Elizabeth and Steve are strangers, whose lives are about to collide in a way that they might never have expected. Elizabeth is a talented piano player, performing before a large audience during one of the most significant shows of her career. She's miserable thinking about her boyfriend, Jason, who was supposed to come here this evening, but who ended up staying home and missing the big performance as a result of the fight they'd had just before she left. Steve, meanwhile, in the audience, is a billionaire, sitting beside his girlfriend Nikki, and trying to enjoy the show. The two of them have been growing apart for some time now, and he hates the ways in which she constantly tries to manipulate him and use him for his money. After complaining of her boredom for so long, Steve tells her to go home if she wants to, as meanwhile he stays behind to be continually swept up in Elizabeth's music. Following the last note played, Elizabeth's performance is met with a standing ovation, much to her delight and relief, and she stays behind for some time after to meet and shake hands with members of the crowd. Last in the line is Steve, whom she recognizes for his well-established fortune, and who asks her to go and get a drink with him. The night winds up being far more laced with romance than either of them had intended, and they find themselves forced to make some very difficult decisions when they become a little bit too involved with one another...
