This author presents a plot that moves the characters to a HEA but really needs much more work….leaves lots of questions. Needs more world building, more conflict. A promising start but needs attention.

Rescued by the Space Marine is a truly stunning journey of two people who never anticipated on finding a very unexpected yet precious gift. While this is a shorter story then the last one I read from this author, it doesn’t take away from the power of it in the least. The words of this book will penetrate your heart in ways you never imagined. Once you open your heart to this wondrous journey, it will not let you go without changing you in ways you never dreamed of.

Illary has spent most of her life living in a healer’s temple, but most of that time has been anything but pleasant. She longs for family like she once had while she looks after her younger sister. Her heart doesn’t dare to dream because it knows the deep disappointment it will find since she is unable to willingly leave her temple, so she goes through each day just trying to stay alive out of sheer will. Then one day, her whole life is turned upside whenever she is grabbed up by Xun and taken to his ship. It seems that family hasn’t forgotten about Illary since Xun has been commissioned to find her and her younger sister and deliver them to their eldest sister Kelsey. While battling one delay after another, Illary refuses to lose hope that she will reunited with her family. In the meantime, she finds that perhaps meeting Xun was not such a random surprise after all. Is the Universe trying to finally rain down some long needed blessings upon Illary, or is she being setup for the biggest disappointment of them all?

My heart hurt deeply for the life that Illary and her sister were forced to live. No one should have to be resigned to that cruel of a fate. Thankfully, fate sometimes sees it in its heart to right even the most egregious wrongs, and when it does it is something we can never refuse. Xun came along at just the right time to not only rescue her physically but to also rescue her emotionally. He brought her hope when she had none, but he also brought her something she never imagined possible. No matter how much you try to fight and ignore it, your heart knows what it wants and what is best for you. Even among the danger they faced, Illary knew that to push this gift away would be to her own ultimate detriment.

Taylor Neptune has once again proven that she can pull every heartstring that you have. She can reach into your very soul and uncover dreams that have long lay hidden even to yourself. Reading this book was such a true pleasure that cut right to the core of my heart. Experiencing her power as a true fashioner of words is something that is not to be missed.

What can i say about Taylor Neptune except that she is good at her job!!! Her Alien Warrior Brides series is AWESOME!!!! I love it when she starts the book out with the female in her predicament and then the men come in and rescue. Damn, these aliens are so handsome and well built I want one to come rescue me. Taylor takes you on a trip through space where aliens live together in space and they fight just like we do on Earth. You feel the emotions of the characters in the book and you follow them through time and space. Where she gets here names I will never know, but I think she has a gift at coming up with names that actually could be Alien. AWESOME!!!! You must read.

Illary and her younger sister 'Suyana have only known a life of seclusion, their gifts held hostage and forced from their hands. Illary is enormously powerful, but the temple coordinators have kept her controlled by barely feeding them. When Father Alois shows a wicked "side and tries to get Illary to have sex with him by lying and telling her that it time for her 'naked lessons." she becomes desperate for an escape from the temple. She begins to make plans for her and Suyana to escape and join the rebel Pachakutek's stronghold.

Xun is the space marine who has been sent to rescuer Illary from the temple. When their ship is attacked by the Alhmanics, they are split from Xun's regiment and Illary's sister, Suyana.

Xun and Illary must rely on each other in order to make their way to Intara to meet Kaley, Illary's older sister is wife to the God Prince of Intara. But when space pirates attack the space station, Xun must fight to protect Illary. Will they die inside of a remote space station or be able to complete their journey?

No spoilers. You will not be disappointed. ARC free book given for honest review.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
** SPOILERS** After realising that one of the Fathers at the temple has rather naughty plans for her, Illary decides that its time for her and her sister to escape the temple where they are being held captive, little does she know that her other elder sister, Kaley, has already sent reinforcements to rescue them. When Xun, the space marine and his Regiment sent to rescue Illary and her sister, meets Illary he is instantly attracted to Illary but knows that there is no place in his life for romance as he is totally focused on his career, however the more time they spend together the more they become attracted to each other. Even more so when Xun and Illary get seperated from Illarys sister during an attack from space pirates, therefore putting them alone together to grow ever closer where they realise the depth of their true feelings for one another.
This has to be my favourite book yet, it was very emotional and was very touching. I absolutely loved it and couldn't put it down, I loved Xun, he was a strong, caring take charge man, and really looked after his woman.
I would without a doubt recommend this book, I have really enjoyed this series, long may it continue.

Illary and her sister have been trapped by the invaders to their planet and used as healers. They are given little food and punished for the smallest offenses. They live in hope of escape. Their oldest sister was able to get away.

When their sister arranges for their rescue, it does not go exactly as planned. Xun is a skilled warrior and has to use his talents to keep them safe. The most dangerous part of their mission is keeping it just business. They have a strong attraction for one another but acting on it would lead to serious consequences.

This is the part of a series but does not require you to read the other books first. You do get enough background to jump in without any issues.

I liked Illary and how she stands up for herself and others. She takes her responsibilities seriously. Xun is a good guy who wants to do his job well but personal feelings make it difficult to stay on mission. They make a good couple.

I received a copy in return for a honest review.

Another little gem from Taylor Neptune

Illary and her sister Suyana are indentured healers. Kept as prisoners in the temple they dream of escape. When a team of space marines are contracted to get them out, Illary finds herself on the run with Xun, one of the men entrusted to keep her safe. Xun makes sure he guards her body, very carefully. As they develop feelings for one another, can they overcome the many obstacles they face? Of course! Taylor Neptune delivers another bubbly story, intriguing storyline, and some super sexy scenes in this latest instalment of this series.

Illary is a healer. She and her sister are imprisoned inside an Alhmanic temple. They need to escape this cruel tyranny. Suddenly deliverance arrives. They are rescued by the space marines. Are they ready for romance and adventure? I loved this fast-paced, passionate story. Illary is an innocent who is drawn to Xun. He felt the same pull. Their desire for each other pulled me into their romance. I wanted them to overcome all the obstacles that kept them apart. These characters have such strength and determination. I loved Taylor Neptune's creative imagination. The fantasy settings were the perfect backdrop for this story. I enjoyed the romance and loved the HEA. I can't wait for more.

I loved the book. Fast pace but good. The main characters were introduced in a timely manner. Could have had more details on both. But over all a very good read. This is one of those books I wish was longer because it has such a good story line and definitely could have gone on longer.
