As the sun goes down and night falls, in kids' rooms all across the country, the same scene is settling the children down and reading a story. Combining Alison Inches's crackling language with a new Muppet puppet from Jim Henson Productions, Go to Bed , Fred is a perfect good-night storybook that comes with its own custom-designed Muppet made of blue plush, with white googly eyes and a shock of bright yellow hair, sized to fit an adult's hand—which means that Fred himself can read and act out the story. Suitable for ages 6 months and up.

A nice collection of simple rhymes that pertain mostly to the bedtime procedure. It does lack the repetition that my son craves in rhyming texts, but its simplicity is still engaging enough to keep his attention for the minute or so that the text lasts. We've done a few reads over the past couple of days and he stops whatever he's doing and focuses in.
This book describes the process that could take place when preparing to go to bed. It uses different characters names and what they're doing to put rhyming words together. To retell the story in an engaging way, children could role play/act out what the character is doing. I think they would enjoy representing Fred, the one who goes to bed at the end.
