4.5 Star Review The Lighthouse Secret (Amelia Moore Detective Series #7) by Linda Weaver Clarke

This was a new author to me and although book 7 I had no issues in following this story as each is a new mystery. Although I believe it would be beneficial to read the previous books to see how the relationship between Rick and Amelia has grown.

I listened to this book on audible and was invested right from the start, The narrator did a good job with all the voices which made for an enjoyable listen.

This was a a book filled with secrets and lies. The intrigue and suspense, not to mention the danger kept me on the edge of my seat as I listened to this story.

I liked the main characters of Rick and Amelia and to me they were perfect for one another. There were many twists, turns and surprises in The Lighthouse Secret as Amelia and Rick follow the clues and I have to say that I was taken by surprise on a couple of occasions.

This was a good romantic suspense book and when time permits I will seek out other books by this author and narrator.

The Lighthouse Secret by Linda Weaver Clarke is about a mystery that has the Bonito family grieving for a missing relative that they have thought was dead for the past five years.

Can Amelia and Rick find Antonio, Rick's uncle, before someone else finds him? If he wants to be found?
Amelia and Rick are off to find Rick's uncle, Antonio, as they have no clue if he actually did die or what had happened to him. These lovebirds are a great team of finding out certain parts of the cases that they are solving. I am sad that this is the last book but these characters are great at finding out what has gone in these cases. Not only that but they are great as love interests. They are also good at taking what has happened to them at certain points when they get in a bend. Especially when Rick teaches Amelia a new self-defense trick.

The Case
Amelia and Rick are trying to figure out what happened to Antonio. He just disappeared five years ago and now Rick is trying to figure out what happened to his uncle. It's a mysterious case that I was having a hard time figuring out why Antonio did what he did. Though is he alive or isn't he? That is the major question. Along with why he has been in hiding for so long and what is he afraid of? That is if he is alive.

4 Stars
The Lighthouse Secret by Linda Weaver Clarke is another fantastic case for the Amelia Moore Detective Agency to solve. I loved reading about this series and I am a bit sad that its the ending of this series. I am giving this book 4 stars and recommending it.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy from the author. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Each book in this series can stand alone, but the reader will miss out on the relationship progression if they're read out of order and that is half the fun!

Amelia and Rick and newlyweds and co-workers. They squeeze in a personal case when they decide to find out what happened to Rick's uncle, who went missing five years earlier. I love the way these two work together to solve cases. Amelia thinks outside of the box and Rick livens things up. Rick takes pride in naming the cases and this one was a no-brainer when they tour different lighthouses, looking for clues. Their banter and the way they complement each other is a joy.

I'm sad to hear that this is the last book in the series. I always enjoy the unique settings and love getting a taste for different places. The mysteries are always cozy--no graphic violence, blood and gore, or strong language. The suspense is present, but not too gripping. The romance is sweet. This is a great series for those mystery lovers who enjoy their books gentle and easy.

Content: very mild romance and violence. Clean!

The Lighthouse Secret: another Emilia Moore detective Series by Linda Weaver is a great mystery and light romance. I have enjoyed all the stories in this series and have come to expect a great read and have been satisfied with the results.
This time Emilia, now married to her investigator, Rick Bonito, has the assignment to find out how Rick's uncle, Antonio Bonito, died in a diving accident five years earlier. The problem is that Rick's uncle was a top-notch diver. As the couple investigators follow the clues, they face threatening calls, are followed by an unethical private investigator, and it is all in the name of justice.
Nice twists and secrets are revealed in this story to make it shine from among the others on the market today. It is a clean story with many good morals entwined between the pages. The characters are sweet, generous, loving, and full of integrity in all their dealings, quite a change from double crossers that seem to be the main story lines in most detective stories on the market. All in all, the Lighthouse Secret a great read and worthy of becoming Adults and Young Adults next favorite.

Amelia and Rick have a new case--and this time it is personal!
I love the relationship Amelia and Rick have with each other and visiting his family enriches their relationship, but as they delve into the circumstances of his missing uncle things come out that no one knew. And they soon find out that they are not the only ones looking for Rick's uncle. The race is on as each side tries to find the truth.
Such a FUN READ! Thoroughly delightful!

Audio Version

Linda does it again - this one is just as packed with good clean fun as the others. A nice little mystery and a sweet little romance rolled into one book.

Let me start by saying that I love the cover on this one! My favorite cover of this series so far. I love lighthouses and have been to several on the east coast and the Great Lakes so this story had great interest for me. I like the way the author keeps a lot of the same themes going through the whole series. Like their bucket list, they talk about it and add to it in every book. Staying overnight in a lighthouse B&B is definitely on my bucket list. Another theme that continues is Rick's passion for food! This is hilarious and very sweet. I am a vegetarian and I love good healthy food, so I share his passion, but not always the same foods LOL.

Another continuing theme is Rick's little mystery within the book that he is working on by himself. I really liked this one and got so "into it" that I almost forgot about the big mystery! When he solved his little case and the book continued - I thought "Oh yeah! The book's not over!" LOL
The actual mystery that this book was about was great as well - I really had no idea what had happened right up until the end.

