Sadie Warren is a walking contradiction. The confidence she wears on the outside is only to cover the scars that are imbedded on her soul. Coming out of an abusive relationship where she was stripped of her security and confidence, she chooses to bury it under every man she gives her body to. After one intoxicated night that she will never remember in its entirety, everything begins to change. Being seen more for her positive attributes and less for her faults, Sadie arises from the dark and into a place she feels safe. But with that comes a chain of events that blur the lines of everything she thought she needed and everything she's beginning to want.
I have a mad passion for books. It could be considered an addiction by some. After the responsibilities of work and being a mother are fulfilled each day, I escape in a book. I hope you all will enjoy what I can bring you. I have plenty more ideas to go from here.
Oh my word! That ending, well I wasn’t expecting that, totally different place to where I actually thought it was going. How long before the next one? So Sadie, cute, beautiful but broken or so she thought! I loved her sass, for the most part it seemed that she had her life under control, until a certain young man comes into her life. She has some terrific friends, mostly boys but there were girlfriends too. Just loved Heather. The boys were all Adonis’s and were always looking out for her, just like brothers would. The other characters, Sadie’s friends really enhanced the story, it flowed well the pace was about right, nothing was going too fast nor was it dragging. Although this takes place around cage fighting it doesn’t overbear the story That certain young man, Colt… where to start. He is quite selfish although he was honest and open about their situation. Was I a little pissed off at him? Yes I blooming well was. I really wanted her to wake up and smell the coffee, but she never did. He’d go AWOL quite a bit and she just accepted it. Although her friends could see what was going on between her and Colt, not one of them tried to intervene, that was until Tony came onto the scene, her and Tony had a connection and he wasn’t worried about hurting her feeling when it came to giving her some cold hard home truths. I do hope she gets what she wants and deserves not sure who is the right person to deliver it though.
My head is spinning and I just can't seem to gather my thoughts into anything coherent to say about this book. So if it's sounds like I'm rambling, I'm apologize.
This book was a ride of emotions, fun, and partying. Kinda reminded me of my twenties. The characters were great although, (don't hate me) I really don't care all that much for Colt. He just rubs me the wrong way with his double standards and his manslut ways. Something just isn't setting well with me. Ok, Sadie, Sadie, Sadie. What can I say about her that will not get me to start on a tangent with her? Oh yeah, I love how she is with her friends when there isn't a guy (Colt) involved. She's funny and loyal. However, I didn't like how weak she gets with Colt. I really was pushing for a different outcome at one point but things just didn't pan out. The secondary characters are some of my faves...Mike, Tony, Bryan, Shawn, Heather, Jason, etc. Ok, I'm sure you're wondering why (this is why I mentioned the rambling) my review seems so negative but I have a high rating. Well, I love when characters drag me into the story and I get such an emotional reaction. It just proof of a great story that will leave you want more. I need the next installment like yesterday. I am dying here after that cliffy ending.
Lost reads like diary entries of a young woman on the road to self-discovery. It’s honest and relatable to that first time we truly believe we found love. When that one enters into your life and leaves an imprint on your heart and soul forever. The one you think you can’t live without.
When Sadie Warren meets Colton Jennings you will be holding out for a hero. This book will own you and not let go. I held my breath every time Colton appeared on the page.
I fell in love with all of Sadie’s friends. They all stand beside her and support her without judgment as she stumbles and falls yet stands right back up and learns from her mistakes.
We all want to be accepted, chosen…. to be the one. This story is relatable tale of love, heartbreak, and avoiding the truth we are not ready to accept. We hold out for love instead.
Through the laughter, tears, choices and consequences... Lost is a story about the journey of life.
Sadie is a strong and beautiful woman that knows what she wants and goes after it. Colton is a man that is trying to live his second chance at being a college student, you know sowing your wild oats. What happens when the two who want completely different things collide? Hearts that get stretched to the limit of what they are willing to give. This book is powerful, amazing and filled with a passion and heat for life and love. It will have you spinning. While you will admire Sadie for her bravery and strength you will want to smack some sense into her. Colton? Well, You are gonna have a very strong relationship with him.... A love hate relationship that has more whiplash to it than any other book boyfriend in your library. A rocky love that is gonna have you begging for more! Barbara never fails to impress with her writing and her imagination. I loved it and can't wait for the next installment!
