Being Enough is the seventeenth book in the series The Greek Village Collection by INTERNATIONAL BEST SELLING AUTHOR Sara Alexi.

Bathing you in the heat of a sunny Greek Island, Being Enough is a touching, captivating story following one woman who sets out to rediscover the love and dreams that she has long forgotten.

Overwhelmed with doubts and anxiety about where her life has brought her to, Rallou wakes up one day to realise that her dreams have escaped her. Her children have grown up and gone their own way, and her husband Christos no longer seems to be the man she married.

Feeling as though she has far from followed her ambitions or passions, Rallou is left with burning questions; have her own choices determined her life, or is it a case of ‘once a village girl always a village girl’? Either way, it is not enough…

As Rallou’s circumstances weigh heavily upon her, a force of nature shatters all she has known and her husband goes missing. New information emerges, and Rallou finally understands all was not as it seemed, as external influences were at play.
Could these turn of events be the catalyst she needs to make some big decisions, or must she settle for less forever more?

Find out what happens as Rallou tries to unchain herself from what her life has become, and venture forwards towards an unwritten future.

Best selling author Sara Alexi was born in Oxford, England. After travelling widely she now splits her time between England and a tiny rural village in the Peloponnese, in Greece, where she has renovated a stone farmhouse, whilst observing the Greek way of life and absorbing the culture.

As a qualified psychotherapist, Sara ran her own practice for years. Her artistic nature was, during that time, confined to painting and she exhibited widely. Her move to Greece was the catalyst that began her writing.

Her 'Greek Village Series' has been very well received and provides a keenly observed, compassionate insight into the Greek people and culture, and the human condition in general.

Beautiful :
A wonderful read examining life's expectations. As usual I was gripped by Sara Alexi's writing from page one and didn't want to stop nor for the story to finish. She seems to understand the "human condition" extremely well and really gets inside the heads of her main characters.

I read this book for the ATY 2020 Reading Challenge Week 1: a book without an A, T, or Y in the title.

This year I am reading mysteries. This book has never been shelved as a mystery, so why did I read it. The number one reason is that I love Greece and Sara Alexi takes me there. The second was that our heroine Rallou is always striving to meet the expectations of her "mama." She strives to be a good mother. She strives to make her husband better. She strives to improve her home. However, "the why" is a mystery. When you read Sara Alexi, you are not just reading a good book. Most often you are learning something about yourself. If not yourself then someone else you know. There is lots of food for thought. And many "aha" moments. I was so relieved to read about Dolly, too.

I enjoyed the book, not as much as some of the others, but for me this one lacked something. I enjoyed it more once I got to the reunion and what happened after that.

Perfect

I wanted Greece, I wanted relationships, I wanted psychology. It is rare to get all three in one book. Wonderful.

Where do I begin? Wow! Another great story by Sara Alexi. She again brings you into the story so you cannot put it down. You almost have to finish it in one sitting because you can’t stop thinking about what will happen next. I told my husband that I get confused sometimes when she goes back and forth in time and then I realized that , that is what holds my interest. When it all comes together in the end it makes my heart happy. I love happy endings. I have a happy ending similar to this in my own life of 75 years. I know that all that happened in this book may sound a bit far fetched to some but I know how real it can be. At my age I can look back on my life and see how all that happened brought me to where I am today.
Thanks Sara for a wonderful story. I saw myself and others I knew in my life within these pages and I look forward to reading your next book. As for now I will have my memories of all the wonderful people I have come to know in Greece.

‘Being Enough’, the latest in the Greek Village Series, is another beautifully crafted and creative work from Sara Alexi. A thoughtful and poignant novel it again draws on the increasing exposure of Greek rural culture to modern values and society and how it impacts on families and generations.

Sara Alexi writes with such warmth about ordinary Greek people and her genius for creative writing and attention to detail enables us smell and taste the essence of Greek life and feel we are a part of it. However, this is not just a 'Greek Travel Book'. Like the previous novels in this series it is a great piece of storytelling and characterisation - often emotional and dark in places but always with a positive ending that tantalisingly leaves us wanting to know what happens next.

Being Enough is my new favorite of all The Greek Village series. Sara has outdone herself with this book. I loved revisiting some old friends and making new ones in this enthralling book. If I had to find something off with it, was that it was to short. I could have stayed and visited with these new characters for a dozen more chapters. Thank you, Sara, for the escape to Greece. I can't wait for the next Greek Village Book!

I loved this book for more than one reason. It was an introduction to more characters and yet included many of the characters of the other books in this series. I love the way Sarah, cleverly manages this without 'forcing' it. Another character from past books makes a re-entry and my face lit up when I read that part of the story. It was a thoroughly enjoyable read and I think I finished it just in time for Sara's next book.

Sara Alexi's Greek Village books are a window into a beautiful part of the world. Her characters are very real and you will feel you know them as your friends as they intertwine into each other's lives throughout the series. The books are a holiday to a place and people that not every one can travel to on an airplane...but anyone can travel there through the pages of her books. Enjoy the trip!

I loved reading the story of Rallou...and seeing how my views on her and her marriage changed as they changed for her! As always, it was fabulous to see some of my old 'friends' from the village and the island...and seeing Dolly again was such a treat! Sara Alexi has a way to tug at my heartstrings and make me yearn to see more of the world and learn more about the human condition!

Just lovely, visiting old friends and making new ones .

I love how Sara 's new characters intertwine with our friends from earlier stories. While being introduced to new friends you learn what has happened in the lives of old ones. I wonder if Cyril would like to visit Saris?

Surprise! Surprise!

A very suspenseful drama with personalities met in the course of this story who have already been met by us in previous volumes. As always, I couldn't stop myself from reading on.

Another great read from one of myfavourite authors. Sara has a wonderful skill in her descriptive writing. You start to think that you are actually viewing the scene yourself. Have now read all the series except the recent addition which awaits me in my Library.
