Emma Miller has always had to fight. As a woman on a small town police force, she had to fight against men who didn't take her seriously. Then later she had to fight against these same men when she witnessed police corruption and spoke up about it. Now she has to fight for her life against these crooked cops who are out to silence her. The big guy assigned to protect her is tall, fierce and handsome. But he's a Bear Shifter, and she knows not to trust his kind. But her heart tells her otherwise. Is this a fight she can win?

Jace has had to guard all sorts. Men who deserved to live, men who deserved to die. The job was the job: the client comes to Big Paw Security, and the client gets protection. But of all the saints and sinners he's kept safe, none of them hated him for what he was. This new client was something else, but Jace understood the need to put up a tough face. As they say: every rose has it's thorns.

This 11,000 word short story features a Happily Ever After, No Cliffhanger and lots of graphic primal hotness. I've attached some free stories after it as my way of thanking you for checking it out!

This is a short story of a dirty police department trying to destroy a whistle blower who reported the dirt. She needs to be protected by shifters and neither side trusts or likes the other.

While I liked Emma and her partner Sgt. Franklin, I did not feel as though they had time to develop as characters. Most of the focus of the story was on the dirty cops and Emma (the whistle blower.) The story moved very fast. I felt as though I was dropped in the middle of it and had to quickly figure out what was happening. For everything that was happening in the story, it needs to be a lot longer so the plot can be developed so that it is plausible. The romance between Emma and jace was not believable. There was an attraction but the story is too short to make me care about them. I was more worried that Emma come out alive than in love.

I would like to see what Becca Fanning would do with a longer story. She did grab me with her writing. She needs to go longer to develop her plots and characters.

I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
**SPOILERS**. Emma is a cop working alongside her partner, Franklin, against a corrupt police force that is filled with officers who are, as far as she can see, all murderers, and doing illegal deals. Unable to allow this to continue Emma decides to bring her fellow officers to justice, however as you can imagine they are none to happy about this and her life becomes in danger. After her partner is shot she ends up seeking the assistance and protection from a very unlikely source, shifters, who she never thought to trust before. However, she soon realises that she was mislead and finds herself not only completely safe but also very attracted to one of them, Jace, who also seems to reciprocate the feelings and things soon start to heat up between them.
As with all Beccas books the romance and love scenes are second to none and the storyline was action packed from the beginning. I was totally engrossed and found myself reading the entire book in one sitting, as is quite often the case. I would definitely recommend this book and the whole series.

Emma Miller is a cop in a small town and has never had an easy life, but it just got much harder when she witnesses corruption by her colleagues and then reports it. Now they are trying to silence and frame her and she needs some protection - but can she move past a prejudice she has been schooled in by colleagues for years?

Jace is a bear shifter and is assigned to protect her. Oh and he is also tall and handsome. This is the first client he has ever come across who seems to hate him for what he is, but can he keep a check on his feelings about that and do his job?

A nice short story with plenty of action and drama as Jace and Emma struggle to survive against a crooked police force.

Emma turned in several of her fellow police officers for killing an innocent man. The only person who has her back is her partner, Brock. The rest of the precinct has plans to dispose of her. Brock provides her with information to seek out Big Paw Security if things go bad, as he warns her.

Emma had a bad experience with a shifter and the shifters do not get along with the police. Jace has no time to be protecting a police officer but there is something different about Emma. A short and action packed read.

I loved this book...Emma is the good girl who does the right thing and is thrown into the corruption of others. When her life is put in danger for speaking up, she is forced to seek out protection from the very men whom she was led to believe are criminals. Jace takes one look at Emma and decides she has it in for shifters...but he is in charge of her safety, regardless. Finally the two cone to a head and the fireworks are spectacular.
This is my favorite from Becca so far. I will continue seeking out more from her. Quick story but with a solid story plot.
Honest review for an ARC copy.

I was given a free copy of this book for an honest review

I really enjoyed this book. It was a easy read with a lot going on. I kept moving the pages right along to see what was going to happen. Jace the bear shifter was great and Emma the police officer and protector. The good guys won. I liked this so much I'm going to get the first two in the series to catch up. I'm looking forward to reading them.

Not All Are Criminals

She in trouble with corrupt police for telling the truth. Her partner sent her to a shifter protection agency because he trusts them. She not sure she does. This is a quick entertaining read. Enjoy I did.

Kindle Unlimited, bio says enjoys writing 'smut', this was not smut, it was trash; no real plot, no character development, cardboard characters, fill in the blank {bad} stories, 70's porn music in the background fighting with wannabe 50 shades of grey and twilight nonsense. 'Romance' is not graphic sexual situations, and especially not those that are as graphically detailed out, for lack of anything actual worthwhile to put in to the 'story'. For actual writers usually list other books; for this type just name 'writer' Becca Fanning not bloody likely, will take the time to rate all the trash out though.

garbage bin 3 of 6 rot and crap all around