Another part of this book that I really liked was the 50's style restaurant and Amelia dressing up, what fun! For my "Sweet 16th" birthday party I had a 50's party and everyone dressed up. It was great!

Audio Review - Well I have to say that this reader is finally growing on me! I didn't like her at first but I don't now if she is getting better or I am just getting used to her, but I like her now!

I voluntarily posted this review after receiving an audio copy of this book from the author - Thank You!

The Lighthouse Secret is the seventh cozy mystery in the Amelia Moore Detective Series written by Linda Weaver Clarke. This story begins sooner after Amelia and her partner Rick Bonito return from their honeymoon. Before starting into a new assignment, the couple investigate the supposed drowning of Rick's uncle, Antonio Bonito. Uncle Antonio's accidental death never sat right with Rick or his father because he was an excellent swimmer and his body was never found.

Like in prior Amelia Moore books, Amelia and Rick experienced some local sightseeing and crossed items off their "bucket lists" (things they'd like to enjoy during their lifetime). This time they visited several lighthouses and spent the night in one of them, and they flew in a water aircraft. Having taken several tours of lighthouses in the Portland, Maine area a few years ago, I was very envious of the lighthouses Amelia and Rick visited!

As I've mentioned in prior reviews of books in this series, I love how Rick and Amelia complement each other in their strengths and weaknesses, as well as compliment each other often with kind words and encouragement. They remind me a lot of husband and wife detective team from the early 1980s TV series, Hart to Hart. I am truly sad to see that this is the last and final book in the series.

I listened to the Audible version of this story narrated by Diane Lehman who did a wonderful job. In short, The Lighthouse Secret is a delightful listen! I definitely recommend this series to those who enjoy sweet cozy mysteries.

Each time I listen to a book in this series, I think it can't top the last one. But Linda Weaver Clarke, with her magic and characters of Amelia and Rick keep me entertained from start to finish. This story takes us on a personal journey to find Rick's uncle who went missing five years earlier. Though he was presumed dead, there was never a body found. In true Amelia Moore fashion, this couple digs into the investigation only to find that others are looking for him too. Who will find him first? And is he still alive? The history of lighthouses in this story had me fully engrossed, as I found it really interesting. I love when an author includes information like this, it makes the story that much more plausible. I also love the adventures that Rick and Amelia get to take. A houseboat for a while, a friend with a plane, there is no end to their network and places to go to. This like the others is a must listen and you will not be disappointed.

The continuity of the same narrator makes this series that much more enjoyable. Diane Lehman provides such great voices for Amelia and Rick, right down to Rick's singing. She makes the story come to life.

I think this book may be one of my favorite in the Amelia Moore series. Lighthouses fascinate me and it is my ultimate fantasy to live in one. I think that is why this book appealed to me so much. I thought the story was well-thought-out, and it was interesting to meet Rick's family in this book. I appreciate that this is a family-friendly book (no sex scenes or bad language), but sometimes the romance seems a little "too-sweet" and the characters feel a little hard to relate to. It is still a very enjoyable book, and its fun to read about Amelia's "old-timey" movies that she likes to watch and share with Rick. Each novel can stand on its own, but I have enjoyed reading about the progression of Rick and Amelia's relationship throughout the series. I listened to the Audible audio version of the book, which I received in exchange for an honest opinion. The narrator, Diane Lehman, does a good job giving unique voices to each of the characters. If you like ultra-clean, cozy mysteries, this book (and the entire series) is a great choice.

I find myself at a disadvantage LOL (but in a fun way), as I started out with the LAST book in the series! :) :)
However, I still LOVED IT! So good! Now I'm going to have to go back and listen to all others, and this one again at the end.

Such a fun and easy listen, perfect for my loooong commute :)
Loved the story, Linda did a beautiful job. Amelia & Rick are great characters! The great narration by Diane Lehman really brought a great story to life.

I was interested from beginning to end, as Amelia & Rick investigated a mystery surrounding the death of Rick's uncle. A good swimmer should not just drown. Get to know this duo as they work to uncover the truth.

I've always liked lighthouses, so this story was especially cool. I'm anxious to discover more and listen to other books in the series.

A great finale for the Amelia Moore detective series. I've read the entire series and enjoyed watching Amelia develop as a detective and the progression of her relationship with, now, husband Rick. They've not only grown as a couple but this mystery involves Rick's family and we get more back story on Rick.
I really enjoyed getting to know Rick's family and Amelia's new place in it. They are very warm and welcoming. As Rick and Amelia search for his missing uncle, presumed dead, they trail him across the country learning more as they go.
Another involving mystery for Rick and Amelia. After reading the series it's nice to see them grow as a couple and I was even okay with saying goodbye for now. A very satisfying conclusion, wonderful series, one I will come back to visit again.

