He's a shifter gang leader. She's a halfling on the run. And the Wolf Hunter has just declared open season on them both.
Marco Wilding’s pack is being picked off, one by one. The Wolf Hunter’s mercenaries are snatching wolves off the street then dumping the tortured bodies inside Marco’s gang territory. When they go for a shifter kid, Marco’s patrol is on it – until a beautiful female wolf steps in and kicks the kidnapper’s ass. The delay saves the kid, but Marco can’t stop drooling over this brave, unmated female who mysteriously landed in his lap.
Only she wants nothing to do with him.
Julia Holloway’s life was finally turning around – she was getting her degree and getting out of her mother’s house with its parade of abusive step-fathers. Then her wolf went wild and ruined her life. Now she’s on the run, but her wolf is still out of control. When it once again tries to save someone, this time a kid who was being kidnapped, she gets an offer she can’t refuse –safe harbor inside a shifter gang while she gets her life back on track.
Only the hot shifter leader with the passionate eyes wants a mate… and wants her to stay.
As Julia and Marco race to stop the Wolf Hunter’s men, Julia will have to do more than just tame her wild wolf… she’ll have to decide whether giving up everything she wants will bring her the one thing she really needs. WILD ONE is a complete novel with HEA, the fourth in the Wilding Pack Wolves series. All stories are standalone, but for maximum reader enjoyment, start with the River Pack Wolves trilogy. Contains scorching hot shifters, alpha heroes, and sexy halflings. Only readers over 18 should dive into the dangerously hot world of the Wilding Pack Wolves.
Another great shifter book. Marco who we meet in the previous book, and a new face in Julia. Yes, there's insta-love and she's my mate stuff, but there's also a kidnapping and chasing the bad guy. We do get to see Grace again. The Wolf Hunter really is a nasty guy, and I can't wait till they catch.
Oh boy, this series just keeps on getting more intriguing! This is the fourth book in the Wilding Pack Wolves series and the focus this time is on the urban shifters, living in the largely derelict areas of Seattle and led by their Alpha, Marco Wilding. He’s just the sort of Alpha you’d like to meet - caring, protective, strong, insightful, intelligent and, of course, attractive. He’s also immediately attracted to the feisty female fighting to protect one of his youngster pack mates but she’s on the run, she can’t control her wolf and doesn’t know who to trust. She’s also attracted to Marco but doesn’t trust what she suspects is instant lust. Marco makes her an offer she can’t refuse - a safe place to stay whilst she works out what she wants to do with her life.
As the two get to know each other, pack politics come into play, there are rival packs to contend with and, of course, the Wolf Hunter is still on the prowl and seems to be focussing on Marco’s pack. Packed with dangerous situations, hot love, pack politics and angst this is a great addition to the series. As the Wolf Hunter continues to kidnap and murder shifters, the need to stop him becomes imperative for the shifters. Can this help bring them together to fight a common foe? Will Julia tame her own wolf and agree to be Marco’s mate? In these difficult times, is there any chance for the shifter communities?
This is another page turner that I couldn’t resist reading as soon as I had access to it. It is a riveting series and one where I can’t wait to read the concluding novel yet dread doing so as that will mean the series has ended. I really hope the author will be taking us back to revisit both the River and Wilding Pack wolves in future novels! I have no hesitation in recommending both series to anyone who enjoys action packed paranormal adventures with hot alphas and romance.
Thanks to the author for gifting me an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Alisa Woods creates yet another amazing story with the fourth book in the Wilding Pack Wolves Series, Wild One. Shifter gang leader, Marco Wilding, is trying to stop the Wolf Hunter from attaching his pack. He comes across she-wolf, Julia Holloway, while she is trying to help rescue one of his pack’s children from the Wolf Hunter’s men. His wolf thinks she might be “the one," conversely; Julia wants nothing to do with him. This contemporary shifter PNR is appropriate for new adult and adult audiences. The story takes place in Seattle.
Alisa Woods continues to do a wonderful job with both her plot and character development. There is a lot of background to both Julia and Marco. Both characters grow through the story and have excellent chemistry. They both have a not so great past. They both are strong, smart, and excellent leaders. They care for others and have big hearts. I like Marco’s next in command, Stephan and Isabel. They are remarkable characters that add to the narrative and struggle. Cruz is a fascinating rival whose motives are not assured adding excitement to the tale.
The plot was cleaver and unique. I love how the story connects with the other books in the series but has a distinctly different feel. I love the ending. You could follow this story on its own, but I would highly recommend reading the books in order starting with the River Pack Wolves Series then the Wilding Pack Wolves Series. All the novels are exciting, uniquely different, and fast reads. I cannot wait for the final book in the series, Wild Fire.

