Full of grammatical mistakes and odd choices of 'heroes', and strangely written.

This book had excellent and encouraging content; I love reading biographies. My copy was poorly edited (lots of typos and grammar issues), but it was still a good read.

The book was extremely comprehensive. It contained 243 examples of Christian heroes starting with the Apostle Paul and continuing through the Dark and Middle Ages, Reformation, and recent centuries, ending with Billy Graham and Joni Eareckson Tada. The information was interesting, although wading through that many 2-6 page stories was a bit of an effort. My biggest criticism, however, has nothing to do with the excellent biographies of these heroes who are worth our time and study. It's that the book was not edited well. It contained many errors of punctuation and formatting, and some even in the grammar where words were missing from sentences. For example, p. 205 in the story of Elizabeth Prentiss: "Elizabeth carried a special affection her father. . ." If only one or two errors in a book of this length were present, I would understand; however, many more are present, and it detracts from the book. Other than that, reading about the lives of great Christians is always a privilege!
