IT'S LIVE!!!

5 'Unstoppable Love' Stars

Masen and Booth both made errors in the past that cost them ten years. Ten years that they have been apart but never stop loving and thinking about the other. So many things came their way that they couldn’t overcome, but after this long separation all these obstacles seem small, and were easily overcome in the very beginning of this story.

Their love was that strong, and their magnetism was undeniable for everyone around them or even only reading about it. They were the ones fighting it, but not for long, because it was a completely lost battle. They couldn't be in the same room or in close proximity without being drawn to one another, sometimes only with eye contact, but they had no way to avoid it.

“I fucking love you, okay?” I said. “I’ve loved you for so long that I don’t even know how to love someone else. Trust me, you’re it for me and always have been.”

Masen and Booth were both amazing characters, I absolutely love them, and more than anything, I loved how they loved each other! Both had such strong and particular personas, and it was amazing to see how incredibly well they fit and how much they defended the other’s ‘quirks’. They were truly perfect together!
We had EVERYTHING in this book, sad moments, LMAO scenes, heart-bursting happiness, nail-biting suspense – really, everything you could want Lani Lynn Vale gave to us.

“You’re going to trust me with your baby?”
“I trust you with my heart. Why wouldn’t I trust you with my truck?”

And lets not forget the amazing secondary characters, that together with the MCs show us the fantastic work the public servants do for us every day, here in particular , paramedics.

Paramedics, though, were a different breed.
They smiled while most would cry.
They joked while most would stay silent.

And with these little snippets of these delicious men (Kilgore firefighters), Lani managed to tease us with the upcoming books of the series, and trying to guess who is the next 'victim' of such an epic love, like Masen and Booth, which is hard to top, but I have all the faith in her incredible work.

OMG, people!!!!
This book was fantastic!!! Really EVERYTHING I could only dream off, Lani Lynn Vale delivered! And I really got my - and I'm sure so many other readers - biggest wish, that one I almost didn't dare wish, . Booth and Masen's love story was PERFECT!!!
Thank you so much, Lani, for showing us that loyalty in Romance does indeed exist, and only makes the LOVE that much precious, and shine through! In a bad-ass way, of course!!!
This series is really knocking it out of the park!!! I can’t wait to see what comes next! <3

I should have known that Lani Lynn Vale wouldn't let us down. The blurb initially had me sweating a little but I kept the faith. Then a couple of my trusted buddies here on Goodreads assured me that once again, LLV pulled it off. I thought the amount of time it took for them to come to their senses was overkill, especially since there was noone else for them. I'd think if I couldn't move on after 10 years I would
have swallowed my pride and contacted my love. I absolutely loved Booth and Masen! Their devotion was something you don't see in many books and I appreciated it. I consider it a safe read as they were celibate during their separation. HEA and I look forward to future books in this series.

Gotta say, I'm a devoted Lani lynn Vale fan but this blurb makes me nervous!

Even though I liked this book there were some things that bug me like 30% of the beginning of the book he was being a asshole he was really pissed at her I don't get really why when he was talking to his brother he thought about leaving the h before she broke up with him and how he was telling the h not to be mean to his wife even tho he was already divorced and hadn't told the h yet and I didn't like the h saying she wish he gave her a chance to grovel and beg for forgiveness but he should've ask for forgiveness too IMO. also he let the exwife sleep on his house the day before her wedding and yes I know they never slept together but this woman was naked in his bed the h saw her she got mad I too would've been mad if I saw a woman naked in my boyfriend's bed I also wouldn't want to lay again in that bed. But like I said I liked it a lot they were both celibate I liked booth after he stop being a asshole

Firefighters!!! Soliders!!! Need I say more??? Oh I do? Well alright.

Masen and Booth have quite the history. They've loved each other for years - even after they've been apart and involved with other people. Masen has loved Booth since she was 16, but events happen and she pushes Booth away when she needs him the most.

I will admit in reading the book's synopsis, I wasn't too excited because I thought there would be cheating since Booth and Masen were both involved with other people. But I'm so glad I read it anyway! There's no cheating and the book was just fantastic!

Sadly I did not enjoy this as much as I was hoping to. It gets one extra star for having both the H/h stay celibate throughout their 10 year separation. That is so very rare in romance books and I jump on any book that has that.

A couple minor complaints..

1) I didn't buy their reason for their 10 year separation. I found it to be so stupid and I didn't like how the H just took the breakup and didn't even try to get back together. The h immediately regretted her harsh words and called him, left messages, and even wrote letters throughout the years but nothing from the H. I honestly would not have minded if she actually had moved on.

