Asteria of the Second Legion of demons has messed up. Royally. With a capital everything. Certain that her dark lord is about to end her in the most painful way imaginable, she’s stunned when the fallen angel offers her an uncharacteristic shot at redemption—and determined not to fail him again. With her life on the line, she sets out on a mission that sounds easy but proves to be far from it when a hot slice of angelic eye candy comes storming into her life, stirring dangerous desires and tempting her more than any male before him.
Fifth Commander of the Echelon, the highest order of angels in Heaven and those responsible for hunting demons, he will allow nothing to stand in the way of fulfilling the mission he began close to a century ago so he can finally return to his home. On the verge of securing the half-breed he has been hunting, he can almost taste victory—until a sassy demoness struts into his life, awakening wicked needs and forbidden hungers that will test him to his limit.
When their mission brings them on a collision course, can they fight the fierce heat of the passion that blazes between them to claim a victory for their side or will it burn their resistance to ashes and set their hearts on fire with a love both forbidden and eternal?

In her books she creates detailed worlds, twisting plots, mind-blowing action, intense emotion and heart-stopping romances with leading men that vary from dark deadly vampires to sexy shape-shifters and wicked werewolves, to sinful angels and hot demons!

If you love your angels a little dark and wicked, the best-selling Her Angel series is for you. If you like strong, powerful, and dark vampires then try the Vampires Realm series or any of her stand-alone vampire romance books. If you’re looking for vampire romances that are sinful, passionate and erotic then try the best-selling Vampire Erotic Theatre series. Or if you prefer huge detailed worlds filled with hot-blooded alpha males in every species, from elves to demons to dragons to shifters and angels, then take a look at the new Eternal Mates series.
Opposites attract, and no two beings have been clashing for all of eternity like angels & demons, so when the Fifth Commander of the Echelon (Rey) and Asteria took centre stage I knew that sparks (and swords) were going to fly. You won’t feel gypped by this novella because AWAKENED BY A DEMONESS had several momentous scenes, four sexcapades, a divine story, and a happy ending that’ll make you believe in ETERNAL MATES.
This book opened with a one-on-one between our heroine and the Devil himself which ensured my full attention from the onset. The ultimate big bad has a commanding presence, and when you’re on his shitlist, you have good reason to shake in your boots which is why Asteria’s predicament gave me chills! The closing chapters were equally rousing when the couple is faced with a difficult choice: repent her sins or fall from grace?
The plot was really well crafted considering the number of pages that the author had to work with. The “mission” that’s mentioned in the blurb seemed pretty apparent, but the reality ended up being more than I could have ever surmised. Obviously the usual good vs evil was an on-going theme throughout however, its direction was utterly unique, and the holier-than-thou attitude that so often plagues angel tiles was absent.
Asteria and Rey’s relationship was complicated from the start; they’re after the same half-breed, are from opposing circles with ingrained kill on sight instincts, and yet they are strangely drawn to one another. I loved the conflicting girls just want to have fun and dude has a stick up his butt viewpoints. It made the dialogue extra saucy, and caused each love scene to be steered by a different emotion which kept things fresh.
It’s still full steam ahead for Felicity Heaton’s ETERNAL MATES series, with a killer tenth installment! ~ 4.5 Stars
Is this really book ten in this series? Wow it only feels like a few months ago that I started reading the Eternel Mates series but it still continues to be one of my favourite reads. Whether the author brings passionate Elves to life, fierce shifters and vampires, or even magical creatures it's always a must read for this reader. With this story the author takes a stiff somewhat starchy Angel and pairs him up with a salacious , crafty and fun loving Demoness and you just know it's going to be such a blast watching them clash and ultimately fall head over heals in love. So here we get to meet Fifth Commander of the Echelon ( no name but a certain someone sure likes to call him Rey!) and he is an elite Angel with incredible powers that only fools would cross . Charged with finding a rare half breed young woman he keeps getting one upped by a particularly pretty but infuriating Demoness . Asteria has one last chance to prove her worth to her master and trust me failure is most definitely not an option! How hard can it be to track and tag a half breed who has no idea just what she is? Slight problem though as there's competition in the very handsome form of a rather aloof Angel but Asteria senses he might not be as cold as he pretends. Hey who am I kidding? That cool drink of water running around with angelic wings has a fire inside him that Asteria ignites but it's an unholy alliance that's forbidden . Caught between a rock and a hard place, it's getting hotter by the minute and then of course there's the tiny issue of Asteria's demise if she doesn't deliver. Oh yes when Ms Heaton decides to torment her characters she does it in the most outrageous style ! This story was up and running from the first page ! I loved this couple from Asteria's sassy style to the mark on the Angels wrist that was truly quite a scary issue . Now add in the thoughts running through the big guys head and I'm laughing as our poor angelic guy struggles wondering if his name might be Silly! See there's never a dull moment here and I've no wish to spoil the fun so really can't say too much more. What I will say is this is possibly the sexiest book in this series, just hot hot hot. I was surprised by the end but then thought about it and yes I can see why it ends that way but I'm sorry it felt a little abrupt and I wanted perhaps just another page or so. I'm guessing the next story was bugging Ms Heatons muse so time to leave these characters to enjoy the start of their new life together . I was gifted a copy of this in exchange for an honest review Four and a half from me
I've been a fan of the Eternal Mates series since the very beginning but I have to admit I was a little nervous when I realised that the couple in Awakened by a Demoness were both characters we haven't met before. From previous experience I tend to enjoy the books more when they're about characters that I'm already invested in and when they are part of the larger ongoing story arc but I'm happy to say that I was pleasantly surprised and I actually think this is one of my favourite books in the series.
