shifter, loves Jess even though he had tried his best to forget her as the Elders want her to mate the heir of his clan. Tragedy strikes and he and his brother are all thats left of his clan. Destiny takes them to the Blue Moon Saloon where they try to start a new life.
Jess and Simon will have to overcome the resentment and pain of the past as the rogues are not done with the she-wolves just yet.
Well written with adventure, suspense and a lot of emotion. Eager to read the rest of the series.
Loved it!
I was gifted a free copy and voluntarily chosen to leave an honest review.
This was a really sweet story that was fantastically written. I liked that it wasn't too long and not filled with loads of randoms at the end.
The characters are well thought out and interesting, not just the main couple. There's a lot of story even though the book is short and you really get to understand the world and feel for the characters Lowe has created.
The main reason for the two stars is because I didn't like the way that characters were always conveniently and correctly reading into another person's glares and minute actions when they weren't even on 'mind-reading' terms with them. It felt a poor way to tell me what a non viewpoint character is thinking and began to annoy me more and more.
Also I was interested in reading the further stories but after checking out their blurb and excerpts I'm not going to. The emotions and actions of the main characters in future books seemed to be recycled from this one (in one case almost word for word). I don't want to essentially read the same character over and over.
Book 1 of Blue Moon Saloon by Anna Lowe Where to start? I absolutely loved this book but to get the full story or beginning YOU MUST READ PREQUEL PERFECTION SHORT STORY BEFORE DAMNATION. This is a short story about how Simon first meets Jessica but it just beautifully starts everything off but when you start book 1 damnation you are thinking of a great romance that started so well but this first book throws you so much. Simon is a bear shifter but after been away from his clan with his brother for some time he returns to find them all dead. He and his brother end up as cook and bartender at the wild owned Blue Moon Saloon. Jessica and Janna are wolf shifter that turn up in town and running for 6 months after a rogue kills their whole pack. Such great twists in this series and I’ve only ready two books and one was a short story. The audiobook is fantastic Kelsey Osborne is a favourite of mine and narrates so beautifully. If you love shifter series that look no further then Anna Lowe
First thoughts: 3.5 stars. Rounding down because of the abrupt ending.
Review: Welcome to the Blue Moon Saloon! This is a spin-off series in the same world as The Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch. We start by seeing Tina taking care of a lost she-wolf, Jessica. Jess and her sister Janna had lost everything when a purist rogue wolf pack had attacked her pack and the neighboring bear shifter-clan. Since this is a romance, of course the new owners of the Blue Moon Saloon, are two bear-shifters, one who happens to be Jess mate.
This is a story about second chances and forgiveness. For the most part, Jess and Simon are a very cute couple. They work through their issues and it was perfect. We also get to see Ty in full alpha form and I have to say, I loved it.
The end comes about a bit to abruptly, of course, it was all set up. Can't wait to see where this will go.