2) Why oh why was Emily naked in his bed? The h came home and found her naked in the H's bed it was never explained what the fuck she was doing there. Did I miss something? It was the day before her wedding day and she had to spend it there? Naked on his bed? That was totally unnecessary and stupid.

“I’ve loved you for so long that I don’t even know how to love someone else.”

Just as surely as the calendar flips forward to start anew each month, the first week of each month fans of Lani Lynn Vale get her next book. This month Vale takes us back to Kilgore to see the next member of the Kilgore Fire Department get his happily ever after. This book is already causing a bit of a stir as there is concern because the hero is (was??) married. With unwavering conviction, I can unequivocally state that Lani Lynn Vale will NEVER, EVER give her readers a hero who cheats. So, go ahead and read this book, but do it knowing that there are lots of different reasons people marry, and some of those reasons have nothing to do with love or attraction but everything to do with compassion and empathy.

“My heart was literally breaking into a million tiny pieces.”

As I started reading this book, I knew before the prologue was over that I was hooked in deep with Booth and Masen. Masen was in high school when they met, Booth is the only man she’s ever loved, and Masen is it for Booth. Their relationship came to a head at a point where everything was crashing down on a young Masen who, overwhelmed by her feelings and her fears, lashed out in a damaging and irreparable way at Booth while he was overseas in the military. The relationship may have ended, but the love sure didn’t.

“I had what I wanted in my mind and no one else would do.”

Fast forward ten years, and Masen is lonely, she thinks she’s ready to try to move on, and she’s started seeing Bowe, a fireman who works with her best friend Mia’s husband, Tai. He’s a great guy, the whole package, but she’s just not feeling anything more than friendship. She gets the surprise of a lifetime one day, when she arrives at the firehouse to find Booth there. Immediately drawn to each other, their moment is cut painfully short.

“The cries tore out of my body… as the last ten years of torment poured out of my body in huge, shuddering, pain-filled sobs.”

These two put each other through the wringer before finding their way back to each other. My heart broke right along with Masen’s in that living room when Booth pushed her away. I felt her pain, I felt her sadness and I felt just how tentatively she was going through the motions of living her life in the wake of that night. All of the pain that Masen was feeling leads up to an epic moment, though. Gah! I just loved how that scene played out! It was fraught with raw and angry emotion, it was painful and real but oh-so-necessary for these two heal from their past mistakes, to forgive each other and then take a step forward together.

“I’d prayed for this day. Prayed that one day he’d come home, safe and sound, and he’d listen to my apology.”

As they rebuild their relationship and restart their lives together, there’s danger on the horizon. Curious things are happening to Masen and her family. Not everyone is who they seem to be, and the danger to Masen is closer than she realizes. Will Booth figure out who poses the threat to her?

“Thank you for coming home.”
He chuckled, “You were here. How could I not?”

I adored this book! The Kilgore world that Vale has built is one of my favorite fictional places to go, and this series is very reminiscent of her other series that are rooted here. Favorite characters from those books make appearances, and it’s always great to check in with the SWAT guys. This book had all the things I love most about Lani’s work – the emotion, the longing, the love between the characters and that sizzling, smoking chemistry and blistering heat that makes an LLV book so uniquely hers. It’s all here, and it was fantastic!

Lani Lynn Vale never fails to make my heart hurt and send my pulse racing. Her writing always draws me right in, it’s like talking with a group of old friends. But what makes her work special is her sense of humor. Dry and smart, her quick wit is often unexpected but always well executed, and it’s one of my favorite things about her books. I loved every minute of this book, and as always, Lani left me wanting more. Flash Point gets 5 smooches from me!

5 firefighter stars!!! Lani Lynn Vale never disappoints!!

I won’t lie, I’m a huge fan of Lani’s books! So I knew I’d like this book, but I never expected to become so invested in the characters the way I was! I fell in love with Masen and Booth. I mean how can not fall in love with them! You’ll find yourself rooting for them and cheering them on. And when you aren’t doing that, you’ll be fanning yourself from the heat overload!!! Another great book by Lani!!

Sweet, second chance love story

I loved the storyline but the underlying suspense didn't come together at the end and make enough explanation. I don't want to spoil it so it's hard to explain. The reason why?

I got real tired of Masen's wishywashy attitude toward her relationship with Booth. She comes across as tough and independent, except when it comes to this.

Booth is just a plain overachieving jarhead. He applies as a paramedic/firefighter and part-time medic for the SWAT team when he first comes home for good plus he's doing security work on the side!