One of the things I love so much about these books is the huge variety of supernatural creatures that Felicity Heaton has added to the mix. We've seen elves, shapeshifters, dragons, witches and more but now it's the turn of a feisty demon and an angel who is rather stuck in his ways. This really is a case of opposites attracting and boy do they attract in the best possible way.
Asteria messed up her last job and is fully expecting to be tortured by the devil as punishment so it comes as quite a shock when he gives her one last chance to redeem herself. All she has to do is track down a single half-breed woman and bring her to hell. Sounds simple but she isn't the only one who has the half-breed in her sights and heaven want to capture the woman just as badly. In fact, they've sent a member of the Echelon, an elite demon hunting angelic task force, to give them the best chance of winning. The two natural enemies cross paths in their rush to find the prize and neither is willing to back down from their goal. Everything changes when the half-breed shares a shocking secret though and now Asteria and Rey are forced to question everything they've ever been told.
On the surface Asteria and Rey couldn't be more different, not just in their choice of home but in their attitudes to life and the way they look at things. Asteria is fun loving and playful, she doesn't take life too seriously but she goes after the things she wants with a single minded focus. Rey on the other hand is much more composed, he is very aloof and holds himself at a distance from everyone around him. In spite of their differences they do actually have more in common than you'd first think but I'll let you discover those similarities for yourself.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story, it was a fast paced and fun story with great characters and fantastic chemistry. Although this book is set in the Eternal Mates world it actually works really well as a stand alone story but I do wonder if we could be seeing the beginning of a new story arc introduced. It'll definitely be interesting to see who the next couple are and whether there is any continuation on from this one.

Awakened by a Demoness is the tenth installment in the astounding Eternal Mates series by Felicity Heaton. It can easily be read as a stand-a-lone.
I was having such bad luck with books, until this one showed up. I devoured this book and couldn’t put it down for the life of me. It had everything I’ve come to love in the Eternal Mates series. Action, adventure, twists, surprises, suspense, captivating unique characters, and sexual tension that was off the charts. Ms. Heaton knows how to weave an intricate and lethal story. Her books are engaging, gripping, and pull together a verity of supernatural species.
This story was off and running from the first to the last page. Their was no shortage of surprises and twists that will leave you in aww of this latest installment.
We are never given a dull moment; between our leads and their mission. I loved Asteria our Demon, she's sassy and Ray our elite Angel, is rigid. Both where fascinating and when they run across each other, it’s a collision course to something mountainous. Together these two had their issues, making the conversations amusing and the sexual tension fierce. And, what we learn about these two along the way. Well I didn't see that twisting SURPRISE!
I also enjoy how the author weaves in other characters. They just pop up on the pages giving us a little taste and showing us a small piece of the picture for that character, who may eventually get a story. It wets the appetite. Leaving you wanting more.
Hands down Heaton hit this one out of Hell. Loved it! If you have not picked up this series yet, you need too. Paranormal Romance fans will love the uniqueness of the world, characters, and verity of supernaturals. It’s a must read!

A demoness and an angel? Get ready for a forbidden romance with Awakened by a Demoness. Asteria (demoness) has royally screwed up. She thinks she's about to be punished (permanently) by the devil himself, but instead he gives her one more chance to redeem herself. She is tasked with finding an angel/demon half breed and bring her back to Hell. Little does she know one very sexy angel is tasked with the very same duty.
