Noah Baker is about to meet the toughest woman in Texas—right before he marries her.
Harley Wilson, of the Texas Wilsons, is being stalked by an unscrupulous creeper who is intent on doing her harm. In order to protect herself, Harley asks Pamela Jones to find her a groom. She needs someone who can hold his own in a firefight and happily sign annulment papers when this nightmare is over.
Noah Baker thinks he’s hit the jackpot as a Billionaire Marriage Brokers’ groom. The position is the perfect opportunity to move forward and put the past behind him once and for all. However, Noah must dig into his training as a police officer and doing so brings up demons he buried two years ago when he left the force.
Time runs short for Noah as his list of suspects grows to include an almost fiancé, a twisted cousin, and Harley’s step-brother. With Harley’s father breathing down his neck, Noah finds himself falling for Harley in a way that makes this assignment as personal as—well, marriage.

It's interesting how a story can draw me right in from the first page and keep a smile on my face until the end. I love a marriage of convenience and this one has a lot of swoony chemistry as an added bonus. Harley is from a very well-know and wealthy family. When a stalker threatens her, it's decided that a round-the-clock bodyguard can best protect her and Noah is hired to marry and protect her.

For all her fame and fortune, Harley is genuine and sweet. She has a spunky streak, as Noah learns from the start, which gives the story a little spice. These characters become very comfortable and let their guards down with the reader, which allows for some vulnerability and I love that. Noah is amazingly human in all aspects of his life and that really drew me in even more.

I love the chemistry and passion that arises from this couple's interactions. I would have loved to see the characters developed even more, but I was completely satisfied. The element of mystery and suspense really added to the story and I loved the twists that kept me guessing and engaged to the very end.

Content: mild, swoony romance; very mild violence. Clean!

This is such a fun series! I like how they all have a similar theme, and yet are unique and can stand on their own. I actually missed book four, so I need to go back and read that one now.

Harley has a stalker that's getting more aggressive, to help protect her they decide she should get married. Hoping this will have the stalker give up, they go through the Billionaire Marriage Brokers where she's matched with ex-cop Noah Baker. Noah and Harley were a cute couple, great chemistry and had a fun story. I would have liked to been around for more of their "get to know you" conversations, but the interactions they do have are fun. I think the stalker aspect could have been played up a little more, I never felt a lot of suspense or felt a real threat. Overall, a fun read and one I'd recommend.

Content
Romance: Clean, mild kissing

Violence: Mild

This is the fourth book I’ve read in the BMB series. Each can be read on their own. I enjoy these books, though each is based on the same premise and is somewhat predictable, they’re still fun to read. I especially like that they are guaranteed to be clean. I liked the reversal in this one, where it was a groom for hire, instead of a bride. I loved that Noah wasn’t stand-offish or brooding. He was positive and sweet and level headed. Harley was tough and strong but still feminine. Fun, clean read.

Another great one!

This has the funniest first kiss scene I have ever read! Like, I was busting up, laughing out loud, and had to re-read it 3 times because it was so funny! The chemistry between the main characters is instant. He deals with some PTSD stuff but it didn’t get too deep into it when it could have been a lot darker. I kind of called who the bad guy was halfway through the book so it wasn’t a total surprise but it was a really great read. I enjoyed it immensely.

Harely Wilson is beautiful, sassy, rich, famous and being stalked by a creeper. They need a plan to either draw the creeper out to be caught or make them forget about her and move on. Fortunately or unfortunately (depending on who you ask) there is only one option. That option?! Get married! Harley has no desire to be married to a fake groom but it's the only way to keep her and her family safe and get rid of the psychopath once and for all.

Noah Baker needs to put the past behind him and make a fresh start with his life. What better way to do that than to become a BMB groom! He has been waiting for a few months for Pamela Jones to reach out to him for a bride. But when the time finally arrives he's not sure if he can do it or not. But one look at Harley's picture and he knows that he must do this. He just couldn't live with himself if anything happened to her because he was too afraid of history repeating itself.

