Warlocks Augum, Bridget and Leera are finally able to relax after a grueling ordeal in Bahbell. Now their fugitive mentor has a dangerous new quest—sneak into an ancient library and research an artifact that could devastate the Legion.

Their substitute mentor Leopold Harvus, however, is an obsessive and petty man with a distaste for anything untoward, particularly Augum and Leera’s affections for each other. As their studies suffer from his meddling, one brazen act of rebellion plunges the trio and their quest into mortal peril, for Harvus quickly proves he is not a man to be trifled with.

Probably my favorite book in the series so far.

I read a bunch of reviews where others disliked this book a lot. I don't understand. This one was GREAT.

We get more arcanery (magic), we get new friends, magic TOURNAMENTS, an old magic school with history and lore, understanding of the past, hope for the future. We get more action, more excitement, and more AWESOMENESS.

People mention things like "pacing" or "teenage angst" or "there were some grammatical errors". COME ON PPL Get over yourselves, I don't see you writing incredible stories in awesome worlds with legit magic-systems, etc! I'll take your reviews seriously when you write something this good. Really, I didn't even notice ANY of that junk because of how good the book was.

Really I was able to read all of the books in a series in a row, didn't have to wait for book 5 to come out. But if I had finished this and had to wait for book 5, I don't know what would have happened...

This is probably my least favorite book in the series so far.
Let me state first that I'm most likely not the target audience, as I'm twice as old as Augum. That means that I don't have a lot of patience for the teenage drama that takes place in this book, and that's the biggest contributor to my rating of 2 stars.
Aside from that, the pacing felt off, and the simultaneous quests of the tournament and the library made the entire storyline too strained and too unnatural. Too much needed to happen in order to pull the ending off.
The final battle also felt extremely rushed, convoluted and confusing, and I can't say any more about it without having to use spoiler tags and I hate those, so I won't.

Again there were quite some grammar issues (then/than, all right vs alright, some weirdly constructed sentences) and if we're nitpicking: what bothered me immensely was that apparently in Sithesia there is such a thing as acidic soap. Soap in the actual world is made of lye and fat, and lye is the exact OPPOSITE from acid, it's alkaline! It's the opposite end of the pH spectrum! Soap will therefor never taste acidic, for there are NO acids in soap!

That being said, I've come until book 4 now and I'm not going to stop until I've finished the series. Legend better be living up to its name!

This is probably my least favorite book in the series. Not only slow but kinda cringy. I really don't like how it mixes with romance and stuff. I just wish the romance was put hold towards the end of the series. The library scene can be interesting but drag too long. I wanted more scene in the tournament than the library. But it did make me happy to what happen to the certain character.

A great read that stumbled a little bit but finished strong.

This would have been a 5-star if it was not for a couple chapters that jerked me right out the story. Still a great read.

First this series is told from a third person limited point of view. It is a coming-of-age story that jams a lot in a little bit of time. From the first book to this point only a few months have passed.Basically the winter season and the beginning of spring. I expected a time jump in the beginning of the series that has not occurred. However the characters have matured in some ways as they've experienced hardships, trials, triumph and tragedy. The magic system he is familiar and easy to remember especially for those who played any type of role playing games. This book feels the most solid when it comes to consistency all the way through. In previous books it did feel like part of the story was for children and the other parts were for young adults. Now it feels more as if the entire story is meant for young adults.

I could tell the author has grown since the first book. The story is engaging and I think we're early in the series the author was a bit of a discovery writer I think they've grown to rely on outlining a lot more. This is because the stories are tight with less random shifts in directions within the story. The pacing was quick and kept me wanting to read just one more chapter. By the end of the story all I keep thinking was wow this is good.

There was one part that did jerk me out of the story enough that it took me couple chapters to get back into it. It had to be the feel of an author who was using a tool, the misunderstanding, that is often seen in romances for the first time. It created a situation that was uncomfortable as one character acted completely out of place, another character went full-blown melodramatic, and in the end it rang false reminding the reader they were reading a story. This came along with two side characters were introduced or expanded upon. They where do you fit into the mold of spoiled Rich teenagers of the upper crust. However they felt out of touch with the rest of the series. It was as if they had no idea how bad, or dangerous, the world was outside their little bubble. It was as if reality did not touch them.

Again I'm ready to jump into the next book of the series but I have noticed that the author while improving usually has something within the story that keeps it from hitting that five star rating for me. The antagonist continue to be flat for the most part. There's no subtlety when it comes to who's bad. It's not that I'm wanting a gray antagonist. I rather enjoy having one that is a solid black. It's more along the lines of when a new antagonist comes along it seems like they have a sign on their head saying watch out this is an antagonist.