Being that this is the 10th book in the series, you’re probably searching your memory for Asteria and the angel we’ll call ‘Rey’. In all honesty, I know I did and I really think they are new players to the series. Which, can be a good thing. Asteria I found to be a humorous character. Evil can be so wicked! Comparing her to Rey (angels can be so stuffy), at first was light night and day. But, as you got to know them, you could see she wasn’t all bad and he wasn’t all good. As the story progressed, the clashing, snappy retorts all led to steamy moments and revelations. And then the biggest shocker is handed out by none other than the half-breed herself. Julianna drops quite the bomb on are two star-crossed lovers leaving them on a ‘what to do now’ decision. While it wasn’t too surprising that they got a HEA, it’s that finally decision that was a bit shocking. And that HEA, it may or may not suggest a future visit with these two. I can see it going either way, so not quite a cliffy, but a opening is still there.
I have mixed feeling about this book. On one hand, it was really good. I liked the dynamics between Asteria and Rey. There's quite of bit of tension and flirting as they work things out. The unexpected twist caught me completely off guard. Never saw THAT coming and I never would have guessed it in a million years. So all that is well and good. Now what has me on the fence is trying to figure out how it all ties in together with the other storylines or characters in the Eternal Mates series. I mean I get it, he's an angel, she's a demoness, both are immortals so yes they will be mates eternally. But how it all fits in with the elf kingdom, dragons, shifters from the previous books has me scratching my head. In all honesty, Awakened by a Dragon can be read as a stand-alone calling it a day and putting these characters out of my mind. Sorry folks but if a book is part of a series I like to know how it all ties in together. I'm just not seeing it.
I've been reading Ms. Heaton's work for several years now and I got to say she really is worth the read. Her great plots, interesting characters and hot sex never disappoint. Fans of her work are going to enjoy Awakened by a Demoness.

*May contain spoilers *
What do you get when you mix a Demoness and a male Angel together? In this fascinating story, we get Asteria who is a demon and she is being sent out on a mission by the devil himself. When she lands in the Fae Town, where she thinks the one she is looking for may be she runs into none other than a real life Angel. Something sparks for her but Angel man wants nothing to do with her other than they are both looking for the same person. Asteria learns her angel has no name so she teases him to no end finally calling him what she wants. These two figure out they have more in common then they ever knew. I cannot give you anymore pickup the book and get reading their story. It grabs you from the first chapter all the way to the end. Leaves you wanting so much more.
Loved this story. This couple gives us action, suspense, and some real hot romance.
I was gifted a copy of this book for an honest review. Felicity Heaton
Asteria of the Second Legion of demons has failed a task the Devil himself set for her, but instead of killing her he has given her another task. She has to find a half-breed who thinks she is a witch, and bring her to Hell. Sounds like an easy job except that someone else is looking for the same woman. The fifth commander of the Echelon has also been sent to find this half breed and bring her to Heaven. Asteria realises that the sexy angel is looking for the same person and tries to interfere with his methods. Rey, ( Asteria's name for him) finds it very difficult to keep his mind on the job and off the intriguing demoness who is push all his buttons. A fun and sexy battle of wills. Two who should be deadly enemies find they have a lot in common. Our hero is incredibly powerful but also so innocent and loveable. Our heroine is a very naughty little demoness but with plenty of power of her own. Great fun, I loved it.
Hells bells & heaven above!!!! I loved Awakened by a Demoness It's no secret that I'm a fan of Felicity's work. PNR is my 'go to' genre and her books totally hit the spot!
This story continues the Eternal Mates series but, for me, it had a different kinda vibe from the rest of the reads. I actually got the same kind of feelings that I had reading some of the books in the Her Angel series - and that was mainly down to the storyline.
Heaven and Hell are up to no good, again... They are both out to get a half-breed; pitting a feisty, flirty and determined demoness and an uptight, straight-laced angel, an Echelon no less, against each other in their race to 'turn' the half demon/half angel to their own side.. but, as we've come to expect with Ms Heaton's stories, not everything is as it seems......
I really fell for this couple. The spark between Asteria and the Fifth Commander is there from their first encounter... they are drawn to each other, regardless of how much they try to ignore the 'enemy'. The build up of their relationship was fraught with doubt and second guessing of their connection and feelings. Was it all real, were they really mates, as Asteria thought, or was there something else behind the attraction and their inability to stay away or stop thinking about each other.
Asteria is a lot of fun. She's got no filter, she's sexy, sassy and will use any means required to get what she needs. When it comes to finding her target she determined as hell - she has to be as, with this mission, she's pretty much fighting for her life - if she fails her duty this time, the outcome could be way worse than death - and for this particular demoness, that's unthinkable!!
