Horsemen #2

Sous la protection du vampire

Rate this book
Fuir !

I have just recently found out about the book give away's here on Goodreads, the give away for this book was one of the first few I entered.

I was surprised when I was told I had won a copy.

I got my love of reading from parents, especially my mother who until a few years ago read Harlequin Romances almost exclusively. Over the years I have read many as well. When they came out with the Nocturne Books I was very happy. I love Paranormal Romances.

This book is the second in a series, so I had to read the first one first. It's a rule.

I enjoyed both books very much. The plots move quickly while at the same time letting the characters grow. I like the fact that vampires and werewolves get long for the most in this world, that both are able to work with humans.

I am not very good at writing reviews with out giving to much away. For me the fact that I have already bought the third book and marked on my calendar when the fourth book is coming should tell you that I find the books worth what limited time I have to read and limited resources to buy.

I am a big fan of the public library. When I find a book in a bookstore that I think I might like, I will most often borrow it from the library first and then if I really like it I will buy a copy. Many of the authors and series I enjoy ( buy) started with me borrowing the first book from the library. There are just as many authors and series that while I enjoy them I only get from the library because I don't like enough to spend what little book money I have on them.

I admit I tired to find the first book in this series at the library. I could not, so I bought the e book copy.

I enjoy the books so much I will buy a e copy of the second book so that I can have all the books in the same format.

So I am putting my money where my mouth is. I like to keep my series in similar formats when I can.

I won this book in a Goodreads First Reads giveaway and I'm really glad I did. I could rant and rave about this book for a good long while but for the sake of not giving away anything, and boring you, I'll try not to get too winded so hopefully you won't overlook this review.

This was a great book, I could have read it in a day or two if life hadn't gotten crazy. I was hooked from the very first line. It's one of those books where you just have to know what's next. You are put RIGHT into the middle of this whirlwind that Bree is on with her sick son and when they meet Mark it gets even more complex. The characters are very likeable and relatable. You feel what they're feeling. Bree is a strong single mother fighting to protect her son and Mark is a man trying to atone for his past by healing those in need. And little Jonathan melts my heart. This book has action, a little bit of mystery and of course, the romance. All a good combo in my opinion. I've never read anything by Sharon Ashwood before but I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more of her books, and the rest of The Horsemen series.

I just want to say.. wow... i had not yet read book one but being that this is the second book in a four book series i was hoping i hadn't missed too much but as soon as i started right away this book was action. i personally love and need a book that starts off with action in intrigue that will always keep my attention and this book had that.. the plot was great, the characters very relate-able for the most part (:)) and some characters were just too funny! i cant wait to read the other books in this series!! Sharon nailed this book!! loved every action packed, or sweet heart grabbing moment of this book! well done! cant wait to get my greedy little hands of the other books! i know others that llike to read about awesome women, and the stead-fast men(in this case vampire ). very heart warming to see a man with a dark edge come to believe there can be love again! i just loved this book!! will deffinetly reccomend to friends that like this sort of paranormal/romance/action setup!!!

I found this book to have lots of heart-warming emotion, adventure and fast-driving plot to keep me more than interested. The novel starts with the heroine Bree Meadows desperate to save her son and on the run from enemies and that won’t stop to try and get him. Fate rushes her into the domain of Mark Winspear, doctor, vampire and member of the fabled La Compagnie des Mortes. The passionate and independent Bree doesn’t want Mark’s help and he doesn’t want to be a protector. However, fate has other ideas for our lovers. Circumstances pull them persistently together to solve the mysterious illness that plaques Brianna’s son before time runs out. Ashwood has done a tremendous job with the characterization in this novel. This book is a great fusion of romance, intense passion and excitement blended with just the right amount of paranormal!

Possessed by an Immortal by Sharon Ashwood was not at all what I expected when I read the synopsis. It was much better. I loved that it wasn't a simple Harlequin romance, and was unique and definitely a page turner. From the start there was adventure, mysteries behind identities, twists in the stories, and a new passionate genre of mine, a little of the paranormal, oh and did I forget romance! All in a one book. From start to finish I was captivated. I can't wait to read more of Sharon Ashwood's books and recommend to others who enjoy the "Intrigue" label to do so too. Thank you Sharon for opening this up as a giveaway and giving me the opportunity to increase my interest in the paranormal romance genre.

I enjoyed this one much better than the first, Possessed by a Warrior. I liked the way Mark changed from a recluse with an expensive car he cherished to...cherishing other things that were more important to him. That had always been more important to him.

Kudos to Sharon Ashwood for this one.

I really enjoyed the second book of Sharon Ashwood's The Four Horsemen series. This book focused on Plague, a.k.a. Dr. Mark Winspear, doctor and vampire assassin. He has met his true mate and her young son. Bree and her son have been running for their lives ever since her friend and employer, Jessica Lark, was murdered. Bree and her son have been infected with a vampire virus and the little boy is dying. Can Mark find a cure and keep both Bree and her son safe from the Knights of Vidon.

Book #2
Another fun read from this author. You don't have to read the first book to understand this book or the characters. Set in the same world and a group of characters, but focusing on a different lead. It was a nice paranormal romance with some adventure in the mix.

Can't say that romance is my chosen genre, and I can't really contend with vampires anymore - they've been done to second death - but the story was well written and undoubtedly good fun for anyone who does like that genre.
