3.5 stars. The story is interesting, and the contrast between the character's life in Australia and Singapore is well-drawn. The conflict didn't really intrigue me. It may have been the length that didn't work for me though - I wanted it to be either shorter with fewer subplots, or longer so these subplots could be explored properly.
