Considering how long I waited to read this after I finished the first one. I think I did an okay job remembering what happened. Overall this was a good read. I will admit it was a little long. So from time to time I wished it had gone faster. It was nice that we got to find some stuff out and I hope that the last book will be a nice ending to the series.

Started right where book 1 left off! The characters are so real and are drawn with real depth, something that is often missing in this genre. I care a great deal for them. Off to read book 3!

For me, book one started off kind of rocky, but by the end I was hooked! I immediately bought Lost Gods and started to devour it. The characters developed a lot in book two, the chemistry grew and there was a lot more tension. I love Josie, Judah, Simone and Kai. I love the way they interact with each other and they work so well together. Sometimes it's frustrating for readers to see that the characters have feelings for each other and refuse to acknowledge it. But these things must take their time so that they don't come out rushed. There was a point where I thought the story was going to go one way and then BAM, it went in the complete opposite direction. I never saw it coming. Now I'm off to buy book three.

Got book 2 for free as a bonus for signing up for the author’s newsletter.

Book 2 picks up right after book 1. I love this world AM Yates created, but I must say I was pretty frustrated with the lead character in this book- Josie Day.

Josie is a smart, strong, and no nonsense. She’s trained all her life to be the leader of her people. She’s supposed to be able to discern and execute their laws, etc etc.

But in book 2... Josie is aggravatingly blind and dense. I guess she’s supposed to be as part of the build up, but there were many times I just wanted to shake her. Lol!

Yes, I didn’t like Josie as much in this book, BUT I’m still loving the series and where the story is going.

Gosh

It is so hard knowing when the character doesn't want to acknowledge the truth, so the author hasn't written it yet. Josie was being so blind and it was killing me. I yelled at her, there the book down. Tried to peek ahead, you know it's good when you get involved, I just feel it took too long,,lol

Absolutely gripping series. Book 2 continues with even more action, tension, emotion and confusion than Minor Gods.

Almost as good as the first.

I took off a star because while it was good, it lacked the intensity of the first. It's still a must read as part of the series.

Not: Bu yorum Eylül 2014'te yazıldı.

This was an alright second story, but there were many times when it was dragging so slowly that I was more skimming than actually reading. Josie still isn't really my cup of tea, due to her cluelessness, it got to be really annoying how stupid she seemed to be at times. I mean she has all these people telling her to stay away from Russell, yet, she continues to trust and believe every thing he tells her. Or the fact that she thinks Judah doesn't care about her! Good lord...how stupid? Naive? Clueless? Can you be? But, I'm still wondering what happens between Josie and Judah, so I'll be getting the third in this series.

Questions/Comments:

1. One question that I could never figure out was why Judah stole the fire mask? Was it because Russell won the one fire mask back in the day? But, at the same time, Josie had made the mask for him... Or when she realizes that Russell had his own fire god mask...why would he have bothered taking another one?

2. Another question I couldn't figure out was how Josie never realized that it was Judah aka fire guy. I mean she's always commenting about how perfect he is, yet, even with making out (kissing and touching), she's still clueless. Especially with thinking it was Russell for so long.

3. There was a mistake (at least I'm pretty sure it was a mistake) when Josie was talking to Russell in front of the center. The others were waiting by the SUV for her, so they could leave. At one point she has to look behind her to see what her friends are doing, but then when Russell's tires blow, she exclaims how it couldn't have been Judah because she'd been looking at his the whole time.

4. I was never a fan of Tessa at all! Way too much whiny-ness! Grow up already.

5. Finally, we're informed how old Judah was. 18. Why do I still not believe that? I don't think there was anything he did that made me think he was that young.

6. "A few months ago, Tessa and Judah had been slobbering all over each other..." No they weren't! They were always together, but if any slobbering was going on, it was on Tessa's part because Judah was always looking/watching Josie.

7. I really wish the author could have come up with a different way to get Josie to fix the earth goddesses mask instead of relying on how she did it in the first book...with torturing her friend.

The end of Minor Gods left me speechless. I knew the second book was going to be amazing too.
Josie's character is so freaking amazing and I wish I could be like her! So in the first book, Josie's mother is killed and she soon finds out that she has been training to be the Triune all her life but it turns out her sister is the Triune.
In this book, Josie uses her gift of being the only mask-maker in the world to fix broke masks to help her tribe against the woman who killed her mother and wants to kill her too.
Even though she has lost so much already, she pushes her feelings aside to help protect he friends an her tribe from the Earth Goddess. That's what I love about Josie's character, no matter what she always wants to protect her friends and help her tribe even if that means sacrificing herself to do so.
She is so brave, yet so vulnerable at times. Even when love is staring at her in the face, all she thinks about is her sister and what she'll think and not wanting to hurt her.
I absolutely loved this beautiful book. It had everything you want in a book: fantasy, love, drama, action and mystery.
I kept wanting to scream and shake her to make her realise about the Fire God (I don't want to spoil it for you so I'll try not to give anything away).
This is definitely a book/series I haven't read before. The whole idea of the ancient masks, summoners and mask-makers and elemental powers and triune's, its definitely like nothing I've read before. I have fallen in love with this world.
I can't wait to read the third book because the ending had me on the edge of my seat, peeking through my fingers. I couldn't put it down!
All of the characters were developed beautifully.
There is honestly nothing bad to say about this book other than; I wish it didn't end.
Thank you so so much to A.M Yates for this incredible book. I am certain that this series is going to be one of my favourites.
Definitely 5/5⭐️

This one was even better than the first!! I bought the ebook version, even though I wanted a hard copy, because I couldn't wait to find out what happened next.

Lost Gods picks up immediately where Minor Gods left off. The pace is just as fast and exciting, the characters are developed even further, and the plot is just as interesting! I couldn't put it down, I read it in a single sitting! And can I just say, if (based on that last chapter) Fog Guy is who I think he is then I did not see that one coming at all!

I'll be starting the third book tomorrow, I'm completely addicted to this series! It's a must read! A.M. Yates, you've written an utterly captivating and addictive action packed series!