I love this author but this book didn't compare with her previous books in some way I can't quite identify. That being said, I will always auto-pre-order her books! She's had so many 5 stars for me that a 3.5 is just a blip.

So this is how it goes. Masen and Booth dated for a couple years before he is deployed. Her sick sister is dying and Masen lashes out in fear and breaks things off with Booth. He is broken and remains gone for many years. He returns years later to the small town of Kilgore and their paths cross. They are still drawn to each other. They fight the feelings, try to work issues out and of course, have drama to deal with as well. Like a wreck with a deer and a psychotic neighbor. This book seemed to double up on the "save the heroine" aspect. I didn't feel that was really needed. Now my spoiler I also didn't like the Emily story line. From her first words of "hey hubby" to her naked in bed. Why?

I also took issue with Masen. She drove me a little wonkers at times. She seemed very impulsive and immature. I know she's is portrayed as strong and a little rough around the edges but it ground on my nerves by the end of the book. And the end of the book? I didn't find real humor in the flower girl/ring bearer debacle. Her Black Friday (both in the beginning and end) was not amusing. I don't know...Masen just came across as self absorbed to me. Everyone move out of the way so she can get her damn coffee maker. So Masen wasn't my favorite heroine and Booth was your typical possessive take charge alpha male.

I do love reading this book series to see the SWAT guys pop back in.

All in all, Meh..I liked it.

I was hoping that after the way we are introduced to Masen and Booth at the end of Shock Advised that Flash Point would be as hot as the definition in regards to a fire would be. While it did have it’s hot and explosive moments I had really been hoping for more.

I wanted Masen and Booth to become explosive together, I wanted that snarky feisty girl we were introduced to in Shock Advised to make Booth work for it and not just only begin to light that fire between them but for it to form into a full on inferno but she tuned out to be a spark that didn’t really ignite. Don’t get me wrong, I did like and enjoy Flash Point but I didn’t feel that soul deep connection between these two that the author was trying to show us that they had. I liked the second chance aspect of the storyline and that they were able to reconnect and get back together but something was just missing. I don’t know if it is the storyline with Booth and his situation with his ex-wife or if it is just me personally but I just didn’t feel that this one worked as well as previous books have.

Overall Flash Point was an enjoyable read that did provide this book whore with more than one laugh, had me feeling emotions from sadness to happiness, and while it wasn’t my favorite it is still one that fans of Lani Lynn Vale should read.

This is the second book in the Kilgore Fire series. You don’t have to read them in order. But you really should read all of Lani’s books. She is one of my must read, no matter what, authors. I have loved every single book.

Booth and Masen were a couple when they were younger. They did love each other, but Masen was eighteen at the time and Booth was deployed. She needed him. But when on deployment, you can’t just drop everything and come home. Masen ended things. She wasn’t mature enough, or ready, for this kind of relationship.

This is a great second chance book. I really liked Masen when she was older. I love her smart mouth. I love Booth too. What he did for his brother’s girl, was a great thing.

Believe me, you want to read this.

And of course the intros to the chapters are great!

Booth and Masen were in love and planning there future as young adults. Booth had joined the military and was away on deployment when Masens sister died. Masen didn’t take this well and lashed out and broke up with Booth. She tries calling and mailing letters and emails to apologize but a response was never received. She tried moving on but never could always comparing everyone to Booth.

Now Booth is out of the military and took a job with Kilgore fire.

Now I’m gonna tell you he downright pissed me off in the beginning. But he did make up for it by the end.