The Echelon; he's hot, good looking and he HATES demons - his kind will kill any that they come into contact with... but when he meets Asteria, for some reason, he fights those feelings. He experiences emotions and thoughts that an angel shouldn't have for anyone, never mind a demoness... and he doesn't trust that they are real.
Even though they are in competition to find the half-breed, they end up working together to try to locate her as she's currently hidden in a coven. When they do finally find her, she tells them something that blows everything they've ever known to hell and back.... That's all I'm saying, 'cos anything else would give the game away! ;)
Packed full of the action, adventure, twists, turns and intrigue, with all of the heat, passion and sexy times we love, Awakened by a Demoness felt like the start of something bigger to come in the Eternal Mates story arc.... I could be way off base in my thinking, but I'm excited to find out where this fab series goes next.
A fantastic, 5* read. Even though AbaD is the 10th book in the series, it could easily be read as a standalone, but IMHO, read the rest of the books, they are well worth it!
I received a copy of the book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
What a wicked book this one was. And by the Gods I loved it. I do so love the eternal mate’s series. I have been hooked since book one. Word of advice make sure you do not need to be anywhere for a while before you star this book, Hell before you start any book by Felicity Heaton. She has a way of taking you hostage and not letting you go till you reach the end of the book. And even then you do not want it to be over. I swear she is telling their story like they are talking to her; there is so much of her soul in these books. Oh and one more thing, have everything you need nearby, as I did not get up till I was finished.
I loved this story, one of forbidden love. Who knew a demon could love and Angel (well that is beside Felicity). This is Asteria and the Fifth Commander of the Echelon. As Angles do not have names. But Asteris fixes that, she decides he needs a name and just starts calling Rey. They are both dispatched to collect the same half-breed. And as soon as they meet in the square in the Fae town, it is an immediate urge to approach the other all though they are supposed to be enemies. They shrug it off as they want to kill the other not that they are fated mates. But when they have a shared dream Asteria knows what it is, and freaks out. Then the real fun begins, when they find the Half-Breed nothing can prepare them for what happens next. Let’s just say it was wild. I love how this book ended. Gods I wish I could share this with you too, but it would ruin the book for you. Let’s just say they have a big decision they have to make and it will bring tears to your eyes so have those tissues handy. I balled like a baby, both sad and happy tears.
Now before I ruin this for you I will leave off here. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. If you do like this book, please consider leaving a review. The Authors really like it when you do; they value your opinions too.
Demons and angels, man. You can't take your eyes off them for a second or they start going at each other like bunnies in heat. Which isn't a bad thing, I must say.
So. This time around we have Asteria and Mr. Tall, Dark, and Deadly Angel-man (who does acquire a name. Eventually.). They SHOULD be mortal enemies. And in some ways they are. But they're also drawn to one another. As fated mates are. They both also have some messed up information to work through.
Because, as we know in this crazy world, nothing is as it seems. Asteria and Rey are a prime example of that.
We got some not-so-subtle behind the scenes machinations by the Powers That Be that looks like the start of something BIG. While this is Asteria and Rey's romance, it's not all about them. There's danger on the breeze and the PTBs are putting their pieces on the board.
With the Eternal Mates series, Felicity Heaton has given us pairings that you would never have thought possible. This is no different as a 1200+ year old demoness and a 'nearly' 500 year old Echelon Angel are put in each others' paths. Will these two fight it out, or will their fight turn passionate?
Now, if you're reading this book, the chances are you've read at least some of the Eternal Mates series before and you know by now that things don't always go smoothly for the main couple. Although, to be fair, I think that Rey and Asteria have a harder time than some of the others, especially when you find out that this is a bit more involved than just the mating instinct.
Very well written, with a smooth pace, this is the latest gem in the Eternal Mates crown and definitely recommended. Featuring characters not mentioned previously, this can be read as a standalone, but seriously, why miss out on the rest?
Felicity Heaton pulls off a fast pace romance between a couple that is totally opposite of each other in every way possible and she leaves the reader wanting more when they are done reading.
There are a few stories that I read where I can tell the author had a lot of fun while writing and this is one of them. I especially love stories such as this because the characters really seem to come to life while I am reading them.
I know there will be other paranormal romance readers that will also enjoy both the story and the chemistry that flowed throughout the pages between Asteria and Echelon, as much as I did, so I recommend this novella to anyone that loves a good fast paced sexy PNR.