I received a copy from the author in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

This is the seventh book in this series. In this book Rick and Amelia are investigating the drowning of Rick's uncle five years ago. There are parts of the story that don't add up. He was a strong swimmer and his body was never found. His best friend who was with him disappeared shortly after it happened. As they investigate, they quickly learn that there is someone else trying to find out the truth about his uncle, too. If he's still alive, they need to find him first.

Rick and Amelia are still in their newlywed stage and Rick is a romantic. They work well together and each one uses their strengths to help solve the case. It's personal this time so they have a lot more invested in the outcome. This mystery takes us into lighthouses and that makes the story even more intriguing. I really enjoyed the book and will go back and read the other books in the series.

What a charmingly sweet tale! Intricate descriptions and a well plotted tale really drew me in while the unforgettable characters kept me hooked. I loved the feeling of traveling alongside the characters as they wound their way to the end, outwitting their opponents at every turn.

I love how she weaves the mystery throughout this novel, keeping the suspense ramped up while still making the story enjoyable for all. The mix of art, history and unique characters really made this an enjoyable tale for me.

As a whole this was a nice, clean story that drew me in on many levels. I'm sorry to see the series end, but this was also a great ending for it.

This mystery hits close to home. Rick mentions his uncle who has been presumed dead for the last five years but is he really? This one was a great insight to his family and seeking to right a wrong. I listened to this book on audible. Narrator did a great job of switching voices and causing me to feel like I was there with Rick and Amelia.

This is book 7 in the Amelia Moore Detective Series and as usual, the author delivers a delightful, fairly fast-paced tale in the pursuit of a missing person, for that's what Amelia's agency specializes in. This time it is personal, as Rick's uncle Antonio Bonito dies in suspicious circumstances at the age of 48. Amelia and Rick are on the hunt for an answer. But what do lighthouses have to do with his disappearance?

The reader gets a glimpse into the warm, lively Italian Bonito family that Amelia has married into. They seem to be ordinary people, but as in every family, there are secrets that gradually become unravelled.

Each of the previous six books in the series has revealed bits and parts of Rick and Amelia; this book is no different, as the reader comes to understand why Rick is so zealous about his gym appointments. And why Amelia savours being part of her new family. The character development is complete with this latest and last tale about Amelia and Rick.

The reader gets a brief education into lighthouses, their importance in the past and the interesting uses they have today.

I enjoyed learning about Palm Springs, California, the home of many Hollywood starts of the past like Elvis, Bing Crosby, Cary Grant, and Bob Hope.

I wholeheartedly recommend this cozy mystery. I'm going to miss Amelia and Rick, but wish them well!

I love Rick and Amelia! They are still in their newlywed stage and Rick is as romantic as ever. They work well together and each one uses their strengths to help solve the case. It's personal this time so they have a lot more invested in the outcome.

This book also has all the things that have helped me fall in love with her other books: the relationship between Rick and Amelia continues to strengthen, they run into sinister people who try to prevent them from successfully solving their case, they travel to a place that is fun to visit, and most especially, it's clean! This is the final book in the series and I'm sad to see it end. If you enjoy clean, cozy mysteries, this is a series you will want to read! I'm looking forward to seeing what Ms. Clarke comes up with next!

I received a copy from the author for an honest review. My opinion is 100% my own.

Rick Bonito's uncle supposedly drowned five years ago. To the family, it never made sense that would happen since he was such a strong swimmer. Amelia his new bride, and detective suggests they make it a case and find out for sure what happened. They unearth some heavy clues that lead them on an unexpected journey. Will the Bonito family be able to get closure on what happened all those years ago?

In an Oyster Shell - It was a classy conclusion to a wonderful series.

The Pearls - Reading this book was bittersweet because I know it is going to be the last in the series. I have really enjoyed the book and I think I can safely say this was my favorite book in the series. We get more of a glimpse into Rick Bonito's life and you see the man behind all the stories in the series, up close for the first time. This points to the wonderful character development the author has kept solid through the entire series.

I loved Linda's book! It's a great cozy mystery and for me it was awesome because she always writes about places that I know. This time her book took me to my old home in California, Palm Springs and as she described it, I could totally visualize it! Then they were headed to Ventura Harbor. I used to live in Ojai which is very close by and trips to the beach in Ventura were a remembrance of years past for me!

But aside from this, the book held my attention to the very end. My only disappointment was that this is book 7 and will be the last of this series. I loved this clean romance and the resolution to the mystery. I look forward to reading other books from this great author.

This review is for: The Lighthouse Secret (Amelia Moore Detective Series Book 7) (Kindle Edition)
If you like clean mysteries without a lot of suggestive language, this novel is a good fit for you. A married couple, Rick and Amelia who own a detective agency, work together to solve the case of the husband's missing uncle. I really liked the way that Rick constantly affirmed his respect for his wife and gave her credit for being the lead investigator. I was given a free copy for an honest review.

I had the honor to review this wonderful book for the author. These two people are truly amazing. You will fall in love with the characters in this story. The author will have you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next. You won't be able to stop reading this book. The way Linda describes the different places is so life like that you can almost picture what she is talking about. Amazing author.
