මඟ දිගට ජනකතා

මගදිගට ජනකතා නම් වූ මෙම පොතේ අඩංගුව ඇත්තේ මහනුවර කේන්ද්‍ර කොටගත් විවිධ ගම්වල සිදුවී ඇති ජනකතා හා ජනප්‍රවාද වේ. ඒ අතරම විවිධ රජවරුන් හා සම්බන්ධ ජනකතාද ඒ අතර වේ. මෙමෙ කෘතිය ලිවු ඩී.පී. වික්‍රමසිංහයන් වෘත්තියෙන් ගුරුවරයෙකි.

ඔහු ඉගැන්වීම් කළ කාලය තුළ දී ඒ ඒ ගම් වල පවතින ජනකතා තම පොතක සටහන් කර ගැනීම පුරුද්දක් කොටගෙන සිටි අයෙකි. ඔහු ඒ කතා සටහන් කර ගත් අතර ඉතිහාස පොත පත ඇසුරු කොටගෙන ඒ ඒ කතාවට අදාළ ඓතිහාසික තොරතුරුවල සත්‍යඅසත්‍යතාවය ද තහවුරු කිරීමද සිදු කළේ ය.

මේ නිසා ජනකතා වලට අමතරව ඉතිහාස කතා ද ඉගෙන ගත හැකි මාහැඟි කෘතියකි.

එකිනෙකට වෙනස් ජනකතා 50කින් යුක්ත පොතකි.

Interesting folktales relating to the Senkadagala Reign of Sri Lanka, related in a most exciting manner by the late retired school principal Mr D. P. Wickramasinghe. Most suitable for the children as well as adults also. This will surely help the children to develop their reading habit.

Loved this book. Great amount of research has gone into this compilation of folk stories. Cannot wait to read the part 2 of this book.

This book is a collection of folklore tales in Ancient Sri Lankan societies based in which of the kingdom era,where the country was governed by kings and queens. Specifically the stories are about the Kandyan kingdom,which was the last kingdom to be ruled upon Sri Lankans before the invasion of the Europeans.

This book is a quite guide to know about that era. Gives a little insight.....

But I think its poorly edited,because some story-lines are repeated.