Masen had a little issue where she was kidnapped by a crazy person but Booth came to the rescue.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A second chance romance that I read with pleasure
It's not my favorite because there was too much drama between them (the separation misunderstanding, the "fake" wife thing ...) but not enough out there (where are the crazy ex ?? ) but it's still a good read for fun !
I was a bit hesitant to read this because of the blurb but I persisted and it didn’t turn out so bad. I enjoyed booth and masen’s story, but I did feel like it got a bit repetitive in the middle. All in all it was a pretty good read, now on to the next book!
There’s no other person for Masen Crisfield than Booth Jones and the feeling is definitely mutual, but sometimes fate as well as free will breaks soul mates apart and forces them to struggle through life on their own, facing the consequences of hurtful words and abrupt actions. But despite the time and distance that existed between them for almost a decade, Masen and Booth’s feelings for one another have never dissipated, leaving them both to wonder if there was any chance, now that they’re once again in the same town, to get back what they had all those years ago, mending the broken pieces of their hearts and souls.
After reading the synopsis of Flash Point, I was uncertain how Lani Lynn Vale was going to give Masen and Booth the happily ever after they both desperately wanted all those years ago, but I should have done that in Vale’s world, things are never quite what they appear to be and once truths are revealed and the past is dealt with, the flame that’s always been between Masen and Booth is free to ignite once again, allowing their feelings of love and lust to spark and burn brightly.
Masen and Booth’s story is a bit different than Lani Lynn Vale’s other stories because there’s a history between them that must be hashed out before a future can be explored. Despite that component of Flash Point, though, the same themes of love and loyalty resonate off of the pages, and as always, there’s a suspenseful storyline that allows clarity to be reached in terms of what the main characters are willing to do for each other in order to be together forever.
The Kilgore Fire series as well as Vale’s other series illustrate the camaraderie of her alpha heroes and the strength and gumption of her heroines to fight for what they want, and while Masen may be a bit of a hot head and react before she thinks everything through, there are times in Flash Point where that reaction actually allows Masen and Booth to say what needs to be said and then find a way to move past it together, which is never a bad thing when it comes to two people who are destined to be together.
Booth and Masen were made for each other. That's the only way to explain the chemistry, the draw and the love between these two.
She fell in love with him when she was just shy of 17 years old, once he enlisted things stayed the same until one fateful day when everything came crashing down on Masen at once and she did the unthinkable.
She broke up with Booth over the phone and not in a calm manner. Unbeknownst to her, she ripped Booth's heart out right before a mission.
I wanted to hate Masen at this point, I truly did, but her state of mind at the time of Booth's call made it easier to swallow.
Thinking their relationship can be fixed she waits for his arrival at the airport only to come face to face with his brother who was always good her her now looks at her with disgust and tells her he volunteered to stay,
"You broke him, baby girl," he said. "Now you get to watch while he tries every trick in the book not to leave the place alive."
Talk about breaking your heart? That right there did it for me.
Ten years later Booth is home and about to start working with both the SWAT and Kilgore Fire Department when he comes face to face with Masen.
Regardless of the years and pain between them she rushes into his arms and it seems like nothing ever changed.
Until a voice behind her saying hey hubby sends her running away.
Booth isn't ready to deal with Masen so he doesn't tell her the truth about his "wife" instead letting her think the worst.
They both fight to move on and to avoid each other but there's a pull that cannot be denied. No one will ever fill that space in the others heart, without their other half they can never truly be happy.
Now it's up to Booth and Masen to see if they can overcome the past and move forward together or go their separate ways.
I loved Booth's story, I really don't think there's anything Lani Lynn Vale could write that I wouldn't adore. The characters have a way of digging themselves into your heart quickly and a story line that hooks you in the first chapters and refuses to let you walk away until the very end.
Masen and Booth have been in love with one another for years. When her sister dies and Booth is away at war Masen writes him a “Dear John” letter leaving Booth confused and more than a little heartbroken. Now after years of no contact and trying to get over each other they are back int he same hometown. The only problem is they still love one another and have never stopped. However Masen has a boyfriend that she just started seeing and Booth, well Booth has a wife.
That plot line alone is enough to make you go “What!” I really felt for Booth in this although there were a few times I wanted to slap him. He lashes out at Masen because of the pain he still carries. Masen also left me feeling for her because she did what she did all those years ago out of pain and grief. She knew she made a mistake but never knew how to correct it and if these two thought they would get on with their lives then they were wrong. I mean you can’t put someone in your past when you both have your relatives keep tabs on the other and when a voice reaches out to Booth from beyond the grave the decision to come home wasn’t so hard. As they work through their mountain of baggage Masen is being stalked and Booth might not make it to her in time.
As always Lani Lynn Vale has given us a set of characters that draws us in and leaves us breathless! Booth and Masen were both wonderfully written and I know that months from now we will be screaming for an update. The story behind Booth’s wife just goes to show the kind of man that he is and made me fall that much more in love with him. While Masen had a strength about her that few women have even when she feels like she had nothing left to give.
I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, pain, secrets, and heartbreak.
Before reading this story please read the below books first
Shock Advised (Kilgore Fire #1)
This is Masen and Booth’s story. These two were in love until Masen broke it off while Booth was deployed. She needed him but instead of leaning on him at the hardest point in her life she pushed him away. In the years since they have rarely seen each other. Now he is back in town and working at the fire house for his brother. The chemistry between these two is off the charts but one is married and the other is in a relationship. But are the relationships they are in really just smoke and mirrors? Now they must decide what they both want and how it will affect all the people involved. Can these two fight for their love and finally get the happily ever after they have always dreamed about with each other?
I loved these characters and also the side characters. There are some tear filled moments and some anger filled moments in this story. But all in all I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
I highly recommend this book.