Marco Wilding is the young alpha of a werewolf pack and the Wolf Hunter is picking of his pack members one by one, torturing them, filming them and then dumping their bodies inside the pack territory. When they go for a shifter kid his pack is on it until a beautiful female wolf intervenes and kicks the kidnapper's ass. The delay saves the kid but Marco can't stop drooling over this brave and unmated female even though she wants nothing to do with him. Wolf shifter Julia Holloway's life had been turning around as she was getting her degree and getting out of the oppressive environment of her monther's house and the parade of successive abusive step-fathers but then her wolf went wild and ruined her life so he is now on the run even though her wolf is still out of control. This time as she was trying to save a kid she is given an offer she can't refuse - stay safe in a shifter pack while she gets her life back together. The only problem is that the hot alpha needs a mate and wants her to stay - can she decide to give up everything she wants for everything that she needs?
I really enjoyed this story with Marco Maating his mate and having to teach her how to control her wolf as well as coax out of her the story behind her and what she was. It was also good to see how the pack managed to work on becoming more of a family as well as find a new path forward. A bit of a shock as to the new information we had on the Wolf Hunter which was a bit of a surprise. Well written, easy to read and understand and quite addictive. Contains some explicit sexual content.
Super lust filled. Political and violent this time around ( though it's been a bit since I've read the others). I eyerolled a lot but normally enjoy these. It may just be me this time.
This was an intense read that had me wide-eyed so many times, I forgot to blink. The action, the race against time, the heroics, the near misses, and a wonderful romance woven in altogether made Wild One an awesome read.
This story is about Julia and Marco. Marco is a character that I was briefly introduced to in Wild Heat. Like the other two books I read and reviewed, this book can also be read as a standalone. This is the kind of series that I like – I can pick up any book and feel like I’m getting the complete picture, with so many intriguing teases from previous stories, I actually want to read them, even if they’re out of order. It all works.
Another thing that works is the pairing of Julia and Marco. She’s running, unsure of where her life is leading, and Marco is fighting to create a place where shifters can have lives worth living. He’s a hero because he truly cares and wants to help every wolf shifter – from little kids to the elderly, that society has ignored and shoved to the outskirts, just because they are who they are. Marco is perfect hero material. Julia is in her own way, too. She is selfless and she throws herself into any situation she believes in 100% even when she’s outnumbered and outclassed. She’s feisty and ferocious. In short, she’s a perfect heroine to match the hero. I enjoyed getting to know them.
That dastardly villain, The Wolf Hunter, has ramped up his villainy. This time, he’s crossed the line by targeting kids. The really whacked thing is that he hates shifters in an obsessive kind of way and if a reader has read Wild Heat, they’d know why it’s so twisted. The Wolf Hunter has issues – Marcos made me laugh when he referred to those ‘issues’, even while he was being brutally tortured. That might be a bit much for some readers because his torture was being witnessed by some kids that were going to be the killer’s next victims. Readers can be assured that the author took care of the kids when the time came. I think that drama is what made this book so powerful and compelling. This is the type of wickedness that needs to be defeated, and heroes come to the fore from unexpected places. Ms. Woods surprised me with who ended up helping in the big battle scene towards the end. I was most impressed.
The romance between Marco and Julia was great. It wasn’t fast; there were some mix-ups and some personal trials and challenges they both had to overcome while trying to keep everyone safe. Their budding love grew over the course of the book and when they finally came together in passion, it was hot, hot, hot. One thing I didn’t share in past reviews of the other two books was how the author has the hero and heroine mate. I’ve never read anything like it and it’s clever, unique and quite awesome. And, I can’t forget to mention sexy, it’s very sexy.
The happy ever after wrap up was just as impressive, positive and happy as I could wish. There are challenges yet to face for the Wilding pack and all their allies. I’m looking forward to reading the next book and finding out who gets their HEA next. If paranormal romance readers haven’t discovered this series yet, they are missing out. I’m so happy to have a new favorite author to binge read!
Fierce and feisty Julia, can she handle bad boy Marco Wilding?
Marco Wilding is young to be the alpha of his pack, but he and his Beta had to take out the previous Alpha because he had abused his position and the wolves in his care. This bunch of displaced, neglected, abused, unemployed wolves and halfings with no place to go; are fighting for their very survival on a daily basis from the police, rival gangs and shifter haters. But now they are fighting to protect the pack members from being kidnapped by the Wolf Hunter who is trying to snatch their kids right off the street.
Julia Holloway has a secret and is trying lie low until she figured out how she is going to get her life back when leaving the local market she sees a young boy is about to be kidnapped. She rushes to save the boy with no regard for herself or thought that they would try to take her. Her only thought is to save the boy. As Marco and a few of his pack are running to intercept they see this young woman kicking the crap out of the guys wearing tactical gear.