Before I started Awakened by a Demoness I just had to do a reread of the series. I am a huge PNR fan and this is my all time favorite reads. You have elfs, angels, shifter, vampires any creature you can positively think of is in these books.
In Awakened by a Demoness we have an angel who is bound by his duty to protect for hunting demons. Also a demoness who is fun witty and down right feisty.
This is a forbidden relationship, that kept me on my toes.
It was hot, sexy, and an action packed read.
I will say the ending was a bit abrupt, but I enjoyed this story immensely.
I can't wait for what Felicity Heaton comes up with next!

I love Angel books, even more when paired with a demon!
This is book 10 in the eternal mates series, and it features characthers we haven't met before. Obviously Rey is an angel from Heaven, blonde and green eyed gorgeousness. Asteria is demoness from hell and a black haired temptress.
This unexpected pair collide when sent on a mission from their bosses to retrieve a half breed. Asteria is a total tease and Rey is still a man under his heavenly white wings.
I was a little concerned as in this series i am used to characthers I've been introduced to before, I should have known that it wouldn't be a problem as when theyre fated mates all the chemistry is there, mixed in with a good storyline.
I loved it!! I was given an ARC for an honest review.. I'm not good at leaving reviews but I really enjoyed reading this awesome book. I've never really read about angels and demons for some reason they scare me but romance is involved. and romance is one of favourite genres. there is a bit of action, a lot of flirting and lust. there is also a part where I felt sad and laughter. so if you are looking for a good read no need to look further. I honestly recommend Awakens by a demoness.
Omg Felicity does it again..An angel of the Upper Echelon, who's job it is to hunt and destroy demons...And a beautiful Demoness given a chance to redeem herself to her master...Both after the same half breed. As they cross paths on their search things between them just don't seem right. They are supposed to be enemies...And then they realize that some how they are fated mates.. Great read in this on going series of The Eternal Mates..

REVIEW: AWAKENED BY A DEMONESS is the tenth installment in Felicity Heaton’s adult ETERNAL MATES paranormal/fantasy romance series. This is angel and Fifth Commander of the Echelon ‘Rey’, and Hell’s demon Asteria of the Second Legion’s story line. AWAKENED BY A DEMONESS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Asteria and Rey) AWAKENED BY A DEMONESS is a story of forbidden love that follows the building relationship between one of Heaven’s angels, and one of Hell’s demons. Asteria and Rey have been sent on assignment by their respective ‘leaders’, each searching for a certain half-breed witch who reveals more than our couple could have imagined. When Asteria finds herself in the land of the Fae, she comes face to face with one of Heaven’s angels-a man who would become her future and potential downfall.
The relationship between our couple begins acrimoniously. Our angel, whom Asteria names Rey, is a hunter of demons but for some reason he is unable to destroy the woman with whom he will fall in love. Asteria is a demon; a sassy female who must complete her assignment or face the wrath of Satan-himself. Asteria pushes all of Rey’s buttons, while Rey attempts to keep his distance from the sexy demon. The $ex scenes, although limited in number, are seductive and provocative.
AWAKENED BY A DEMONESS, like most of Heaton’s previous intallments, is mostly a narrative where the reader follows the story line through the leading character’s thoughts, ideas and reflections. The series arc has taken on a new direction. There is a war on the horizon between Heaven and Hell, and our couple may have committed themselves to one side more than the other. The premise is an adventure with a few surprises; the characters are colorful, exotic and animated; the romance is intimate and emotional. Felicity Heaton’s AWAKENED BY A DEMONESS will captivate your imagination leaving your breathless for more.
Awakened by a Demoness is an intriguing addition to the to the Eternal Mates series. Although it is the tenth book in the series it can be read as a stand-alone. So far each book in the series is based on characters that appeared in previous installments, however, in this installment I was being introduced to characters I never met before. Therefore, I was going in blind where this book was concerned. However, I was not in the least perturbed as Ms. Heaton has proven time and time again that she has the ability to keep me glued to the pages of her books. As such I expected no less with this installment.
This has proven to be one of my favourites in the series. I found it to be funny, romantic and action packed. I have to admit it was shorter than the other books in the series, but it still packed a lot of punch. In Awakened by a Demoness we meet two unlikely mates a demoness and an angel. This was a case of opposites attract in every sense of the word.
