This is the third book in The MacDara Chronicles series (the first two are "Overcomer - The Journey" and "Overcomer - The Battle," respectively).
A child of 6th Century Ireland, Cian MacDara has traveled through time to present-day Connecticut in order to fulfill his destiny as the Defender of the Balance of Time. The year of his birth, along with the reason for his journey across the ages, is a secret known only to a few.
Taught to use both the Sword of Light and Excalibur, he has already banished an eternal being to a place of darkness.With the continued aid of Druids, angels, and access to the Hub of Time, Cian is now being trained to keep humanity's Timeline from being corrupted by the evil Baal.
In this third book, he prepares to make his first foray into the past, where he must use his skills as a swordsman against a human army. But first he must accept who he is and how carrying out his destiny will affect his heart, his very essence.
To help him through these deep inner struggles, he has the love of Celeste Kelly, the friendship of angels, Celeste's friend Katie Grandol, and a new friend, Reagan Thompson, a young man with a secret of his own.
In this first part of the "Defender" section of the series, more is revealed about the extent of Cian's destiny, while the Darkness steps up its game in an attempt to stop him from succeeding.
Cain's success or failure will be learned in Book IV, "Defender - First Strike," scheduled for release in March of 2016.
