Arsen decided he needed to hear what Sinclair had to say. Steele was anything but pleased with his decision.
Anne Sinclair let Arsen in on some things she’d found out about the women’s autopsies. The original diagnosis of death was accurate in concluding they all died of asphyxiation. Only there’s more than one way to die from it.
Seems the women all had elevated chemicals in their bodies, but the coroner didn’t see fit to search their bodies for needle marks. Sinclair led Arsen to believe the police are wanting rid of him. She told him not to go to the police with the information she had given him.
But Gwen finds out the truth as she’s held in the abandon warehouse as Allen gets a visit from a man who seems to know Anne Sinclair. Gwen knows she has to get away from Allen, but can she figure out how?
Arsen is overjoyed with the information Sinclair gave him and finds himself thinking of nothing other than Steele. A thing Steele is finding odd as he should be seeking out Allen and getting the man to confess to the murders.
It seems no matter how hard Arsen tries to do normal things, his past catches up to him, affecting his future.
Even if the charges are dropped against him, can he ever lead a normal life after having lived the life he has?
Arsen decides to listen to Anne and what she has to say about the women he has been accused of killing. Anne tells Arsen she was investigating on her own to help Arsen and to renew their relationship. Gwen wakes up and overhears Allen and all his plans for Arsen and Steele. Arsen is enjoying his new open relationship with Steele.
Arsen is very trusting of Anne despite what she did to him in the past and her accusations against Arsen to the police. Gwen's naivety is shattered in a horrific way. Steele is very insecure with her relationship with Arsen and feels he will not want her without the BDSM. Interesting movement of the story.
I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
I have really enjoyed watching Arsen and Steele connect as more than lovers. They are working together to find out who is setting him up and getting a lot more information. His past is becoming more of an issue in both the case and in their relationship. They both seem committed to each other and I really like who Arsen is becoming. I did not expect these changes based on their first meeting. It is a really interesting series and I look forward to each new release.
The plot thickens. Arsen has decided that he wants to change his ways for Steele. Steele wants to please him more than anything. The mystery behind the murders seems to be making more sense. Unfortunately, Steele's roommate has gotten herself in quite a dyer situation. Things seem to be reaching a climax. I am anxious to see who comes out on top.
