4.5 Unlikely Hero Stars ⭐
Despite the retro cover, Shameless was everything I enjoy about a good erotic romance. And the secret is likeable characters and seriously good sex scenes that remind you that well written smut exists.

Maddie thought it was the icing on the cake when she walked into a dive bar, only to be surrounded by what looked like serial rapists. Like breaking up with a cheating fiancé and then having car troubles wasn’t enough for one evening. Hoping to get assistance, she finds one biker that is willing to save her ass for the evening. Hooking up with him; well that was unexpected…
"You had sex with some random biker in a bar bathroom and then gave him a blowjob in front of a bunch of other bikers – that gives you a lifetime membership into the slut club. From one slut to another - welcome aboard, baby."
Fast forward three months, and her knight in tarnished armor is the one needing to be saved. When Maddie finds Riley in her house, it seems only fair to return the favor. Except what could an upstanding lawyer possibly have in common with a drug dealing biker, apart from mind-blowing orgasms??
I really enjoyed the simplicity of this story. These two couldn't be more opposite but they each had insecurities. Where Riley was a tortured soul with history of hardship, Maddie offered kindness he desperately needed. Although at times it seemed a little unrealistic, it was good nonetheless.

This book was obnoxious. I get it. We like that she’s “plus” size or heavier or “BBW” or whatever. But come on. Whether they’re thin or heavier, it gets old reading it every five minutes. It doesn’t need to be used to describe the woman all the time. Sighhhh. She needs to be confident and build some self-esteem. Love yourself first. Always.

I tried the sample and this did not work for me. It just moved too fast. There was also so much "talk" about the heroine's body that it became too much. It was almost on every page. You may love it. My opinion. Reading is subjective.

The story of tattooed hot biker Riley and overweight lawyer Maddie. It’s bad to make someone’s defining characteristic ’overweight’ but this is what the character constantly did to herself. If we were to add up all the words about her family, her hobbies, her lawyering… they wouldn’t be a patch on how much this girl goes on about her ‘curves’ in a negative way.
Sheesh.
But onwards. Maddie gets herself caught up with some bad biker dudes in their bad biker bar, but gets saved by one of the bad bikers. Queue a hot bathroom
scene and the book starts off with a bang. Then there’s a break, then they collide again after he’s wounded and the h gets to nurse him back to health.
The basic story arc was that she couldn’t believe someone so hot would stick around with her but says nothing to voice her fears and he worries that someone so good would not stick around with a bad guy like him, but obvs, he says nothing either so we just get a whole lot of internal worrying.
So that wore me down a bit. I would have liked a bit more action, a bit less worrying and a bit more time spent outside her apartment. Bad biker dude seems to ricochet from scary criminal to cooking the h dinner every night so fast it gave me whiplash.
It kind of started off with a bang then settled into quite a domestic setting, which albeit sweet, lacked some of the biker drama I was expecting.
It was a sweet story though. I enjoyed it. I worried that the main characters both ‘needed’ each other because of their own vulnerabilities and shortcomings. I never feel this creates a solid foundation for a relationship. You want people to be strong and independent but choose to be with someone else because they make them even better.
So yeah, a few concerns but still a good read.

Sooo, I can't remember why I started reading this book, someone might have suggested it to me so here you go.
There were some really hot scenes and it was a good read, but let's face it; the hero was pretty much and ass and my favourite character was the best friend who wasn't even a main character.
I'm not sure there was an actual plot to the story but it was a nice and quick read.
Maddie was pretty nice and I really liked how she matured during the book because SERIOUSLY, I almost DNF this book because in the first chapters her body kept being mentioned every freaking second and not in a nice way.
I mean, we get that she is curvy but WHY on earth should that be so heavily mentioned. I didn't like how she kept describing her as "big" "fat" etc every two seconds, sheesh. But it gets better after a while.
So I recommend this book if you're looking for something nice and quick to read, with some seriously hot scenes and without too much of a plot to be honest.

DNF Halfway through
Not believable at all.
The heroine made no sense in how she acted in that situation and each situation after. I liked the setup, but the plot was outrageously unbelievable. No sane woman (who had no brushes with the hard life and was as innocent as a lamb) would do or act on the things she did.
I like the whole good girl/bad boy vibe - I wanted this to be good. It wasn’t.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest opinion. There is definitely a reason why Elizabeth is one of my favorite authors. Her books just keep getting better and better. The story of Maddie and Riley started off with a bang, literally, and keeps you hooked the entire way. Maddie is a sweet lawyer who has been in one very bad relationship that tore down her self esteem and Riley is a bad boy biker that comes to her rescue. Maddie is a bit of a departure for Elizabeth because her female caracters are usually very secure and strong and Maddie is a bit more broken down but she was still a complex and smart heroine. Shameless has become my favorite Elizabeth Kelly book, i already read it twice and will probably be reading it again soon. Maddie and Riley end up saving each other and Riley is a great alpha-male that builds her up and cherishes her.

