Staci Castillo is the new girl in town. She has just accepted a transfer to the small town of Shadow Point and is having a girls' night out with her new colleagues.
She has never slipped out of a bar to make out with a hot, handsome hunk in an alley before.
But she didn't move to a new town to live the same unadventurous, unexciting life.
Why should she say no to some harmless no-strings-attached fun? What could possibly go wrong?

But of course in Shadow Point where paranormals outnumber humans, magic and mayhem rule and it's Murphy's law that applies.

Marcus Beck knows that one taste of that sexy, curvy human woman isn't going to be enough. Staci is mortified when a whole conga line of unapologetic, infuriating witches interrupts them in the alley. She leaves in a fluster but his bear promises to track her down. Nothing can keep a bear from its mate.

But Marcus has skeletons in his closet, skeletons which aren't really dead and done. Will Staci run from him when she learns of his past?
Or is she brave and foolish enough to love him?
Either way, Staci's life is about to change in a way she could never have imagined...

QuickShot Review
[Same review for all 4 books because...yeah]

I got these on Kindle Unlimited because why not, I love shifters and am always on the hunt for a good new series. This was just ok. There’s a clear formula and no real surprises. They all have tortured pasts, they all have BBW heroines and they all have the same rhythm. They also all go down like cotton candy - sweet tasting but melts quickly and forgotten just as quickly.

So, I've read her other series Gray Bears and others. This is a bit of a spin off of that. We see a lot of the same characters! Awesome! This is actually longer which I dig cause I really have enjoyed her longer books. I loved this book!

Staci is new in town and out of a long relationship and she was betrayed obviously and starting out new and hopefully to stay in Shadow Point. She meets Marcus in the bar and they have a sexy moment. She's a good girl type and is embarrassed when caught in the compromising position. Ha. She is apprehensive to give Marcus a chance because of being burned so bad. After some much needed coaxing he does get a date finally! He tells her his horrible past and why he thinks hes a bad bear/man. He's really not. What he did was saved 2 bear cubs! He thinks she wants nothing to do with him after revealing that, but Staci shows him thats not the case. Such a sweet story but his past does come back to haunt him and she gets hurt. Whats a bear to do! Read and find out! :)

Fantastic

I was so glad to see there was another story based in Shadow Point. Gramma and Ne-ma were unforgettable characters. This story was excellent. I loved all the characters and the plot was interesting. Stacie and Marcus made a great couple, and I loved how they met. I am looking forward to reading more by this author.

This was such a sweet read, it was nauseatingly sweet. I could not handle, I just honestly wanted to be done with it. The writing was ok, but PG rating, except for the smut scenes, and even those weren't that descriptive. Then the sister angle it just did not mesh with me. It felt like an add on to justify her sister being brought into the mix.

It started out so good then it just was okay. The villain was so stereotypical and the ending was super rushed. Oh well.

Happy bears

I forgot to look to see how long this was. It was a quick read but could have a lot more depth to it if it was longer. Happy bears and witches.

This is a feminist nightmare

I'm not a crazy feminist or anything, but this was a dnf for me because SPOILER ALERT
1. Staci walks into a construction site and endures being hounded by catcalls and other totally inappropriate behavior by the men working there. And she just laughs it off like "boys will be boys". I'm sure in some insane way this was supposed to be cute or funny to the author but honestly, what SANE woman wants to walk through a group of men who act like she's the last piece of grandma's homemade pie instead of a human???
2. Less than 24 hours after meeting Marcus Staci decides she's ready to be his mate for life instead of actually reasoning out like a NORMAL person what it would take for her to stay with a guy who is guilty of homicide, even if it was in defense of kids. I mean, sure, killling someone in defense of kids is totally acceptable to me, but I wouldn't just jump into bed with a man who'd done that without seriously considering the problems that PTSD presents in a relationship or seriously considering how he killed someone without getting PTSD.
3. This is the least concerning of this books many flaws, but WHY ON EARTH are all exes bad at sex with bbws???? I mean, seriously?!? Have you ever had sex with a BBW?? They are awesome at sex because of their size and their insecurities. They leave a man with an impression, because they feel the need to make up for the extra poundage. And even if the partner isn't particularly awesome at sex, a woman with any kind of motivation can use a man to get herself off. Also, so she's bigger than Stick thin, does that actually make her a bbw? NO!! Eff no!! Unless she is shopping at Lane Bryant because Target doesn't carry her size, she isn't a BBW. She a normal sized woman. Ok. Maybe that's an exaggeration, but still.

I'm not a stickler for single sex partners or women who like sex, but talking about it in the work place is totally out of line.

Too short for such an infused plot. Wish it could be longer so that plot really seep into us. Just like any of Natalie's books, the smexy scene is just few and i left with wanting more. Oh me.... i want my shifter-love a bit filthy and smutty with rows and rows of immoral decadence.

A nice story

Although it seemed a bit rushed especially when the story came to drama. I enjoyed it though but it seemed too short.

Bear shifter finds his mate - no cliffhanger.

Kindle Unlimited standalone book in series. She's only there for a short time. He meets her in a club - she sees him again when the bank sends her to see about his business loan. When her life is in danger, he knows and goes to find her. Can he save her?

Bad Bear

I read book two first, but this was just as good. I wished she hadn't gotten hurt before they got to her, but at least the witches helped.