I am excited to see how the Author ties the story up in book five and I am looking forward to who will survive into the squeal series.

This book is about Augumn Atone, son of a murderer. In this book Augumn must leave the saftey of Milham, a faraway village to learn to use a legendary artifact to control an undead army to even the odds against his father. Augumn then relizes that he must take part of one of the most traditional tournaments to gain the diving rod so he can save his grandmother. Augumn then overdraws and suffers from a deadly arcane fever, will he survive? Can he complete this seemingly imposable mission?

This book is very good, and thats why I rated it 4 out of 5. It is very exciting, with many exhilerating moments. It is humorous too, with many jokes from Augumn's friends and himself. I recommend this book to readers that get bored very easily. All in all. this is a very good book and I hope you enjoy it.

A great 4th edition to an amazing adventure!

Augum, Leera, and Bridget tackle another quest to help Anna Stone, but first they have to get past an evil mentor. I've this series of books. I would like for these books to not have the young adult description, because it is pigeon holing adult readers from even looking at them. I am obviously older and a teacher, I would recommend these books for anyone over 12. Anyway, the story is fast paced and has tons of mystery and adventure. Autumn learns more about his mother and how evil his father truly is. I am off to read the fifth book and will review it as soon as I am finished.

Another good one

I must admit I did not like this book as much as the others. It seemed the characters took too big of risks which cost them at times in some parts in the story. This is probably because of their young ages, though. They are maturing. And after all this time the Lord of Legions says yes to killing his only son. You see how far he is falling. You also find learn some background information on this cruel, seemingly heartless man. I enjoyed the book. It was still a wonderful story.

Good pace, repetitive characters

I have loved this series so much so far. One of my favorites reads. However, It took alot of patience to push past the character of Leera. She is not very likeable as a heroine or even as the hero's love interest. She is constantly rude, selfish and foolish. That is my only complaint. Her character has been this way through the whole series. I'm looking for some character growth in more than just Augum. I'm hoping in the next book and next series we see some character growth from her so I can come to like her more.

Amazing

Story blew me away. I LOVE how you write, and did little else this week to finish all 5 books. PLEASE keep writing, don't keep such talent to yourself. I have one request though. I would have liked the story a little more if you had altered the point of view to a few different characters. That's just a request, wouldn't have made the story better or anything. You're amazing, thank you for these books!

The book was really good, but the romance was a little too much for me this time. It sort of draws away from the very complicated plot. Also, I sort of had to read the part where Robin died twenty extra times to understand what was happening, since one moment Augum was confused, then Lividius let Augum die, then suddenly Augum was fine? Other than that and a couple grammar issues (weird sentences, missing commas, &c.), the book was AMAZING and totally worth five stars.

Epic battle

A padlocks story, exciting full of suspense and surprise encounters. Always a monster around the corner or on the other side of the door.. In a level four battle between Robin and Augum will Robins scary aunt be an honest judge or will she try to help Robin win the battle?

This book was very enjoyful. I read a review that they didn't like the book and felt they were too old for the book. You have to image that you are in the book. This is a fantasy and does have young people as the character's and older ones as well, but you got to remember you were there one time. I enjoy the continuing saga. I am looking forward to the next book.

Enthralli g story

This series is one you will read to the end. It just keeps you asking what next will they survive? Great characters and few editing errors. Always a plus in my humble opinion.

I literally wanted to rush into the next book but I felt it would be unfair to the author and anyone who likes a great book! I have become completely engrossed with this series. You are missing out if you don't read this!!

Captivating

These books just keep getting better and more enthralling. Bronny’s pacing and character development are exquisite, and his deft management of plot points and story beats are excellent.

Clash was my favorite book in the series. I really liked where the author took the trio. The ancient library is my favorite place in this world and the support characters in this book are amazing.

This book had the first moment where I was like..."YEAH"! Augum is finally getting some balls here... Anyway, I do recommend this book. The series is up and down but this book is definitely a strong point. IMO

So I was pleasantly surprised by this book compared to the last two. It was up there with the first one. Fewer impossible close calls but still some. The only drawback to this one was the introduction of current vernacular that was out of place.

I appreciated the story line in this one. A bit more realistic near misses and good continued character development.

Great story telling

The story continues for the main characters with adventure and battles are plenty. The fleshing out of the lands the story is told in plus the people they meet along the way is fantastic in it Detail transporting you there

I am really enjoying the way the author is developing these characters. His magic system is unusual enough it isn't lumped in with many of the others. I look forward to the next book in the series.
