If you had to kill one person who would it be?
KILL SCHOOL follows sixteen-year-old Aria Nova as she explores her identity within a futuristic society that gives people permission to kill one person with a token. Medical science has enabled everyone to live forever, which produces an overpopulation problem. Since no one dies of natural causes, and to control the population problem, each person between the ages of sixteen and eighteen must kill someone. A life for a life.
When Aria receives her token, she is shocked to find out that it is enables her to kill one of the four governing Regulators. The Regulators are in charge of her community and have never been in the termination pool. Once in training camp, affectionately called Kill School, Aria hides her token's secret from friends and enemies alike.
In camp, Aria learns how to strangle, shoot, or poison a person—skills she will need to carry out her termination task. Through the support and protection of Camp Counselor Burke, she learns more about the Regulators, a little about love, and family secrets destined to destroy or save her.

It was mostly because of my father, who wrote so much that he could not leave his study without an avalanche of papers following him. In fact, the only piece of furniture in the study was an old leather sofa. The rest of the room was full of books and bookshelves. It was on this sofa that I spent many hours honing my craft, even after he was gone.

KILL SCHOOL might be targeted at Young Adult readers but it would be a grave mistake for adult readers to ignore this book.
The characters are realistic and believable. The setting is fascinating and well crafted. The action never stops and emotions run high. This book is an edgy look at both the good and bad that everyone carries inside themselves. Its a non-stop thrill ride that will leave you begging for more.
Imagine living in a world where science has so altered the human genome that a natural death (one from either age or disease) no longer exists; a world where barring accidents or acts of violence, a person can literally live forever.
Sounds like heaven, right?
Well, I guess in a way it is. But, people were never meant to live forever and there are many problems that could come about because of human longevity.
What could be so bad about everyone being able to live forever?
Well, since most of Earth has become uninhabitable, people are confined to living in Greenland and there is only so much space. Too many people living in such a small area would easily deplete their resources, so a unique (and quite effective) solution to potential overpopulation is put in place.
Aria is the main character in KILL SCHOOL. She has dreaded her sixteenth birthday ever since she was old enough to understand what would happen to her on that day.
On her 16th birthday she receives her "token" which tells her what the age is of the person she has to kill.
Of course she does not want to kill anyone, but refusal is not allowed. To refuse is to meet a fate worse than death.
Aria is sent to "Kill School" along with other 16 year olds for a four week training camp. It is there that she will learn everything she will need to know to make her required kill.
But not everything or everyone is what they seem and Aria gets caught up in a plot that just might change the entire world.
My first thought after reading "KILL SCHOOL: Slice" was "Wow!"
My second thought was: "When can I get my hands on the next book in the series?"
And, thirdly: "Who do I have to kill to get an advance copy of book two?" (Yes, pun intended)
I rate this book as 5 out of 5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and can't wait to delve deeper into this twisted dystopia.

I couldn't put this book down!! It usually takes me about a week to read a book, but I read this one in just two days because I was captured from the beginning. It's so amazing. It kind of reminds me of The Hunger Games with a little bit of the Uglies series, except this book is way better than either of those. I'm not even kidding. I love the plot of this so much, and the characters are awesome. I really can't wait to read the next book in the series!
Now that I have raved about how awesome this book is, I should probably put a disclaimer here to mention that this book is not flawless -- I even went back and forth over whether to give it four stars instead of five. It could use another round of editing to clean up some errors, mostly often in the form of words missing from sentences or the wrong word used, probably as the result of a simple typo (e.g., lunges instead of lungs). In the end, the story itself was so amazing that giving anything less than five stars would be criminal!

3.5⭐️ — Very good — Worth reading!
I didn’t expect to enjoy the book this much, and it was a good surprise. I think the characters were well constructed and believable, and the most important, I got in love with them.
The funniest thing is that while reading the book, twice I found myself listening to people discussing what would the world be like if we cured all the diseases and no one would die of natural causes... So I guess the author really has created something that might make us think about the troubles ahead of us.
So if you never heard of the author or the book, give it a try!