Well, I shouldn't be surprised at how much I loved this book, but I wasn't really sure what to expect given that the first part of the book somewhat annoyed me with the how Sadie and Colt were acting. By that I mean they're all into partying, which is normal for their age range, but it just seemed excessive to me. But this is how Sadie "medicates" herself after her previous relationship that and sleeping with different men.
However, now that I've finished the book, with a MAJOR cliffy, I understand that this is just how all of them live their lives... I also know that Sadie and Colt could definitely have a future together because there's so much more than what we've gotten so far. Seriously at the end of the book I snorted and was like WTF? Now what???
Lost by Barbara Speak is great. Definitely a page turner it had me from the start.
From Sadie trying to find herself to Colt wanting to experience everything he missed out on when married. It's a rollercoaster of a book and that's just half of it.
But you will want to smack them both or just kick them there is a lot of WTF moments with Sadie and colt. The end OMG I need to know what happens next. I can't wait to read more get sucked in from page one of the next book.

4.5 Stars! This book was a flash back to the lives of many young adults...complicated relationships, fun, uncertaintly and a circle of great friends. We experience the rollercoaster of a relationship between Sadie and Colt, each unsure of what they truly want. Barbara definitely doesn't disappoint in creating characters you can envision being friends with, and equally annoyed with the decisions they make. Leaves you longing for "Torn"!
Wow!! What a rollercoaster ride of emotions! While I am totally rooting for Sadie and Colt, I don't know who I want to slap more. Lol. Her for always going back to him or him for stringing her along. Anyway.......the book was very well written and the story flowed effortlessly. It was definitely a flash back to my college days of "devastating" loves and friendships. I look forward to the next book.
You are going to fall in love with this series. You may want to save yourself the heartache and wait for the box set to come out. Sadie & Colt are going to leave you with so many questions of what is going to happen next. Barbara Speak always leaves you with an ending where we always want more. I am still holding out that Sadie will chose the right man for her. She deserves to be treated like a princess.
I thought this book was incredible. It sucked me in and I didn't want to.put it down. Sadie is trying to find herself. Colt is just getting out of a marriage and wants to experience everything he missed out on. The chemistry is explosive between these two. A great read. I can't wait to see what happens next.
Ok, I want to knock some sense into both Sadie and Colt. They are totally made for each other, but need to get their act together. Sadie has other options, but her heart seems to be set on Colt. Colt needs to get his head on straight and realize what he has in her!!! Also dying to find out what secrets he is hiding...
I have to say that Colt and Sadie annoyed me to no end! These two are so immature, Colt more than Sadie.. Do people really act like this? Colt has a-lot of growing up to do before he is ready for a relationship.. and I'm positive he has some juicy secrets he's keeping. Will Colt get it together and realizes what's right in front before it's too late?
I love this book what a roller coaster of emotions yet another amazing book from a amazing author loved every min and what a cliffhanger the end is xxx
Dam woman!! I need to know wtf is going on!! Hopefully they will get it together, love Colt..then i wanna punch him!Yes,you got me hooked... uumm, now gimmie Torn!
When Sadie Waren does something she does not do it half way!! Growing into your own can be tough but the upset Sadie goes through is enough to break anyone.
Have you ever met someone that was right for you but you met them at the wrong time in your life... Sadie does a hell of a job making a go of something fun, but what happens when the proverbial shit hits the fan? And what could he be so sorry for?
As a revision of a previously released novel this is so much better and really keeps you hooked!! Beware the cliffhanger and all the feels!!
I loved this story , It had me going the whole time , it was so exciting ! I love Sadie , Colt , and their friends just awesome! The ups and downs , the everyday life . I could of finished in one day no problem there, lol... its that good i didnt want to stop reading..lol !
