Correlations by P.S. Winn is a psychological, paranormal thriller. Lacey is having a tough time, a tough life for that matter. Her mother was brutally murdered when she was but seventeen. She soon moved to live with her grandparents. They cared for her and watched over her until it was her turn to repay their kindness as they entered their twilight years. Years pass and Lacey's grandma passes on to join her husband leaving Lacey alone. As if sensing her vulnerability strange things begin to happen with all signs pointing towards it relating to the events surrounding her mother's deaths.

P.S. Winn weaves an interesting tale, filled with captivating characters, strange happenings, and a touch of the paranormal. Suitable for young adults and adults, a well-written clean read. Once you start reading this is a book impossible to put down, the building atmosphere and curiosity ensure you'll keep turning those pages.

Touching story with a paranormal aspect.

Once I started reading the book I knew it was going to be an all-nighter to finish it. PS Winn has a reputation for writing books that draw in her readers. Maybe it's the compelling characters and great plot but I think it's because Ms Winn puts a little bit of herself into each book. Correlations was no different from any other. It was a story of Lacey who was trying to deal with the death of a grandmother all while she is being stalked due to something that happened in her past. I live the characters of Lacey, Beth and Paul and I look forward to reading other books by this talented author. Correlations by PS Winn deserves five stars.

This is a page turner for sure. I downloaded this book in kindle less than four hours before I am writing this review. I could not put it down.
In reviewing a book I first look at the content of the story itself. Did the story have a strong beginning and ending, was there a moral to the story, was there continuity in the story, all kinds of factors. These factors don't pop into my head as I read, but come in my thoughts afterward. This is a strong story, well written with solid continuity and content.
The second part of my review process is to look at the characters. In this book Lacey, Beth and the Sheriff are the principal characters, other than the nut cake who is stalking and planning on killing Lacey. The characters are developed, they are personalities, they are human, not just words on the page. The characters are well drawn and fleshed out very nicely.
So the story is good and the characters are excellent in this story. The one thing I would wish the author had done is to draw the story out slightly longer in order to give the reader a sense of why the stalker is doing what he is doing. I got the reasons that are provided. I just would like to have had a little more.
Nonetheless I loved the story and give it a five star review. This story would be for almost any age group but for some graphic violence. I would not recommend this book for young children.

Perfect for an afternoon or evening read.
An excellent novella that can be read in one sitting. The story is a mystery thriller with strong supernatural overtones. The main protagonist is Lacey, whose life is damaged by unfortunate past events. Her grandparents look after until they pass over, but are they still looking out for her? The story is well imagined, the characters are believable, and it is easy to feel empathy with them. The principal 'baddie' is a well-drawn scary, threatening, type. The story flows freely, and the writing is easy to follow. As the tension rises it is difficult to put the book down. I felt compelled to read on and find out what happens in the end. Very well worth reading.

Living alone with her only living relatives, her loving aunt and uncle, so far away, Lacey is still reeling from the death of her beloved grandmother when out of nowhere she finds her troubled past has come back to haunt her. But she’s not alone and is being watched over not only by good friends, but by the spirits of her dead mother and grandparents.

There are romantic undertones in this psychological thriller and it appears the local sheriff and Lacey are destined to become more than friends…

Exceptional!

The author P.S. Winn did a great job blending mystery, paranormal, and romance. The story was just scary enough to keep me locking the doors! The characters were believable, the story well thought out and written, and the blooming of a new romance was perfect. I give Correlations 5***** stars! Thanks for the great read.

This is an entertaining thriller that keeps you turning the pages. The well developed main character. Lacey, is someone many will associate with connecting to her state of mine.
Correlations is the perfect read on a plane trip.

This is a delightful cozy mystery with supernatural highlights. At the story’s onset, our heroine, Lacey, is stricken with grief. She is burying the last living relative who she has taken care of for the last few years, her grandmother. She is finally, completely, utterly alone in the world. And her life experience amounts to years spent in a sanitarium for murdering the man who murdered her grandmother; as he was knifing her, Lacey was knifing him. She is haunted by flashbacks and nightmares to this day.

Interrupting her crippling grief are bouts of sheer terror. Now, ten years after she killed her grandmother’s killer, someone related to that slaying is out for vengeance. Could it be the menacing figure that hires her to carve a wooden jaguar for him, one that “looks like it’s stalking its victim?” Five seconds with this guy could send chills up anyone’s back.

Alone, fragile, grieving and terrified, Lacey is not without a budding support group. There is the sheriff who always had a thing for her who looks after her the best as he can. But his presence is minimal owing to his day job. There is Beth, a friend of the sheriff, who he sends to live with her until he can get a handle on the person threatening her life, prowling her property, breaking in and shattering her artwork, leaving signs like “murderer” painted in blood across her car windshield. Finally, there is Rachel, a psychic who assures her that her house is filled with many angels. But she is sad to report that the angels too are concerned for her welfare. They give her a man’s name, a clue to the mystery. But Rachel warns that even her ghosts can only do so much to protect her. Never has a person been armed by a sheriff, a live-in martial-arts teacher, and a psychic, not to mention a battalion of helper ghosts, ever been more vulnerable. You’ll be at the edge of your seat to see how things pan out.

This is a 125 page novella, so it’s possible to finish it in one sitting. Winn writes more of these than she does longer novels, but I’ve yet to read one that wasn’t worth reading.

This is a story of a woman who has already had a lot of problems in life and is trying to move on. When her past comes back to haunt her when she becomes the victim of harassment, Lacey wonders if the problem could be something evil and supernatural or is it really a person she has to be afraid of? She has the police chief Paul and his secretary, Beth helping her, but it may take a little spiritual help from the world beyond to help Lacey not only get away from the trouble now, but also trouble that happened ten years ago. Interesting murder, mystery that adds a touch of paranormal to the mix.