Asteria is a 1,200-year-old demoness and a member of the second legion of demons. She is facing the prospect of being punished for failing her master, who was none other than the devil. However, he has granted her a second chance and this time there was no room for failure. Her assignment was to find a half-breed (half angel and half demon) and convince her to join the forces of hell. Sounds easy right, well Asteria would soon discover that this may be her most difficult assignment as the heavenly forces were also searching for this supernatural being. They sent their best hunter, the Fifth Commander of the Echelon, for this assignment. What made this rather interesting was that he was a demon hunter.
The interaction between these two beings made for an entertaining read. They were times I found myself laughing at Asteria’s antics, especially when targeted at the angel. Watching them both trying to fight their attraction to each other was endearing. I was curious to see how their relationship would unfold. I knew that eventually they would end up together, but I never expected the manner in which it would come about. That was an unexpected outcome, but I believe it added a bit more credibility to the story.
I loved the characters. Asteria was sassy, playful and had a great sense of humour. She is not afraid to go after what she wants, be dammed the circumstances. She is the complete opposite of the Fifth Commander of the Echelon. He had had no name but was eventually given one by Asteria. Initially, he came off as haughty and detached. For 400 odd years he was led to believe the beings of the mortal realm and other supernatural beings even more so demons were beneath him. However, as the story progressed Asteria had him questioning these beliefs. At this point we see his true nature begin to emerge.
Verdict: Awakened by a Demoness is a story of love and the sacrifices made as a result. It was enjoyable from start to finish. I am eager to find out what next Ms. Heaton has to offer her fans. If you love paranormal romance that features a variety of supernatural beings with unique story lines then you will enjoy this series.
I received an ARC in exchange for a honest review,
This is the tenth book in the Eternal Mates series. I loved it!
Asteria is a wonderful character. I liked her very much. She is one of the few demonesses living in Hell. Having made a serious mistake, she is terrified when she has to face her lord and master, the Devil. Instead of punishing her as she'd expected, he sends her on a mission - to find a half-breed and bring them back to Hell. Unfortunately, she didn't count on meeting an angel from the ranks of the Echelon (highest warrior class) nor being attracted to him.
Fifth Commander of the Echelon (or Rey as Asteria names him) is a wonderful alpha character. I liked him a lot too. He is protective, though he can be arrogant and condescending when he wants to be. Sent on a mission to retrieve a half-breed for Heaven, he didn't count on meeting a stubborn, sexy demoness who won't leave him alone.
I have been eagerly awaiting the release of this book as I am a huge fan of the Eternal Mates series. I love the world the author has created for the characters to live in. I started reading this book and didn't put it down until I finished it. The author usually introduces new characters in earlier books as cameos. This time, these characters are a complete surprise. I really enjoyed getting to know these two better.
The story is told from both Asteria's and Rey's points of view and this gives the reader an insight into their thoughts and feelings. They say opposites attract and Asteria and Rey are the epitome of this saying. They come from different backgrounds (Heaven and Hell) but their attraction is magnetic and instantaneous. I loved Asteria's teasing of Rey, but sometimes wondered if he would cause her serious bodily harm with his righteous indignation and arrogance in the beginning. Luckily, this didn't happen. What did happen left me reeling. There are a few surprises that I never saw coming and, although there wasn't a huge battle scene (I must admit I love those), the action was as intense as always. I must also admit that I felt a little upset that this book wasn't a little longer; it felt like I'd only just started it when I finished. However, the ending had me wondering what will happen next in this series. The story arc seems to be heading towards something cataclysmic, but I guess I shall just have to wait and see. Luckily, there is a small preview of the next book in the series, which has whet my appetite, called Haunted by the King of Death. This is due out in July 2016 and I can't wait to get my hands on it.
Felicity Heaton has written another fast paced, sexy paranormal romance that I thoroughly enjoyed! I love her fast paced writing style, which flows effortlessly from scene to scene. She is on top of my favourite author's list.
I do not recommend this book to younger readers due to the extremely HOT and explicit sexual scenes. However, I highly recommend this book (and series) if you love sexy paranormal romances full of vampires, elves, werewolves, cat shifters, succubi, incubi, angels, dragons and demons (and demonesses). - Lynn Worton
Firstly yet again I would like to give a huge thanks to the lovely Heaton and her assistant Carmel, for always thinking to ask me to sign up to future review tours.
This story was off and running from the first to the last page.
There was no shortage of surprises and twists that will leave you in awe of this latest instalment.
What do you get when you mix a Demoness and a male Angel together?
Asteria is a lot of fun. She's got no filter, she's sexy, sassy and will use any means required to get what she needs. When it comes to finding her target she determined as hell - she has to be as, with this mission, she's pretty much fighting for her life.
