A new cold war is forging a dangerous alliance between two of America’s oldest enemies. Both want to rebuild old empires; one with its bloody sword and the other by arming its proxies to do its fighting.
Iran is ready to retaliate against the U.S. for Israel’s attack on its nuclear facilities. Russia has the weapons to make the strike a success. Unless they’re stopped in time, Iran and Russia will soon be fighting each other for world domination when America is annihilated.
Unless one man recognizes the treachery and stops them.
As in his previous books in the Adam Drake series, Scott Matthews continues to write novels that could be coming straight from a news feed.
In this story, Drake is asked by the CEO of a large harbor and pier building company, asks to reassess the threat situation on their job site in Nicaragua. Since their arrival in South America, Russia has moved troops in and wants to have the harbor enlarged enough to accommodate the Russian navy
Between that, and drug cartel violence, you can add the presence of a Hezbollah training camp. The 3 entities are interwoven in a myriad of illegal activities. Drake and his team are constantly in danger and narrowly avoiding capture.
When the plot to attack America is uncovered, the team must stop it, with little to no help from the military or government.
Again, Scott Matthews has kept me on the edge of my seat and constantly wanting more. I'm addicted.
Definitely a case of the right place at the right time - especially for the DEA Agent!
This is the first of the series that I thought stretched credibility! But it was a good story for all that! I’m glad that Adam got Paul “out of the house”, even though Margot may not think so, ultimately.
(I still don’t like Elizabeth…)
This isn’t my favourite, but it’s not stopping me from pressing on. I listened to this using the Kindle Assisted Reader on my Alexa Device, not a terrible rendition. (I wouldn’t advise it on the Kindle App).
This was an intense, complex, suspenseful, and action packed story that will hook you from beginning to end. When Drake is asked to reevaluate a threat assessment for one of the security firms clients, he has no idea what they're walking into. With many different players working their own agendas, it's certainly not going to be the simple assignment that they thought it would be. A definite must read series. I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.
Adam drake is involved in another thrilling operation. Russia is becoming involved with Nicaragua and there is problems coming from that. They plan on a missile attack causing an MP for the United States. I found the characters very good especially Adam Drake. I like the plot another involves a lot of thinking and it’s very realistic. I would recommend this book for all thriller and action readers.
This is one of those "can't put down" books. Got a little confusing at times figuring who was who and what side were they, but still a read I'll remember.
Again, my only complaint as with the other books in the series, is the typos and context errors. This book isn't as bad as some of the errors. I wish the publisher had skilled proofreaders reviewing their publications.
A better plot, although the regular characters aren't getting much development. A lot fewer editing and continuity errors than the last book, but it's not perfect.
Another excellent story by Scott Matthews in the Adam Drake series. All the usual characters and a great storyline with plenty of action. Lots of twists and turns and plenty of hair raising moments.Looking forward to reading more.
This book is intriguing and full of action and suspense. It is a very realistic and possible scenario and follows the other books in the series very well.