From the very beginning sparks start to fly and there is chemistry aplenty between Harley and Noah. Harley does her best to fight it but even she isn't immune to Noah's charm. ;) But they can't move forward with where their relationship might lead until the stalker is caught. Noah has to stay alert and on his toes. He cannot afford even the smallest of distractions like Harley's smell, laugh or kisses. Harley realizes that she needs to be on her best behavior for her husband's sake. But once the stalker is caught?! All bets are off and she will not hold back when it comes to making her husband hers forever.

These two! *dreamy sigh* The Protective Groom is definitely one of my favorites in the series! I first fell in love with Noah while reading The Country Bride and by the end I was really, really hoping he would get his own book. You better believe I squealed like a teenage girl when I discovered he would! And his story did not disappoint! I absolutely loved it! So why only 4.5 stars? Yep.. you guessed it. The book just ended! An epilogue would have been perfect! I am dying to know what Noah ended up doing with his life when all the danger was behind them.

This series is definitely one of my favorites! I fell in love with it before I even finished the very first book! I cannot wait for the next book in the series to come out! I am secretly hoping that Jackson gets his own book. If anyone needs/deserves a HEA, it's him! ;)

And can I just tell you that I absolutely, 110% LOVE my casting?! These two are perfect in my opinion! ;)

Another fun addition to this series. Sometimes I wish these books were longer with a bit more time to develop the relationships but I still really enjoy them. The chemistry was snapping in this book.

Loved this book!

I really loved this book! The plot was quite intriguing to say the least, and while I felt a little clueless about the whole billionaire marriage brokers, it all came together so well. It definitely makes you want to read the other books in this series! I loved the similes and metaphors the author used when writing from a southern perspective. I also enjoyed the protagonists sense of humor and confidence. Many swoon-worthy moments!

This was a really good read. I was not surprised the one person got caught, but I knew it was too easy. The second was a surprise. I was sweet, and well written, and clean. I really enjoyed this book. I look forward to reading others from this author.

I loved that we got to see more of Noah, Paige's brother in The Country Bride, in this book! It's so much fun that there is a Billionaire Marriage Brokers groom and that it's Noah. I grew to love his character in Paige's story. And I love his character even more after reading this one.

Harley Wilson has a stalker and her family determines that it's high time for her to have a husband that can protect her at all hours of the day and night. So her mother calls Pamela at Billionaire Marriage Brokers and Noah and Harley are scheduled to get married the next Saturday.

I loved the wedding scene. It's really the first time Harley and Noah have met and it's hilariously funny when she slaps him after they've kissed for the first time! I love the way that Noah forgives her and moves on as though nothing has happened. I loved that even though he can tell he's developing feelings for Harley, he tries to keep her at arm's length so that he will be able to protect her any time that he needs to.

This is a cute story, it's romantic, clean and suspenseful. I was really surprised with who the stalker turns out to be in the end! I'm hoping for more Billionaire Marriage Brokers books soon!

This is the first book I've read in the Billionaire Marriage Brokers series, but it won't be the last! This is the 5th book in the series, so they definitely stand alone. I am such a sucker for these kinds of books. I really liked both Noah and Harley--they were great characters that you couldn't help but like. The mystery was great as well and kept me interested. Now I can't wait to go back and read books 1-4!

The Protective Groom

I enjoyed reading this BMB book by Lucy McConnell. I have read the other books in this series and I liked reading something different where a groom is provided instead of a bride. Harley and Noah had chemistry and were a great match. Looking forward to more from this author.

Not my favorite

Story was dull, most if it did match up. I kept reading to see if it got better but was sadly disappointed.

This was another fun addition to the BMB series. Readers that had previously read The Country Bride get to follow Paige’s brother as he signs up to be a groom for BMB. His marriage is a bit more exciting than some of the others as he is primarily brought on as a bodyguard for his wealthy bride.

While I enjoyed the book and the closer look at Noah, I felt some of the action left a little bit to be desired. I would have appreciated more action and more intrigue than we got here. Sometimes things felt a bit rushed, where I did not feel that way in other books of the series. Still, it was a good book and I’m glad for the opportunity to have read it.