Rey (AKA The Fifth Commander of The Echelon) is HOT, good looking and he HATES demons with a passion- his kind will kill any that they come into contact with... but when he meets Asteria, for some reason, he fights those feelings. He experiences emotions and thoughts that an angel shouldn't have for anyone, never mind a demoness...
Heaven and Hell are up to no good, again... It seems both Asteria and Rey are out to hunt a half-breed; pitting a feisty, flirty and determined demoness and an uptight, straight-laced angel against each other in their race to 'turn' the half demon/half angel to their own side.. but, as we've come to expect with Ms Heaton's stories, not everything is as it seems......
The spark between Asteria and the Fifth Commander is there from their very first encounter... they are drawn to one another, regardless of how much they try to ignore the 'enemy'
"Life was better with no strings attached, free of the ties that bound people together in an endless cycle of pain and suffering."
Together these two had their issues, making the conversations amusing and the sexual tension fierce.
And, what we learn about these two along the way. Well I didn't see that twisting SURPRISE!
Add to this lots of hot, emotional romance. Plenty of action and a conspiracy or two it makes for a super addictive read.
This book is not as long as others in this series but it still manages to pack in loads of action, romance and suspense.
This starts with Asteria, a demon who made a bit of a hash of her last job and is pretty much expecting to meet a rather grisly end at the hands of The Devil himself. She's confused but grateful to be offered a chance to redeem herself instead. Go to the human realm and find someone. Sounds easy right? Maybe not lol. This is where she meets the sexy hunk of angel who appears to be on a mission similar to her own. A demon and a demon hunting angel don't seem the greatest match up but things are not always as they seem.
This is the tenth book in this series but most, including this, do standalone. I'll freely admit to having the attention span of a gnat where series are concerned but that's not the case here. Felicity Heaton seems to inject a new freshness to the series with each instalment that keeps me grabbed and eager for more.
I loved both Asteria, she's strong and sassy but is also softer underneath. Our angel (angels in this series don't have names) who Asteria names Rey is also great. He's strong but conflicted and super sweet. I loved reading their interaction and how both of them grew together throughout the book.

I loved this from beginning to end, was pulled into the story and characters immediately and read it all in one sitting.
I would definitely recommend this and can't wait for the next story in this super addictive series.
Felicity Heaton such an amazing writer, I’ve had the pleasure of reading more than a few of her works. She has touched every emotion I think known to man, with her story lines and characters personalities.
This book is just a awesome addition to Eternal Mates, loved the sassiness of Asteria ((oh oh that prince that sent her on the job, oh my damn I want!) see the demoness is kinda in hot water and this job is her last chance she gets. Then you have the Fifth commander a heaven sent angel, stubborn and walks the line as if he wrote the rules he is totally bound by honor.
You can just imagine Rey looking down his nose at Asteria, she is who she is and isn’t about to change especially for no angel. There problem? Is they are on the same job and who gets the rare prize?
How do you ignore the forbidden? How to not feel the spark? a demon hating angel his hate runs deep yes? , a demoness being what she is already sees the heavenly host, his hot gorgeousness as a enemy... Doesn’t she?
Awakened by the Demoness is just an amazing story, the storyline full and entertaining, keeps you turning the pages. The play on words between both characters was fun, the heat from then both will have you fanning your face. A naughty lil demoness, on a mission that could very well end her life if she doesn’t come through. A commander from heaven strong in his beliefs, his code and honor is used to hunting demons. It doesn’t matter if the demon is a female, and causes your own insides to heat up. Enjoy the 10th book in the Eternal Mates series! I recommend it.
In Eternal Mates Book 10, Author Felicity Heaton continues to excite and draw the readers in with the antagonistic and sassy Asteria as she spends her time throwing the Fifth Commander of the Echelon off balance. The interaction between these two is hot and hostile throughout the whole book.
This story shows what one would see as a no win situation between these two enemies who come to want each other but can not have each other. For me the further I got into the book, I kept asking myself how could this possibly turn out with an angel whose soul job is to kill demons and a demoness who will die if she fails to retrieve the half-breed.
I really enjoyed how saucy Asteria kept pushing the Fifth Commander of the Echelon's button (who she named Rey much to his shock). Even when she was concerned she kept up a brave face and I liked that part of her personality.
Rey was so stiff and proper that I just couldn't get any feeling for him till about half way through the book which was pure genius on the part of the author. His holier than thou attitude was perfect for him being an angel who destroys evil. At the end wow what a hero he was and the reader will be shocked at the resolution between Rey and Asteria.
I give this 5 STARS and recommend it to anyone who love a good Paranormal Romance.
