Awakening
Cassie and Hector are high school seniors living in Las Vegas. One morning, a strange illness strikes them and several of their friends, giving them powers to affect others with their minds. Before they even know what's happened, government agents kidnap one of their friends, forcing them to flee.
Not sure how their powers work or who they can trust, Cassie and Hector hide in a labyrinth of tunnels underneath Las Vegas. They test their abilities as they search for clues to the location where their friend, and other young people with powers, are being held prisoner.
It isn't long before their powers draw notice, and the agents are back on their trail. Can they develop their psychic powers quickly enough to avoid capture and rescue their friend?

Really?
I have never bailed on book so quickly, by page 2 I had misgivings, by page 4 l was detaching.