A spicy and complicated love story! This book grabs you right from the start. The whole biker bar part will have you on the edge of your seat! It's not your typical meet/cute scene, but you'll remember it long after you've read the rest of the story. What begins as a wrong turn gone bad, turns itself into this beautiful story about the powers of redemptive love and the joy of finding that person who fits all of your crooked pieces. You would think that the story ends there in the bar, and if it were one of those cheap knock off .99 cent quickies, you would be right. But thankfully it continues and it gets juicier and deeper and rather quickly, the characters of Maddie, Riley, and Roman will start to feel like your new best friends. It's just that kind of book. The love scenes are hot, the story line is tight and the pace of the story is steady. I loved reading every page and will probably go back and read it again. This is definitely a story that I will recommend you read!

I received an ARC for an honest review, where to start, I loved Maddie and Riley so much, they are definitely top Five favorite book couple, Maddie is coming off a bad relationship with a fiancé that was a piece of crap and did not deserve to breath the same air as Maddie, She walks into wrong place definitely right time and meets Riley, who is hot alpha male biker where can you go wrong, he rocks Maddie's world that night and definitely mine too ;) Several months pass before They meet again and then the excitement really happens!!! Definitely must read and once you start there is no putting down, Love the secondary characters of Roman!!! Lots of lol moments that have to do with Riley's man meat!!! Love it!!!

Another great Elizabeth Kelly book Shameless a story about a broken heart Maddie and a tortured soul Riley who collide into each other one night each living with their own broken dream. Their inner voices tell them their not good enough but as the saying goes the heart knows what the heart wants. Maddie a curvy good girl and Riley a strong man who feels he is bad. This is one of those books you just can’t put down, Elizabeth writing grabs you in from the first chapter. I loved this book ...redemption... I enjoyed the secondary character Roman who brought smiles and laughter to the story. I recommend this book, I have read it twice.. I received an ARC for an honest review I loved it !!

I was excited and chomping at the bit to receive Shameless. The plot was engaging, the characters relatable, and the romance scorching hot. This author's work seems to be getting better and better. Riley is a bad boy biker that I fell for completely. Maddie was his perfect counterpoint and had me rooting for her safety and happiness. Holy smokes the sex. The sex is detailed and lusty without being over the top. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review and I couldn't have been more pleased. I highly recommend this book to fans of a sexy, romance that will keep you glued to reading until the very end.

Holy Hells Balls! Elizabeth Kelly has done it again. Can I just say I don't understand how she does it but it seems the more books she writes the better and better they get. I loved this story!! Maddie who is a not a size 2 I love that Maddie has curves we should embarrass our curves and it refreshing to read a book about a women with curves. That begin said the story about Maddie and Riley was seriously one of the best stories I've read and they are probably one of my favorite book couples. They chemistry between the two is just explosive. You find yourself not wanting to put the book down. Seriously It really is a good read and anyone and everyone should read this book.

Too much sexscenes and not enough story. I found that I liked previous books by Kelly, so this one landed on the to read shelve.
It wasnt bad, but I had a more MC book in mind while reading the sample and it wasnt that. There was not enough drama/angst/ character development. I hope Elizabeth Kelly will write more angst in her books, that would make it so good.

I absolutely loved this book, it was so different from anything that Elizabeth Kelly wrote before and in this case different worked. Not only was our leading lady not a size 2 she also had meat on her bones which I'm loving by the way. Riley was just as awesome. This is a must read and everyone should read it. Great job Elizabeth you rock

I loved it
This book had me laughing so hard when Roman was around. Riley was absolutely sexy sounding and honorable. I loved the way the book started and over came tragedy that was apart of the book. You won't regret reading this book. I loved it.

I felt as the characters were feeling
Good writing, good story and steamy sex scenes. But the more important was the way the character were felling. Self conscious because of who or how they were. This book expressed really well that part.

Fab read!
I really enjoyed the story of Maddie and Riley, it was a great tale of two people who had demons to overcome but struggled to do it alone. Some tough scenes about Riley’s sister that really pull on your heartstrings. Overall a great read