A dystopian Young Adult novel full of surprises and new concepts - that is what Kill School: Slice was for me, it is difficult to find words to describe and conclude what I felt while reading it. So let’s start with a small overview of the plot.
In this world no-one expects their 16th birthday, on the contrary it is a very dreadful day everyone is afraid of. “What colour will I get” is the only questions children are concerned about, “Will I get a green emerald or a blue sapphire or maybe, for the worst of cases, Will I receive red ruby?”
This futuristic society, where human DNA was modified to the point that it allowed people to live for a very long time without worrying about dying from illness or old age, which ultimately gave every person an order, a permission to kill to control the population.
Aria Nova was about to turn sixteen and was just few days away from receiving her token and her burden. Who will she have to kill? Who will be her target? How can she go through with it and keep living her life?
This book was like nothing I’ve ever read before. The story seemed so unusual that I had to request this book. And I am so happy that I was among the few lucky ones to get my hands on it!
I loved the concept of the book but also, as soon as I started reading, it kept my attention till the very end. I remember only reading 15% of the book and I was already recommending it to my friends. My exact words were: “I am only starting and so many things already happened!”. The words I was looking for at that moment to describe this novel were: engaging and action-packed.
It was better than watching any action movie!
We got to see so much of the world and story behind it, way more than teenage cheesy romance that almost every YA novel is packed with, that I really appreciated. The romance was subtle, it was just the right amount of it considering the circumstances the characters were at. Who could think about cheesy-gooey stuff while learning how to kill, while dealing with death, grief and panic? Exactly! Our main characters knew better than that.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for a review and it was simply amazing. Anyone who loves Hunger Games or Divergent series or The Maze Runner should definitely give this book a try. I truly believe this is the next big thing, can even imagine it being adapted to a movie (something I definitely would watch as a true lover of dystopian movies). So get on the hype train before there is a hype train!
P.S. I will never look at gemstones the same way as I used to..

Kill School
I was incredibly impressed with this book. When the author first asked me to read it I had hesitations because I didn't really want to read a book about kids murdering people, but after just a few chapters I was hooked.
I think what I like most is that this author isn't afraid to make you hate a character or push some boundaries that people might have issues with (killing babies and such) but when you think more about it, that is what makes the book more believable.
I have so many theories in my head right now about what is going on that I can't even control them. Basically I need to know what is going to happen to Aria and I need to know now.
The way she developed different moral compasses really makes you think about our own society, are you more like Aria or are you more like some of the less moral characters. There was a moment where Aria was talking to her friend Vanessa that really brought it all home for me and explained the importance of this murder based society.
It was my pleasure to have been given this book to read by the author in exchange for an honest review. She has a way with words that was extremely impressive.

I honestly never thought that a book can be that interesting! It usually takes me around a week to read it but with this book it just seems like I couldn't put it down. I wanted to know whats on the next page, next chapter. I have to say I was a little bit skeptical when I read the prologue but the moment I started reading I was transferred into a whole new world. World of imagination. The book is written in easy to understand English. It gives your imagination a lot to think about. Kids killing people might not be the first thing you want to read about but trust me the moment you read the fist few pages you will be hooked. Definitely a book to have on your bookshelf. great job !

A much more interesting book than I thought it would be. This was a fresh take on the YA Dystopia fiction. If you are a fan of the Hunger Games, this will interest you.

Unique plot
The whole book was very well written and flowed smoothly. I have never read anything where kids go to a school to learn to kill people so was unsure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised by a refreshingly unique story.
Throughout, the main character Aria was a relatable and realistic teen, as were her friends, but I wanted more of Burke. I cannot wait to read the next in the series and see what happens to them

Excellent book!
I loved this book! I can't wait for the next one! I need to find out what happens with Burke and Aria! I was very surprised how well this book was written! There were a few misspelled words but nothing that would distract me from continuing to read because it was that good of a story! I need to know what happens next!

I was lucky enough to win this book for a review. I had this book on my TBR when I was notified I won it! I really enjoyed meeting the characters and their plights. This was very Hunger Games like, based on age of participants and futuristic feel. I'm hooked and will definitely read the rest of the series. I have already recommended this to a few people.

I really like this book. Can't wait for the rest in the series. It's Hunger Games meet Divergent. The whole story was very compelling and adventurous.

Fantastic book.
I have enjoyed this first book in the series better than any book I have read this year. I find the plot very believable and the characters are as real as my next door neighbors. I highly recommend this book to all readers of GREAT Sifi.

I love this book! I am reading it a second time as the sequel was just released and I wanted it fresh in my mind.
The concept is not new, but the method of control certainly is. As such, it has become an excellent story.