Readers who have enjoyed other books by McConnell will enjoy this one as well. It definitely follows her typical style and is a quick, easy, and encouraging Read. If you haven’t read other books in the series, it is not necessary to start at the beginning, but you will benefit some from reading The Country Bride first, though it is not necessary.

suspenseful

Noah and Harley were perfect together. He’s a cowboy who runs the family kids camp after leaving the police . He was dealing with ptsd from a shooting. He longs for the kind of love that his sister Paige has.

Harley is a genius like her dad, and can handle herself with protection, but a stalker has her in their site. She is a wealthy and isolated lonely woman. She has everything, but really wants just one thing.

Harleys dad hires Noah through BMB. The stalker is closer than she thinks. Will Noah be able to find out who it is, and will he find his forever in Harley or go their separate ways in the end. They are such opposites.

A delightful, arranged marriage, bodyguard romance. Harley Wilson has a stalker. She needs a committed bodyguard. In steps Noah Baker, former police officer and full-time cowboy, except for time with his '57 Ford truck. They get hitched as BMB bride and groom. At different points, both face their own personal demons. The end is wonderful.

Action-packed. Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Happily Ever After. Romantic. Scary. Tragic. Twisted. Whimsical. Wonderful characters.

I received a review copy of this book from a third party. This is my honest review.

This was a sweet clean romance (kissing only) but plenty of heat and attraction between the main characters. It was short and had mystery and suspense along with marriage of convenience trope. First book of this series I've read and it was nice change from overly graphic or sex filled books.
Former cop that is scarred from a shooting signs up to be fake husband for uber rich girl with a stalker, totally non realistic but hey it's fiction, right?
The characters were nice people, yes even the rich ones LOL. The mystery made the book otherwise it would have been pretty boring.

I had a free copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Harley Wilson was being stalked by an admirer. In order to keep her safe, they arranged a husband through the Billionaire Marriage Brokers. Noah Baker was a former cop who quit after a shooting when he developed PTSD. As the threat gets closer and closer, Noah begins to fall for Harley and she for him. This is an interesting and engaging book about overcoming obstacles, and growth.

Miscommunication

Harley and Noah story begins with Harley receiving packages from an anonymous stalker, her parents decide if she gets married then that will take care of the problem in comes Pamela Jones and Noah. Noah's back ground as a police officer is just wht they need. Sparks fly and miscommunication between the two has you laughing, crying and routing for these two. Great character Great story!

Really enjoy this series

I love all of mcconnells earlier work. This was no exception. Loved the characters and the story line. Loved how she makes you feel like the characters know each other even though not a lot of time has passed. Love that it's clean. I suspected the bad guy, but couldn't figure out the why so I dismissed it. Fun read.

Love and suspense were what made this book so enjoyable. From Noah’s Old truck to living in a compound of constant fear the couple had to work to make their Love grow. Surprises everywhere you turned.

Ok

Felt like I came into the middle of a story. The ending was also abrupt. Liked the concept, but think the author could have done more with it.

Love it!!!!!

I fell in love with the Billionaire Marriage Brokers immediately and this one sticks right with the theme. Hard paced, adventurous, and heart clinching. With this being the first male to be married off I was a little leery about how it would go, but with the background info given, it flows well and leaves you hating to put it down for even a second.

Noah needs something to help him get past the incident that causes him nightmares and the reason he left the police force. After seeing his sister through the marriage deal, he decides to sign up. His first marriage is something he never wanted to do, basically be a bodyguard. But he immediately finds him self being protective of his bride to be and agrees to the marriage. Knowing he will do anything to protect his bride.

After several flower arrangements and surprising gifts have been left/sent to her, Harley is scared that some guy is out to harm her. But her father and mother decide that using the Marriage Brokers is the best way to flush out the person doing this and find protection for her at the same time. She isn't anywhere near happy about this, but finds herself attracted to Noah Baker as soon as she sees him waiting for her at the end of the isle.

After a few surprising events, they finally find who they believe is the person responsible, now it's time for them to fight for themselves...but there are more surprises waiting for them.
