James has been working in development in troubled spots for many years, when he suddenly meets Ioana, a friend of his daughter Rebecca. Ioana is older than his daughter and has a mass of auburn hair and lovely sparkling brown green eyes – at least they were after she met James. James is a widow but Ioana has never been married after an unhappy relationship with a boyfriend in Canada, and decided she has some catching-up to do, but passion turns into love and then they find many pitfalls and obstacles in their path. James’ work is in a remote area of a war torn country, and Ioana insists on accompanying him, where their love for one another and their passion which unfolds keeps punctuating the story. Tissues ready please, as this is another Happy Ever After.

A beautifully written romance, and something of a travelogue of Sri Lanka. I was sorry to see this end, I would have liked to see more of how the rest of their lives worked out. Simply lovely, and also quite erotic.