An copy was gifted in exchange for an honest review.
"By the Devil"...Disappointing. There was just no way I could make myself like this story! Best thing about it for those new to Heaton's writing is that it is definitely a stand alone read because it is NOTHING like the rest of the series as I expected it to be. Asteria and Rey's relationship just fell flat for me. It only came across as pure lust and nothing more. Redundant and BORING! I didn't like either of the characters nor could I appreciate the lack of adventure that an angel and a demon teaming up together presented. This could have easily been a fun-filled adventure but instead I found it didn't hold my attention and hard to finish. Definitely my least liked of the series. I can only hope that Heaton redeems herself and the series in the next installment. Good thing it was only 110 pages as I could not stand much more! Pass on this one if you're expecting it to fall in line with the rest of the series. The title and synopsis suggest suspense, some adventure and dangerous desire--desire is about all there is.
Awakened by a Demoness by Felicity Heaton This is A SPOILER Free Review, first for me i know *gasp*
Book lovers, wow this is Book 10 in Felicity’s series and it can be totally read as a standalone.
This was Felicity at her best, the PNR junkie I am gobbled this one up in one sitting.
Once you start reading, ABaD you will be captivated by the characters and their story, my attention was gone for, I couldn’t put it down. I read it that quickly I will have to re-read it again.
A Demon and an Angel! Seriously, how wicked is that! I know pretty cool.
I don’t want to give away much, but damn the sexual tension between these two was perfect, lovable characters fabulous writing, and best of all makes you want to read more when it is finished.
Overall 4 stars, I was gifted an ARC for an honest review.
I enjoyed the story but it lacked everything that is in the rest of the series. This was more of a .5 book and not a full story for me. I like the action in the other books and this had none. Not much of a story at all.

...so, what did I like about it? As my regular followers will already know, I am a big fan of Ms Heaton’s Eternal Mates Series and love her writing style! This novella is no exception. Another passion filled novella in this amazing series. I think it can be read as a standalone.
I enjoy the way she mixes fantasy and reality; her characters are never black or white, good or evil but a complex mix of positive and negative traits and emotions which they either have to embrace or overcome; Rey and Asteria are the perfect examples of this. Rey, an Angel, is light personified? Asteria, a Demoness, the epitome of darkness?
I have already mentioned in previous reviews how I love the way Ms Heaton makes the most explicit sexual scenes very romantic – I think she’s a very talented writer because, for me, a story is only really erotic if I’m emotionally connected to the characters involved. Ms Heaton gives her characters such depth that they do become real, even in these shorter novellas, however it’s not just her main characters that have depth but I find all of the characters she introduces into a story to be complex, multifaceted and completely believable. I think it’s partly due to their very real human virtues and foibles even though most of them are mythical, paranormal beings.
This story made me giggle, gasp in shock and shed a tear or two. Of course, I got caught up with the passion (who wouldn’t *blush*) but the tender insights into both Rey and Asteria’s histories, doubts and the growth of their trust in each other’s love was heart-warming to read. I am hoping that we’ll see more of Rey and Asteria in future instalments. *hint*hint* Felicity Heaton
So, ummm, was there anything I disliked about it? My only complaint was the ending. I was disappointed that it was so abrupt. :-( It isn’t a cliffhanger ending from an adventure or romantic point of view but I was left with many questions; where will the fated mates live, within one of the demon realms, hell or even earth? How will they survive? Will Heaven intervene?
So, basically what I’m saying is... I really enjoyed this paranormal romance tale; I devoured it in a day! It was a great read that made me smile, cry and feel all warm & fuzzy inside. I thought it had well written erotic thrills, heart pumping fight scenes, amusing banter between our main characters and tons of romantic gestures. I would recommend this book to those who enjoy reading stories about the wonderful illumination of removing the blinkers of prejudice, inner strength and of course, soul saving love.
This story is more a side story that features none of the main characters from the previous books. It’s beautiful and quirky because demoness Asteria has the flirty fun sexy persona that makes this female warrior a challenge. Tasked by The Devil to fetch a half-breed angel/demon and bring Julianna to their side in a form of redemption for a failed mission, little did Asteria know the same task was assigned to The Fifth Commander of the Echelon Angels. Not having a name, Asteria gives the Fifth Commander the name Rey. These two fight the attraction (which is amusing) and as the story unfolds learn they are fated mates (Asteria knew before it was legit). However they also learn something that twists the plot. So these two fall in love and neither Heaven nor Hell will stop Rey from his female. Such a good story - strong ending.