I really liked this book in the series and loved the direction the story took. Characters are pulled in briefly from previous books so it is always good to see where things are. The ending was brilliant and creative. I do love my HEA's. All I can say is plan ahead because you will not want to put it down.
Marco is a shifter gang alpha. With a big pack of orphaned to elderly couples, Marcos wants to keep his pack safe from the wolf Hunter. While on patrol one of the kids is trying to be kidnapped when a unknown female jumps in to help out, while doing so she gets tranquilized. Marco takes her back to the shelter to find out what she is doing in his part of the city. Julia is hiding from her past. She's unsure about Marco, but her wolf is howling for him. She is unknown to her wolf because no one taught her about her wolf. Well Marco wants to help her, and his wolf is howling fir hers as well. Can these two get it straightened out between them. Can they fend off the attacks and kidnappings the Hunter has set out for them? Need to read great story line. Great series.
Reads like the sections were written at different times and then put together but not given a re-read before publication. So many repetitions of things being told by the narrative and then repeated by the characters, information being presented at convenient times, so much handholding of the reader it went beyond annoying to just hilarious.
Sex was pretty meh too. Oh, and the entire story takes place over the span of two weeks, where one week is a time skip for... a business endeavor after the main plot is finished. The actual plot is about 2-3 days. They go from strangers to deeply in love in 2 days.
Could definitely use some proper beta reading and an editor that would address the repetition issue.
Julia is starving and hiding away but not when someone is kidnapping a child. Marco is an alpha of a Seattle intercity pack and gang. The gang is doing the things gangs do but behind the scenes it is caring for the homeless and disenfranchised. The werewolves are trying to stop a group that is killing werewolves and putting the snuff films on the internet. Well-written with well-developed characterization makes this a stand alone adult novellas. Mystery, romance, action, thriller and of course werewolves.
Marco Wilding is a gang shifter pack alpha. He takes on every wolf that needs a home but had to do things illegally sometimes just to keep them in food. Julia Holloway just found out she was a shifter and had a hard time controlling it. She tries to save one of the kids in Marcos pack and they come together after he talks her into staying. Not adventure, not romance, got read.
Might be a spoiler but I’m gonna let you know. It does end on a some what happy note but there are still unanswered questions. Our hero Marco & Julia are going to get married traditional but not in this book so there is one more story to read somewhere. Also the Wolf Hunter did get away so there’s another story. This was a good read but plenty of little side stories that will lead to more reads if you want.
Liked the story. The fight against hatred and bigotry. Which is common and seemed to hold a thread of reality as the man behind the evil was a wolf himself. Julia and Marco were awesome. They fought for the underdog and protected the weak. Loved their fire. Only didn’t like Marcos back and forth but I understood his predicament and confusion to protect his pack. Cool story.
Marco and Julia are an unlikely pair but they find love in the midst of another devastating act by the Wolf Hunter. The story follows the tenuous willingness of Julia to even stay with Marco’s pack through stages that transforms them and the pack’s business. The story is engaging with the romance being a catalyst in the story rather than the whole story.
Sexy shifter bad boy and gang leader, Marco Wilding, meets brave and tenacious halfling, Julia Holloway when she rushes to save a young shifter being kidnapped. Things get heated between the two very quickly but is Julia willing and able to be what Marco needs or will her past continue to keep her on the run?
Not a fan of Marco thinking he use another women to help his lusting after someone else he cant get as of yet. Nor that woman not being with actual mate until Marco finds all this out. Left a sour taste. Having said that, love Julia's smarts and guts once she was able to handle her wolf...go woman power!!!
Another great book in the series. The book flowed smooth & fast, kept me on the edge of my seat in a few places too! Marco & Julia are very likable (love how the bad boy really isn't a bad boy after all!), I was so glad they got their HEA! Gosh, that dang wolf hunter needs to get taken down!
Continue with the crazy wild wolf killer and Marco is estranged from the wilding shifter family, helps catch one if the younger wolves from being taken while a she wolf helps save him
The characters in this story are engaging and so easy to fall in love with. The story itself is truly amazing and so descriptive it was like you are there. The book is very hard to put down, I read it straight through.
Love all the characters as well as the plot which is a strong one. One of the best Wolf shifter reads i have read so far. Has everything you need for a good romance novel.. Can not wait to read further novels in this series..
This is the first book I read of this series. I am going to start reading from book 1 onwards now. The dialogues were funny and witty. Finished reading this book in one sitting, can't wait to get my hands on other books in the series 🙌
This is Marcus and Julia’s book Mucus is the young Alpha of one of Seattle’s street gangs. Julia just lost control of her wolf and killed her mom’s abusive boyfriend. She’s on the run and stumbles into Marcus’ territory.
Boom another awesome story for the books! Still so close and still yet so far to catch the wolf Hunter! Sneaky man but his luck has to run out sooner are later!
